Odd question but does one have to be physically diagnosed with gastroparesis to say that they have gastroparesis? Also is gastroparesis considered a GI disorder or have I just been wrong for calling it that?

My fiancée has it. I would say one should go to the trouble to get the diagnosis. Other things can be going on that mimic it. If you are diagnosed there are treatments available. A new med is supposed to be FDA approved in the coming months.
In terms of disorder it’s a GI motility disorder caused by nerve damage to the stomach muscles.
