#Jarred Mobs
1206 messages · Page 2 of 2 (latest)
the cow actually scaled really oddly before we made the jar bigger
yeah things that dont respect their hitbox definitely wont work
just put them on the bottom shelf
the jar will reveal a modeler's shameful secrets
now I need to go make a house in a jar
if contraptions work well in them, I can imagine doing like bonsai trees in a jar, ship in a bottle, that kind of stuff
a less laggy chisels and bits??
🤞
so, the noteblock behavior- does it pull it dynamically from the mob? Would there by anything weird that happens with something like a contraption?
just their ambient noises if they have any
not gonna throw a null error or something?
nah
oh man, I need to try my screaming goat jar with the noteblock
yessss, warden sounds on command
okay, so enderman and ender dragon renders are weird on the item sprite
dragon has flown the jar completely, and enderman sticks out the bottom halfway and sits in the corner
Know of any mods that render mobs as items?
Trickier than I thought it would be for weirdly shaped mobs
Easy villagers you can pick up villagers like items if that helps
Hmm all villagers have the same hit box though, I’d be surprised if it worked for the dragon
Oh for rendering the mob in the jar when it's in an inventory or hand. Got it. Hmm
Even just a tooltip that said the name and mob type would be handy
i think that's already in
The mob rendering inside it is pretty adorable but it only works for squarish mobs
rather than being dynamically positioned, could vanilla and Ars mobs have a static tiny mob (of the correct type) just placed in the middle of the jar?
guardian tails freak out on the item sprite for jarred guardians
yeahhh rendering mobs in jars is harder than I thought
I was baited by the panda fitting so nicely
can't you just shrink them to the point that they fit in the jar nicely?
like 500% for ghasts, squid, glowsquid and any mob over 3 blocks tall
so there's a funny little thing with the jars (not a problem, to be clear), it seems like the mobs appear how they were when they were jarred.. like down to their look direction
I kind of look how they look unique
hard to tell in this picture, but the blazes on top are all looking in slightly different direcitons
Every jarred starby is going to be looking up at you with their sad eyes, "please don't put me in the jar"
the blazes on the left and right were hovering above me, so their heads are tilted down slightly
WAIT! Guardians look directly at you when you place them
like, their pupil moves
👁️
wait, they eyes seem to always move while in the jar
always looking away, strangely
Along with the other eyes
After all you've done
lmao
Can't wait till this is public ready
I fixed the item renderer I think
probably tanks your FPS tho, have to do some caching since right now this is creating a tile and an entity on your client every frame lmaoo
Ah. Probably not great then
That’s balance, mobs inflict frame damage when held
This is going to be one of those chunkban things, I'll throw a shulker of jars at someone and crash their client
As long as I fill it one at a time from my inventory I'll be fine, but the loading of all of them when I throw it at them will kick them from the server
And yourself as it leaves your player lol
I thought that trick was more your client having to download the data from the server. Even so, I'll be able to log back in, they won't
you know. i actually dont mind the phantom like this
makes me nostalgic for thaumic horizons 🥲
mob infusion was fun
now to infuse the chicken with some spices and batter and deep fry it
Ars Creo infusion chambers
gears and lightning all around as you fill a vat with chocolate milk and a cow
the mob cloning was the unbalanced part. because you could clone things like donkeys holding items and dupe the items
a bit surprised they didnt clear the held items lol
Mobs with inventory was still new at the time I think
Oh good question. I just closed my PC though
I will say the size of a shulker and phantom compared to the warden would be terrifying if that was the real size
Wingspan of the phantom is like 5x the height of the warden.
Shulkers the size of ghasts
they just all scale to the same size
The baby chicken seemed scaled properly at least to the regular chicken
any non-living mobs we want added to the whitelist?
apparently armor stands count as living lmao
End crystals?
chest boat in a jar as an early game shulker box
Anyway once you get blink it must be really easy to catch mobs
Just blink them to prison
I'm gonna see about setting up a jarring facility
jarred blazes for light, mob sounds on command with noteblocks
I set up a bunch at a drygmy and something at my base is still chunkloading
yeah, I put one evoker in a jar at the drygmies
I may have to disable my slime farm, that's the only portal I still have left
I don't think the drygmies are doing it, there's been some ticking entity loading my base for a while now. I removed all the warp relays, and the only portal is at my slime farm
wish Crash Utils would warp me directly to said entity rather than to the top-most block in the area that I click on
whatever the entity is, it's loading as much area as a player would
rather than a small area like a nether portal. Hm, do you think it's the armor stands?
does the datapack do anything special?
I suppose it would be easy enough to test by just removing the few I placed
just lets us pose it and whatnot
not really sure what all datapacks can do
Hermitcraft uses this datapack pretty extensively, but they also have a really beefy server
they use individual armor stands holding blocks as a sort of microblock to make statues out of
ooo mcfunctions
would not surprise me if they added a fake player to pose it properly
not sure
Try to use the player statue from the mod
If you find a statue bat, it drops a statue core
That can be used on a player statue to make it grow into an entity if I understood
I've got 3 regular armor stands at my base for holding each robe set. Nothing is loaded with them. I could try posing them later
I had looked into xacris's loaded area as well, and at least teleporting to the middle of the loaded area, there was absolutely nothing in that middle chunk. Like at all
What are the functionality differences between jarring wild starbuncles/drygmys/whirlisprigs vs jarring summoned ones or familiars.
Also, how will this cross-react with Botania and Occultism summons?
Does botania have summons?
All this does is shove a mob into a jar. Similar to occultism soul gems
But these can then be placed down and a few have special things when they are placed
Such as milking cow jars, eggs pop out from chicken jars, villagers can trade, etc
no worries
not a vanilla behavior
love that the goat in a jar screams every time you milk it, lol
hm, void containment jar...
trash can? lol
craft a void jar with a containment jar to have a trash can that can have items hoppered/starbied into
better than crafting, could you make the void jar item entity able to be jarred by the ritual?
actually... Item Entities would be really fun for display purposes
gah
stop feature creeping, Xacris
oh cool
I can properly place a door in a jar!
on second thought
I mean. Yay! I can display source berries
And uh... Skulk blocks!
and the skulls of my enemies
yeah, heads in jars lol
Advancement: "honey I shrunk the kits"
Capture a baby fox
I added “Honey I Shrunk the Starbuncle” as a hidden one
Ok that works lol
"this door is ajar" for capturing an oak door item
🙂
all must suffer
Umh, the familiars are blacklisted or is it a carry-on situation ?
I want to make traps out of these guys now, with them being able to laser people from in their jars >.> Put sunglasses on them to stop it
Where is the jar of dirt achievement
Have not blacklisted them yet but need to, thanks for reminder lol
Raid phase is not ending by jarring a pillager
I tried both with a vindicator and with an evoker
@sick parrot need to check what's different with soul gems, since those don't break it
The soul gems don't seem to have any significant difference about removing the mob
Why does this thing locks
is it the difference in mob removal?
do the gems kill the mob in the instant they are picked up? (code wise)
Both do the same thing from what I see
Use the same removal reason
So 1) there's something else
2) soul gems can cause the raid lock too
I’m pretty sure raids resolve themselves after enough time?
Eh, must be a pretty long time then
Like more than 10 minutez
If only I could find a pillager outpost in that server, I could try taking it to the frozen raid to see what happens
But apparently not even one generated in FC
Definitely need this one. Lol
suggestion: allow jarring of item frames for better item display in jars
YES
Luckily I've got my containment jar handy
Wtf is a heic file... Huh. Apparently that's what you get with an iphone sending an image though Google photos to an Android
There. Png
that is a bucket not a jar, that danger noodle, is nice, and wants your mammalian warmth to get the energy to hunt rats and mice (or other live snake food)
apparently if you jar the ender dragon and wait a bit, another one spawns
So dragon duping is a thing neat
I REALLY hope they blacklist opening dragon jars in the overworld.
Amusingly, she just makes a line to 0 0 0
So you end up with a fancy underground tunnel
Truthfully, I'd make a singleplayer world in creative and get the dragon jar, just to see how it plays out in Overworld
You just gotta release it near somebody's base and its a weapon
I can already hear the clickety clack of LavaCat's keyboard as the dragon jar is removed from the blacklist in configs...
