I really want the mini version now.
i accidentally broke mine (exact same toy) 😭
More phrases/words that I find stimmy:
-> Sir Arthur Conan Doyle ( the guy who wrote Sherlock Holmes )
-> any lyrics really
-> Froakie/Klefkie/Spritzee ( Pokémon )
Oh no! Hopefully you can get a new one.
I really want all the colours of needoh icl😅
ooo we would love to know what this fidget toy is. We have a old circle water bottle vox we are using as a box to hold all our fidget toys and could use more
Anyone able to describe needoh texture? Is it sticky? Does dust/hair stick to it? And how soft is it to squish - is it like slime?
Happy to spoiler any uncomfy sensory descriptions, please ping <3
It's like kinda soft on the outside????? You do have to wash it cause it will pick up dust though, and then it will feel terrible for a couple of minutes
Depending on which you get it ranges from hard to squish to not, if you want it harder to squish you can always put it in the fridge for a bit
You can dig your nails in it too- maybe don't if you have long nails though, idk feels like something bad would happen
Anyway the dried texture I quite like
It's like it's soft?? Idk it feels, the best way to describe it is floury but it's not at all?? Like it's not floury but yknow when flour has been on a stone counter or smth and has been rubbed it a bit? And then it gets like soft? Like that
Thank you so much!
Does it wash off well? And is it grainy or smooth?
The outside is smooth but if it has dirt and stuff on it it is grainy
GG @chrome ether, you just advanced to level 13!
not NOW MEE6
I got one, it's awesome
it makes me ✨magical✨
Exactly the mouvements and sound are just ouah 🌟
My slugs head fell off so now I have a slug head and a headless slug
the pieces on mine can be reattached, maybe you can fix yours or did it snap? 😮
It snapped :(
But it's ok it's still fun to use and very usable
Our echolalia is fun tonight. Tonight its the NightWish song turn loose the mermaids
Has anyone gone through a phase of vocal stims of objects? Like I have gone months repating dairy products or weeks saying the same joke?
Yes the joke one
I might have said before but this has for months I've just asked people and stimmed with:
Are you a potato that floats? Then you're a float-ato
Anyone got any cool/ nice stimms? Just curious what others have?
I put my thumb in my mouth or flap my hands
And being with people I feel safe with helps
Flapping is a go to for me
I love spinning but I don't do it often, I also rock nearly all the time even if its tiny but I think that's partly due to the fact I grew up on a boat so it brings me comfort in multiple ways
Lots of screeching, especially if you have friends who will echo it and screech back. I frequently make random noises with my friend and it is the best feeling and one of the only stimming I do for extended amounts of time
I love repeating words or song lyrics. My favourite thing at the moment is says “ If they talk , They try and get to use cause I would rather go blind then let you down ‘ I’ve said around 15 times today
Mostly vocal stims! I also love shaking my wrists, swimming, and rubbing fabric over my mouth. anyone have any fidget toy recs to prevent skin picking?
Marble mazes or marble pushers
Acupressure rings
Zipper bracelets
Anything with small, movable beads
This is what I mean by zipper bracelet btw, idk if that's what they're actually called
There's also picky pads but I haven't tried any yet
Oooo I love this bracelet. Where do you get it
[Reply to:](#1253131483791626332 message) This is what I mean by zipper bracelet btw, idk if that's what they're actually called 📎
My vocal stims are repeating things we heard like from TV, youtube or music or we giggle. God we have had tivio tivio tivio from a commercial as a vocal stim for days now
I think I might've gotten it with a collection of fidget toys from sensooli a few years ago when they still shipped to my country. I'm not sure tho, it's been a while
Hmmm never heard of them

Owe dang it it's another UK and Eu only shop. Poo our host is American so no shipping to me. Man its just like this sensory lanyard Instagram shop with everything our host identity has been dreaming of for their medical lanyards like custom poping fidgets and even sensory stuffy Keychain to go with the fidget that goes on any lanyard or the lanyard it comes with. Maybe we can one day make our own though no money for lanyard fidgets right now. We would need 6 things for our 6 lanyards

Anyone have any chewelry recommendations? I’m in Australia so I might not be able to get some stuff shipped here btw
arktherapeutic from the US ships to many places including Australia and they have so many options. I even saw chewlery thay looked like it went on pencils or stick line stuff or maybe even your finger depending on its size

Snippets from the site
[Reply to:](#1253131483791626332 message) Anyone have any chewelry recommendations? I’m in Australia so I might not be able to get some stuff …
Nothing specific but I got mine from etsy and am really happy with it
Oh those look cool and more varied than what I found on Etsy so far!
I hope shipping to where I live isn't outrageously pricey
That would be sad if it was to much
Chewy 😍🤩
Wondered if there’s chewelry in Canada that the thread part isn’t made with nylon or the metals that’d change colours.. because I’m allergic to both nylon and the metals that’d change colours.. :((
I have a few ark ones and they are really good
we got these recently. they’re magnetic balls with different textures. so you can change the order or just play with two.. ya. :))
How much were they?
Where did u buy them from?
they were a gift so i don’t know how much those ones specifically were.. but if you google “magnetic silicone ball fidget” they come up :>
Amazon!
GG @chrome ether, you just advanced to level 14!
About stimming: you won't believe how much I whistle. I whistle everywhere, always, and in any situation. Also I'm always rocking on chairs, and never fall of them. And fidgets, I don't have any, sorrowly, but a lot of common things work as fidgets: such as giant spring
GG @lyric cipher, you just advanced to level 1!
What is it ?
It is just a giant spring, that I found on the ground on the way to school.
I like to hum and whistle at the same time. If I do that twice in short bursts (idk what to call it), I make an awesome train impression
I love mini slinkies, I can get a pack of five for like $2 in dollar stores and they aren’t super noisy. They’re my favourite fidgets
same but they break easily lol
Yeah, that’s why I buy them in packs!
That sounds like a cool trick!
I did it for my talent in my camp's talent show one week
does anyone have any suggestions for redirecting harmful/pain stims? (:
I ask help ( when possible ) to my friends, or i try to find another safe stim instead
Also always carrying fidget toys or anything stim- related helps me to redirect my stims
I know some fidget toys are made especially to redirect harmful stims, i don't own any so i can't recommend any, but maybe it could work ?
I think a good place to start could be figuring out what part of the stim is the most important for you to feel like it works well as a stim. Like, is it the feeling of pain itself? Or is it a specific repetitive movement that just happens to also end up being painful? Is it a specific sensory experience that happens at the same time as pain, due to the way you make it happen? (You don't have to answer these questions here, their just ideas for how to figure out what the root experience is that your nervous system is getting from that stim.)
And then once you've figured that out, it can be easier to find a substitute stim that actually fulfills the same need for your nervous system while being less painful/harmful for your health in the longterm
Lotsssss of vocal stims like meowing, tons of echolalia so anything I hear I say that I alike
GG @dry stump, you just advanced to level 32!
I have been watching twitch so much lately that now I have a new echolalia stim from one who plays phasmaphobia, they say show yourself do something give us a sign so I sim that now and its fun
does anyone have a stim where they tap each finger with there thumb idk how to describe it but like yeah
I do that sometimes it’s so nice
Yeah it is
Ooo I just saw in your bio that you are a fellow Stay, me too
Yes! Sometimes I do each hand parallel and sometimes anti-parallel (starting with different fingers at the thumb)
Oeeeee I love them🥰
Currently listening to them hihi
Yesss I love stray kids is it okay if I dm you or stay in this channel to talk about it, it's up to you, the reason why I would rather dm Is that I don't wanna clog up the channel but its up to you and what you are comfortable with
I send you a dm :)
I just realized that when I am overwhelmed, I tap my chest in the middle, like it is some kind of drum.
i do that too! i like tapping
soothing /pos
I tap a lot too, my chest, the side of my face, my legs, idk it’s calming I guess
don't know if its a stim but i like to stick my tongue out and just shaking my leg
When I stim, I do these like eye things. Idk if there like stims or tics
What is eye things if you don't mind me asking?
umm like twitches or rolls or like strerches
Okie 👍
Yeah I do that sometimes and my sister does that too
I do that as well somethimes
I got a mini of that-
I love the hand shaking stims I get :3 that or like bouncing up and down
I have a lot of stims where I shake my hands uncontrollably in stressful or not stressful situations, and I honestly like them but then my wrists end up hurting because I do it so often..
Or I get my 3d printed animals or stuffed animals… and then keychains that are like soft too
I found an online shop that ships Ark chewlery from the country next to mine so shipping cost is lower! And I even found an online shop based in another neighboring country that sells Chewigem products!! I can finally replace my Chewigem necklace! I'm so exited!
Bc I got the dogtags from directly from the chewigem online shop a few years ago but they stopped shipping to where I live in the meantime so I was really sad when I lost the chewlery. It was the only one that worked for my chewing style so far and I didn't know how to get a new one. But now I can! /very pos
This time I'll be smart and put the two pendants on two different cords and keep one at home so I have a replacement in case I loose it again
(lmao I sent this message and then read the product description text on the shop website right after, and it recommends doing that too, now I don't feel as smart about it /lh)
I have vocal stims. I make noises. I sing and do character impressions. But a lot of my stims have to either be done in private or in ways that don't seem too weird, otherwise I'll get in trouble. I need a lot of vestibular input, but I don't always get the input that I need and am quite understimulated a lot. When I go to the park and I go on the playground I like to swing and if I could live on the spinny chair, then I would (I never get dizzy). I like playgrounds because of the different things that supply vestibular input, but my mom doesn't like it when I do that because she thinks that I'm too old. And if I spin at home, then she gets mad. Because I'm really understimulated a lot, it makes me more likely to have dermatillomania symptoms. She doesn't like it when I have dermatillomania symptoms, so she wants me to do things that are different that don't affect my physical appearance. The answer to that is to give me fidget toys because I'm like more fidgety than most people know. But I can't use fidget toys to help me. My parents bought me fidget toys, but I can't use them around my family because after the first day or two of me fidgeting whether it's quiet or noisy my mom will get annoyed and force me to stop. And then I can't use them in public because my mom doesn't want me to look special or like there is something wrong/different with me to other people. And sometimes this is stressful because I'm just so understimulated like most of the time and things would just go a lot smoother for me if I was able to get the stimulation that I need.
Their are stim/fidget toys that are quite discret I can show you in #📷pics-and-videos or dm them to you also you can get built in fidget toy hoodies is well I can also send them etheir in #📷pics-and-videos or dm them to you
Oooo a 3D printed dragon I love the themm I've got two I think
It’s super long
Fidget basket
I constantly hum a tune as a stim although sometimes it turns into more of a habit haha
Apologies that was from me!
[Reply to:](#1253131483791626332 message) I constantly hum a tune as a stim although sometimes it turns into more of a habit haha
Follow the yellow brick road became a stim
I also like this fidget bc it's like a fidget spinner and a stress ball combined into one pocket-sized fidget
Oh and I recently discovered Ark Chewth Picks and they works great for me!! Especially the softest/chewiest one! And surprisingly I really like the textured one, too. I think I even prefer it over the smooth one, when I expected it to be the other way around.
The only drawback is that they seem to be "squeakier" than I remember the chewigem dogtags to be, so I think I'll still get those again too (I just couldn't decide what color I want to get yet)
Ooo that kinda reminds me of a similar fidget toy I used to have idk the name of it but yeah
I steal stims from people around me and some I still use are Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaanquo and blub
B words are good stimmeys
I make a clicking noise in my mouth. Idk how I do it. I just do.
My favorite stim is twirling my hair, and random but scratching the hair beside my ear (sounds very nice)… when I was little I used to knot it around my finger and get it stuck
also fidgets ofc- my fav is kinda like a worry stone but it’s two pieces that magnet together so you can feel the textures or rub them because of the magnets
since i was 3 ive had this blanket that i rub against my lips (i do this with other things sometimes too) and its rlly old and worn out but i think that makes it feel nicer than a newer soft blanket, its a very comforting stim of mine
so real i love rubbing soft stuff on my face /vpos
I got this 3D printed dragon for my birthday and I love it🥰
It’s very good for stimming (for me)
Ooo I love 3d printed dragonnss! stims eeee! /vpos
I have got two somewhere ill see if I can find them and send a picture
Aaaa that’s amazing!
Ooh, I have a very similar one
I have a card game called unstable unicorns that I like to stim with by organizing by type, colour, and individual card, then messing it up and re-organizing it all over again :D
that sounds funnn im gonna check it out
My current stim at the moment is 'bing bong' from inside out. I'm very hyoerfixated on it atm. I am usually only saying 'bing bong' when I volunteer at the farm, but its become a bigger thing now. I love bing bong tho!
My current stim I have is listening to this one song over and over and it’s called “the meaning of life” by Josiah queen and it’s soo good!!
someone on the train earlier played the audio that goes "helicopter, helicopter!" and now i cannot stop singing it lmao
I was watching tik tok and there was this sound “I love your pink hair, I love your evil glare” it’s imprinted in my mind
I have a few, my current one is 'Guess where is me' its from a random video I saw on Instagram.
If I see an avocado I also say 'It's an Avocado. Thanks!'
My favourite is making Pidgeon noises and I don't know why 🤣🤣
It’s kinda basic but I meow (sometimes I mean to sometimes I don’t) 😂
I go round and I boop all my friends on the head (really softly) and they think it’s adorable hehe ☺️
Omgggg I love that so much!
I love Robert its pissing me off
Oh yeah I was doing that for a while
one of my is iM cLaUsRoPhobic DaReN! (oop idk y its like some are capitals and some arent)
Hii, one of my favorite stims is music, specifically the song called “if I died last night” by Jessie Murph and it’s really good!
Yessss, definitely music
Especially the Beatles, one of my vocal stims is "number nine" 💔💔💔
Ooh! Might listen to that after I stop listening to the same song over and over… if it’s a song title…
It repeats until like 30secs into the song,it's called "Revolution 9"
It sounds uncanny asf tho cuz they dont actually sing In that one💔😭
AND its 8 minutes long ☠️
💀
Ive got the head hitting now😭, i also hit ,y fist into my palm or hit both my fists together
Atm, im clicking my tongue or humming. Bing bong character seems to be going strong atm too!
This one is stuck in my head “Where is your sword? I don’t know/Dont need it”
Or “I’m tired of this grandpa! That’s too damn bad keep digging”
It’s funny because depending on the emotional state I’ll stim for different reasons. And it feels good because it feels like a release like my body is all fiery, but it also hurts because sometimes they’ll be self injurious (like head hitting, biting etc) but also I feel better by lashing out on myself than keeping it in if that makes sense? Sorry if this didn’t make any sense haha.
Also I have this ‘squeak’ noise I make. And I don’t really know what it is. I just say it’s a stim because I can repress or not make the noise if I want, I just like letting it out when it comes. But the sensation comes physically, like a hiccup but only one or two and every now and then.
I also make this sound when I’m happy but it’s without the physical sensation that ‘forces’it out
I think it makes sense /sincere
i recently started making the noise of a clicker (like for dog training, the two clicks in quick succession) with my tongue and also will just sing random notes/sing songs that are stuck in my head or that i’m listening to
(censored because it may be a common ||vocal tic||
||Making popping sounds with my mouth|| and clapping! I recently discovered clapping was a stim of mine and it's so regulating for me, whether clapping my hands, thighs, hips, or objects around me (rarely objects though, most of them make too loud of a noise if I clap on them, so I just tap)
i love tapping :D
with fingertips
and repeatedly
Rn I’m so into love and deepspace and this boy (Caleb) kept singing “Dadadadada” and now it’s non stop 😭
same :)) my friend plays saxophone and will tap out the sax fingerings on his steering wheel or the table (or me if we’re hugging or something) and i think i’m picking up tapping in general from him a little
I found a wooden spinner top in our old toy cabinet recently and it's a nice fidget, and I like spinning it as a stim sometimes
I have been flapping my hands and tense up my fingers when I open or close them
i have been singing the opera bit where it goes 'ooo oh oh oh ah' (its a tiktok thing)
I’ve been saying “hey” because my friend keeps saying that 😭 and now it’s registered in my mind
i have a stim where i shake my butt...
I like humming songs as a stim while using fidgets or using my computer
I keep saying 'weeeee' at everything I do when I am excited atm.
I jump and clap when I get too happy
Me to its fun
Me too
Anyone else hit their hips with their wrists?
i do when im happy!!
Me too! And when I’m standing and fidgeting
that used to be one of my most common stims but i eventually got myself to stop doing it as i would do it too hard when excited or stressed
my favorite stim is "What´s this made of? Rock" i have this stim from a youtuber, which has a parrot. the parrot can name different materials and one of them is a rock
One of my stims is I rock back and forth does anyone still do this or have that grown out of it.? I’ve been doing it ever since I was very young.
GG @wind dome, you just advanced to level 2!
I love rocking back and forth! I actually do it more now compared to when I was younger
When I was younger I mostly had chewing stims and like... Wiggling my feet? Idk how to call that
I had more stims that were like for specific situations but I don't remember all of them right now
I’ve done from young age and I guess when I grew up I did it way more and cuz my parents didn’t understand they tried to tell me to stop and I said I can’t and every time it got annoying so I masked around them and it was exhausting so I told them recently that I’m not gonna mask around them anymore and they just said okay, I think I have had that stim few times I’d sit there and wiggle my feet or bounce my feet or my legs and I’ve even had one where I swing my legs on certain things I’m sat on like chairs with 4 legs but that was way easier when I was younger
oh! question
i feel like i used to hear the term echolalia as an autistic trait but since joining this server it seems to only describe ||tics||. does the term have multiple uses/meanings?
It has one: repeating things others say. The reasons can be autism or tics or various other things. It’s also developmentally appropriate in small children
It can also happen in anxiety, schizophrenia, aphasia, adhd, and due to dementia or stroke
I've seen it used in many contexts, autism, ||tics|| , brain injuries, catatonic states, etc, and yeah, when appropriate developmentally in children. The meaning is the same, just the reason and mechanisms change, even sometimes within one usage of it. Some autistic folks do it by choice, and some don't.
What bug says
thank you both! bug what you said is especially interesting because i didn’t know if i was actually doing it since a lot of the time it is by choice
It's sometimes a stim and sometimes the only (or close to) method of communication available, if that helps
Wtf autocorrect
i generally repeat people either by choice because it sounds satisfying to my brain or unconsciously because it helps me hear what they say/sometimes is easier than forming a different sentence in response
And that's perfectly valid! :D
Yea, sometimes repeating people’s words is so satisfying
Me when I steal stims... Nyehehe
my boyfriend said “apple” the other day and for the next minute or two that was the only thing i said
i then had to stop and clarify that i wasn’t mocking him or his accent it just sounds nice
which is a thing i (understandably) have to clarify all the time but it’s so fun and satisfying
I relate. Words in certain accents or languages sometimes just roll off the tongue. I had a stim once that was counting to 4 in Japanese followed by 勝つ meaning something like victory
“1, 2, 3, 4, victory” just doesn’t sound as nice
that’s cool!! i know zero japanese so cant conceptualize what that would sound like but i totally get what you’re talking about
i don’t get many dedicated vocal stims, they tend to mostly just be one offs/last for the day
It goes “ichi, ni, san, shi, katsu” except pronounced probably not exactly how you think tbh
it’s funny because my boyfriend has the mildest midwest (american) accent ever (i’m also american but from a different part) but it’s still really satisfying in some words
even if roughly how i think i do see how that’s satisfying to say
Exactly!
when i was attempting to learn korean counting to three was really really satisfying even if only in my head
That’s cool. I’m at, like, a first grader’s level in Japanese. I can sort of hold a conversation but my vocabulary isn’t very wide
i couldn’t get the way korean grammar worked because i couldn’t find any strict rules for it just that you’d get the hang of it when you speak in conversations but i live in california and my only korean friend doesn’t really speak korean so i kinda gave up learning
I’m pretty used to working with varied grammar rules since I speak both English and Arabic so the basic grammar wasn’t a super big hurdle for me
oh cool! i only speak english and then as much spanish as i’ve picked up from my mom’s side of the family (and basic spanish classes that were never at the right level for me to learn) and spanish grammar comes easily to me because i grew up around it but different languages not so much
GG @wind zenith, you just advanced to level 9!
I grew up speaking Arabic so it was actually English that was the hurdle for me to learn tbh
The grammar is horrible, lmao
that’s so fair english is terrible
It’s a really stimmy language though
I wanna get to the same level in Japanese as I already have in English ( which is that I can pass for native ) but that’ll be a while
I can talk to my cat in Japanese and I’d say that’s a win
i wanna do that with spanish because it’s my mom’s first language but she didn’t speak it around me much growing up so i don’t speak it well, even though i can understand conversations decently well
Fair
That’s really common with young people these days
yeahh i get frustrated about not knowing it a lot because i wish she spoke it to us (i keep saying “us” because i have a twin) when we were little because i feel bad for having such little confidence or ability to speak it so i want to really lock in on studying it in college (when it’s not just a bunch of kids fulfilling their required language credit)
sorry i tend to ramble a lot
You gotta just pretend that you’re good at it
does that work?
As long as your confident and know the basics most will people will get what you mean
In my case any mistakes I make in English get chalked up to second language stuff and Japanese being my third language; I get so much leeway
also i have a slight lisp which also means that at least in 18 years of on and off trying, i can’t roll my r’s which makes my accent kinda bad
that’s a really good point actually
i know when i was in france people seemed to appreciate me trying to speak french even if it wasn’t perfect
and it was never perfect because i took french when i was 12 and 13 and half of that was online in covid
I took French for a year too!
I was crap at it though, never learned a thing
i was good at it (for a middle schooler) and retained a surprising amount of what i learned even now five years later, even though we didn’t cover a huge amount
my mother likes to say i have an ear for language but also that’s my mom and i haven’t tried to learn many i just think it’s cool and interesting to
I got really frustrated with it really fast
I’m decent with languages too
I can’t speak a lot of them or know most of the words but I can understand a lot of what people say via context and tone
i think knowing spanish grammar really instinctively/without having to think about it helped my understanding of french grammar and made it easy to memorize, and my teacher was really good
yeah that makes sense! i tend to not be confident going based on those things because i’m scared of misunderstanding people/being misunderstood but i’m glad it works for you!
I mostly use my powers of basic intuition to tell my professor to buzz off when they complain about people not speaking English to each other during studio hours
I can go “well, they’re clearly discussing colour combinations for that painting with each other not insulting anyone so there’s literally no problem with what they’re doing”
And I’m right most of the time
that’s great, very good use of context clues (also i didn’t think of that as an in class thing i meant mostly that i’d be scared of saying something random to my family/a waiter that made no sense)
I mean it works in public too ( my curiosity is beyond me ) but I mostly use it to snoop in public instead of actually conversing with people
there was one singular time that i did that with korean which was to be surprised when a korean couple said that their food tasted bad because i had the same thing and it was delicious
i was so proud of actually understanding someone
learning languages is so fun
i range from decent-fluent knowledge in the 4 that i know, but i want to learn more
its so fun being able to understand stuff!
sometimes i prefer certain words in other languages over others but it gets difficult bc most people around me dont understand more the 2
i say "goodbye" and "thank you" in 1 of my native languages often but im studying abroad rn so i always have to clarify what im saying
i’ve started learning a bunch of different languages because it’s fun to know a few words in random languages but now when i open my mouth to speak a language that isn’t english there’s a chance that i say the word in the wrong foreign language lol
i have very nearly said “thank you” in french or korean (despite knowing very little of either of those) instead of in spanish on multiple occasions
i learned polish online for a really really small amount of time 6 years ago
and i still call milk mleko
Ive got a new vocal stim now. Its literally just saying 'dinosaur' and 'rawr' constantly from a meme😅 Im giggling at myself when I say it😂
I love that
I love quoting things as a vocal stim. "erawr I'm a deanasaur"
I like stimming with my friend's hands and jewelry :3
I also keep quoting Harry Potter references from the first film!
But all day its been the dinosaur vocal stim.
Dinosaurs for life
I loveeee dinosaurs
GG @whole phoenix, you just advanced to level 22!
My new vocal stim is that one meme with the kid who says “whattdid I do” with the rolled r sound 😭
i loveee spinning in circles, making my characters in games spin, and just walking back and forth in a way that makes my head spin a little is so pleasing
Spinning is so soothing
I love swings so much
I also love swings :D
Swings are the best. I keep passing a swing attached to a tree and the way home I always like to sit and swing on it.
Swings are great, yeah!
I did an internship at a place that works with kids so they had a room with swings and other movement stuff. If the kids were doing something else, I could sit on the swing. It was great and I kinda miss it.
One of my dreams is having one of those swing chairs at home lol
Another stim I like to do is roll something between my hand. So like on of those balls that are spiky but also soft for example. Or just a normal ball or a pen or one of those hand acupressure things.
i like pacing quite alot, it helps me regulate my thoughts
I once had a friend who I would always run into at school because we'd both go pacing
So if everyone else was standing one place, we would pace in the back xD
that’s so cool!
Mneh/neh is one of mine but it's one that's also a bit of a tic and I'm fairly sure the stim developed from ||the tic I have where I'll often shudder as well (in spoiler just in case)||. To clarify I don't have tourettes, just regular infrequent tics like most people get.
A stim I picked up from a friend when I was much younger (before I was diagnosed or even knew what a stim was) which I don't really do any more was when I was excited I'd screw my hands up into a fist and kneed my eyes similar to how a cartoon character might be depicted crying their eyes out type thing. Somehow it never clicked I was autistic. 🙄
New object added to my collection of found fidgets
If you 3D print you prob recognise it cause it’s a type of 3D printer waste. I had someone take off the sharp bits and I’m left with this little accordion thing
our new thing we rediscovered: putting hands in a big bowl of raw lentils and playing with them. I want to get more bowls and peas and maybe rice or beans for different texture
We did that with oats
and vocally I meow a lot
Fun! We had jars like that at work for the kids too but I only discovered them at the very end of my internship. We had a box of sand too but I think I'd personally also prefer the lentils.
makes sense, it was a childhood memory/wish from an alter I needed to fulfill. not really sure where we encountered that, some sensory and nature play thing but its connected to idealised "good childhood" now and they crave it (sry if too much of an explanation just tell me)
very very very weird ik but sniffing (safe people only tho)... i got it from my friend and ig me and my gf both pick up autistic stims like pokemon (a quote she said and im saying it cause i think this is a good time to say it)
when i’m tired and/or really comfortable i make a lot of humming/whining sounds and don’t really notice until people ask me what’s wrong but nothing’s wrong it’s actually for me almost exclusively a positive thing
also i like chewing on things (mostly my nails/fingers/lips) that and singing are probably my top two stims
Omg same!!!!
I forgot caps weren’t allowed, I use caps when I’m excited
oh i didn’t know they weren’t allowed good to know!
Yeah, if you use caps it said too many caps
ohh i see
I say and type "wiwiwi" as a stim (its the cute cat meowing) and I also quote films or phrases after hearing certain things I.e. someone says "cheese" I'll say "its cheese gromit", or if someone mentions toy story or a character I'll say " buzz look an alien!"
GG @fierce pollen, you just advanced to level 2!
Im vocally stimming a line from the Matilda the Musical since Saturday. I went to the theatre to watch it, and it was soo good (second time watching and I was in the middle of the stalls, first time we were off to the right of the stalls, so much better in the middle!). Ahhh.
GG @cinder spruce, you just advanced to level 2!
“mooooooonbeaaaaaam” like from that benson boone song but in slow motion and high pitched/not in my normal voice
