there's damage+debuff in a lot of games
i'm saying its even more unbalanced than buff+buff in persona
damage+buff invalidates regular buffs because they can also generate turns through one more
kaja skills become useless
I think part of the reason skills with debuffs work in other games like sh2 and sexturne is because the base skills are aoe by default
So there is a tangible downside
It could be a fun idea to add the sh2 combo skills but I worry they'll be too over encompassing

if junpei can just aoe rakukaja this invalidates the mechanic

or aoe tarunda as well

kinda same with empress/emperor even though it's a tutorial fight
rakukaja and tarunda being aoe will invalidate the entire fight even more
since you can just maintain buff effortlessly
in early game choosing when and who to buff is important
my concern with combo buffs is also it not playing very well with lategame
buff attack and defense in one go, and you're good to go
i guess the enemy would also decrease more of your stats
but that's easily negated

why not tackle the root of the problem and make them not an extreme killshot, or alternatively, attune the rate of theurgia charge lower such that they don't need to be banned?

It's not remotely close to a "guess what the developer is thinking" moment comparatively to Elizabeth. The punish does not guarantee a gameover, it's just a very strong combination of retaliatory moves. You used your strongest move, Nyx returns the favor

No, I will not nerf Theurgia even more. No, I will not nerf Amageddon, particularly Armageddon is non-negotiable. The move is too iconic to remove and I will not budge on that.

Every theurgy so far, including Bleeding Fury, Hack n Blast, and Scarlet Havoc has been relatively balanced so far in MQ. Yes, they are excessive damage-dealing moves, but setting them up is much tougher in MQ as you lose all gauge at the start of a battle and survivability is a higher challenge. I feel like I've incorporated the overpowered nature of these moves and turned it into an earned aid towards the win condition rather than a literal free win button. Armageddon is generally the exception, but all bosses are HP-capped on 1/31, and there are no usable SP items anymore, so throwing Armageddon willy-nilly is suicide. It being the final blow at the very end of a battle is fine. That is the intention behind making Nyx have 20k HP as well. Enabling Armageddon as the final blow, but punishing you if used too early.

Arguably, the punish might not even be needed: Armageddon is virtually suicide due to you losing all SP, and you need several King and Is/Scarlet Havocs to finish off Nyx. Frankly I added Scarlet Havoc to the punish list with vanilla P3N balance in mind but I'm not even sure it's applicable anymore
