Any advice on making a lingering spell last longer? I'm trying to farm a drop from a mod that is way too good at preventing fake players (auto mob killing blocks) from farming the drops, but I've found that slinging a linger -> heal spell does kill the wither skellies efficiently + without using my sword + lasts longer
And the spell actually counts as me killing em

Just had a fun idea for a bastard child of vanilla encoded storage tech and modded.
Projectile pierce 8 interact through a line of 9 display cases. Each monitoring separate lectern networks for whatever item you just fired through
That would tell you the bit code for that item with an insanely tiny footprint for the encoder. Practically instant too. And not needing to deal with carts

So. Two things
- The y value damage bonus on wind shear is at about 10 blocks off the ground. So all that height doesn't do anything.
- Without the iframe skips from kindling 3 (and therefore this doesn't work at all for 1.21), this is just a single shear and then a heal.
- The reason it one taps any mob is that they despawn when >128 away from a player. They're not being damaged to death, they just stop existing. So no drops
- Off by two error
I had the same despawning issue while creating my Bodyslam spell
It took me quite a while to figure out why sheeps fell down well but creepers disappeared
But I think the idea is interesting

like maybe having the warp cords under y 300

Interesting. I have been using a combination of Projectil, Harm, Amplify, Amplify, Bubble, Amplify, Amplify, Delay, Harm, Amplify to deal 25 damage, but I have been unlocking new glyphs as shock and so on and I wasn't sure what to do. I will have to test yours

I-Frames or Immunity Frames, are durations where a player is invulnerable to damage. Ways to bypass these immunity frames are referred to as I-Frame Skips.
In the base mod, there are no I-Frame skips available. In 1.21.1, Ars Elemental adds a glyph called Nullify Defense that will reset an entities I-Frames. In older versions there are other I-Frame skips available.

Interact on its own is a right click, yeah. 1.21 has a modifier to make it a left click. But I think it still wouldn't work to break something with a pickaxe because you normally hold the left click to break, not a single instant left click/punch
I was kind of hoping that if the pickaxe was fast enough then a "click" would do it. Would be kind of cool to have

Was trying to setup this up with a turret to do an auto-fortune/crushing setup but wanted to make use of my fortune 7 pick instead of just the 3 luck or whatever can be applied to the break glyph
there are a few other mods that would let me use my pickaxe like that but trying to stay as a magic purist in atm10
I don't believe this would work with turrets as they lack arms to hold your pick
ATM10 should have the update to allow interact to act as left click. It's definitely worth trying out. I'm using interact turrets to dynamically set item frames for filters
I figured it would use an item from a nearby inventory? I thought I had seen that on one of the glyphs descriptions but I could also just be making that up entierly lol
This is what I've used to try to use a pickaxe in my offhand to break a block. I've also tried adding 
before the interact to try to increase the duration the left click would be going for but what I suspect is that at each resolution of the spell its just a single instant left click command
I'm not actually sure that 
is behaving correctly. That should left click something, when left clicking an item in an item frame it pops out. When I use that spell it rotates the item instead which is the right click behavior.

Statwise they are identical, but the spell schools themselves are not 100% balanced, so depending on your playstyle and personal spell preferences you might get more bang for your buck from one school vs another.
Or just download Ars Elemancy and then you don’t have to choose between them.😁

As far as I remember from testing
in 1.20.1, it reduces the damage and push so much that I rather summoned water to deal with it
I am confused about the extend time with the self conjure magelight. Without any extend time, it gives nightvision for 30 seconds. If you max extend time, it gives nightvision for 1:30 min. That doesn't feel right to me. Am I doing something wrong?

like maybe (wild guess have no clue about the workings of the mod) the fakeplayer casts the touchspell but doesnt get teleported to the runes location

the targeting of the spell makes sense and prolly works the same as when a player targets something, i just wonder how the rune casts spells under the hood
if turrets are 1 fakeplayer getting teleported to the turret, then shooting the spell like a player, i assume any inventory checks try to use the nearest inventory then it would make sense that runes are also using that fakeplayer as casted but the fakeplayer doesnt get teleported to the rune first. which would make sense bc for the targetselection i assume he wouldn't have to be there
it would kind of also make sense to me if for each dimension you have such a fake player and that fake player is by default located at 0,0,0
for a bit of testing, if i load a new world and test it out in the overworld it sends me to 0,0,0

even if the invulnerability check should work and avoid depleting if the iframes shield the damage already
having a combo of dots probably depletes some mana

I put the particle emission to the minimum on all my parts but im just naturally drawn to spells that summon a couple thousand projectiles
instead of optimizing for raw damage you can make spells that are easier to hit consistently and lower danger to yourself

I have been having trouble coming up with spells that do damage but also dont effect my teammates too much, anyone got any ideas?? i was thinking a chain spell that ignores my teammates but dont know how to go about it. Hi, I was wondering how (if it's even possible) to craft a spell to use a mekanism Cardboard box on on a block and then break and pick it up and put it in my inventory all via a spell.
I figured something like Touch - Interact - Place Block - Break - Pickup Item might work, but it just places the Cardboard box next to the target block, then breaks the target block and puts the target block in my inventory.
Is there a combination which allows a spell to use Interact in a RMB way since the cardboard box covers whatever block it is right-clicked on? Or is Interact limited to LMB?
So... I got it to work!
Here's what I found worked:
Projectile - Sensitive - Interact - Place Block - Delay - Delay - Break - Item Pickup
With the cardboard box in my offhand
Probably need block shaper as well.
Proj sensitive is if you need to capture blocks with no hitbox. Otherwise you should be good to remove that sensitive
Using it for picking up spawners without breaking the spawners themselves
I'm not well aquainted with spell crafting beyond pretty basic stuff, so this was my first time doing something more complex that had to account for spawners
not seeing block shaper (using whatever version of Ars Stoneblock 3 uses [1.18.2]) so I don't think block shaper is in the version I'm using
Ok, so now it's just breaking the target block after a delay instead of recognizing the empty cardboard box in my offhand as a valid block to use to RMB interact with the target block. And I legit haven't changed anything. It spontaneously stopped working on ANY block
Interact on its own is a right click. Place block would try to place a block on the side of the block that the projectile hits
Break block obviously breaks the block that it hit. So normally a place block break block would result in placing a block down and then breaking the block behind it. Since the two effects resolve differently
It's been a while since I've played in 1.18. I don't know if interact specifically needs an augment to use offhand, else if it is a simple right click with your main hand
Block shaper was added 1.19 I think? I don't recall. It changes how block targeting works on spells that create or modify blocks
It's so bizarre because it worked a couple times, but I'm starting to wonder if it "looks like it's working" when I'm within click range of the target block, meaning I'm still close enough to use the cardboard box from my offhand

Propogators serve as a sort of “restart” for the spell starting from a new source.

The spell starts from you as the caster touching a surface to create a wall that targets blocks - that’s the

spell can still do good damage if you don’t have a bunch of mods adding tougher mobs, especially when you add in boosts from Ars armor threads.
I’m not sure what “reasons” would prevent you adding addons though, as there isn’t really anything that would break from adding any of the Ars addons post world gen.

on my enchanters sword is working out very well as a maximum two-shot weapon on anything not immune to poison - if the initial hit doesn't kill outright, the target gets slammed with Poison IV for several seconds and that hilariously wrecks health so the follow-up hit usually kills
6.66 hp per second according to minecraft wiki, and that's after being slammed with a Sharpness sword with Netherite base damage
(I admit, I put mine through Apotheosis and it now puts Bleeding and Sundering on targets so a lot of things just straight-up die or get slammed to 1hp from poison then die from a tick of bleed so it's a hit and watch them die weapon for me, but the spell is still extremely good)

So, I'm trying to automate the production of stone using a turret, but the turret isn't actually creating any terrain. I'm using ( touch > sensitive > conjure terrain > amplify > aoe > aoe > pierce > pierce > smelt ) to make a 3x3x3 block, but it does nothing when cast, despite working fine from the book.
I tried on a timed turret, and a manipulation turret from elemental. I also tried projectile instead of touch/sensitive, and tried without pierce. What am I doing wrong?

Lots of spells in Ars Nouveau use fake players under the hood to achieve their effects, so you may need to trust the player Ars_Nouveau (or its UUID) inside your chunks.
For MineColonies, it may be easier to view your Permission Events in your Town Hall, and trust the Ars_Nouveau player after attempting to fire a turret.

this is where it goes into the realm of opinions as there isnt really a optimal setup for every situation
this being said I always have life drain in a top spot as its just useful™ as for warding its usually a t2 for me as the +2 magic dmg reduction/lvl is good but doesnt scale well and is otherwise not worth the t3
I generally have life drain in a t2 slot as my top slots go to spell power, kindling, shocking, and chilling.
Haven’t worked out my favorite lineup for 1.21.1 yet now that I don’t really need kindling
yeah, life drain is defo a t2 minimum for me when I have it, though honestly you could get away with t1 if you put out enough dps, 20/40/60% be like that
Warding at t2 is nice for when that inevitable wither skelly pops out of nowhere and gives you a nice helping of Wither though
I made a firework with 7 firework stars, but when I cast the firework spell or launch the firework it doesn't explode and there's no damage
It just sputters out some purple vfx and makes a whooshing sound while doing no damage

The book doesn't make sense, what's the logic in saying that you can simply "create harmful blocks"? There's no logic to that, unless there's an example.

Aight, I’d suggest to drop either harm or flare and one of the splits. Add an amplify to the flare and put hex before heal. Make sure you have the tier 3 kindling thread and go to town.

Is it possible to recreate Mysti's Gravely Dig to go in any direction?
It's one of those treasure books found in loot chests. It's great for going down quickly without having to leave holes everywhere, so I'm always glad to find one.
Problem is, it only goes downward. I'd like to be able to create a version that goes in whichever direction the player is interacting with - sideways, upwards, or down. But I'm not very good at spellcrafting, and can't quite figure it out; don't know if it's even possible to make it go anywhere but down.
If anyone knows how to make it work, I'd appreciate it very much

There are also some techy ~infinite power exploits, but that's more for "special" people

Best I can think of is for you to check out the homing projectile
Orbit only triggers once it contacts an enemy though, so I can't think of a clean way for it to automatically detect an entity and trigger a propagate homing or something

is my favorite spell for moving around, it's tier 1 and I use it all the time still, easily my most-used spell. If you time a leap spell shortly before hitting the ground, you won't take fall damage. Still if you don't like that, you can add
(tier 1) or
(tier 2) to deal with fall damage while leaping around. Leap works with elytra instead of rockets, too (except can't negate elytra damage with leap)








with silk-touched ores as the first block in your hotbar will crack open 4 of those ores with Fortune 4, better than you can get in vanilla. When you get to tier 3 you can update it to a chaining spell. Alternatively you can silk-touch your ores while mining, come to the surface, biuld a tall 3x3 tower of all your ores and cast 







over and over, mining the stack from the top down, using fortune 4
I also like 




for building, it's tier 1 i you don't need silk touch, I use it a lot while trying to figure out my roof outlines (working on a weird roof right now)

to grow them fast, if you don't have bonemeal. You can combine those on spell turrets to make a fully automated wood farm, too. I've got one that can farm every single 1x1 overworld tree with optional modes for silk touch (leaves) or fortune (saplings, mostly for jungle trees).
Very early on when my mana regen was bad, I also used

Craftoria-NA needs a loot hall but moving Lootr chests without AE2 spatial storage has been a wild goose chase
I've found that knockback is good for forcing budding amethyst & certus to turn into a dropped item. Basically the Spectrum resonance enchant but much more accessible
I don't think any spell in ars can move lootr chest. Does spatial io work though? I thought it not too
