I'm going on an airplane on Saturday, and I have no idea what I should bring with me for sensory and stress. I want to know if any of you guys have suggestions for what I should bring (I'm on a nighttime flight, so it needs to be something quiet and distracting).

(I don’t have suggestions but I really would like to know since I’m going on a school trip tommorow )

You can bring your phone/laptop for sound and sight, wear an oil or perfume that isn't so strong as to bother other passengers for scent, bring a quiet food or candy for taste (I suggest hard ones like jolly ranchers) for taste, and something like a stress ball, cube, etc. for touch.

I would also bring a comfort item to help with stress, and you do not have to bring or do everything, just what you feel will help. Ultimately, you're the one flying and should feel as comfortable as anyone else. Just bring and do the things that help you the most.💚

Also, don't be afraid to stim. Everyone is just trying to get to their destination and really won't care if the person next to them is moving a little more than usual.

hii, maybe try ‘loop’ earbuds, those work wonders on the plane bc the plane does make a low rumbling sound. If you’re on a long(er) flight, the airplane will have little screens for movies and games, that usually distracts me :) i also bring a noiseless fidget toy like a tangler. Headphones/earbuds for music are awesome. I love to bring my own pillow if im on an overnight plane, just to get the smell of home and have something that feels safe. Hope this helped!

Loop earplugs are amazing, especially the Quiet ones if you have them.
