The other assets used in the mod seem to be based on kasumi's design (no mole) so I probably won't to be consistent. This mod in particular doesn't alter the overarching story so I'm not sure what exactly the intent would be there in regards to Kasumi vs Sumire design. It would be easy to add though if there were plans to make changes like that. And if other mods that do alter the story want a version with a mole I would be happy to provide them

dont know if this is a bug or not but when I use Kotone outfit it plays both the original battle bgm for the male protag from P3 just thought I might say it here but if there is somewhere else I can put this problem then I will
thats intended, hamuko/kotone only really has like 2 battle themes and when it was just p3p wiping all out/q2 pull the trigger it got very repetitive
which is why i ended up adding danger zone, mosq's mixes, and mass destruction fes to the pool
MD -fes- fits anyways since its technically the aigis battle theme and we can assume the answer happens after p3p

modding is kind of the worst because all of my p5r saves are random scattered saves from various dates i use for testing and if i overwrite one of them with new data it would make my life more annoying
really missing how easy it is to change profiles on switch
you can just go into appdata and move around save folders/files
but i yearn to be lazy
i also have no idea where my ng+ clear data went
apparently i forgot to edit the save animation
i never caught it because i would literally never save when i was testing

I'd like to take on a Japanese translation job, but I've only just started studying mods and don't have much knowledge. I think I could do it if I was given instruction on how to edit.

News for the switch port there has been little progress the skeleton still crashes the port thinking on ways to help with the memory limit issue any ideas would be helpful.

its attached to the outfit, like in vanilla
shujin bag is used when in shujin clothes
casual brown bag is used while in casual clothes
and the blue bag is used when moving to yongen iirc

actually wiping the cache fixed an issue i was having anyway

@zealous fjord I made a small update to Cendrillon's animations for the awakening. She should no longer rumble around and go stiff. Place this in MODEL\CHARACTER\5901\EVENT if you'd like to use it
(also ignore the japanese voice over jumpscare, i toggled the eng voice patch by accident)

Well, after editing the charset, I finally got a bmd to compile for simplified chinese
not really ideal though since idk what im doing
@plucky rapids i see you've contributed to the AST repo, would you happen to know more info abt tsvs, how they work, how to make them, and why CHS's tsv is broken?
i opened an issue on the ast GH but i havent gotten any kind of response in like 2 months so i figured it might just be worth looking into myself
okay i think this is also just a straight up bug with ast
its throwing errors about characters that arent even in the msg files
like , ~ -
think the only way to fix it is to replace their full width versions with their english width versions in the tsv

although it does seem to break with the current charset since it only has full width latin characters
even if your msg literally has none of those
that being said itd be nice if ast didnt break when theres non full width character equivalents (like . , ~ - etc)
well i got simplified chinese working
though this is more of a proof of concept until ast fixes the issue

Yes, characters in the header need to be present in the charset, as well.
(TSVs are just tab-separated data, which AST uses as a format for compact character encodings.)
I see, hopefully something can be figured out to where both full width and regular width characters can be supported without overwriting the other in the tsv 
That seems like the best solution, I kinda just replaced the full width latin characters with regular width (aside from punctuation) in the tsv which is very much just a bandaid fix

I'm toying with the idea of renaming Raoul's unique Phantom Show skill to something like "Midnight Waltz" to fit with Violet's theme. Since the skill puts enemies to sleep, I think it fits. Could work as an optional toggle, but I'm thinking of adding it to the alternate personas mod since it fits with Ella.
I think Ella's skillset is literally just Satanaels so you're more than welcome to make one if you'd like, just be sure to edit the skillset from my mod to avoid any issues if you want me to add it into the toggle

If those actually do need to be in the charset then that would be a bug, yes. None of the is part of the actual BMD, it's just how script tools formats the file. It shouldn't need to be in the charset.
There's no mechanism for this in script tools rn but in theory it's something that could be added, I think. The easier solution is to just stick with one in your files though.
I think you said something about bf/bmd emulator overriding the charset at some point (I can't find the message now). That's not a thing that it can do and I don't think I'd really want to add it.
With functions it makes sense since the assumption is you're either editing an unused function, so no other mod would use it anyway, or you're aliasing one so it wouldn't matter if another mod used its name. If you applied that to an entire charset I think the chance of breaking stuff between two mods goes way up. If you change from full width to half width then no other mod editing that file can use full width characters. At that point every mod needs to have this same override so the base charset should just be fixed/updated.
Ok, yeah I see how this is annoying. I can't work out what space it's complaining about lol (I'm trying to compile the one in your github issue). I think this is probably just a skill issue though. Could you send an example of a file that's broken due to characters that aren't actually in it? Is that the bug?

Are you sure about that? Message names are part of the BMD and get parsed in-game e.g. for events, in order to select the right one by major/minor ID (which aren't separate fields, for whatever reason). At least as far as I remember.

Yes, I meant the brackets literally. I know that the message name is included in the actual BMD. Brackets are just how script tools knows what's part of the header, same with the word msg, sel, or any of the message tags like [bup 1 1 1]. None of those are included verbatim in the file so there should be no need for charsets for them
Fwiw though I doubt (but can't say for sure) that the charset should matter for the message name since it's not something that's actually displayed to the player. I think they're always just in English anyway (from what I've seen)

Cool, I'll have a look at this some time in the next few days. Updating script tools to support mapping multiple characters to one in the charset probably is the way to go, as you kinda suggested. We'll see though

anyways considering seemingly all of the charsets do support latin characters regardless, support for mapping multiple characters should fix this anyway. a little bit of a bandaid there but idk what languages would have 0 latin characters for this to be an issue

The extra weird part is that it's not the first Latin character in the script that's causing the issue... in both cases, it's the first Latin character after a _ that leads to the error 🤔

Akechi's showtime doesn't have JP dialogue when it's happening, the ending does but not whilst they're actually doing it

@native urchin @wispy temple Apologies for the 2nd ping! I've made SPD emulator compatible versions of your mods if you would like to update them on GB. If you choose to do so you can archive the old versions using the new GB feature! I mainly modified these for compatibility and also so I don't have to include all of the SPDs in the protag sumi options (and I think users would have to disable your mods due to whole SPDs being used)
For EPIC I also updated the thumbnail to fit Reloaded's icon size and edited the mod name so make it easier to search for inside of reloaded :)

Sure! Basically it loads modified SPD sprites individually, which lets you make SPD edits without needing to load the whole SPD

Not to sound like an old person lol, but back in my day, when I made Colorful Battle UI for P5 PS3, I had to move the sprites of Kasumi and Darkechi manually on the spritesheet on Photoshop as well as expanding the sprite box borders by pixels purely by eye until it was 99.9% accurate to P5R

No this was me using PersonaEditor or Amicitia. I discovered on a whim that certain numbers were actually the pixel coordinates of the sprite sheet

this might have been reported already, but sometimes i get a bug where kasumi's mask just disappears when it shouldn't be
for exmaple, on the end screen after a battle
if you end a battle using skill, you get no mask and black face bug. It happens to me too

Oh yeah, Sumire's Showtime audio isn't touched by the mod either.
I can't make any promises especially since I don't know Japanese but I'll have a look at Akechi's showtime audio when I get the time. I personally use the Joker over Sumire mod so Sumire's showtimes didn't even occur to me. I suppose it could work with Rose & Violet, but I don' have any immediate plans to do so atm.
Mindya, audio mods aren't hard to make, so if you ever want pointers, I'm your guy. (I use foobar2000 with the vgmstream plugin to extract game audio, Audacity for editing and PersonaVCE to encode the audio to work in-game.)

Hey ya'll! I LOVE the work that's been put into this, and the newest update is impressive as heck! (updating all of the animations/adjusting the cutscene props seems like it would've been a nightmare, so the fact that ya'll did it is amazeballs.)
Anywhoo, I'm reaching out looking to get some suggestions on what mods to pair with this one, specifically ones that will let me date the guys (which, from what I've seen is a pretty rare commodity, due to the complexity of romance/event modding.)
From what I know, there are only two mods out there that let us do that: Gay/Bi Joker or Female Protagonist. Both of which are great, but come with their own caveats:
Gay/Bi Joker - I believe is probably the most compatible, considering It doesn't really touch the models. (though, I don't know how it plays with the she/her joker mod. ....also, I'm getting mixed info, but I believe it's currently broken and the author is M.I.A. - I've seen some posts about people using this combo in the past, but don't know if it's gunna work if the mod is broken. Anyone have updates/play with this combo currently?
Female Protagonist - I LOVE chlorophylls work on this and have no issues with the design of their FeMc, but their animations and cutscene interactions aren't as clean as ya'lls are with this new update. So, does anyone know of a way to make these two play nice with each other to basically use Fem Protag's event/script/romance changes, but with ya'lls mod overwriting the model and animation data instead?

Rose & Violet's story edits really interested me, but I was deterred from using it, because I was specifically looking to date the guys, and R&V's info on their gamebanana page mentioned that that wasn't in the scope or plans for their mod. So it's really awesome to hear that you are working on an expansion for it!
- For gay joker, do you mean it causes issues with R&V or with the Kasumi as Protagonist mod? (also, people in the replies/comments on it's GB page were saying that it's not triggering events/dates, which I thought meant it was like, broken broken, so I've just been avoiding it all together. gay joker worked fine for me. i think some of the dates might have been broken by the 1.04 update
and it causes conflict with r&v
the gay joker mod will also not have fitting dialogue for kasumi. she of course will eb acting like joker
r&v added many chanegs to kasumi's dialogue choices to fit her personality
it might be jarring
and the vanilla ending cutscene added by the mod will not play, since they both use the same SCHEDULER_3.BF file
if you really want to use it, place it below r&v
1.0.4 shouldnt affect that, all that would be in flowscript not exe hooks
bustups can be buggy since persona essentials's bustup param merging (which was added after 1.0.4) doesnt work right but it shouldnt otherwise be relevant
i've only seen people say the dates have stopepd working for some reason
it might be an unhardcoded romance thing
since uhr added new romance falgs, but it has a compatabiltiy layer coded in for gay joker
i suspect it may not be overriding some of the flags
it doesnt add flags per se so much as make game check existing flags for romance

unhardcoded romance was broken for a while but was updated ages ago already
and should only really matter for like confidant menu hearts and such
not scheduler stuff
well, the flags are needed to activate valentines day, dates, etc
and 1.0.4 still doesnt matter as both setting the flags and checking the flags for events would be flowscript
also the "i'm already in a relationship with someone else..." thing. i had to go through every romance to add the check for their flags
i'm not sure what the bug is then. i haven't tested the dates yet since i haven't gotten to that part of development
i might be able to catch some kind of error, or setting the "new" bitflags might fix it
OH! I didn't know R&V actually edited interactions with other characters! That's totally a plus! That means I wouldn't need to figure out how to make the she/her mod compatible either. My first thought was to use a combination of Kasumi as Protagonist with She/Her and the Gay Joker mod. ...but if you're working on male romances for R&V, and R&V is doing all that, then It's probably my best option to just hold out on playing p5 until you finish up your expansion. lol. ^_^

I've just been avoiding Gay Joker based on the comments on the Gamebananna page. It sounded like the mod wasn't loading the dates or romance events, which..... was the whole reason I was interested in Gay Joker instead of the Female Protagonist mod (which is great for the social link edits, but doesn't feature any dates or holiday events yet.)
currently i’m playing with kasumi as protagonist and gay joker, it didn’t work as intended. Tried to change mod order, but even so it failed 🙁

huh. i called plenty of events and it worked
so it's not an event error
it has to be something with the scheduler then , if the events are loading fine with mod menu
if youre doing substantial event editing it might not be good for said events since you cant currently force a message id. i feel like there are things in the mod that could be safely converted though, and imo if you dont need to call messages by id you should use merging for better compatibility
these events were designed for p5r essentials, so unless i go in and change something, it probably does that. and if i change it, at that point i mgiht as well make my own events.
the issue is just that evts call messages by id instead of name, most bfs just use name so it isnt an issue for them
i'm going to be trying my hand at editing akechi, but i'm going to be building on unused and existing events
i remember being so mad i finished my playthrough like right before it came out lol

i should add ability to force message id, i thought about it when making bmd emulator but didnt bc i didnt realize there were actual cases where it could be needed...

I think there is likely a way to separate femjoker's romances into a separate mod, but that could only be done for private use
And it would be better for Chloro to separate it themself
idk how to reach Chloro outside of gb messages, and even then they never responded to one of mine - i guess you could try commenting on femjoker's mod page with a request to move the romances to a standalone mod (or request permission to do it yourself)
i think you can probably just load femjoker before my mod and it should work regardless, the animations and models from mine should overwrite femjoker's as long as CF's joker slot is set to 1
oh, for sure! I was just looking at work-arounds for personal play. I know Chloro has already done so freaking much with the scope of the Fem Protagonist mod, so I would never assume to just ask them to change something they already made. ^_^
That was my first hope, but I assumed it would be too good to be true. lol. I didn't know if the animations/models would conflict and cause issues, or if yours would just overwrite theirs.
Mine should overwrite theirs, no idea how it'll play in regards to the boys bathhouse event being turned into an Ann and Sumire bath chat but it should hopefully be fine

it is not possible to make Kasumi as tall as Joker to fix those skeleton issue with regards to animations right? it could break the outfits
changing event files to for example, move the coffee cup closer would be a lot easier than that lol
also stretched kasumi would be cursed
I think altering the skeleton like that would end up messing up Kasumi's animation rigging. I don't know how Persona 5 handles their animation rigging, but I would think modifying the skeleton would force her mesh to stretch in weird ways to meet the math of her animations.

those aren't skeleton issues with the items anyway
some items (mainly cutscene ones) have their own animations and aren't attached to a characters hands
isn't it just where the object is placed in the event file
and currently there's no way to edit their animations (not like I'd want to anyway)
depends, most of the time items are attached to the helper bones
which are usually near the hands
sometimes items just have their own animation
which is where the floating objects comes from
regardless I uh
don't think molding her skeleton to fit jokers would be a good solution to an issue that shows up a handful of times
you could probably size her model(s) and skeletons up to be taller if you wanted (without just stretching one axis) but I have no interest in doing that
it wouldn't fix floating items anyway
is there any way to maybe move her up on the pillow in her room or pan the camera lower in some events?
camera editing? not really
I can just move her root bone in the animations up but I would have to do that for a lot of animations
you could also just edit the evt but I don't want to fill my mod up with a bunch of evt files
^ thing I've already done for a lot of anims anyway
and considering the bed animations are repeated in a bunch of random gaps it would cause inconsistencies I don't want to deal with
if someone else wants to do it they can, the usage permission allows it
but I'm not dealing with all of those animations again
as for camera editing blender tools for GFS doesn't really support cameras
there's only one camera edit and it's for the prologue violet cutscene
and I'm not even sure how or why I was able to edit that camera
I love that you added miku from the Collab in the music video, they have the rest of the Phantom thieves as vocaliods could you let me know where you got the model because I’m hoping to edit the outfits for the rest of the Vocaloid to wear the phantom thieves outfits

Currently most likely have to make a mod that lowers the games resolution to look like a ps2 game which its currently running on heck I nearly got it working but mcaffee deleted all my progress on it so I’m going with other methods till I fell like starting back on the 100 hours of animation work
Big reason why I’m able to run it currently it’s an earlier version of the mod and citron has a resolution experimental function
So I didn’t have to make a mod for it outright
Going to have to for it to run on switch though
So it’s still in the works I’m going to clip keyframes from animation data to make it to where I can run it at a higher resolution but this is going to take way longer then I initially thought

I don't remember what it was but it was probably the bfxx files
it wasn't ever really a question of whether or not the game loads without those gaps - it does

Certain larger mods (or merged loadouts of many smaller mods) may not work with atmosphere 1.9.0/HorizonOS 20.0.0, as the memory allocation has been decreased due to changes made by Nintendo in firmware 20.0.0. If you wish to continue using larger mods on Switch, we recommend that you do not update to firm ware 20.0.0, even once it is supported by atmosphere

they changed the memory allocation
and atmosphere had to decrease theirs
it mainly just means sys modules are affected
the only game romfs that was ever really affected by mem constraints was totk due to its gigantic list of files

@kindred comet got a earlier version of the mod working on citron going to further optimize it to work on switch is the main objective im going to go back into the animation files and do what i previously did before my projects folders got deleted by mcafee

if you mean the gamepass/microsoft store version yes reloaded works perfectly fine on gamepass/microsoft store games. Reloaded will kick back a warning that it may cause issues. but ignore it reloaded will work just fine
i ran P3R with the femc mod on gamepass when P3R was available on it. Its since been removed but i had no trouble modding it with reloaded
