someone doesn't like having fun
What fun is it when people already have several hundred thousand gold in their inventory, even though the game isn't even two weeks old? And you want to double the gold gain? Yes, you'll have a random map with a gold boost, but it won't change anything. Instead of running the map they're currently running, people will use a modifier. Currently, getting a legendary key takes at least 3/4 hours, and you want to reduce that to 1.5/2 hours. I don't see the fun here.
Some people are employed.
Wow, good job explaining why you're against this idea instead of just saying it's bad and putting a laughing face emoji
Currently, late game content is grinding gold to buy legendary weapons in shop and to buy rare chest keys. All this equipment will be powercrept when we get access to unlimited legendary chests with Ultimate Rampage, so it doesn't matter if we get more access to it now. Furthermore, I have sunk around 60 hours in this game since launch and I don't have huge stores of gold. The people who have hundreds of thousands of gold are not representative of the overall community, just the people who invest way too much time in the game. For the casual playerbase, there isn't enough gold, and if we want to grow the game we need to make it more fun for the casual player.
Personally, I have slightly more hours in the game than you, 74, with a few hours spent in the lobby. Unfortunately, my supply of legendary chests has run out. I still have a legendary key and 2 gold coins, and I've already accumulated over 100,000 gold. Sometimes I'll just grind, sometimes I'll just beat bosses while helping weaker players I'm not friends with, sometimes I'll just randomize maps. Yes, this game is all about grinding, and you're right, because every map has the same mechanics. I also disagree with you about the unlimited number of legendary chests. If I remember correctly, back in the old days, getting a legendary chest in Ultimate Rampage wasn't easy. You had to build several floors, each floor being more difficult. You have to work well with your team, and getting one weaker player in such a challenge who didn't fully understand the mechanics of different maps won't help you achieve the goal of getting a legendary chest. From what I remember, these chests were often obtained with relative ease when you caught someone who cheated while playing by running off the map. Here, we have a ban system and the game is paid, which drastically eliminates this method of obtaining chests. If Ultimate Rampage remains at the same difficulty level as before, I can confidently say that gold won't be the problem, but chests will be. And I hope that happens, and that the developers won't make Ultimate Rampage so easy that anyone can just jump in and get a legendary chest, because this game would lose its purpose.
Personally, I wouldn't have a problem with somehow helping people who have less time to play or who think earning 100,000 gold is difficult to earn. However, the only ideas I see are selling chests for gold, increasing gold drops, and so on. This is a change that is a pointless substitution of a pre-made game for people who don't want to do anything but just want to get as much as possible.
I get not changing the game, and I like that. I agree that when Ultimate Rampage comes along we won't have gold problems anymore, but that won't come for a while. I think that increasing gold gain from the campaign is a reasonable method to balance things until UR comes out, as long as any increase to campaign gold doesn't make it better to grind than UR. I think selling chests is a reasonable way to get gold because you get a lot from the campaign but relatively few from UR.
