#Anyone found any good uses for Orbit form?

Just seems incredibly niche, even more so than something like Underfoot. The projectiles only hit horizontally, and only at a fixed height that won't touch anything shorter than a block.

Should hit a bit shorter than a block when you're crouching on newer versions afaik

Depending on what you're doing, orbit can be entertaining to work with. Break->aoe turns orbit into a tunneler. Spam the spell and just sprint.

#

I bet Stoneblock players LOVE this one... Lol

orbit knockback with whatever augments you prefer is a great way of not caring about melee enemies anymore, too

Charge yourself with orbits then leap against something is a good starting point

#

Otherwise summons

#

Otherwise weird combo with propagators

Also how would that even work with summons? You'd have to run into a wall or enemy I guess

lilac elm
#

The summon_focus copy the self and orbit spell you cast on the summons you have

#

So for example vexes have high chance to trigger the orbit when they rally into the enemy

summon_decoy is a summon in that case.
lingering works with summon_decoy

If you REALLY hate someone's guts and their base lingering summon_decoy
and orbit explosion or self explosion will remove 1-2 mountains

Propagators are glyphs from Elemental and Omega that cast the glyphs after them as a different form

#

So combo with the sumfocus with self+propagate projectile for example

My problem with using orbit for mining though is that for whatever reason sometimes the game just decides "No, I'm not going to mine that block at leg height even though I was mining all of the other blocks at leg height"
SO OFTEN
Like one in every ten blocks

#

and don't tell me "just crouch" cause that defeats the entire point of being able to run through rock

That's why I add the AoE. When it mines the higher block, it mines the lower ones, too. On occasion, I have to adjust, but in general, it works. I've also had the occasional problem that I didn't amp my spell, so I run into a block my spell wasn't set for. Lol

Using orbit blink with a warp scroll in offhand, tied to a prison with a named warden may work well in pvp

If you add sensitive to the orbit does it not hit walls? Is there a way to make it only hit entitys?

Depending on the glyphs afterwards, it may or may not interact with blocks. break for example, targets blocks, so would interact with blocks. But a glyph like harm doesn't interact with blocks on default, so does not hit blocks

The wild thing about Orbits is that you can stack an absolute ton of them, at various distances.

This is pretty nice for some types of bosses, and can make you basically untouchable.

#

For example, you can fling the wilden boss back up in the air as it charges you and also slow fall it. Thus, as long as your ping and tps is okay it can't actually hurt you on some phases.

#

You can do fun stuff with lingering, too.

#

Having summoned monsters mirror your orbits makes every spell a homing spell. 🙂

I'd say orbit is more oriented towards certain gimiks, like mining, launching things in the air, just radius utility or defense

sturdy dirge
#

As long as your summons are a good distance away, and you're careful not to trigger them yourself, explosion orbits on your summoned mobs become absolutely evil.

lucid vault
#

They're absolutely sinister for pvp, of that's what you want.

#

For example, you can layer hex and a very strong poison spell in the same space and get simulcast that can't even be fooled by mahou tsukai invis daggers.

Do orbit -> Delay-> Launch-> Delay->Air Scissors Max amplify. Almost one shots full prot5 diamond if they stay in long enough.

orbit aoe aoe rune sensitive blink
Have a warp scroll in your inventory, set to send the melee attackers wherever you want.

orbit summon_decoy x8 explosion + focus of summoning = crash

Cruel. I love it

🕴️(belt of levitation) shapers_focus underfoot lingering sensitive aoe aoe accelerate extend_time intangible amplify aoe

north moon
#

This causes a quicksand effect in a large area around oneself, continuously burying whatever was standing on the ground before - the belt of levitation stops the caster from being buried as well

I’ve so far crashed the server I’m in 3 times by doing
projectile lingering aoe sensitive summon_decoy
And then
orbit sensitive explosion aoe aoe aoe aoe aoe
However if you replace one of the aoe‘s after the explosion with a sensitive it is one of the best deep mining spells ever. On average clears out a more than a 75x75x75 space but still crashes so yeah. Quick mining but a 5-10 minute server restart lol.

#

Just make sure you use a summoning focus summon_focus while you cast it so that it applies on the decoy’s
