persona 3 crashing

my persona 3 will crash if it has mods enabled and the elf sits at a black screen infinitely

the elf sitting at black screen is normal

right click on the elf, go into properties, set a disc path to the iso

then launching the elf will load the ISO with mods

as for the game crashing, that means you have a 1.6 hostFS cheat when you need a 1.7 version

i downloaded the pnach at the bottom of the resources page, but as for the first thing as setting a disc path what do you mean

you need the other hostFS cheat

you don't launch from aemulus ever on 1.7

once you have the disc path in the ELF, you can just open the ELF and it will load the game with mods

I'm not familiar with FES modding. Why does this same question come up again and again? Is the guide just shit and not include this information?

on the version of pcsx2 that CEP is designed for, you do launch P3 from aemulus

the thing is, CEP and P3HD need completely incompatible versions of pcsx2 that work very differently

so all of the guides are technically correct, but only when using 1.6 PCSX2

there's a lot of old guides people follow for 1.6 still though sadly

I prefer to install the mods I actually want manually, so I don't have cep in aemulus

also worth pointing out, the hostFS cheat that shrinefox ships is for 1.6

so there's a lot of crashes people cause by using the 1.6 hostFS with 1.7

that's still pretty outdated hoenstly

there's a 90% up-to-date mod that P3HD has

only things out-of-date are that it doesn't tell you to set a cheat path in aemulus, and that it uses an older way of launching the game (which still works on the newest pcsx2, so technically not an issue, but there are better ways of doing it)

I'd be willing to write a fairly in-depth text guide for modding FES, but I don't have a mic, so I wouldn't be able to make a video version
