I've been considering what to do with the Makoto hair and Alternate bangs models I've recovered. I tought about adding them as optional download on my Alternate models page, but I think I'll make a separate page for them both

That way, it'll be easier to notice they've been reuploaded

Also, I don't think I'll always be able to give them the same level of polish as my model mod, so putting them on a separate mod page makes sense (if only to sort the bug reports, if there are any)

I'll look into updating the model mod and uploading the two others in the coming weeks

I've had multiple reports of "Joker" when talking to the team members at the entrance of a palace (or here), where you can pick them for your party. It's weird because I'm 100% I have edited those dialogues and I've never been able to figure out why it's happening to other people (or which mod is causing this). iirc, it's working on my end

Was brainstorming some ideas for yusuke, may be a bit different from what you’d want but I’ll throw it out just in case

For rank 9 after you confess he would straight up reject you, but since he appreciates you he says he’ll play along, accepting this would go to the “romance” route

By choosing that you’d still be able to go with him on valentines and white day, but it’d be a bit more friendly than romantic

And for the rank 10 “romance” event maybe he could teach her how to paint, with some funny dialogue at the end where he asks for the nude portrait

Afterwards any event that has the museum would replace one of the pictures with a portrait of her

it might not be exactly identical to the one used in game but I did make this edit myself. If you mean other outfits/expressions I've also got plenty of those, I made as many as I could possibly figure out at the time, I do plan on making some further adjustments soon though since I'm more experienced with editing now and feel more confident in being able to get smaller details (ie different eye shapes even in poses where I can't just directly copy and paste from the Two bustups she has in canon)

adjust for the different eye shapes (may not be applicable to the sad expressions where her eyes are partially closed? but definitely for other portraits), lip colour is different, the highlights in her hair should be a little lighter, I think the nose is slightly different too

these were some of my earliest attempts at editing so I mostly just did a recolour and added the beauty mark so I wanna go back and be a bit more thorough with the small details

if anybody wanna use the ones I've currently got you're free to, just let me know so I can DM you or @ you once I've made the more updated versions, just credit me if you use them for anything public. I wasn't able to do every single outfit and expression combo but I edited together as many as I could at the time

Just how was the warning about the adult romances not being supported coded in? I have tried returning it to the original "I will have to choose my words carefully...", but it always gets overwritten by the warning again. Which is odd, because all my other changes stay intact. As far as I can see the code's the exact same between the two. Is there some kind of higher priority change that imposes the warning?

You might need to remove the "001" from the materials even with this script, but you'll only have to do it only once by material

I usually run the script, export the model, import it again and then manually tweak the names because I'm not sure it deletes all the duplicates, just remap them

It already removes a lot of menial tasks by reassigning the duplicated textures. I've found doing this manually too risky because the textures names are too similar so you might reassign a specular texture to a shadow texture, etc

I've only edited the text, but there's a trick.
In some events, some dialogues will enable flags (like the romance flag). BMDs only contains text dialogues so the game also needs an associated BF file to make it work. That BF file also contains the same dialogues I've edited with the warning and it's actually those that are displayed in game, not those in the BMD.
For instance, for Kawakami rank 9 (E714_091.BMD), you need to edit the text in P5REssentials\CPK\EN.CPK\EVENT_DATA\SCRIPT\E700\E714_091.BF

Just download the rose & violet mod folder, open the pictures with Paint.net and you should view the pictures fully

@random hinge quick question, I loved what you did with adding some of the unused scenes back with the mod and was wondering if you'd be able to do that with the rest of them? A few others are making a mod that does this but it doesnt work with R&V, and its still far from finished (at this point it might not drop at all). Would also be willing to c*mission it if need be

I've added some unused events to R&V, but it's not really a "restoration" of them. I've made them mandatory because I call them through the scheduler on specific days, which is the easiest way to do it. What you see in R&V is the most events I could add, either because I don't think they should waste a timeslot or because they worked well to add more screentime to Sumire.
I've considered adding other events, but I've ran into some issues:

• I don't think they should all be made mandatory (like Haru's Shinjuku hangouts). I've attempted to figure out how the optional invites work, but no success here
• I don't know where/when to enable them all. Those tied to specific interactions in field (like the unused event with Akechi/Sumire in Maruki's palace), I have no idea how that works in game.
• Those events are more often than not unfinished. I've had to edit them quite a bit to tweak the animations or make them feel less empty by adding props/npcs/etc.
• Some events no longer exist in the files, like the Hawaii "Kamehameha" event. I can't remake it from scratch.

So it's going to be quite a bit of work to restore the rest of them

If it's to make R&V compatible with a mod that restores them, I can probably figure something out

• For the non mandatory events that are still in the files would it maybe be possible to add a config option for them? Wouldn’t be able to skip them on an event by event basis, but would still give the player the option to see them
• For the ones that aren’t is it even possible to port them over to pc from vanilla ps3/royal ps4? Not asking you to do that since it’s way outside the scope of the mod, just curious
• If RRP ever does get finished (the mod that adds all the events back in) it would be awesome to see a compatibility patch, afaik if both mods have a scheduler for a certain month the game will just crash when a new day starts
• It also has a script for calling the will seed events from in the field, so maybe that could be reused somehow to call the kasumi/akechi event? Idk, wish I could help more there

For “tying specific interactions to a field”, trust me, it’s a pain in the ass

You’d need to create a “trigger” in the field’s HTB (corresponding to an area in the field the player HAS to move through) that then calls the event in the bf script.

But you’d also have to add a new “entrance” to the field (via FBN), so you can put Joker back where he was after the event ends.

You’d also need a global way of knowing that the event has been run, like an unused flag or Count, to make sure it doesn’t run again.

It’s a bit of a hassle
