Ability to use comfortably both Sticks and DPad, and not having to sacrifice one for the other. Ability to use the buttons without hitting the right stick. The Retroids have undoubtly the better spreadsheets but are obvioulsly imbalanced when it comes to controls. There are also people liking LCD more because OLED subpixels sometimes lead to weired artifacts when used with advanced shaders.

I guess as someone who adored the 477m then sold it off for the Thor…. I’d have a very very hard time stomaching the cost to play on a smaller screen, no driver support. Which I know Stubbs mentioned but honestly not a single celebrity ever talks about the importance of driver support. I’ll gladly take a slight hit to ps2 upscale to play 30+ more nintendont snitch games

Honestly that’s the only thing that really sucks about these hyper powered Anbernic devices is lack of drivers

I’d love to have a vertical with two sticks and the ability to play more on it literally is crippling the amount of difference drivers make in my eyes

Nah theirs is also off. You can see the bottom black area is larger than the top. The device is tilted back so technically the top should have a larger black area. But the bottom is larger. But anyway, I assume all of these are samples/prototypes, which hopefully they fix in the production models.

fwiw it's perfectly aligned for me, but appears to be thicker on the opposite end when held at a slight angle. All of the pictures in this thread are at an angle (even Stubbs' that looks mostly straight-on) so that may be the issue, as opposed to actual misalignment. Regardless of how it presents itself, if it will bother you at an angle then it's still something to consider.

I killed all thermal protections down to the kernel level, now just the PMIC/hardware/stage 3 protection kicks in. Unfortunately thermal shutoff occurs before benchmarks complete, although I do observe improved performance.
It's not stable. I'll review the cooling solution tomorrow, replace the thermal compounds and see how we get on

Cool I added a thermal guard now, so if you try to torture your 477V with no fan and max performance mode, you'll get throttled.
In real life scenario with PS2 emulation and heavy shaders, you never hit this. Only with the extreme 3d benchmark which tries to toast the GPU and CPU at the same time

My opinion, just stick with balanced mode + auto fan, you'll actually throttle less because you aren't pinning everything on performance governors, barely tickles the fan

The 4.7” screen is still worse in color (and not just compared to OLED, I’m talking about even other IPS screens, assuming that wasn’t just from issues with early production) and even the aspect ratio on the classic works better for 8:7 and other taller non-4:3 aspect ratios so it’s not like it’s “objectively worse”.
