I think I know the problem @fossil rose it's most likely the 3GB of RAM in the standard RG-VITA model. Vita3K requires at least 4GB of RAM and Vulkan 1.0 support. It's interesting because people have claimed to get more playable PS-VITA Emulation on the RG505.

wipEout is doing well, 30 FPS after it gets those pipelines compiled

I know it plays better on GammaOS, but stock seems pretty happy with it. This plays really, really well. Touchscreen sections (menus etc) feels natural

Zero configuration changes either, I've just started it up cold

Two drops in FPS per lap. The first lap it compiled the pipelines, then that was it for pipelines.

The same place on the race map had me drop the FPS to around 12-15 each time, for a split-second.
But for 99% of race time, it held 30 FPS

I'd still give Vita Emulation 2-3 years to make significant milestones and become usable.

It takes time for emulators to become good and a viable option against real hardware.

Just look at Sega Saturn and 3DS Emulation as examples.

Once Vita3K becomes mature it will definitely have a fair amount of games playable on a T618.

And RK3576 and other T618 like chipsets.

The Rampocalypse is just going to make new handhelds shittier now and until some indeterminate point in the future. The RG Vita is a perfect example - Anbernic gutted the RAM and storage over their 2022-2023 handhelds featuring the same chip. Retroid's RP6 is similar - no more 12GB model.

(And that's aside from the simple price hikes for all this stuff)
