So I'm looking for a way to not hit other players/friends with my Spells. Specifically I have a Fire spell that is on my Enchanter Sword with Filter Monster + AOE + Chaining + Ignite + Flare + Amp. I've messed around with fitler and not yet found the right one to make this work. I believe I've tried Fitler Not Player before and had similar issues, but it could have maybe been the order I put it in?

I didn't think there was a filter player but maybe I'm playing on an older version but I'd think that would solve it
Yea filter 'Not Player' is a thing, but it didn't seem to work. Does anyone know if it has to be at the beginning or end of the spell for the filter to take proper effect?
I could probably mess with it later today when I get home from work but I've never used the filters
I am on 1.16. I'll try some more myself, but if you do figure out a way I'd appreciate the share for sure.
I have a similar issue, but for Minecolonies citizens
My chain fire attack keeps dropping portions of my population, and the raiders are human, so I don't know what filter to even start with
No real way to avoid the flare aoe
Especially in 1.16
You can limit the damage by putting a filter after chain
if you put it before, the spell will still chain on players. it simply avoids using them as start point
Worth an experiment, my colonists like to catch on fire through my fortress walls, then stay burning for multiple minutes until they die
Raid can be long over, and someone just drops dead of immolation
I tried putting the filter at the start and then putting one right after flare and I think through limited testing that it stopped hitting my friends so maybe try that?
aight, thanks for that, will try next time I log in
