#Keep getting this error

Alright so i finally get what your issue is. I chatted with ChatGPT and found the solution ill send you a screenshot.
- Open config in Aemulus and set output to be your mods folder from emu (right click the game from emulator and go to mod folder)
ROM path: where your xci/nsp file is and select it
Emulator path: select the yuzu.exe or ryujinx.exe
- In the Aemulus folder go to Originals and in there create a folder named: Persona 5 Royal (Switch)
- Open RYUJINX (you only need it for this step and then you can delete) and right click the game after you set your directory etc. and click the bottom option (Extract Data) and extract the ExeFS and RomFS into the folder you just created in step 2
- Open config in Aemulus and click Unpack Base Files. Wait for that to finish and you'll see when with the console.
- On Aemulus click the hammer icon
wait for this on the console
i hope it helps @merry swan
this was done for pc btw im not sure if itll work on the switch hardware
@merry swan
I'm using on actual switch hardware
What does the console (under the error) say?
and did you confirm that exact path actually exists?
i didnt want to post here because i dont personally work with switch mods but seeing this thread i uhh think ill do it anyway
anyway
i dont think youre supposed to have %s in a file path, im kinda surprised windows let you do it at all. beyond that though, when you say you "followed the github instructions" what do you actually mean? (ie. you unpacked vanilla files, downloaded and enabled mods, set build path and such and then built?)
aemulus should make this folder for you and if it doesnt you have a broken aemulus
the actual correct step would be "dump game, extract its romfs somewhere, click 'unpack original files' in aemulus config window, and when prompted select the folder you dumped the romfs to"
if you are going to simply give setup instructions, there are publicly available guides you can link instead of regurgitating genai slop text that isnt even fully correct
If you don't know the solution to their problem, you don't have to say anything. Especially DON'T use genAI tools like ChatGPT, it is frequently unhelpful and can oftentimes just make things worse. This is your only warning, don't do it again.
this is possibly the worst advice you could ever give someone trying to troubleshoot something
It worked for me and I had the same problem in my case with that window that's why I suggested it
You did not have the same problem. You needed basic setup instructions (which btw we linked guides when you asked and you ignored them in favor of an LLM that only "knows" what it scraped from those same guides and wasn't even fully correct), whereas OP was getting a specific error message after presumably already setting up the program.
The only thing I didn't do is unpacked the vanilla files because I have a digital copy and not a physical copy.
vanilla files are a requirement as theyre needed for merging unfortunately
is it not possible to dump a digital download of a switch game?
I tried to do it but it didn't let me. I tried using the nexdumptool thing the guide recommends yet apparently I can only do it with a physical copy
theres not some switch cfw tool thats widely used for dumping games in general?
I honestly don't know, I'm just following the guide
The first guide mentioned it.
I should use the "Nexdumptool" yet it didn't let me
Plus, I tired using the CPK builder application and the "PATCH1.CPK" file thing but it didn't work at all
Is this guide even up to date or
from what i can tell aemulus automates pretty much everything in that guide
anyway
some googling led me to this page, though i dont mod switch as i dont have a hackable one so idk how up to date it is
Eh, Well I'm gonna try it if it worked
Why is it russian???

If you want to dump titles from your SysNAND, and want to run CFW on your SysNAND, read this guide.
