This would be neat but uuuuh
Infinite blocks at an incredible speed
or maybe conway's game of life as a way of generating source, similar to dandelifeon in botania?
DAMN IT DOES HAVE A GOL RELATED BLOCK???
THIS IS AMAZONG
it's a bit hard to setup but it's a pretty amazing idea yeah
A more efficient and better version.
Version 2.0 - https://youtu.be/6-beEDNEI48
New tutorial! The game of life is used in Botania to make mana and is amazing when it comes to pattern and mana production. Here is a tutorial on how to automate the Dandelifeon
Item needed
4x F...
No idea why nor what a weave should do related to GOL
Having a source version of the dandelifeon seems lame
even if since i'm currently studying for an exam on complex systems it wouldn't be too bad to try implementing a CA
the point is, what's the point in-game for the player?
Funny GoL
not much of a "point" to most features if that's your way of thinking
everything is eventually tied to either building/cosmetic, ambience or resource generation
a GoL plays itself, so there's only the challenge to build its setup (which is either guided or totally not easy for the avg user)
but if it doesn't award anything, it's pretty meh
I'd argue it adds happiness just like building and cosmetic things
it's more of what do we want to invest resources into doing
Unless I can vibe code it, it would be kinda delusional to code and debug it only for 5 users to actually use it
I already find few people using the adv spell prisms + lens when they have cool potential and automation potential
(usually those resources are time and sanity both of which we are limited on)
Oh right. I saw some advanced spell prism whilst building my railgun.
What exactly do those do?
they are aimable, plus you can slot a lens on it
Lens?
Now that sounds worth investigating
Though it may be different in 3d, the 2d version is apparently achievable in 10 steps or less
As for the purpose
It’s both decoration and simple fun
Also botania has that???
Damn
?
Do you mean:
- counting the amount of living cells in the 8 surrounding blocks
- if (n < count < m) then set cell to Alive
- else set cell to Dead
I kept thinking about giving this stuff to the anima familiar that will be tied to the pale woods in aspect, and it could be a way to farm resin at the very least
There's apparently a tie between the resin and the totems
Does it delay everything to 1.22? Yep, but I feel like I can't manage to make anything significant before that timeframe anyway
