#'Not all cpks needed' - Aemulus - Unpack base files

Hi I'm trying to use Aemulus Mod Manager to install the cheat sheet mods and the dart correction mod for Persona 5 Royal on Switch but I'm having issues.

When reading a tutorial for Aemulus I saw I should unpack the original game files. So I've tried doing that and I click the gear icon and select the output folder with the title id folder that I plan to copy over to my switch, and select the rom path of the xci rom on my desktop. Then I leave emulators path blank because I'm not using an emulator and click unpack base files but when I do there's always an error message in the log that says "not all cpks needed (all_useu.cpk and patch1.cpk) are found in top directory."

Thanks for any assistance.

unpack base files should open a window where you select these files

#

the way to get them is dumping romfs with nxdumptopls

#

Is that the only way?

'Not all cpks needed' - Aemulus - Unpack base files

You can use a third-party program to unpack the CPK files. I use CriPakTools.

weary axle

Does nxdumptools work with games already installed or will I need to put the xci on my switch again?

weary lion
#

It sounds like they're trying to setup Aemulus to use mods on Switch, not unpack for creating mods

weary axle
#

Yeah, correct.

I figured it would work with cartridges I just didn't know if it work with digital games or not.

undone pendant
#

It works with digital games.

weary axle
#

I'm surprised I need something besides the xci I have already though.

#

I thought the xci was what was being unpacked

undone pendant
#

No, you dump the game's ROMFS section which contains CPK archives.

weary axle
#

Does nxdumptools only dump that needed part or will it be the full game? Just making sure I have the space.

undone pendant
#

All of the game is stored in a single archive called ALL_USEU.cpk (except for the EXEFS section) which is about 14 GB in size.

Yyyeeeeeppp.

leaden oxide
#

the files are in the xci, but the xci can only be used to install on a switch or emu

small rapids
#

Ok

leaden oxide
#

dude is wrong

small rapids
#

Oh?

undone pendant
leaden oxide
#

just select your USEU.cpk with aem

#

when you unpack and it prompts you to

small rapids
#

Ok

#

I didn't even know aem had p5r switch support

#

Will try it out 👍

Just ran lockpick.rcm and I'm getting ready to run the nxdumptool, I'll let you guys know if I have any other issues but thanks for the help. This will be my 3rd time playing persona 5 and I'm determined to beat it this time.

#

Ok question about nxdumptool, so I select romFS options should I split files bigger than 4gb? I am on fat32. Also should I save data to cfw directory?

leaden oxide
#

you should split files

#

and the other doesn't matter, it just changes the path your files are dumped in

small rapids
#

kris quick question

#

should the alluseu cpk have 4 files in it

leaden oxide
#

yes

small rapids
#

ok good

leaden oxide
#

yo need to merge them tho

#

i posted how to in this forum

small rapids
#

oh

small rapids
#

alright

leaden oxide
#

but replace .nsp with .cpk

small rapids
#

you are a godsend

#

thanks

weary axle
#

So in addition to this all_useu.cpk file which is dumping from my switch I also need a patch1.cpk file for Aemulus?

leaden oxide
#

you shouldn't

#

probably not

#

but if you do, it's in the same directory as your useu.cpk file

undone pendant
#

patch1.cpk is used to just fix 1 FMV cutscene.

leaden oxide
#

yeah

#

no need to unpack it, but ig tekka thought it was important

weary axle
#

But I'll need to combine the all_useu.cpk files ?

leaden oxide
#

yes

undone pendant
#

Someone already ran into an issue with split files.

weary axle
#

It builds the xci file?

leaden oxide
#

no

leaden oxide
weary axle
#

Oh ok

weary axle
#

Ok so I clicked unpack base files in Aemulus and select the folder with my ALL_USEU.cpk and it's still giving me the error about not having all cpks needed.

leaden oxide
#

maybe select the folder that folder is in?

weary axle
#

I went down the whole folder tree

leaden oxide
#

hm

#

try moving your cpk into the folder before the one it's in

#

and retry

#

make sure it's besides the patch1.cpk

weary axle
#

Tried that

#

Cpk on the merged file has to be all caps. It was case sensitive. Making it ALL_USEU.CPK worked.

leaden oxide
#

ah

#

makes sense

weary axle
#

Now it says unpacking will take a while. I wish there was a percentage bar.
