i'm actually gonna attempt to do part of this just to see how it goes lol

#

wiping all out doesn't have a loop?

#

using foobar to check loops and it's not saying there is one

#

is there a better tool for checking existing loops?

cedar flame
#

are you just looking at 122.ADX or are you looking at something else?

#

in any case, that looks like the proper loop

turbid gale
#

122.adx in the base files

#

is that audacity?

cedar flame
#

yeah

turbid gale
#

i really gotta keep that program installed

cedar flame
#

I don't know if audacity can show the loop points itself but the song itself goes to 3662450

#

yeah audacity is like essential for music and sound edits haha

turbid gale
#

it's not an exact one to one obv

#

so i have to pull my own loop points

#

and im struggling hard with that lmao

cedar flame
#

yeah that was probably what was going to happen lol

#

the hardest part is really finding a good point to loop, I do it manually with audacity
basically finding a point that sounds like a decent loop point, and then testing it out and seeing how it sounds, repeat a few times over until i get a good result

#

it's not actually hard per say it's just annoying - audacity is really nice bc you can directly input samples as time instead of min:sec

turbid gale
#

do you have a guide for how you enable loop points in this?

cedar flame
#

have the codec set to ADX instead of hca

#

but otherwise pretty much the same process

#

oh and because the ADX files are loose in the P3P files you don't technically need to use FEmulator, you can just throw it in P5REssentials like how the P3P HQ music pack does it

turbid gale
#

oh im doing this for PSP first

cedar flame
#

oh well there you go lol, shouldn't be too hard to port to P3P PC though!
if you can just replace loose ADX files with aemulus then that should be straightforward (not familiar with Aemulus bc I started learning to mod after P4G64 dropped)

turbid gale
#

alrighty

#

how did you open the adx and view it in audacity?

cedar flame
#

export from foobar2000 as a wav

turbid gale
#

ohhh that makes sense

cedar flame
#

i took a brief look at the song you sent, and start: 80916 + end: 7651407 sounds... ok as a loop

#

unfortunately due to the changes in the song it doesn't really sound perfect

turbid gale
#

yeah that's gonna be the hard part

cedar flame
#

you could try doing some stuff like fading into the start of the loop again, but other than that this is probably beyond my knowledge haha

turbid gale
#

alrighty

cedar flame
#

might see how that sounds actually

turbid gale
#

i think i found a good loop too but it's like barely half the song

cedar flame
turbid gale
#

i have no idea how to export it to show you

#

a loop i got that's sorta alright

#

but it's barely any of the song like i said

cedar flame
#

at the bottom there's like this thing here, that's what I use to get loop points

turbid gale
#

weird

#

i have two different points selected but it's the same number

cedar flame
#

did a small edit to make this work but when you loop it I think it sounds good enough

#

if you have a way of getting a higher quality audio file that would probably help further

turbid gale
#

my audio guy's computer died so i can't get higher quality for now

#

literally just downloaded straight from youtube

cedar flame
#

i noticed lol

turbid gale
#

hahahaha

#

yeah i think your adx should work

#

lemme test now

cedar flame
#

oh that's a wav i think you still need to convert it

#

here's what I did for reference

#

do that, then either mix and render or you can just export it as a wav and audacity will mix it for you

turbid gale
#

yeah i converted it already

#

sorry, do what? i barely understand what i'm looking at lol

cedar flame
#

after that point, on the top track, that's where the song ends and the applause starts. i just applied a fade out effect to it

#

the track on the bottom is the start of the track

#

basically i copied over the circled (in red) section from the beginning to the end
then for your loop points they end up being the green lines

#

does that make sense? it's kinda hard to explain by text but i hope it makes some sense lol

turbid gale
#

i think my brain is smooth because i understood none of that lmao

#

can confirm the adx works and loops well

cedar flame
#

oof
yeah it makes sense for me bc i actually learned audacity in like middle school so i've uhhh known this stuff for years lol

cedar flame
turbid gale
#

yeah i do

cedar flame
#

awesome

turbid gale
#

it sounds pretty good on an actual PSP

cedar flame
#

i was about to say i was gonna try it on PC instead of PSP lol

turbid gale
#

sure the audio quality is ass compared to PC

cedar flame
#

let me give it a shot

turbid gale
#

i think that's where i'm gonna leave it lmao

#

leave this kind of mod to the professionals

#

didn't even do much and it still hurt my head

cedar flame
#

looks like it worked! just the sound quality is kinda iffy but well that would be fixed with a better source lol

#

maybe i oughta make a guide on gb for looping custom music haha

turbid gale
#

yeah please do

#

i'm still stuck on even getting the sample number to show up lmao

cedar flame
#

are you using the latest version of audacity?

turbid gale
#

yeah

#

from the website

cedar flame
#

that's probably why yours looks a little different bc i'm on 3.0.2

#

lol

#

i'd have to look at how they changed the menu but i'm not sure how easy it is to have two installs

turbid gale
#

do you not left click and drag to make a loop?

#

it's looping but not showing up in the selection

cedar flame
turbid gale
#

you left click and drag inside of the audio track apparently >.>

#

very dumb

#

yeah like i said

#

leave it to the professionals

#

not an active project, still a suggestion

cedar flame
#

ohhhh yeah it's the same for old audacity

#

didnt realize you werent dragging inside the audio track

turbid gale
#

compiled as many sources as i could into a list

Minato's swag theme, as everyone says. Could be Madoka's too, considering the amount of people around her, but that's usually Wiping All Out. Not that it's no exception.

#

obviously try and find some higher quality rips than youtube, but these are the preferred select performances

#

tried to find ones that matched the vibe or exceeded it, only one that doesn't fit is deep breath deep breath

turbid gale
#

screw it\

#

im proud of my progress, ill make it

#

will ask for opinions on what songs to use

#

use this version of time or stick with base?

#

it's definitely growing on me now

#

still feels a little sad

#

why tf is there 5 different live arrangments for mass destruction

turbid gale
#

in case anyone is making music mods for the first time themselves

#

close your eyes, and try and see if you can feel the loop

#

if you can, change it lmao

turbid gale
#

hmmm

#

got burn my dread last battle working

#

but i couldn't get a good loop

#

i'm testing in game and during the battle, considering it's basically automatic, you won't hear it unless you wait around

#

try and improve?

#

if anyone wants to check this out on PC and let me know how it goes, feel free

#

think this might be it, im pretty sure i'm out of tracks

#

unless anyone knows a good source for these few songs?

cedar flame
#

no idea about the rest but you probably won't need mass destruction fes at least since that never plays in portable afaik

turbid gale
#

oh does it not play? that’s good to know

#

i think a few others do exist, but the last two i worked on i couldn’t find individual videos for

#

i had to download the entire concert and cut it to the song

#

so somewhere in the 6 or 7 concert videos, are some of the remaining songs

turbid gale
#

i think i kinda trapped myself with a song

#

and i'm really unable to make a satisfying loop

#

my current loop is 180071 start and 9786859 end

#

it's just sooooooooooooooooo close

#

but right at the end there's some a small slight difference it throws everything off

#

think i got it?

#

it still feels off

#

182250 start 9786859 end
