If it's the phone call, it's possible it's E700_300.BMD. All the post-confidant dialogues are in here, so there's probably a script somewhere that handles which lines are played. There's possibly a library issue here too
The file would be similar to another BMD I've had compilation issues with. It has all the dialogues that play when you're walking to school and listening on other students. The game would crash instantly though

you need to find a save that was on the day before
usually things like this are stored in the COUNT values
so if you saved past the script already setting it, no amount of disabling mods would get rid of it

mod menu is not intended to be used during gameplay, it's a tool for mod developers
and you can cause numerous issues with your save if you mess around with it

@zealous fjord not sure if here is the right place to ask but there’s no separate thread and yours and Wisteria’s mods are very tightly linked so I was wondering, when your story overhaul mod is released could you provide a version where Kasumi’s last name is hardcoded in so you can have her full name? It’d drive me crazy seeing it be one letter short
i'm still not sure i really know what i'm doing in terms of editing the p3r textures for p5 - but i did at least fix them looking very flat 
gonna tweak them a bit more until i'm happy - then i figured they could go into the main mod as a config for a bit more weapon variety, if you're interested @kindred comet?

i thought about replacing the more lance looking weapons with a few of makoto's swords but i think i actually like how they look on kasumi idk
i could always port the swords and then there could be two optionals, one with the lances and one without i suppose

understand why people don't like spears on Kasumi, but swords are so much different, don't fit her at all
Finally got some footage of that alt loading screen and yep, it works.
Those weapon models look good! Using Mitsuru's P3R models fits since the equipment patch already borrows her weapon names from several games.
Unfortunately, not for the first release for the mod. I think it's possible to add the missing letter with Cheat Engine, but I'm not familiar with it at all.
Making the name hardcoded requires me re-editing a lot of files. I'll think about it after the mod first release, since it's also helpful to know when they're talking about Sumire
You could find and replace the name with "Yoshizawa" in the text files with Notepad++ if you wanted to. It would be consistent with the voice lines, which already refer to Sumire as "Yoshizawa" at some points.
I always name her Rae Taylor
imagining her sister's name being Sumire Taylor also makes me laugh, gives me old Sailor Moon dub vibes where next to names like Molly and Melvin you had "Rini" and "Darien"
I'd say Count Joelcula's suggestion makes sense rather than trying to fiddle with weird Atlus coding
That's what I consider doing. It's just that there's hundreds of occurences that I have to manually edit, so I keep it for later (maybe for the cleanup part)
I should probably make a separate thread for my mod now. It doesn't have anything to do with Wisteria's mod
Notepad++ does have a handy "Find and Replace" feature that could help speed up the process.

i dont think its something that needs to be hardcoded or "fixed"
it would just add a lot onto the workload and make the player giving her a last name pointless
the character limit is just something ppl will have to live with imo, hardcoding it takes options away and might not even be necessary if someone finds a way to add the extra character
also it wouldnt be feasible to make a separate version that has it hardcoded, maintaining two versions of a mod that overhauls that much dialogue would be a nightmare

I mean it then makes it even more hilarious because her wild card ability becomes blood related. XD.

the recolor is just me hand painting the texture, i don't think it can cause problems like this

i can explain you how to do, is not that hard
Texture editing is pretty easy. You can use GFD Studio to open a model and extract the textures with a few clicks, and paint.net to edit the textures.
Did a bit more editing on DeathChaos' Yunaka model. I just changed the colour of Sumi's arms to be consistent with her other models. (interestingly, the fleshy base model has slightly different coloured arms. A bit more yellowish.)

@ionic fulcrum here is wisteria posting the latest test build. Make sure you just drag the zip folder onto Reloaded-II where it says launch application. You can’t drag it into the main mod menu it has to be on the part with the launch application button.
And if you want the Kasumi battle portrait over joker’s. You’ll have to set joker’s slot to slot 1 in I think it’s either Persona Essentials or custom bonus tweaks.

I changed her name to yoshizawa with the CE method and the persona stat screen is the only place it doesn’t say yoshizawa
Everything else from mod menu to what the characters call her all are Yoshizawa
The name shown on persona stat screen is the name I used before I edited it
So if I had her named as yoshzawa then I edited it to yoshizawa, the persona stat screen still shows it as “kasumi yoshzawa” for some reason

Just realized I neglected to edit the hands to match the arms. Now Sumi's arms and hands should be consistent with the rest of her models.
I pretty much just edited the base skin model to be a bit more detailed and consistent with her other models. (Since interestingly, the arms and hands seem to be a slightly more yellowish colour. Plus, the solid colour in some spots kinda stood out to me.)

No public beta yet. I'm still adjusting stuff here and there as I'm testing the 3rd semester, so it's not exactly linear work. I don't expect things to be perfect, but I don't want crashes or horribly bugged dialogues to occur. I haven't decided yet when/how I will a release a beta of the mod, but given my current progress, it shouldn't take me months to reach an releasable state.

Less than a month is probably going to be short. That'll depend on how much free time I have and how much I still have to edit/polish. I don't want to give a date just yet because I don't to compromise on quality in order to release the mod at the scheduled date. It'd be nice if I can have it done by late April or early May, but no promises!

@lean bough here, just slap that in the Wisteria mod directory, This zip contains the colourfull pack for the team and the equipment icons working with the Wisteria mod (loading icon and 3D colored party still works in the original mod)

okay i just finished AA3, time to lock back in 
the plan for next test build:
- bake physics for 3rd semester cutscenes as well as correct them to fit sumi (the checkmate one is going to make me want to eat rocks im dreading it)
- smoother rain animations (similar to the smoother walking/running field anims last update)
- more one-off anims particularly for madarame arc
- anims for crafting tools and big bang burger anims
wouldnt mind adding toggles for mods like no aoa portraits, colorful party panel, epic party panel, etc to the addon mod but i would need to get in contact with the respective mod developers and get permission

why when i try to texture paint a a.dds on the 3d model is all broken?
you have to export the dds as png and reimport it into blender
i sorta find blender's dds support to be... underwhelming

Funnily enough, number 4 fits perfectly well with the weapon I have equipped atm, which the equipment patch renames to "Night Falcon".

If you're editing the dds texture directly, you'd be better off using an image editing program like paint.net. I don't even know how blender works for the most part.

Blender has so many tools and things that I don't even know how the vast majority of it works tbh.
Makes sense. Plus, Sumire uses rapiers, which are a particularly light type of sword. I imagine Makoto's swords would be a bit thicker and heavier, which I imagine would feel very different to wield.
Would it not help to edit the texture as a PNG and then import into like GFD studio? (Just curious. Idk much about texture editing XD)
From my experience, GFD studio is a good way to preview what an edited texture will look like when applied to the model.
If you're just editing textures, I'd recommend using GFD studio to extract + replace them.
Honestly, I need to figure out how the hell I can edit a texture without botching things and then having to reset all my editing etc.
I figured out exporting with the help of Ultimo. But the actual editing part is what I’m struggling with, since I don’t want to botch it….
My advice is to add a new layer to do your editing on, so you're not directly changing the texture itself.

You can use the magic wand tool to select areas of similar colours. I'd just use that to select what you want, then copy and paste it onto a new layer.

All the P5X files are sorted randomly in unlabeled package files. This must be what a mother tidying her teenage son's room feels like.
Even the heads are stored in completely separate packages from the bodies and hair.
Edit: Ack. Uninstalled P5X to save storage space and I accidentally deleted all the dumped files. Well at least I got what I came for.

Only reason I'm doing it is cause the op is simple enough to recreate due to it being limited in shading and color
Also, the extra ammo version is redundant if you're already using the gun overhaul.
what the gun overhaul does?
It bumps the number of gun rounds up from 8 to 10 and nerfs the stats to compensate.
Around 4 hours of work just for 3 seconds of rough animation

The dreaded coffee cup strikes back in Sumire showtime unlock. I've swapped the animation in the GAP with the one you've used for the Haru event and I've edited the event to change the coffee cup item number to the one you've edited (IT0133_030). There were a few Joker phone anim in the GAP so I've fixed them too. It's... adequate.

Funnily enough, her Phantom Thief model actually has a different hair colour from the rest of her models. Its a noticeably deeper shade of red.
I edited the hair on that Yunaka model to use that more vibrant hair colour once I noticed. (The way the hair texture on the Yunaka model is formatted makes changing the hair colour very easy.)

i noticed some details on pre-rendered cutscenes every time (protagonist) sumi confronts maruki; she looks utterly pissed with him without a mask

I'm doing a 0-100% playthrough (without skipping cutscenes or dialogue) with your test version and I was wondering if this could be useful in any way. If not then sorry for the ping and can't wait for the final version, so far everything feels smooth except some very specific situations (like saving animation or crafting tools) but nothing really breaking

I find it interesting that arbiter is using the P5 opening rather than the Royal opening as a base. But it does fit, considering we technically no longer need the extra opening part to introduce sumi/a new royal character. Because, well Sumi is Protag now.

Dunno if this is known, but when Kasumi and Ryuji first use the navigation app on the 12th to turn the school into the castle, when it changes and we see the two of them from behind, the model there for that brief moment is Joker's not Kasumi's.
The moment when the view is zoomed in on them, when it changes to a zoomed out view it's Kasumi.

custom bonus tweaks gets rid of the pre-rendered cutscenes but a few (ryuji and protag going into metaverse and shido cutscene) are either pre-rendered or use pre-render snippets
Do you know if their realtime variants exist or not,
if cbt doesn't unpre-render them then they probably don't have any I fear
or they do but don't look the same

Found a model problem. In the scene where Ryuji and Kasumi are eating after Ryuji first unlocks his persona, a short bit into the scene, Kasumi's model all of a sudden goes kinda stock still and stretches a bit taller and just nods every so often. But like robot nodding.

So I decided to compile screenshots of the game by month, so I can put together screenshots for all of April that I find to be weird
Well, all I can say is this mod is fun
I’m gonna do a whole run through when rose and violet releases too
For me April went smoothly excluding generic skirt clips in animations, nothing really breaking. If I had to name the weird l ones I'd say during choosing my name in the prologue she literally had no face and the pen was floating, and when she craft tools she uses joker animation and the skirt is all over the place. (This one is funny because she looks like a gremlin). I have been writing down the ones from other months but nothing has broken the game 
congrats, you've run into an exceedingly rare edge case bug/scenario from bonus tweaks that happens if you skip the event at a specific point (this is due to atlus hiding the building for some Adam camera shots, and because the event takes place in the same field as the battle it can carry over if you skip while its hidden)


that said you can actually restore the building visibility if this happens
some skills like Megidolaon completely hide the Battlefield when used
if you use one such skill, the building comes back when the entire area is restored after the skill use
Oh yeah deathchaos, nuggethead wanted to know if atlus left in files for that one ryuji and protag entering kamoshidas castle cutscenes and those parts of the shido cutscene that use pre renders
I assume not but couldn't hurt to ask anyway I suppose

I first purchased P5 when it originally came out for the first time, and I played like 5 minutes of it, and that's it. lol. Then I didn't play Persona 5 again till a first played Persona 5 Royal about a year or so ago. lol. Playing it made me wish I'd done so from the beginning.
