Most definitely! It should play everything up to and including the full N64 and Dreamcast catalogs plus 95% of PSP and Sega Saturn games full speed no problem, as well as some of the easier to run GameCube and PS2 games.

I would advice the same. The 505 has great high quality controls (yeah R2 and L2 position is not ideal for shooters or moder games, but they're fine for retro gaming), Battery is very decent. GammaOS works wonderfully. The resolution is perfect for the power. The screen is pretty great as far as color reproduction goes, but sucks for high and low brightness. I found it pretty comfy, even though it's a flat slab, and I hate flat slabs. The 505 can be gotten in the used market for as low as $50 if you are patient.

The RG Vita on the other hand looks super cheap and plasticky, dpad and ergonomy looks awful, specs are garbage for 2026 and will probably come at an above $100 price shipped.

Idk what's wrong with Anbernic lately, but they are producing pretty cheaply made devices. I wish they'd get their shit together and redefine low end devices like they did in 2024 with the H700 series. This "low-mid" end knock-off garbage they are trying to make, only makes their reputation worse.

Well, brief update for those following along with

Will Dash Actually Be Sent The Pro Model?

Gardiner and I were sent a Vita. Which maybe 3 of you here will know is unusual, typically Gardiner doesn't cover these handhelds, but he loves Sony's PS Vita, and asked if I'd check with my Anbernic contact to see if they'd ship him one also to cover on his Youtube channel. They were (no surprise) beyond happy to.

His has arrived, and is the base model. I was told the White Pro was sent to me, but the more time passes (and the more my delivery company is the worst thing imaginable and is now 3 days late delivering it), the more likely it seems I have not been sent the Pro.

Anyway, that's it. No updates. Only the fact that it seems I've just been told its the Pro and once I get it, it won't be.
