#Shadowweaver's Pride: A spell which rains clones!

This is a spell i made while messing around, which uses a mechanic in a mod named Solid Mobs. In Solid Mobs, entities that are landed on will take a portion of the fall damage. So, logically, I made spells that rain down decoys on an area! There are two, Phantom Barrage, and Shadowweaver's Pride. The latter, as the name implies, is the one I am more proud of, and although Phantom Barrage probably has less practical usage, I still really like it.

Here are the glyph patterns if you want to try these out yourself!

Phantom Barrage (contained in a mirror for that extra spell slot):
self summon_decoy linger (Dilate Time)⛓️ knockback (Amp 2)launch (Amp 3)(Propagate Homing)summon_decoy
Shadowweaver's Pride (contained in a wand for that extra slot):
projectile accelerate linger sensitive (Propagate Overhead)(Amp 3)(Amp 3)⛓️(Conjure Terrain)(Propagate Homing)summon_decoy explosion

Phantom Barrage will periodically summon waves of decoys, and hurl them away from you, bombarding an area.

Shadowweaver's Pride will create a ton of decoys, and rain them down below where it was created, dealing massive damage to whoever is unlucky enough to be hit by a falling simulacrum.

BONUS SPELL: Shadowweaver's Stepstool: It boosts you up and spawns a decoy below. Funny, and useful if you need some extra height, or feel like dropping a fake upon your foe below you. Works best if not moving. (NOTE: do NOT stack more than 5, or the devil will claim your soul. AKA you get sent to the void)

Glypths (i personally use mirror, but just casting from a spellbook works too.):
self launch (Propegate Underfoot)summon_decoy

Enjoy!

Needed question due #1258240326032818207 most common misunderstanding

#

Does it work in survival?

#

Summoning in Creative is basically unlimited, while in Survival decoys have summoning sickness too

vestal sleet
#

it summons less of them, but it still works

#

just be aware that there wont be any big fountains in survival (turns out making a large amount of clones AND having them be controlled in survival is really difficult)

#

thats what the random prop homings are for, they will often land at different times, bypassing the 1 tick of summon sickness

#

what are the two amp 3s for?

vestal sleet
#

to make the spawns happen in the air, to avoid terrain damage, and to maximise decoys in the air

#

after all, decoys that end up underground dont contribute to the spell in any way

#

making craters is fun, but only when i want to

#

i have explosive fountains for that

obtuse nebula
#

I don't understand how amp 3s after a propagation glyph achieves this though

#

some jank with omega?

#

oh, probably propagates it further overhead

#

and you fire the projectile at the ground

#

and is that conjure terrain propagate homing setup meant to spawn the decoys by propagating homing projectiles which spawn decoys and then explode to spread them out inside the spawned terrain?

#

that's a creative method of dispersing them

delayrandomize could improve survival effectiveness

also, in case you are wondering about damage potential... its not good, but turns out zombies and stuff often try to attack clones that land on top of them, even if the clone dies, the enemies are still distracted for a moment. also, nothing is stopping you from combining this with focus of summoning, then casting a dangerous self spell to turn this into a rain of bombs

obtuse nebula
#

i still think its a fun effect

#

even if it's not functionally super useful

#

those amp 3s gotta make the spell pricy though

#

consider a touch sensitive linger dampen sensitive aoe [conjure_terrain] [prop_arc] summon_decoy explosion ?

#

i'd also be interested to see a variant of the spell that uses an earth focus to group up a bunch of decoys with gravity and drop them on a target

This + summon_focus + All is Dust

Kablooey.

wary bear
#

This just in: All is Dust but Amp 3 is better than All is Dust

#

The damage of harm gets reset by amp 3 because the limit of amplify on harm is 2

#

So harmamp 3 does the same damage as just harm
