Candies divided by the average amount of candies per watermelon:

Watermelons required minus the daily free ones times three:
1600-(85×3)=1360

$30 for 54 (74 total)
$80 for 128 (202 total)

Then
$250 for 300 (502 total)
$900 for 900 (1402 total)
$1270 total

Or
$200 for 240 (442 total)
$900 for 900 (1342 total)
$1220 total and hope you beat the average and not have to buy another $100 pack.

So even though it takes a bit more than twice as many event items, it takes way more than twice as much money because you only have a small number of efficient packs then you need to buy the expensive, inefficient packs.

On the plus side, since it's doomfest, you'll also be getting about 11-12 sets of tier 3 rewards. $550-600 worth of Ironclaws.

Old states come with pretty well established states and more experienced players.

But an active alliance is an active alliance and you'll grow
