I used to use annihilate delay spell without six thread and it was using almost the half of my max mana, expensive spells such annihilate or domain were using a lot of mana, now it just uses like 1/5 of my max mana

I mean you can't but also spell power just adds a flat bonus to the stat on the armor itself, and from my testing it seemed to work
Although there is a weird randomness in damage so maybe its confirmation bias, but again seemed like I had higher average results with stacked spell power

I was thinking of taking inspiration from terraria and having two different helmets (one a hood and one more like the prismatic armor) and having a different setbonus for each
Does this mean you are getting rid of the awakening tier of gears? (it appears at least Ars Elemental has implemented set bonus)
Cade armor could be tier shifted down or repurposed(adding a new air attuned armor set and Cade stays on the same as ancient hero) so the four elements(used in base Ars Nouveau) are on equal footing. They would also need to be superior to those in Ars Elemental to give player incentive to use them at all.
Hello, I've been toying with this mod in creative and I am confused by some things.
Domain with Open Domain targets every single block in range, is there anyway to stop it and have it just target creatures instead ?
Also, how exactly does the Limitless glyph work ? It sets things velocity to 0 in an AoE for a duration, but neither of these seem to be visible. And even with many constant applications via Lingering or a Domain, it doesn't seem to do anything. How is Limitless supposed to be used ?
Limitless has like no duration it's just 1 and done

I've tested it more and I see how it works. Its infact instant, yeah. Thing I was confused about was it saying "Entity", figured it included mobs as well but I believe its only projectiles.
Domain with a long duration and at least 1 Accelerate III is able to mostly deflect arrows.

I dont rememver the name, but there is a table in base ars where u put your armor on and u just rclick the threads onto the table with the armor already in it. The tier is for the power that thread has, but some threads need a certain tier. Like the glide thread, it needs to be in the tier 3 slot

Tier 5 might be exclusive to an addon. But im pretty sure the thread system works the same
Tier 5 might be refering to the tier of the armor. Ik some addons like to expand on the armor. Like ars elemental armor sets are tier 4

The mysterious mage just spawn at night, but if yiu have 2 mage cloth you can just make a summoning loop of them (or just trap one in a drygmy farm)

What are you trying to do?
bc all it does is control the velocity of entities within an area
lowkey im just trying to activate it and get it to stop attacks/projectiles
If we're gonna be honest all people want Limitless for is:
- stop projectiles
- blue
- red
- purple
There will be a better version for that in the next update. But rn you basically need to time it before the attack hits.
Example spell would be smth like: Self -> Limitless -> AoEx
- The base use of limitless will stop projectiles in an area. Use aoe augments to increase that aoe.
- Amplify will invert the motion of entities within an area instead of stopping. If combined with Pierce which adds a base amount of motion this will draw every entity within an area to a center point.
- Dampen will reverse the direction of amplify, so it will propel entities in the same direction of motion. Combining Dampen Amplify and Pierce will launch entities in an area away from a point.
- "Annihilate" takes the role of purple since purple has a very different function.
Using Pierce will also make the spell deal damage.

so a break down on augments:
AoE, increases the range of targeted entities
Amplify, changes the glyph to reverse the direction of movement instead of stopping. Additional amplifies increases the potency
Dampen, inverts the effects of amplify
Pierce, makes the spell do damage and doesnt need the entities to be in motion already
(Coming soon) Extend time, causes the effects to continuously apply over a duration
Barrier:
Self -> Limitless -> AoE...
Blue:
Projectile -> Limitless -> Amplify -> Pierce -> AoE...
Red:
Projectile -> Limitless -> Amplify -> Dampen -> Pierce -> AoE...
Purple:
Projectile -> Burst -> Sensitive -> Annihilate

Did the ritual work and then he didn't spawn or did it just say waiting to be activated?
It started like it was going to summon, then it just turned off
It could be that it needs source to work and that's why it worked in creative and not survival

in terms of progression speed?
to affect progression speed you'd have to tweak the recipes or have something like old Ars Mage Fight where the glyphs had to be unlocked twice or something idr
something you'd see more in a pack than in addon for the first thing, the second thing is pretty much a 1.16 relic
for example the modpack All the catastrophe tweaks a lot of recipes everywhere. ars spellbooks are now way harder and also use iron's materials. conversly Irons materials also use ars crafting systems as well
I've just discovered that iceburst is the most overpowered ars nouveau spell to ever exist

Okay, does anyone have some recommendations for "adaptations" to create for Mahoraga?
Basic idea right now is that they'll accumulate an "adaptation point" over a period of time which can be reduced by taking damage. Then after certain triggers Mahoraga will spend the point to gain an adaptation which can include:
- Reduced damage from a damage type, can progress to immunity.
- Gain a ranged sonic boom similar to a warden.
- Gain the "Disruption" effect on all attacks which immediately dispels positive effects for the duration.
- Gain regeneration, speed of regen can progress with subsequent adaptations.
- Gain some sort of block destroying ability when visibility is obstructed

raising the drop chance for the cloths would also be kinda nice.. a 50/50 chance for 1 that can only be raised to 2 from looting 13/scav7 is a little rough
oh right - any tips on utilizing limitless properly? one of my friends is building into bows and i wanna be able to use it against him; he just got the celestial bow rainfall serenity and its got a laser type shot, i wasnt sure if there was any way i could stop that with limitless or not

Otherwise you’ll need to just increase how much AoE on it to make timing easier. I’d suggest using underfoot for the form so there isn’t any delay before it activates
I like to go to ancient cities and mushroom islands if you want to find many of them (because Mages can spawn there). However, as SENATE mentioned, Drygmy farms are probably best, you could also farm the bosses

I’m ngl, very happy with how the Mahoraga fight turned out. He kinda forces you to approach him which removes a lot of the ways people normally invalidate bosses. Gonna take this knowledge with me for the boss redesigns
(I also find it funny that he can even become immune to the /kill command. Makes it really feel like things can get out of control/ he can adapt to ANYTHING)

it helps with most cheese but also just sucks because the area is unclear
Ah, Maho doesn’t have anything like that. They gain “adaptation points” over time or from being hurt. The wheel will spin and an audio cue will play to indicate they’ve gained an adaptation point. Then when they encounter an obstacle they’ll spend that point to gain some new ability, which also has a different audio cue so you know they’ve gained something
Obstacles include:
- taking damage, 50% damage reduction per adaptation and after 4 adaptations Maho becomes immune to that damage type.
- having a harmful effect, Maho will become immune to that effect
- low health, Maho will gain regeneration if at low health. This will stack to high levels of regeneration on repeated adaptations
- unable to reach their target, Maho will gain a ranged attack similar to the warden
- still unable to reach target, Maho will gain a slash attack that nullifies limitless and destroys blocks
- more that I’m yet to add
The issue with running away from Maho is that they may accumulate enough adaptation points that they become impossible for you to kill

Correct, you have to get the base ars armor to tier 3. But the awakened versions of armor is the tier upgrade

Keep your distance and try to run / avoid the initial domain. After that stay careful of the projectiles but he has no melee attack so you can put on pressure as long as you're careful.

Hello, server owner of a pack containing Ars plus and my players have asked if I can change the spawn of the basic wizards to stop them spawning in the Overworld, I saw a config option for this but whenever I change it, it gets overwritten on a restart. Current plan is that they won't be craft-able. You have to find/loot them from structures that will have them. Doing that bc A) Makes a reward for the structures and B) limits how many a player can have since they're such a strong tool

Only reason I wouldn't do that is lack of versatility. I totally understand the mana concerns, not sure if there's a way to make augments of certain effects free (I don't think so?) But this particular addon adds a lot of ways to be more mana efficient so I don't think it's that big of a concern
