Alright so I want some links to various pages on the internet that I would be able to study how to mod a lower resolution into a mod for persona 5 switch
Simply put turn persona 5 into a lower resolution so I can run the kasumi as protagonist mod on there
I can try looking into it, although it'll probably have to be made as a whole standalone mod if it is translated due to the amount of text content in it + the lack of bmd emulator
if I find out why it's crashing I'll forward that to you and Zylvos and then you can ask them for permission to do a translation if you would like to
probably… but I think the problem might be due to data differences between the NAME.TBL in EN.CPK and the NAME.TBL in JP.CPK.
When loading or editing the Japanese version of NAME.TBL with P5NameTBLEditor_v1.0.1, an exception error occurs and editing is not possible.
When Rose & Violet is enabled, the game runs up to the title screen, but crashes immediately when the main game starts.

Hmm... As expected, it crashes the moment the main story starts.
The Reloaded console also crashes without catching the error.

The address itself is basically the same for both EN and JP.
So i thik if the address to read has changed has been modified, it will call an address that does not exist in the vanilla JP.NAME.TBL, which is why you're getting an error.

Two things! Just noticed Kasumi is doing the Third doctor Pose in the battle icons. YES. Also, there is a amazing P3Portable themed video based around Ren/Kasumi that might be give you some ideas/a collaborator for the Joker over Sumi mod. If nothing else it's a lot of fun. It was nice to see Soul Phrase playing a "what if" with Ren and Kasumi as MC and FeMC

I'm not entirely sure that's easily fixable without a custom command (like Custom Bonus Tweaks has), because the character being considered a female unit is a flag in the combat unit data for the Protagonist

so people can still use an all girl group if they chose

thats not a glitch, that's intended by the game.
There's actually a bug where finishing a battle with a Persona skills makes the protag keep the black face during the result screen

if you mean the dark face thing, yes it's an animation in the emt, it's a material animation specifically
its a combination of 2 things iirc, the animation is in the emt but it is called by the facial dat file
worth noting that oftentimes the material animations in P5R work by material id and not the actual material name
so for example it could be that the game expects something to be the 5th material but something else is in there instead
this is the reason why the combat outfits have the face materials ordered all in the same exact way for any specific character

which is just the vanilla model, I assume the facial dat is trying to call a joker anim that isnt there
although knowing it's called by facial.dat is a good start

I was able to change the persona names by editing the Japanese version's NAME.TBL.
Arsene → Cendrillon
Raoul → Vanadis
Satanael → Ella

I also changed the names of the melee weapons and guns.
All that's left is the description, but it doesn't work well in StringEditor, so i have to check the contents of the msg file and edit each one by matching it with the ID, which takes a bit of time.
Joker's voice still remains. Even when I disabled the "Joker Voice pack"

Still learning how to port mods and trying to find ways to keep it in the memory limit I got it working on citron by reducing the resolution but figured that ain’t a good solution so I’m looking down different paths besides resolution an animation to see if there’s anything else I can do to the mod to make it where it’s playable

I was confused at first as well. But it sounds like you are trying to port the mod not to the Switch version of the game, but to the Citron (emulated Switch) version? And you were already able to successfully get the files over, but you just had to lower the resolution? That sounds like your issue is on the Citron side of things then. It's not the mod or the data, it's how the emulator is struggling to process it.
I was doing some testing on it to see if different resolutions could help launch it that was it I’m more focused on animations and stuff to port it over to the switch however I’m looking into different roots to see if there are any other viable solutions for it to launch properly on switch version so far it only worked on citron not the switch version so I’m working on the project so it can run on switch this was just a test earlier of the pictures I posted.
If it was a working product for the switch I would have posted it after all it’s a switch port not an emulator port I’m working on.
Got it, so you were testing on Citron (which is why outside assets weren't an issue, but "file size" was, and why it was able to work with a resolution change, maybe?) My guess would be to look and see if the mod added any new assets (any new models for the fixed object-interaction animations maybe?) If you're trying to get it to work on hardware for the switch (and you've already figured out how to get all the dependency mods working first (like Costume Framework, etc...) Then you're going to need to make sure it's only using files and assets that are in the base game, otherwise the Switch won't understand what files the mod is trying to edit/replace. It doesn't sound like porting a mod like this is just going to be a file size issue. It's going to be a programming/game asset availability issue.
(granted, porting mods is waaaaay over my head. But I'm used to the frustrations of trying to mod a hardware version of a game vs. a pc version. So I feel you.)

there is a way to cut down animation file size without any actual loss but its more technical than what you might be able to do as it has to do with how animations are exported
the game supports "compressed" animation keyframes
a lot of custom animations are whole uncompressed keyframe type (which is just raw PRS frames)

In "Takemi's CO-OP," in the scene where medicine is taken as part of a clinical trial, the position of the beaker is unnatural. There's also the phenomenon of the contents not decreasing.
Also, when eating curry, the spoon's movements are off.

Currently it's not possible to fix the floating items
Some items have their own animations instead of just being bound to the helper bone
And item skeletons don't import correctly into blender
Even if they did there's no really good way to preview what edits would look like in-game without exporting and reopening the game s bunch of times

Personally, I swapped around a few of the sword models for my own personal build so they'd match the name changes in the Weapons & Equipment patch. (eg: I think number 3 is the Silver Dagger/Silver Rapier model, so I swapped 3 and 2 by renaming the GMD files to match. I also replaced WP0004.GMD with a copy of WP0003 since that's the model used by the Royal Dagger/Royal Rapier.)
I believe WP0009 is Arsene's Cane/The Great Thief Stick. Sometime, I really oughta try making a texture edit of WP0010 to match the Enchanted/Moonlit Rapier you get from executing Cendrillon in this mod.
That's not to throw any shade at the actual mod. JustAdam did a fantastic job importing all these models. I just like to tinker with stuff.

Yukata have shorter sleeves, and footwear is typically bare feet with sandals. You might notice the difference when comparing them to NPCgirls or Ann or Makoto's yukata.

There's an event where a friend comes to Leblanc on a holiday to spend time together. (Yusuke or Ryuji or Futaba)
After spending the daytime together, if you choose to spend the night as well, there's an action called “Go to the public bath” among the nighttime activities. Selecting this takes protagonist to the men's bath with Ryuji or Yusuke!!
I think it would be better to either hide the “Go to the public bath” option itself or edit the event.
While this is an event rarely choose during normal play, if the kind of player who likes P5R enough to install these mods, I think there's a fair amount of possibility they'd choose it.
The relevant events are e760_501 and e760_811.
This is one I'm aware of, I was planning on just doing an overhaul for that entire system as a separate mod

It's not compatible since it doesn't use Costume Frameworks. Even if it did, it would require Wisteria and I to make a similar cutin for Kasumi, which would require reusing the mods files (it's a bit more advanced than what we have going on in our mods)
I think the best way to proceed would be to make it a configure option. It'll require the mod author permission either way

The seated meditation pose at that temple in Kichijoji boosts protagonists SP, but i think the lotus position after the third time is tough for high school girls.
I think the seiza pose keeps your back straighter and suits Kasumi better.

the blend anim is calling for the material to go away so it should go away, its not present in blend anim 26

The mask seem to disappear correctly when using a Persona
However, it still takes some time to reappear during the victory animation and the face still plays the animation
Which is very noticeable when the option is disabled
you know its odd I have never had that pop up
but maybe its because I only ever really run rin's outfit or loungeware with ponytail

It seems to happen when the protag gives the killing blow when targeting a weakness/criting (which makes the cutin happen and makes the animation last longer)
