Playing in StoneBlock 3 currently and I've been tinkering around a lot but just can't really find a good damaging spell. So far I haven't been able to do anything that surpasses simply Harm + all Amplify in terms of DPS. Plus, some enemies (Shulkers and certain bossses for instance) are just straight up immune to effects like Ignite that aren't immune to Harm.. I mean, Harm + max Amplify works but it's boring.
I'd prefer nothing that uses Explosion because I don't wanna destroy terrain everywhere I'm fighting things.
#Can't figure out a good DPS spell (base Ars)

A drygmy familiar makes harm delay harm delay harm.... slightly slower but a lot more damage per cast.
Hmmm... that does seem like an interesting idea, I didn't know harm was an earth spell
Problem is it only does like 2 more damage per cast than max amped harm and isn't spammable since spamming is basically like refreshing the duration of a damage over time effect
So overall the DPS is still lower since you have to wait out the damage
Though it does give you a break for mana regen
2 more damage per tick, I meant
I don't have 1.18 ars installed, but it might be possible to use the block shaping focus to spawn a mageblock, ignite it, and then trigger flare on it and splash things that are immune to status effects.
You do know that
x as much space as you still have does no terrain damage?
one dampen prevents explosion from destroying blocks? Why isn't that in the glyph description?
Cause Bailey likes his secrets? 🤷♂️
Dunno, but it should at least do that unless that got removed. Might want to check with a hill you wanted to remove anyways.
But afaik 1x
, no matter where after
and no matter how many
s after/before it will turn off terrain damage
Ooh, might try that out. Still kinda sucks that it's so noisy but I can deal with it
I'll test this out as well, for funsies
Maybe
could work for that also?
So, I tried the blockbending thing and it's interesting. I don't really think it works all that well with Flare, it doesn't set the block on fire unless you use something like Gravity and then it can be on fire while it's still an entity, but I can't seem to get it to reliably proc flare while it's still in flight. The block itself does seem to do an okay amount of damage though
But blockshaper +
x5 does actually hit pretty freakin hard, though it does leave mageblocks or mageblock items (which I didn't even know could happen) everywhere
Aiming it does kinda have a learning curve and it's hard to do in tight spaces
Could even throw in a
to make it a shotgun
Is there a way to launch blocks with the blockshaper focus that doesnt only impart horizontal momentum? As far as I've been testing you can't actually launch anything up or down towards where you're aiming
