||Everyone hates the scene where Ryuji gets beat up by the end of Shido's palace, so instead of wanting to remove the scene itself like a normal person let's just have him actually die in the explosion and have that be a major plot point||

What I imagine this potential mod doing is:
||- After Shido's treasure's been stolen, Ryuji just disappears, his confidant can no longer progress, he can't be used in mementos, he's just gone||

||- When it comes to the story, he'll of course be completely gone during the Yaldabaoth arc with appropriate dialogue changes, he'll come back during Third Semester with a new arc for him for well obvious reasons, after Third Semester, he'll be gone once again (this is where I image the difficulty of actually trying to implement this in-game as this would involve trying to scrub him from the 2D cutscenes||

Anyways that's it for my stupid ass idea lol, sorry if I couldn't go into detail as much as I would like naosmiley

party member availability is just a bitflag iirc so theoretically thatd actually be the easy part, not sure about confidant availability and as you said its a lot of event editing lol but it seems doable tbh

It would be really funny if he got removed from the cutscenes like that (since it can play in engine with CBT) along with his lines but nothing else changes so the camera just pans to nothing and there’s an awkward silence whenever he’s supposed to talk

I'm conflicted. Ryuji getting beaten up is really funny, so it would be kind of sad to lose that. On the other hand, Ryuji dying from the most preventable thing possible is even more hilarious.

There are people on this server who ship Ryuji with Ann, despite the fact that he constantly makes sexist comments towards her, pervs on her and she isn't giving him the time of day at any moment in the entire game.... so I think there is a lot of subjectivity going around when it comes to perception. Some people might see those interactions as endearing jokes, while we think this scene of Ryuji getting beaten to a pulp is an endearing gag scene.

I think killing our skullhead off completely is a little overkill to address that situation, but narratively it could add some weight to the vanilla ending of the game.

Ryuji got his leg injured by Kamoshida, but he is also physically fit and gets into rough and tumble situations all the time. People seem to think he has some kind of PTSD about getting hit or something, even though he literally offers his former club members to beat the shit out of him without hesitation or fear. Ryuji is not a delicate flower who can't be treated roughly sometimes and he would be the last person who wants to be treated with silk gloves. It's not like the situation with Ann, who literally got sexually harrassed and blackmailed by Kamoshida being comically thrown at a guy she doesn't know with the premise of having to be painted nude by him. Pressured into that situation by her own friends at that.... After she repeatedly refused and was clearly distressed about it.

I find the situation reproachable. And even then, I still could laugh at the scene where Ann dresses in like 50 coats. Because that was a good gag.
