#Prestidigitation: Patterns

So, prestidigitation is here in 1.21.1 and I find it really cool to use for different decorations and stuff.

However, using it on armor or casting on self for effects really turns out to be somewhat dissapointing, only being able to make a trail behind you, a sort of... brazier aura I guess? Around your upper body, and lastly an effect on the floor around you following you. I feel like I am either missing something or there is something missing.

So I believe a way to make prestidigitation more interesting on the user is through: Patterns!

The same way a banner pattern works, if you craft on a scribe's table certain patterns, when casted on self or other creatures, prestidigitation will display the selected form/pattern on the mob. These have a more limited particle spawn rate and radius, but still can vary in speed for certain patterns. Some of my ideas are:

· Auric Effect: Similar to how potions display particles of their effects around you, this pattern displays the selected particles around you gently (Not enough to cover your vision, displays the particles around your entire body). Requires 1 blaze rod and 1 blaze powder. Can change radius and speed

· Draconic Wings: Use your particles to display a pair of big, open wings behind your back. Pretty simple, but pretty cool. Requires 1 elytra and 1 dragon breath. Can change radius

· Draconic Tail: With your magic, create the illusion of a long tail behind you with your particles. Requires 1 dragon head. Can change radius

· Skeletal Suit: Create a skeletal armor around you, making the visuals of ribs and bones over your body except for your head. Requires 184 bones (Reference to how many bones the human body has not counting the head part). This pattern would only use smaller particles (glow, fire, soulfire...) and can't increase in radius

I think it would be cool to have these just for the sake of style and aura farming on your other friends.

Just saying that neither “prestidigitation” nor “rural” has a silent letter unless the word is being mispronounced

Prestidigitation is easy when you break it into its parts. "Presti" (magic), "digit" (fingers), "ation" (the action of). Just put the parts together and you end up with the correct pronunciation by default. Signed, a DM that has had to explain to countless new D&D players how to say the name of their cantrips.

And rural absolutely has a silent letter, but that's probably just because I'm Australian. We drop the a.

Sort of. The r and l are distinct, but it's not an "al" sound. It's not pronounced like "curl".
