#Anbernic RG476H

I guess they could go a little taller with the screen though
would make sense anyway cause verticals originated from the gameboy
Yeah if we could get a screen as wide as the 4ā 4:3 but closer to 8:7 or even 1:1 Iād be happy
don't let Retroid hear you or they'll take out the scissors again
Seems weird they keep using āfull screenā when you can see small bezels clearly
aha! I knew they had to have sent review units already
there's always that one dude that doesn't give a shit about the embargo
yeah I don't know how I feel about the black borders around the screen on that color
fullscreen*
-# only available on the black color
fullscreen as in none of the screen is hidden behind the faceplate, we even have a bezel to show that it's the full screen right there
I tried to raise this issue on Reddit and got downvoted to hell with a bunch of "no it doesn't have any borders" comments
Itās Reddit what do you expect?
If you have your own opinions and not part of the hive mind your a nazi or bigot.
As for the 476H itās kind of growing on me but still waiting to see the Pocket Air Mini specs.
The best thing that this has going for it is the screen
Just realized this is almost exactly what the fan mockup of the rp2s XL looked like
I knew Iād seen it somewhere before
I predict mid next week (around 16th) and going on sale on sept 23d
This would have been so much better without this full glass front⦠and probably cheaper!
I like it! but didn't think it'd be that big
should be around the size of a 3ds xl
š®
Iām actually stoked by how big it looks
Going to be a great size for a 4:3 console
I guess so, too
I just want confirmed specs on this and the new Aya. Trying to determine which is for me.
Those two and the Magic H40 or H50 I think. Their naming has me a bit lost. But trying to pick between that bunch.
All the specs are confirmed for this
Isnāt this an RG406H in a new shell?
is the T820 powerful enough for high quality shaders and BFI on 2D systems?
Check Retro Game Corps video on the RG Slide. He would have deffo tested that
the screen is different
Given that this is Anbernic's first attempt at an all-glass front handheld, what do ya think the likelihood is that in a month or two after release we'll start seeing units with the corners of the glass lifting up or the whole darn glass panel just falling off entirely?
Pretty good

Hope not but it will probably happen
It truly would be the return of the RG405M then.
Iād say less likely since they are probably using the same technology/manufacturers everyone else has been using. Iām also not saying Iād bet money on it š
What weight is this? Hoping itās well under 300g
the glass panel/screen lamination will be handled by another company anyway, so very unlikely tbh
The 477 is a tank
we don't know yet
but I'm hoping it's under 300g as well
yes
the t618 was powerful enough for those shaders, so the t820 is also capable.
if you've missed, ignored, or filtered all media and conversation about the t820 and have no idea what it is/does compared to the last major unisoc, here.

If for some reason you need to comfirm your hypersuperstition that you're missing out by not grabbing a dimensity 1100 device(aka the rp4pro).
https://www.notebookcheck.net/Tangula-T820-vs-Dimensity-1100_14598_13242.247596.0.html
thanks!
wtf did they test
its rofl site, like i sayed before
Does anyone know if GammaOS is coming to this?
Probably depends on whether anbernic sends him one
Iāll wait for gamma to fix the screen and likely pick one up discounted in a few months
Apparantly last week ca. 25 rg477Mās were flying above poland on their way to Ukraine.
hell yeah, let's go baby
Looking forward to this as a possible 405m replacement. 477 was too heavy and awkward to hold.
was the 477m as heavy as the win600?
neato
I think i'll get one in retro DMG for my birthday. The color looks neat and i like the chip for GC / Wii
The ANBERNIC RG 476H features a brand-new, all-in-one glass full-screen design, with a custom 4.7-inch display at a resolution of 1280x960 and a 120Hz high refresh rate. It is powered by a 6nm 8-core processor, combining technological sophistication with modern aesthetics, making it lightweight and portable. With a fresh look and visual experien...
Ok, I can't decide, which color to get. I'm torn in between black and purple. Purple is a bit unfortunate, that it doesn't have the exact GC color scheme with the yellow right stick and the face buttons being gray, red and green only, but still looks good. Black seems to go best with the premium all glass front, which is a more modern look.
Retro gray is cool, too, but I don't like the small black bezel around the screen.
Yeah wth, thatās odd- anyone got any insight why that is.
I like the purple one best and am for one glad it doesn't exactly follow the GC color scheme
and I already have a retro gray CubeXX
Yeah, true. I think I just want it follow the exact GC color scheme, because I don't own such a handheld in the exact GC color scheme, yet.
But I think this time I'll go with black. Mostly I find black devices to be boring, it's so standard, but this one looks premium and goes well with the all glass front, as I said.
I guess I'm done with black glossy premium devices as I had a rp5 and the fat PS Vita š
I have a GC RP5 and I regret it a bit
also a white Pocket S
I feel like these glass front devices all look best in black
I preordered odin3 in black
I think so, too!
And it would be my very first all glass front device beside my Vita handheld. So, I think it should be the right choice for me.
It's the design imo , i think they wanted it to have the retro look of the GB
I never saw the appeal on metal handhelds
I hate it
the retro gray is the only color I like here but they had to go and ruin it with an artificial bezel
Smooth PS2
Agreed
GB bazel gang rise up
I can't stand bezels on a white device but it looks cool on DMG ( for me )
Imagine hating us so much that you added that black bezel here
300g seems heavy
Hmm
The Anbernic RG476H feels like a cross between other handhelds released by Anbernic and others. That's not necessarily a bad thing, more like a "greatest hits collection" than a brand new innovative design. Let's take a look.
Sale links are not available yet, I will update when they are ready.
Android handheld starter guide: https://youtu.be...
Im actually think about getting think
Mainly cause I want a dedicated 4:3 handheld that I can use for BFI and such
Interesting times for 4:3 consoles. Never thought I'd say this but I'm leaning more towards the Ayaneo Pocket Air Mini over the RG476H because it's got a bezel and a smaller screen.
I wanna see what the price for the AyaNeo is first
AliExpress Fall Sale starts in 8 hours. Hopefully it lasts until this launches so we can use some coupons
The pocket air mini is more appealing but the lack of chip info is getting tiresome š
Russ said it launches in "about a week" and I think the Ali Express sales last that long too, so we could get lucky, at least for the first few hours
Fake bezels still better than no bezels IMO
As long as it plays up to PSX (which it will most definitely will), that's good enough for me.
Think Iāll be looking to dc
Yeah as long it can go up to at least GameCube 1x I'm happy
I just want a device to play my GBA games. I've got the RG406V and it still doesn't feel "right" to me.
man, Anbernic needs to hurry it up
This might be the only way I get it now š¤š»
Iām curious what feels wrong to you there
You looking for something like the 34xx?
turns out the fake bezel was used before: on the white rg slide
but for some reason it looks better there than in the retro gray rg476h
Maybe. But with a bigger screen of course. I have the RP Mini and playing GBA games on it is a struggle for my eyes. When I played GBA games, it was on the original GBA. Never had the SP growing up so as much as I prefer vertical consoles for everything else. Just for the GBA, verticals don't feel right.
I'd get something with a 16:9 screen. 3:2 looks great on those. Trimui Smart Pro, or if you're feeling fancy, a Retroid Pocket 5
damn looking at the purple gc unit in the video made me wanna go for that over the black one lol
the bezel almost looks bezelless like the RP5
maybe only the retro color has the fake bezel
I already have a Flip 2. Playing GBA on a 16:9 screen (aspect ratio kept) feels even more off to me lol
Itās a tough one. Hopefully this or the Pocket Air Mini will end my search for a console that feels right
Tell you what, 3:2 fills up even more of the screen of a 16:10 panel! Steam Deck or Legion Go S... GBA is massive on those. Which uh, may not be exactly what you want I guess lol, but it looks sweet
sounds like you want something that's bigger than 3.5" but smaller than 5.5"; probably the rg476h is up your alley then
Pretty much what Iām hoping for. Either this or the Pocket Air Mini
the Pocket Ace might also be a consideration if you have money to burn
that ain't money to burn but an investment in the best GBA experience
XU40 H44 may be a less expensive option coming up soon (November)
Best gba experience is a y700 or legion go
I had a 1440p Pocket S for a bit and integer scaled GBA on that was a religious experience
well now I have to bring up the RG552 again
that thing is kinda amazing but simultaneously sucks so hard
I have a RG476H - AMA
I like to describe it as the best worst handheld
how does it compare to the rg477m in terms of feel? does it feel noticeably lighter/more comfortable?
How many weeks have you had it?
its.... such a weird fucking device isnt it š i dont regret mine but argh
yes, lighter and less chonk, the ergos are good
the triggers are the smoothest anbernic have ever made
better than rg556 style which could be a bit scratchy
no comment
When's the first stream?
why does that matter
I haven't watched RGC's video so sorry for repeating but I will say a few points I liked about this:
triggers - as above, smoothest anbernic triggers with the right amount of travel
screen - if you've seen the screen you'll know already how good it is, it's the same one
chip, fan etc. - I've been using it on auto/high and never needed the fan on, so it's always quiet
sticks - same as rg477m, recessed and cap can be removed/changed
weight - same as my iphone max with a case
not for a while, I am finally moving out next week
I need a bit of time to decorate, buy a table, a chair
I shipped all my lighting, camera stands etc. from Hong Kong though
about 300g apparently š
which color did you get? can we get some photos going?
weather/lighting is bad here
4:3 device, I've been mostly playing ps1/ps2 on it
there was a complaint about clicky bumpers I think? this was my feedback as well
With the 476h or the 477m?
to be honest, there's not a lot to say about this device - it's kind of "boring" in a way
but I think there's something good about that, the quality level is what you expect, it's an easy recommend if you want the screen
hopefully they hit a good price point and I'm hoping it's on the lower end of T820 so they are competitve with other recent releases
which is close to the RP5 (280g), rg505 (285g), Powkiddy x28/x55 (295g), Flip 2 (300g), ACE (310g) or Odin 2 Mini (320g), a little more than the 406h (265g) and a little less than the 477m (360g)
I can't remember which company did this, but they had like rubber nipples on the bumper activation spot to make them quieter
DIY, I guess some people will put tape over them
it was already said to be $165 with $150 EB, but guess we don't have an official announcement yet?
I know the launch details but I don't want to confirm because these things can change last minute
its anbernic so im expecting it'll be on the high end, then everyone will complain about price for several weeks ;D
personally all I wanted was the screen of the rg477m in something that doesn't have the chonk of the rg477m due to the metal
so it sounds like this hits the mark
Yeah I had the Slide but didn't like the ergos. Didn't want a metal handheld either so the 477M was no good. I'm very tempted by this, although I wish it had the grips of the 406H.
I donāt know why but I like the ergos of this more than the Pocket S
even though the design is quite similar
Pocket S is heavier no? that might be why
could be, I needed the grip for the pocket s to be usable
nope, y700 is analog on top
pretty hard to call it the best gba experience that way
Not really, most telescopic controllers have enough grip and inset that dpad centric gameplay still feels comfortable
not as comfortable as holding a retroid pocket 5 with a grip peobably
Russ mentioned the side front edges are "sharp" - this is a non-issue for me. Actually I gave Anbernic feedback to say the sides were really comfortable, mostly because of the curved plastic back.
can you ask them to remove the black bezel on the retro grey model
that's really my only nitpick so far
I asked them why it's like that and I wasn't given any info...
So they gave the more powerful handheld the inline shoulder buttons and the weaker one stacked?
Yeah, that tracks.
yeah, tracks perfectly well, because doing those bumps on metal would be expensive, but it's easy on plastic molds
Damn youāre right
it seems they went for the same style as the white rg slide but it doesn't really work as well here
I wish all devices curved or radiused the front edge. Id take a plastic curved edge over all glass any day.
Like the pocket ace?
Like this?
Stickless horizontals are a rare breed these days
This looks pretty damn good! Iāll wait for an AliExpress sale if I decide to replace RP mini
It's sad how much this shoulder buttons are clicky...
Such a great device
Instant turn off. I couldnāt stand the clicky shoulder buttons of the rp2s.
How is it possible the grey model has bezels if it uses the same screen and chassis size? Have they cropped the screen by adding bezels over it?
I doubt they cropped the screen, they probably just modified the shell instead
why? who knows lmao
no big deal to me cause I've never liked those colorways but it's such a weird choice to make
I've heard it's intentional bc they think it goes more with the theme of the design
Yeah itās weird
metal vs plastic 60g win yeay
is the glass that heavy?
not really
i have no clue how it can be that heavy
Rg406h is 265 g, 33 g for a bigger screen and glass front makes sense I think
yeah, if u forget main thing
plastic + glass front vs METAL
Yeah but whatās the metal? If itās aluminium it could be pretty lightweight
true
aluminium yes
After watching Russā impressions I think Iāll probably try to get this early bird, depending on the price I can get on Ali and currency conversion to NZD
I was so hoping for rubber membrane based shoulder buttons... I can live with the clicky buttons, but man... I hate clicky shoulders!
Yeah, same here. Deal breaker for me
Why hate clicky shoulders so much? I would have thought clicky face buttons would be more annoying since you press them more frequently?
They definitely are more annoying and as I said, I can live with them, but I really hate them. I play a lot of SNES games, which sometimes use the shoulders a lot and all the time CLICK CLICK CLICK - man, makes me go crazy!
Not a deal breaker for me, but yeah, I'm a bit disappointed...
Fair enough!
XU Pocket ACE my beloved, soon you will be mine
they painted the surrounding shell black intentionally
presumably they think it looks better
Rg405m fully metal
I think a full plastic RG47XXH will be 260 grams
At first I was somewhat annoyed by the announcement of yet another T820 device but I'm actually kind of interested in this purely for the older 4:3 retro systems like Dreamcast, PS1, Genesis and SNES. It could be a cool companion to my O2 Mini to cover all of my Android emulation needs
405m is still king for me i guess. i just want something mostly flat with a good 4 inch screen i can put in my damn pocket
Definitely ain't splurging that much just for GBA
Now, this is pocketable
200 grams rg40xxh
it's true. this does cover a lot of bases. I honestly forgot about the 40xxh, if they threw even the t820 chip in there and a better screen, i'm in. I really just want the rpmini v2 without the grips.
Youāre describing what I wanted the 406h to be rather than āsquished cubeā
isn't that literally this
I think theyāre saying they wish this was smaller
Better screen not bigger screen
ah gotcha
close though, if this was something inbetween screen and body size wise, that would be sick. like 4.2.
I have the 477m and it is incredible, but too heavy and slightly too big for the pocket. this 476h is going to be a great device, I just don't have a place for it personally
4.2 is the size of the pocket air mini, just sayin
Unfortunately it is an Ayaneo product
Hope this will have non clicky shoulder. That would be a nice 406h remplacement without being too big, can be played in bed.
As long as the chip is able to play up to ps1, n64 and such upscaled and to have relatively heavy shaders, at a good price point, it could be fine
I play stuff like Mario Power Tennis at 2X on my 406V
It goes way beyond that
Of all the handhelds they have released, this one has the ugliest color. I don't think i can have fun playing games looking at this color š
Yeah I'm pretty sure many games can play at 2x
Toadstool Tour was 2x iirc when I had my rg406h earlier this year
I hate my RG40XXH devices, because both have the worst dpads out of all of my handhelds I own and additionally the dpad and face buttons are way too close to the sticks, which really annoys me, because I always end up pushing the sticks by mistake.
Oh yeah, also the right shoulder button feels a bit sticky in comparison to the left one.
So, definitely my worst ANBERNIC devices I own!
And given the resolution of the screen it makes no sense going beyond that tbh
Oh I know that. Just saying I'm happy up to PSX on a device I'd mainly use predominantly for GBA
Yeah the device for me would serve the same purpose. really only looking for up to 5th gen out of this device/form factor
I am tempted to get one for my birthday but i know in 2 months they will release a V version for the 477 so i'll wait š
NGL a V version would be a chonky boy. Considering the RG406V was already borderline big.
beeg gameboy
406V has huge bezels though, they'd probably slim it down for 476V
The problem with questioning what this can play is the same as people questioning what the steam deck and Odin 2 can play.
Basically, mbti-types who only digest information at a socioemotional level and will ignore media in general
What do you mean? The bezels on the 406V is quite slim IMO. Just a huge shame that the 476H has no bezels. Hope Anbernic upped their manufacturing game to perfectly align screens to the cutout. Even Retroid struggles to align the screens properly. Had to request replacement screens on my RP Mini twice since the screens weren't aligned.
By bezels I mean device width minus screen width.
my review unit was aligned perfectly and I flagged this to anbernic as something they need to get right
I have a misaligned RP5
Nice. Yeah I don't know why manufacturers thought removing bezels was a great idea to begin with. Seems like more of a hassle and QC nightmare, especially if the device doesn't have a black front.
forthenext anytime an issue is mentioned with the rg476h.
doing god's work
Posted new Ali coupon codes #1374058516284706928 message
Do we have ETA on this release date?
The 406V is a chungus , the videos mask how big it is lol
When the Odin 3 comes out the Odin 2 will be a perfect machine up until the Snes because it's all it's good for and can play ( sarcasm )
thanks
Anbernic confirmed in an e-mail to Retrododo that it will be 150 ex shipping the first 3 days. After that 165 ex shipping.
But this is Anbernic. Max Zhou, the guys who one month ago said: ā no, there wonāt be a plastic horizontal version with this screen, I wonāt do itā. That same Max.
Just got mine in, unboxing in a few hours at 6pm pacific. It's the DMG Gray model
Retro Handhelds Podcast S5 E46: Rob, Stubbs, Ban and Andrew chat and/or rib each other over this week's news, including the Miyoo Mini Flip leak, GameHub/Game Native updates, as well as unbox the new Anbernic RG476H, Retroid DS RETAIL model, TerraMaster F4 SSD NAS, and more!

Check screen alignment pls. I don't trust devices without bezels anymore. Even the biggest phone manufacturers in the world don't make devices without bezels for obvious reason.
that'd be difficult to check with the DMG gray since it has black borders to mask it
True. Didn't realise that. Wonder why they did that for the grey but not the purple.
heh... never before seen noob speeds
@mint blade could you do an impressions comparison between this and the rg477m in terms of feel, ergos, etc? nothing super deep just how you feel about each
that purple looks great
I want to like the gray but idk if I can do it. Iāll probably end up with black like everything else š¤£
We need you to get out the precision measuring instruments, obtain every color, and get this bezel-gate issue sorted š
I can accomplish one of those objectives in the immediete future š
Ok now Iām happy the grey model, which I want, has the bezels. No chance of covered pixels
Iām now pro bezel. Was anti bezel but have flipped.
Yeah after getting my first bezel-less device.. Never again.
At least with bezels, imperfect screen alignment isn't obvious on non-black devices.
Ok ok I m now back to being anti-bezel.
Maybe that's why they went for a small screen bezel on the light color moder. Dark color models would make this less noticeable
On Anbernic.com, for EU citizens, are the "estimated taxes" indeed charged at the payment?
Just preparing an eventual purchaseā¦
It's a possibility. I'd still would have a bezel for the GC colourway as well if I was them. The DMG seems to be the way to go for those who don't want a black version.
yes
don't buy from Anbernic.com if you are from the EU
buy from literally anywhere else other than Anbernic.com
Duely noted, thanks!
Bezels all day everyday.
Anbernic: "Let's paint the bezels gray so it looks like it has no bezels"
Also Anbernic: "Let's draw black lines around the screen so it looks like it has bezels"
I don't understand this. How is there a bezel on the grey version but the purple one doesn't ?
I don't know man, Anbernic always finds a way to fuck something up for no reason
If you zoom in, thereās also a black border on the GC color, just slimmer and kind of unnoticeable, I guess.
Yeah I think it has it but much slimmer
This I could live with. The grey bezel though...
Least on the black the bezel is hidden but finger prints will be the issue
Why with the all glass front? Not a fan. Just me.
dominant complaints per t820 - "it changes every time" edition
556 - slick texture is gross
Cube - schrodinger's IPS GLOW
406v - the butt turns people on and that's weird
406h - not perfect enough
Slide - it makes your hands hurt to hold it
476h - schrodinger's bezel
nah, main and one real reason T820 weak for that price
What are some better alternatives at $165 or less?
Like more powerful devices under $165.
em, retroid pocket 4 pro, way more powerful
150$
the black one has a very very thin bezel as well
That was originally $200 right? And has a smaller equivalent screen for 4:3 at lower resolution and refresh rate?
I'm still torn between black and purple, but the more I think about it, the more I also start to think about the retro grey one. Maybe the bezel ain't that bad after all...
same screen size
120hz š u dont need them with that soc
Rp4p has a 4.7" 4:3 screen?
16x9
120hz usable when u have at least sn865
So there is more value in a chip that can play more, but not all, ps2 and gc games than the 476h - but no value in higher resolution, higher refresh rate, and a bigger equivalent display for most systems.
rp4p has an iPhone 7 screen - with response time from that era
it has some smearing
nah
noone confirm that
I confirm that
show valid proofs
Higher refresh rate specifically on the anbernic screen screen has been shown to reduce effective latency and allow better processing of BFI
1100 can play any ps2/gc game
with upscalers and graphic mods
https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLBx_Mviz1VRiO4LHJ1_uYvr55dXZ8_ThM 50+ hours of live testing
where exact display test?
or teardown and panel model show case or latency test vs something else Icd
Well luckily you can just buy the RP4P and not buy the 476H, since chip power is more important to you.
I think for a lot of people they see value in a bigger 4:3 experience and the ability to do a 4x/ 2x integer upscale on almost everything PS1 and below. BFI/crt beam shader and other tweaks that are easier to achieve on 120hz are icing on the cake.
I looked at this screen for 50+ hours š
Pointless trying to have a conversation with that one š
:/
dont need it, i wait something big
many will just add to 477m 30% for x5+- boost (x6 actually gpu)
imo
Any screen misalignment will still be fairly obvious. TBH a ābezelā that thin would make it even more noticeable IMO
Black will show fingerprints easily. Purple will show fingerprints and screen misalignment noticeably
the evidence is simple: there's no other screen with that size and resolution other than the ones used on the iPhone, unless Retroid custom manufactured it, which is impossible because that would have made the handheld much more expensive
custom not expensive
all depend what quality they want
The problem with the rp3/3+/4/4pro is they hurt your hands to play for long periods of time. Its the same issue as the trimui smart pro and ps vita.
Oh, by the way... that's easy to refute. You can buy an iPhone 7 display replica with the same resolution, so it's not just one panel, right?
Are you talking about heating?
If so, I didn't have any problems with that... although I don't think I played anything on consoles for more than 3 hours
Heat, thumb bruising from stiff face buttons, index and pinky finger cramps unless you buy a custom grip
Is this really a widespread problem? or individual case
The amount of people who need a grip for an rp device is pretty large
practically its own economy
I had no problems with either rp5 or rp4pro, maybe it just habit
I tried grips that improve ergonomics, and they became a little more comfortable, but I decided it wasn't worth it
So, you're trying to tell me that retro grey is the only option to go?
No, Black
I like how you used a gif with black bars
Gotta love black glass fronts. I love admiring my fingerprints and natural body oils everytime.
Didn't realise I had a third hand to wipe and play at the same time.
I kid. Buy what you want.
Well, I still have time to think. The device is not out, yet. Damn, I hate all those tough decisions in life!
I was thinking the GC one but now I'm thinking maybe I like the retro grey more
After seeing other people's phones and guitars, it is definitely more of an issue for some than others. No shade, some people are just naturally much more oily.
I don't have oily fingers so the glass fronts never brother me.
I donāt really know much about bfi or that crt beam shader, does either impact performance much or at all and will the 820 be fine with that for 16/32 bit stuff? Probably more the crt beam shader than bfi which I guess will just work
The ultimate would be 8300 in this plastic chassis. But knowing Anbernic they will probably swap the dpad to bottom or something like that.

Hated the RP4Pro screen. Something about the definition. Canāt explain.

It seems that they will offer only DHL shipping on Ali š
1.03 dollars š¤
Do they set the price as exhorbitant just to show that itās not on sale yet lol?
Click on a colour
Yeah it just defaults to that selection of ādisplay the linkā you can click through the actual listing
Oh I see
Big decision over the next couple days Grey or Black
$280 nzd, not terrible
I think Iām gonna go grey, black will be super smudgey I fear
Grey
Luckily I donāt have issues with black devices idk maybe I just donāt have oily hands naturally
they are being aggressive with the price, I am surprised
I don't think anyone has anything good to say about the RP4P screen.
I don't follow, before the advent of OLED it was considered one of the best panels in the market
well above average in color reproduction for an IPS panel
What? Are we talking about the same RP4P? That one with green tinting, horrible ghosting and vsync issues and a resolution that doesn't integer scale anything?
Oh it was bad, ignore the ā
That's weird. I have a free shipping option.
Glad we moved past the 4,7ā 750p phase
It looks like what I saw, but that was a defect unit... I didn't have any problems like that with the other one.
To Europe?
Australia for me.
I found this with lower shipping price from EU: I just found this on AliExpress:
https://a.aliexpress.com/_EzEj3h0
But more than 210⬠totalā¦
Ok here for 198⬠and free shipping: https://a.aliexpress.com/_EyHo77k
still everything but cheap for meā¦
150 wow
Ā£150 hm
150 in dollars š i forget how much shipping is
On aliexpress itās saying Ā£148
200$ is a bit much for this device given it's power
Even $166 is too much, imo. The 477m was $225? At launch. Way more powerful chip and aluminum body is only $50-$60 more? Cāmon
still pretty good. market pricing
the phone version(ZTE Nubia Neo 2) of this device is still 180-196usd?
Back to the air mini š
if you're paying beneath that -at all- you're getting a discount. same happened with the rg556 and cube
market price for dimensity 8300 phones is still 231-498usd
Iām actually glad that there is more competition for Anbernic. I always thought their products were good, but not necessarily a good value. Maybe another player in this space will change that
the 477m is even a more ridiculous price but there is no competition in that aspect ratio and form factor
Yet
look at it this way. are you going to do that much worth of gaming on it? if so, the cost is justified
people buy these things to play on them? preposterous!
to be honest, i'm looking for a medium size 4:3 to do all my DC and down gaming on it. and this and pocket air mini are good candidates
lol, nobody here plays games
Who has time for that
if pocket air SoC is decent at (112 + 20) * VAT then maybe i will get my first aya device
i heard a lot of complaints about the time people spend setting up the android device, but i don't see the problem with obtainium and building a list of apps to install, most of them can be set up as they are being used, no need to do all of it upfront
have a decent rom library curated and scrapped
175 eur for me
my reasoning is like... a movie ticket to see i dunno, 28 Years Later, is 8 dollars. it's 2 hours. so like... 4 dollars an hour. If can't at least get 37.5 hours out of a 150usd handheld, it fucking sucks.
it takes a bit to set up compared to linux systems that come with roms(ugh) and maybe god forbid cracked android apps and games
exactly, pick and choose which emulator, have that page opened in the device and you're good to go
the only problem is copying a huge library on an sdcard
i just keep a folder of apks, tbh
but also... keep the Buildbot bookmarked
some emulators update often
index - powered by h5ai v0.29.0 (https://larsjung.de/h5ai/)
for RA?
yeah, buildbot version of RA is always a few hours behind development
come on, who needs bleeding edge RA
BOUNTY POSTERS.
aka people who attach money to a feature they want(like nonyellow video in Beetle PSX) and whatever dev fixes it gets paid, then the nightly version gets that feature
we as a retro-gaming community slice probably don't see too much from the more feral arcade/tv-box crowd, but there's a whole ecosystem based around getting the cores as feature-complete as possible
Itās an old lcd, weird res that doesnāt integer scale anything, 60hz, and way smaller than this for 4:3 content
i just couldn't get past the broken 3d drivers to want d1100 power. the renderer doesn't understand z-buffer depth for a lot of games, so sprites get pushed behind objects, and lighting breaks
yeah, rp4pro enjoyers are going to roll their eyes and say "it's emulation, DUH. it's not supposed to be perfect." which is all fair.
the screen is kinda washed-out too.
small amount of games has this type of glitch, so its not problem at all
it's specifically stuff with lots of effects going on like Twisted Metal Black, Q3A, and whatnot
and seems like its not driver issues at all
this glitch will be in any game if
emu compatibility problem
not too sure about that, but it's a subjective issue. if all you do is emulate on mali, it looks normal, but if you've seen it on nvidia, adreno, intel, "good" mali, amd, and start comparing footage to original ps2, you'll very quickly go "HEY, something's wrong here."
i need samples
this is more of an emulation accuracy vs. "i just wanna play the game" sort of thing though.
I don't get comparing this to the RP4P. One is 4:3 and the other is 16:9
just... go look around m'dude
oh, u mean games with mali issue
i though at all
you're missing the point. the t820 has better mali drivers. this issue doesn't exist.
ik, but i dont think it was big problem
just dont play 3 ps2 games which has graphical issues on 1100
i think it will be good on new ps2 emulator
even if u right, and it just more outdate gpu drivers on 1100
heh
Well yeah, thatās the issue if the emulator isnāt well supported enough for Mali, or at least the drivers that specific chipās Mali GPU is using.
yeah... that's what makes it hard to discuss in a place where a good pie-slice of users haven't used original hardware or bruteforced accurate emulation to see how games should look and play.
this is a society. it's okay
show real samples, u talk now about full emulation not 3 games :/
.
.
so its cant be less or more accurate
they just the same
He just showed his examples and meanwhile youāve shown none being emulated perfectly.
he show broken game in D1100
that nothing
but talking about every game
and emulation accuracy at all
Me when I don't know what I'm talking about
And the PS2 library consists of 1000+ games, thereās absolutely still some games that doesnāt work well even on PCSX2.
true
i am not going to spend my afternoon showing missing gunsprites, footstep dust, road artifacts in burnout 3, and broken grenade explosions in socom.
this is not how i enjoy my time lol
so u want to say, this not happenes on x86?
or adreno
ā¦I didnāt even see this until now, but holy crap thatās not how any of this works at all.
really?
I think you should learn english first cause I don't think you understand what he's saying
ps2 emulation still not ideal, and never be seems like
There's differences on emulation even between amd and nvidia on pc, things will not be the same between two different mobile devices
RIght. i'm arguing with a solipsist. nothing exists until you bring it in front of them.
well... i have laundry to do.
:/ without proofs its just words
Wait 3 months and you might be able to pick this up for 120 on AliExpress.
Ps2/gamecube and up is so much better on PC than mobile
performance yes
Which is why the t820 is a great sweet spot for efficient 5th gen and down enjoyers
If they let you use coupons you can probably get one close to that on launch
that reminds me. i need to see how xenoblade chronicles x runs on t820
chronicles 1 runs fine on both wii and 3ds
have they blocked Ali coupons before in the past?
For the most part no, I think it was even possible to get an rg slide for $160 ish during launch week. I do remember them blocking some coupons on the rg557 before though. That might've been a one off
So what $ is it showing on Ali? Iām seeing Ā£148 in uk
$165 USD
$165 as the EB
well, if coupons are still in effect when this goes live on Friday I'm down, because it would be 150⬠shipped and taxed which is cheaper than the starting prices of all other rg006 devices, rgCUBE aside
With shipping this is almost $200 for me that's a deal breaker and I'm out unfortunately
Unless the the Ali proces after coupons and shipping comes close to $150
it's looking like I might get free shipping and some sort of discount from this being my first Ali order so hoping I manage to get it for < $150usd
It looks like the Ali listing will be 150 initially and there are Ali sales which run through 9/22
So seems like could get this down to $135, which seems pretty reasonable
I believe the first 3 days will bring it down to $150
I paid 184 inc shipping (ex taxes) for my rg477m, paid 12 euro taxes, total 196 euros. Retail price rg477m was $239 ? Retail price rg476h is $165. Yet i will most likely have to pay around 173 ahipped?
this one's not for you lol
that being said you were lucky for buying early the 8gb model since it's discontinued now
True, i never expected that they would stop producing them so fast , they only made like 2,000 of them (80% 8gb, 20% 12gb) and the 8gb sold out within a few days. The $300+ 12gb is still for sale
Paying less than 200 for a 8gb version basically is a steal
I seen some pics of this doing psp and gba and it's like the same size as the ACE
Letter boxing is hard to see with black
Do the sticks pop off easily

You can't force it shut?
At least there's internal storage
ok this looks really nice
I wasn't too sold on black at first but it looks great here
@floral gull first impressions right off the bat?
Yeah same as Retroid devices
It only latches shut on the non hinged side. So the hinge side can be pressed flush but just pops back out
I mean the sticks donāt just fall off. I just mean you can take them off if you want.
Feels nice. Screen is great (already knew this from 477m). I think if the price and performance make sense itās a solid option for a nice big 4:3 screen.
$150 plus shipping at launch
Performance presumably caps out at some 1x-2x gc/ps2 like the 406v/h
how do you like it vs the rg477m, performance aside?
Uhh I mean it's very similar. Bit more rounded back edges bit sharper front edges. A bit lighter. The bumps for the triggers on the back give you something to rest against your fingers.
If I didn't need the performance I would probably pick this over the 477m
Hot
Ah, that good old fashioned Anbernic quality control (this is assuming itās not supposed to do that, since that being intended would be frankly baffling even for them).
Working as intended
russ showed it too so, I'm pretty sure it's a design flaw
ā¦It would be really stupid but honestly not unexpected if they just didnāt bother to test if sd cards actually fit in this thing.
it would certainly be one of the design choices of all time
How much on board storage does this have?
load up some ut2004 instant action
Oh man this has put me right off this device... That would drive me insane...
Which feels better in the pocket?
One has bits sticking out, the other not so much
Rip thatās a huge design flaw (sd slot)
It can probably be shaved down. Not good, but probably not a huge flaw
weird, mine is okay with an SD card in
Anbernic just told me they already got this feedback and steps have been taken to ensure itās not in the final product
Whenās your vid coming @brittle pelican
they better do, I would send it back immediately if the slot ain't closing
I donāt think I can livestream for this one š¢
I think Iāll be back for Konkr Pocket Fit G3x Gen 3
Is the 476h worth the upgrade from 505?
Just when I thought I was out...
I bought it on the indiegogo and asked for DPD shipping so I think end Oct?
Mannn Iām really like this thing.. seems like the perfect jump for me to get into horizontals. Currently only have a 34xx that can be considered one. Really was hoping for good things on Ayn Thor but no problem picking this up in the mean time
Most of the time, when people state that the T820 is not great for GC and PS2, I realize that they upscale in first intention. I personally don't upscale anything and if so, how does the GC library ? And PS2 ?
Most GCN games and about 2/3 of the PS2 library can run if you tinker a bit
Send it to me with dhl express and i will livestream tomorrow for 10 hours
Europe price is around 170-173 (depending on vat) shipped
But because it is more than 150, maybe they will deduct the vat
So you can get it cheaper just like 477m
With 20 euro discount it is 153. That is still higher than 150
Ex vat it its 135 shipped
can they take steps to ensure the black bezel is not in the final retro DMG model?
Y'all already have the black and GC. Let us bezel lovers have at least one option
100% will not buy if no bezels.
I got the RG477M for £165 as the VAT got deducted. I wonder how much this will be in £ with VAT deducted
fair, the problem is black and gc suck
(source: https://youtu.be/w-dtWXGGJf0)
black's kinda growing on me
I'm cursed with oily hands so black handhelds are a no-go for me, especially glass fronts.
rg???ds
bag carry vertical fans would be eating good
unfortunately it would overtake what most people would consider pocketable
i'd like an rg47xx with the overall cubexx feel
Rg ds and rg 477v
i guess we'll see the 406v/p screen in the xx line before the 4.7"
Never really cared about pocketing tbh, as I always play at home
most people play on a tv when at home no?
Idk about that, but Iād play it when Iām lazing on my bed

Iād hope it would be 477v as I sold my 406v today
i don't really pocket handhelds but i love the feeling of games playing on something real tiny
It feels nostalgic
I had a switch years back and I never played it
476V with all glass front š
Pissing off the biggest amount of people at the same time
What are your top ten games to play on t820?
I wonder if that is even possible
why won't it be possible
No issues except being awful š
I don't know why, but I like the overall design of this thing better than the Pocket Air Mini's...
I get a free air mini since I overpaid for the s2. I am still buying one of these. I dig the look. Worst case I will give it to my nephew.
I would rather get the 477m then
But regardless canāt wait to see the new 477v anyways
I'm just making it all up, obviously that's not happening
the glass will be fine till you drop it, or it gets crushed in your backpack
the air mini is too bulky for what it is
should have kept a more compact profile
that could be it, yeah... š¤
the bezel is also somewhat off-putting to me... although I never had strong emotions towards a handheld having them
If the grips make it any thicker than 26mms It's a pass for me
Its 27.6mm
I know, Iām just saying if
Oddly specific
Well even if they would make it glass panel, the roundness would be gone of the 477v
Hope this is below £150 with the case shipped
@mint blade does you SD card cover shut with a SD card in on your unit?
Ah let me confirm, stream this eve btw
Looks to be a issue for some. Well most. I think ForTheNext didn't have it. But Derek and Russ did.
Mine shuts and is flush
Hopefully this isn't a issue on retail then
what color unit?
I'm assuming mine was shipped at the same time as Stubbs' so it's just interesting that its different. Maybe different brands of microsd cards are slightly longer?
that could well be the case that different microsd brands have very small variances in dimensions
Hmm I just tested three different cards and they all don't sit flush. Must be variation with the units themselves

Let's check out Anbernic's latest handheld - This one has a pretty awesome screen and isn't crazy expensive - is it worth your money?

"good for up to dreamcast"
newbs will be echochambering that for weeks
Bold of you to presume that many people watch my videos
it probably the worst configurated nethersx2 what i ever see
I mean this obviously can pull the majority of GCN
if you only want to go for "up to dreamcast" the Pocket Air Mini may be better
It's certainly priced better for a similar power
I wouldn't call it similar and the RAM/ROM configs clearly are in favor of 5th gen and under
True, less RAM, the cpu/gpu power are in the same ballpark though
Thank you for an honest review, appreciate the video
37% more CPU on the t820
single-core obviously
I think the RG476 vs Mini Air comparisons are a bit null now. Very different price range
I mean, honestly... retail for the Air Mini is like $120... Anbernic on sale will get there
TBH, I'm a bit jaded on any comparisons on specs alone. We have so many options now. I pick handheld based on what feels good to me and factors that are important to me like screen and ergonomics. These things may vary from person to person.
also, 2-3gb of ram means no wii-u, switch, but some lower end vita, some 3ds.
Even if I could tweak nethersx2 better for performance, at the end of the day I don't want to spend tons of time tweaking. So I stand by my opinion that it's not a device one should buy expecting to have a good ps2 experience.
ttwo different devices
Anbernic is at $185ish retail with shipping though, it's a gap
fair enough, but the Air Mini clearly isn't aiming at 6th Gen systems or even Android gaming, while the 476 can do a fair bit of that, so the specs make a difference there
Android gaming should actually be decent on the Air Mini, GPU Isn't that far off
Also I don't think I explicitly said it's only good up to dreamcast. Just that dreamcast and below will run smoothly without issue. It's certainly capable of a good chunk of gamecube.
heck. the air mini doesn't have enough ram for winlator despite power
ut2004 may crash on load
with 2/32 and 3/64 SKUs, I wouldn't expect anything to run
3gb of RAM is... Usable
I'm not touching winlator with a 10ft pole on lower end chips. Just because you can get something to run doesn't mean it's a great experience haha. But maybe I'm just spoiled by moer powerful options we have now.
Aya should honestly have done 3/64 and 4/128 like Retroid did for the RP2S
but it's a ~$100 device, how many devices in that price range will give you "wii-u, switch" etc.
This has been my issue with the community for a while. Specs are fun enough to talk about, but ergo and controls will always be my priority
All the way back in the RP2+ days
I dislike that handheld quite a bit
the 476h delivers a really good dpad gaming experience, IMO, and the screen is excellent for what it is. Whether that's worth $175 is certainly debatable, but yeah
I think we have lil to worry about controls with either AYA nor Anbernic and ergo is a personal thing, I will probably vastly prefer that flat slab of a 476 over the bumps on the Air Mini
Honest take of the day
I'll go for ergo bumps all the time
IMO they are more in the way with smaller devices, like on the RP5 they just irritate me
I mentioned this in the Pocket Air thread, but with a ton of actual full PS2/GC options, recommending compromised experiences doesn't make much sense
I adore them on the Cube, they just melt into my hands
Iāve been pruning my romlist and it turns out most of what I want to play is PSX so with this screen this device is going to be perfect
Yeah, I mean if you are on a super budget, I get that you may want to have something that can dabble in gen6. But if you really want a good experience there most of these sub-$200 handhelds are not it.
I effing hate the Cube. The RGB30 was a brick but for some reason it just felt better.
Also despite having no bumps, the 476 is more comfy than I anticipated.
Have we seen any good videos that show a comparison on the colour? Trying to decide between indigo and grey
Don't think anyone has more than one colorway in hand so, you'd have to pull up a few videos I guess
Cube has really fat ergos for such a small device, so arguably they ain't bad... at least if you keep your hands on the main controls... which makes the og CUBE quite unusable for d-pad stuff IMO, CUBExx on the other hand is indeed comfortable for that
True, I need to find a good grey vid to look at
I like the dpad usage on it, maybe my hands are just unique
I think @mint blade will be covering that model on stream tonight
But it is one of the main reasons I'm considering swapping to the Air Mini, dpad top is still better for these handhelds
There used to be a great recommendation flowchart on what to buy for your needs, if needs to be remade
Still will have the Steam Deck though
Still nothing has dethroned the Deck at that price point really. I mean obviously if you want a different form factor/OS. But nothing x86 wise reallly changes much in the past couple years. I don't even own a deck but it's still true haha.
Yeah at 6pm pacific about.
We'll be covering Winlator stuff as well. Having fun with GameHub on here especially.
Gamehub has finally made it easy (ish)
Was pretty stunned how easily I linked up steam and installed hades ii on my tablet. The actual gameplay experience wasn't perfect, but set up was the easiest it's ever been.
My steam account is like the one account I don't want to risk losing to anything
So I'm cautious
Yeah that's fair. You can use the QR code sign in, at least. So you aren't giving them your login credentials. But I'm sure there's still some possibility of risk.
I think it's probably just as bad tbh
I thought for sure Valve was planning on doing something like this this themselves
Maybe one day
They may still be. Like anything with valve I think a lot of their ideas are in secret testing for a looooooong time.
And may not all see light of day.
That standalone VR headset has been rumored for a year+ at this point
Take this with a grain of salt
Anyway. 476h, it's a neat toy, I like toys, I like different toys. Toys are fun.
These are all toys! We're adults playing with toys, and that's okay
So does anyone know if they grey will have a bezel or not? All the promo/renders seem to be a mix, images with or without bezel
Footage from their youtube channel
But, the indigo in Russ' video doesn't look like that so..
idk
Did anyone try the Retroid dual screen on this?
Sometimes the bezel on the grey looks bigger or smaller but I think itās just the scaling of the game as well? Itās very odd
(might need external power)
Yeah I did on Monday's episode, but the video out wasn't playing nice. Going to mess with it some more though.
nice
3ms decode? thats crazy on a T820??
Yeah, idk this is in balanced frame pacing, 20Mb stream, native resolution 120fps.
I was kinda surprised
the last time i tried streaming on a RG556, it was horrible. and the Ayaneo Pocket air was also horrible. how is this possible lol
moonlight update maybe?
Maybe an updated decoder in this build of android/firmware?
Apollo/Artemis are game changers
no it's artemis
c2.unisoc.hevc.decoder i wonder if this is new
But no special settings used
It's definitely some decoder magic. AV1 is 40ms and H264/AVC is 14ms. HEVC/h265 seems to be the special sauce
man wow. so those older devices might work now
Great review. I do agree that it's a bit too much when you consider exactly what it's great at
nice find!
wonder what decode is on the Mangmi X lol
Side note, I realized i was in high performance. It does drop to 5-5.5ms on auto mode. Still not terrible.
rg slide had similar performance
looking back at my review
This is how bad my memory is. That this is basically an rg slide without the slider. I've totally forgotten about that handheld
me too after I played with it for a few minutes and realised I hated the ergonomics š
The day the slide was announced I asked what was the point. I'm still asking
Forgot to show case in my video. One of their better cases. Has fleeced inside.
I imagine the Slide is their vertical, and the 376 is the horizontal equivalent.
Hm, then it's an awful vertical
. Wouldn't be totally suprised to see a 476v at some point... idk
Yeah I think this move to flips/slides is the next step in vertical consoles so they're more compact.. Not sure how I feel about it though.
yeah it's just the grey model that has them for some reason
apparently Anbernic decided it's necessary on light colors
the white slide also had them but was less offensive there imo

On another note, I'm mighty surprised how the 476 is not that much bigger than the Air Mini.
Extra 0.5" screen for just 1cm longer and 0.3cm taller.
that less about the rg476h being compact and more about the air mini being unnecessarily bulky imo
they could have made it smaller but went with full blown ergos instead
if you order the gray DMG it will, otherwise it will not
Man do I get this and replace my RPMini?
I mean if you like the screen and ergonomics and don't care if it's less powerful than yes?
Thatās what Iām thinking, I like the bigger screen. It will be my middle man device. Between my brick and Odin 2 Portal
I really like the mini, but that screen is just tad too small, especially for gba
For sure lol
Having a good 4:3 screen gotta be everyoneās lineup for retro device enthusiasts
Yeah
I don't have a powerful 4:3
So that's why I'm tempted
But I just bought an O3 and Pocket Fit... So I already spent money lol
Dang
They are bringing the heat in this niche rn
But Iām thinking I pick this up tomorrow
Also black frame insertion is just gonna be better for this type of device
Yeah 120hz screen is nice
The only thing that would make me regret buying this if retroid came out with their revised retroid pocket mini
But I donāt think that will happen for awhile
I could see it before Christmas
they don't have anything new lined up yet
I think it will release with the RP6 tbh
But who knows, cuz that screen is being custom made
Well they said a year out and that was like 4-5 months ago?
Maybe less?
And that's just for the screen
But maybe I'm mis-remembering
Going live in 20
Hooray for gray
Lol, the air mini is $70
The rg 476h is $150
There goes the anbernic sales
Ayneo will sell 10,000 units in a month
Different target demographic IMO. The Pocket Air will go after RP Classic sales
Many people want a bigger screen than the 4,0 inch 4:3. a $70 4,2 inch is a nice step. Plays all 2d retrogames
12nm SoC
battery life on the pocket air mini is probably gonna be its achilles heel
wont be
it will reach max consumption only in x86 and switch
also u can limit it manually
12nm not 12w tdp
in this case it mean only higher heat
there are exceptions of course but generally larger node = worse performance per watt
what
12nm vs 6nm, nothing else
every watt of heat generated is a watt of energy used and vice versa
there is no way to have more heat without burning through your battery faster
o_O
that's conservation of energy
it consume the same wattage as g99 on regular load
!
that is simply not true
the g99 is a 6nm SoC
far more advanced process node
:/ nvm
This looks like perfect 4:3 device finally, what Iād hoped the 405m would be and with an even better screen. Dpad top, analog triggers and plastic
Bout to give this a watch. Saw you make a comment ab not many people watching your videos and fell into a rabbit hole. You do a great job. Will def be on the lookout for your reviews
Already into it and just came from the GKD review. If that thing runs ps1 just about perfect, justifying this 476h when you mention it struggling to do ps2/GC is hard and a big turn off
It was kinda tongue in cheek but thank you
You got a good voice and a good knowledge base. Nothing too in your face I know everything like some others can be š
I will keep you in mind, my business partner and I have been discussing entering the handheld world. Could use input from guys like you to get going, youād be paid of course
re games are fine. ps2 nfs mw is fine, but for underground 2(possibly even carbon and hot pursuit 2) you're going to want the windows versions
those run much better

It might be worth trying this code on Ali, but unlikely it will work for this listing: AEUS26
Man, such a nice impressions video! Thank you for that!
Now I definitely know, which color to get. Black!
Early 476s are off the table because 20⬠coupons are out
Got my puple dev unit
I like the feel of this over the 477
currently dumping the firmware
Yes Iāve seen it⦠Another argument for me to wait. Iāve purchased some music gear instead š
Does it go on sale in 30 minutes ?
According to anbernic, yes
Really hope we get a mix of the 477 and 476 at some point. Chip from 477 in 467 body is the dream
Hmm blue or retro
Black
Nahhh
Which code dinu use?
that's basically what I'd be paying incl. shipping
Yes, the $16 discount works, 20 euro does not
Not seeing the 15 off EB price
Aliexpress saver worth doing? Can you cancel after?
if I got it direct through Anbernic it's like $30 nzd cheaper, I think because AliExpress charge tax based on NZ law

wondering if I should chance it, it could always get stopped at customs
Check out Anbernics official store on eBay, It auto applied a coupon for $30. Got it for 175 with a bag and free shipping
In their eBay itās cheaper to buy it with an sd card š
Last time i used ebay anbernic store they shipped via dhl. Be careful
So i got import charges
Ahh yeah Iāll leave it
So is the $15 off EB only through their website and not Ali store?
ended up going direct through Anbernic, shipping via 4px
hopefully it doesn't take forever
No, it's probably going up 15 euro after 3 days. How much it costs for you right now? Is it after tax? Is delivery listed as free?
Ali shows $165 free shipping their website shows $150 but shipping is $25
Iām in the US btw so Iām guessing itās not really āfree shippingā
That too
Honestly no clue how aliexpress and sellers handle US tariffs
In am in Europe, my country 21% VAT , i paid 157 shipped Ali Anbernic Direct
173 ali price, 2 euro coins discount automatic and $16 ali coupon
Price is inc shipping in vat
I'm in NZ, it was going to be $305 ($180 usd-ish) through Ali incl. sales tax and shipping. Direct through Anbernic no sales tax, but shipping, cost $290 ($165ish)
I wanted to get something for between 250 and 300 so I'm happy, it fits my budget
Well with coupons Ali was still cheaper for me and I got a bag
Oh you know what the baked in shipping helped me because I got to use a $20 coupon because of it. Now I see it without baked in shipping and the coupons only $16
I got it for 150+15 shipping, not bad
Hell yes, so keen to see what you have coming for this
Your video helped a lot in my purchase decision š
Where did you find this code?
I got AEUS32 to work and got the 476H for $142.xx shipped
Folded due to the $23 coupon "IFPLFQ69", putting it down to 160⬠with BAG, fully vatted and shipped
Not a great deal for a t820, considering I paid 195⬠for the 477m, but that was like 35⬠less than it actually would cost due to some tax evasion
I got it for about the same. Your state has lower sales tax though.
I think I paid $148 with the bag
Where this coupon comes from?
RH DEALS
This Reddit spreadsheet has a bunch of coupon codes you can try
Just search for coupons here, they always post some
How do you know if vatted?
Still not sure on which colour
Because Anbernic will show a price adjustment when the order isn't vatted
nfs decent (imo not playable), re1 playable
Think Iāll go black, will be playing some psp gba on this
I went out of my all black everything comfort zone and went with grey
@mint blade would be interested to know if you guys hear anything from the Rep on the video output. Awesome live stream!
It should run the pc versions of nfs:u/u2 pretty decent
The grey looks nice, almost aya retro power, almost š
Thanks! I'll let you know. Hopefully OTA since they showed it with a dual screen in the ads.
Oh hell yeah!
Ah perfect! We are about to get some custom RH coupons issued as well.
We'll post when ready
Black one ordered £138 with bag
No.
indigo
All these work. AEUS32 is a one time use and Veddy got to use it.
bezel not a problem?
The AE coupons have a use limit but its a lot higher than 1 š
It's a thin black bezel and I don't think much about it. The Black might look best if bezel is main concern visually.
When I tried it said it was one time use.
That just means you've used it before with your account.
This code has been active for a long time, months I believe.
Eh I had to confirm that myself to make sure I wasn't crazy (I am, but not in this way)
But they do run out, and then the AE's us team restocks. I'm not sure on the international ones.
IFPK7WQA worked for me.
AEUS26 is another one to try. Let me see where our RH US codes are, maybe we can activate them today.
HE'S DONE IT AGAIN
I did ask Anbernic if they will be issuing an update for the video out
Best 10 dollars I spend ever month is to Gamma.
And to confirm, the bootloader unlock exploit still does work.
Added unbricker here: https://github.com/TheGammaSqueeze/Bootloader_Unlock_Anbernic_T820
Does this mean NEXT is coming to 476h
yes
let me see if I can get it loaded up today and demonstrate some features
stock firmware is actively blocking root now by the way (it doesn't come rooted anymore)
gamma@gamma-sff:/work/GammaOSNextDistribution-A14$ adb install gammaos/magisk/magisk.apk
Performing Streamed Install
adb: failed to install gammaos/magisk/magisk.apk: Failure [INSTALL_FAILED_INVALID_APK: app is in the blacklist packageName]
anyway see ya'll in a while
I gotta ask @dapper lake @mint blade if you guys hold back to back the 476H and the RPMini, which do you think is more comfortable and is it that big of a gap?
I think I want this over the mini to fill that mid level retro device use case. The screen + front facing buttons are the big pushers for me, but I absolutely adore the Minis ergonomics
For me, comfort wise I prefer the 476H for its larger screen and quiet face buttons, but screen quality (OLED) and performance / compatibility goes to the RP Mini
Yeah that sells me lol. I like the Oled but the screen size is a bit small for me. I only need up to a little bit of GameCube, so this is perfect if the economics are comparable. Odin 2 Portal for everything else above. Thank you!
And honestly, the device being OLED scares me away from using overlays on games that arenāt exactly 4:3. The screen for size, freedom of overlay use (IPS) and 120hz for black frame insertion is really something for that price.
For sure! They did good with this one.
under $150 shipped is a very good price for this one
one of us, one of us
Yeah in my review I said $30 less would have made it a much better price point, IMO
I ordered the purple thing
How dare you, also nice color choice!
Did someone say quiet buttons. Thats rad
Yes, they are very nice
I'm also becoming the weirdo that might prefer higher refresh rate over screen type because of local streaming
I'm an OLED stan most of the time. But more so for pc handhelds, tablets, etc. I think for smaller retro handhelds I can give a pass to a good lcd. Most retro games aren't gonna look that much worse (unless it's a super dark game).
Artemis/Apollo at 120hz is fantastic
But when we start seeing more of the 120hz OLED screens, GAME OVER BBY
Odin 3 waiting intensifies
Yeah i'm with you on that one, smaller screens work well for this.
I have no qualms with a good LCD, OLED is nice, but Anbernics 4.7" panel is pretty neat
100%
now we just need more 1440p panels like on the Pocket S2

Local streaming is game changing. Itās literally the reason Iām selling my steam deck in here lol
which is also a pretty neat LCD panel, albeit 120hz would have arguably been nice
But on smaller panels i'm good with 1080p, KONKR Fit looks very nice
I mean 6.3" is already on the bigger side of things for "handhelds" IMO
Its 144hz unless that's just the 8 Elite variant
both
The screen on this doesn't look too bad even with borders
You can also slap an overlay on it too, and not have to worry about burn in on an LCD
yeah, I'm glad my Pocket ACE ain't OLED, because GBA needs a grid
Yes!! I kept investing in faster and better windows handhelds, and now i've switched gears to beefing up my main PC and everything is a client device
