Hello everyone, does anyone know where the following data is, and how to edit PAK files?

  1. Editing a skill name.
  2. Editing a skill description.

Any pointers are much appreciated.

So update, I know how to unpack and repack PAK files, I can edit a skill description. But any attempt to edit a skill name results in a crash. No exceptions.

How did you solve it?

As for skill names, you need the P5R table editor to edit NAME.TBL.

I tried editing skill names

#

But ended up screwing over Phys/cure/passive names somehow

#

Did you do anything outside of inserting/overwriting the bits for the name?

Difficult to find out exactly why without looking at your entire project.

Alright, I think I get it, tyvm

Yeah, I used 010, that editor must adjust the other stuff I'm not seeing, Ty again

Just drag the TBL onto the .exe file directly, and you'll get 10 text files, the first one named skills is the one you want.

#

Then obviously find the ID of the skill. Add 1 to to that and that'll be the skill you want to replace. Because Attacks ID is 0 but its Line 1 on the text file.

#

Once you're done, save that, drag the whole name folder back onto the .exe and it'll build an updated NAME.TBL

Let me know how that goes for you.

It's all good!

There was a small issue of Ars??ne, but that's easily fixed.

So I looked up the original bits of Arsene in the unedited NAME.TBL and just replaced the ?? with those in the 010 editor
