how can i minimize sensory overload (specifically with noise) without headphones or earplugs? im asking for a future situation bc my parents probably wont let me bring headphones or earplugs if im in that situation, i especially want to know for school dances bc sometimes they can be overloading visually and hearing wise

hm, you could try and get to the least active place in the room? try and have someone you are comfortable with you to help center yourslef if you can

Yeah I have tried that before for the 8th grade dance but it was also loud in the bathroom and I don’t want to miss out on the dance (sorry I have really bad people pleasing issues)

i'll see if i can use headphones or earplugs but i dont have any that are really helpful

try getting semi noise cancleing or noise cancling headphonesncause it sounds like they would be very helpful for you

put it also sounds like your parents are not the best at letting you do that sooo
