#So, we can't mod the PC port of P4G anymore, huh?

huh?
mods breaking is because of the change to 64-bit, not DRM. it always had DRM
^
it can be modded
just almost everything needs to be refactored
the reason isnt because of drm, and its not because atlus wants us to stop modding or smth
they updated the steam port to be on par with the rest of the p4g ports, it runs better, has better ui, loads faster, they even added a quick save function
its just that because they basically remade the port, stuff will need to be redone
but besides, this unmoddable build is not public
some atlus employee leaked it
accidentally
and we managed to catch it
you can still mod your copy of p4g as the update hasnt even gotten here yet
and even if it did, you can turn auto updates off
just wondering how do you know if steam auto updated to the latest version without launching it
launch it with aemulus
or reloaded
it says the version at the top of the screen
itll say REV XXXX
Also, you'd know because there's a load quick save option on the main menu (and your game wouldn't even load with current mods)
The update almost certainly won't be until 2023 (maybe 19 January) when the ports get released so you don't need to worry about it for now.
Also, the only people who will be really affected are those that have made reloaded mods (me
) because code mods will almost certainly have to be completely rewritten because it's 64 bit now.
Normal Aemulus mods should be able to be ported relatively easy (in theory)
you'd think
Denuvo be taking advantage of the fact that 64-bit debuggers aren't fully developed yet to sell their shitty reskin of VMProtect they stole from another company to unsuspecting developers.
Denuvo has absolutely nothing to do with why mods are going to break, and if anything the fact that this update leaked early should give the community time to have updated tools ready for when it's actually out.
denuvo does have to do stuff when the modloader is code based
Yeah, it's because it's now 64 bit so the entire exe is different and it's using a completely different filesystem that mods will break
That being said not having a denuvoless version will make developing code mods much more annoying
Yeah, I mean ultimately the community just got lucky that a Denuvo-less build of the current version of P4G PC leaked lol. But the changes in the update that are going to break mods aren't changes to Denuvo/DRM specifically
Wait when???
which build?
the beta one or?
Yoooo i hope they drop Denuvo in P4G 64 bit but iirc the beta had it or something 😠?
it does
I don't recall if Sega has ever intentionally dropped Denuvo from any of its PC ports
common sega l
