I had an O2 mini that I loved, till I sold it because it was too big to be a goes everywhere in my pocket device, to date probably the device I kept around the longest outside of my RP2s that I also wish I hadnt sold.

This seemed super interesting when it was first unvieled and everyone thought that it would be the usual Anbernic T820/D8300 and vita sized. But considering how large the thing is actually and how underpowered I just cant bring myself to buy it.
Bought an RP classic from the marketplace so hopefully that can scratch my need for a "goes in my pocket" android that I can use to play games during breaks at work and listen to music otherwise.

Yeah, I have a Flip 2 that I got over an RP5 (which this is about the size of) because it's more pocketable. If this were actually a D8300 and the size of an actual vita I'd jump on it, but alas.

The real issue is companies keep putting these 16:9 screens on devices that get up to PSP/DC. I love my TSP (mainly for GBA and letting the kids trash) but that had the same issue ... At a presumably cheaper price.

For like ~$100 you can get a used RG405v with a T618 and the correct screen for the systems it plays. Heck, I'll sell ya mine lol.

But I just ordered a Pocket Air Mini for under $130, from Amazon of all places. Even if the Vita is $100 and the Pro $150, the PAM blows that value away, and with a good aspect ratio for what it plays.

he's right sort of. powkiddy threw everything together with frankensteined daughterboards so the controls -work- in dinput mode only, which fucks up winlator and some android games(but is fine for moonlight?). I'd say the gpu driver is at least better than the rp3+, since it plays some vita games that crash out on the retroid(i have both), but also its temp cap is locked at 45, so driver numbawang doesn't matter anyways.

Retroid driver lets you set the max temp to 45, 65, or 85 via the performance dropdown. 65 is a sweet spot if you like hand-warming as a feature alongside more performance. Something makes me believe anbernic went that route, hence the heatsink grill and holes

To be fair, there's not much reason most would be using Vita3K on a T618. People have moved beyond Anbernic and Retroid devices from 2022-2023.

RP Classic is not really a system I'd consider for PSP, but it's fine for other stuff that's not 16:9 and/or requires an analog stick.

In the end the RG476H is sometimes available for around the same price. Their singles day sale made the 476H hard to argue with when compared to the AIR Mini

The AIR Mini is a great one though, and so nice when dedicated to the 4:3 systems.
