The spell I'm using is projectile sensitive interact pickup, and while it does hit the berries it does nothing when it disperses.

I've put it into a timed spell turret

and it just touches the first sourceberry, doesn't harvest, then disperses

#

what bothers me is that it works perfectly fine when I use it

#

forgive the jank, it's sending the berries across to a mycelial generator

My personal solution is always to make it chain, grow, grow, interact, pickup.

As for free source, have you considered a chicken generator couple to a vitalic sourcelink?

100k/hour is very easy and it requires no magical resources to get working.

Yeah, except here you have two banks of chickens.

One with 22+ (100k/hour) that feeds into an autokiller using lava, where they're fine while young and die when they grow up.

Mind you, a crammer would still work, it would just get you more reasonable source-levels which... we don't want to be reasonable do we?

this also generates cooked chicken which can be thrown into a mycelial sourcelink for more source per chicken

My maths for 100k/hour from 22 spawner-chickens presumes you feed them to the mycelial.

Very true, and a fantastically easy way to do early source-berry farming. That said, the intent here was to do it with a turret, I think, so there's where I'm putting the effort until told otherwise 🙂

"better" is subjective

While the spell you posted will pick individual berries (interact is the correct one) it doesn't make it faster

#

For that you need grow. And you definitely want more than one grow for each interact

#

Next up. Think a bit bigger. Not one at a time as fast as you can spam a spell turret. In fact I don't think that'll be source positive

Linger is a fun thing. Linger sensitive will make it hit blocks instead of entities

#

For working on crops or berries though, fire it into the side of a fence to catch the linger entity in the middle of your field

I should've clarified that there are a couple ars nouveau addon mods in there

but it's the blood magic one, which doesn't really effect this situation
