I wouldn’t go crazy on diamonds getting there, but it is worth some investment when there are diamond events. Allows you to take advantage of AP events (like ruins treasury)

Boxes can be opened on Nova events (Module/Nova day or Nova/Glory BL), but you will get more points for gear than nova. Even if nova drops are a fixed amount and gear is a random amount.

Getting hero cards doesn’t give points. Using them does.

Actually not too much of a difference comparison. Both are possible to get through nanos but aren't much or are harder to get, rally size from war hall and march size from research, both have some early game heroes that help like var or Dr. J, but past a certain point nearly just heroes or nanos. Hall of War's equivalent for March Size is research
Agent X can do rally size as the only hero but there's multiple march size heroes 4* and 5*, and only one 4* hero for rally size, Dr. J.
Both have nanos that can help, but 50k rally size on an epic nano isn't a whole lot and some march size nanos are pretty good.
