Yeah one of my biggest complaints for the game is everyone kinda revolves around joker and doesn’t really interact with each other much. I mean obviously they do but it’s main story stuff with the occasional bits like the beach trip. I would have liked to see some 1 on 1 interactions without joker. There’s a few but not enough

also while i do think the mementos dialogue is charming, the problem is that its mostly 'character says x, random character responds with one line', so there isnt a lot of interaction between them even though they are talking with each other

i always just stuck the file being imported in the same folder as the importing file and then at the top of the importing file put import("file_being_imported.flow");
(i dont think it has to be placed exactly like that, i think the import function just expects a relative path, its just what i find convenient)
(as well, with bf emulator you dont have to import the vanilla file since emulator handles that itself)

Speaking of the anime, I heard it was a horrifying train wreck. So I watched it in english. It wasn’t that terrible but it’s also possible I was just so entertained by hearing it in English. I feel when I watch it in Japanese it will feel like a pretty standard adaptation. I liked some of the extras they put in at the end…(the spirit jail and stuff)

But I feel the anime should have either prepared for Royal or did what the stage show did

The stage show sort of wrapped up around Shido and Shido’s palace and it felt very final. Shido was the one who put Ren on his path and was the puppet master, Akechi had been revealed and everything had come full circle.

But in the anime things felt unfinished.

The stage show I knew there was more because Hell, I played Royal but for a 4 part 4 hour each stage show series it worked really well.

(Especially fuelling the last two between my knowledge of Japanese and a delightfully literal auto translator)

This might sound weird because of how outrageous her palace is but I immediately thought of Sae’s palace.

Hear me out:

It’s not about the Palace but about Makoto and Sae. For some reason I just think of childhood and happier times when I hear this. They’ve forgotten their happy childhood and cling to it so a saferoom that might conjure up memories of happier times would be thematic.

I also think there is no harm with a saferoom being dissonant to a palace’s theme.

That could just be me but going with that:

Aside from Makoto and Sae you could also use it for Futaba’s palace (since she’s trying to remember her childhood)

And even Madarame although that might be a little twisted since he had so little time with his mother. So any happy childhood memories would be with Madarame when that 1-2% sliver of good slipped through.

Oh… and it’s up to you, but what if the thieves notice the music playing in the safe rooms? It always seemed like in the original P5 like we were going to learn something about them in the safe rooms and other than in KamoshittyMan’s palace we never quite did.

i have a hard time voting on some of these bc i just find a lot of p5 confidants are too samey in terms of structure

like you can keep them roughly the same in terms of rough points but yeah they're super samey lol (i don't think most need substantial rewrites, but some changes to many would be nice)

Anyway, i was thinking that some confidants will require some 'significant' tweaks to make more sense with a femc. For example, Makoto's 'pretend boyfriend' (ohya has a similar deal but its not important at all so i wouldnt count changing it significant)

Kinda funny how with only swapping pronouns, you have the sleazy boyfriend(yknow, the ones that rope girls into sketchy 'night' jobs) just being super chill with you and makoto being a lesbian couple lol
