@zenith breach you need to change your name to Benchmark
Maybe you should consolidate all the testing links into a database? You seem to spend a lot of time looking for them, so might as well keep a spreadsheet or something with all of it.
I'm sure the community would love it.
working atm
@faint chasm later will add known gpu score (G3x Gen1 with 8300 swaped already)
i have a g510 handheld, didnt realize it was higher than the T820
Yeah it is, perfect gc emulation
strong gpu MC2
if have time, will be great if u run G6, bc info super outdate on that chipset
and model-name on that device unknown (Abxylute One Pro)
green too bright bruh
There’s such a huge jump from gen 3 to Elite but I wonder if that has anything to do with Elite using more power
um not realy, 5% boost cpu get only, and 8% on gpu
on full unlocked tdp device
45W
That’s a lot higher than what anyone would use lol
yup
Rev 2.0 😄 (fixed G3x) did i miss something worth?
@thorny rain if u have free time, i need link to G6 test ur G510 🙂 (bc info super outdate, and device tree unknown)
Oh snap
that's a good setup @zenith breach, more of this please not just endless benchmarks 😄 its a good resource to have
I channeled his power for good!
🥂 Iqoo 15 next year this power come to handhelds ... (btw it will be more) also tablet on that soc should reach 4000
VS now (best tablet) - yes, astra is not better, y700 gen4 too ...
Single 18% / Multi 22% Vulcan 9% / OpenGL 20% (if compare not OnePlus pad 3, % will be noticeably higher)
https://youtu.be/F2TuLa2yRx8 and old aaa games demanding like this one allot

There are fixed costs and variable costs.
Especially for magicx. I'm like... Ehhhhh
I know. My point is not so much about the exact math and economics but about his way of talking.
Has anyone a guess, which SD-card type is good? I heard somewhere, that 512gb would be max but should I get a U2 or is is a U3 also possible? It's gonna be my first device, so I'm not experienced with that stuff.
These devices typically only have 100 MB/s read speeds, so you don’t benefit by getting the absolute fastest card
Okay thanks
What about A2 Random Read & Write speed doesn’t that make some difference?
Not on the handheld itself but you can transfer files faster on your pc
I believe Keiretrogaming couldn’t get more than 70mb/s write speeds on the Odin 2, despite the sd card being able to to more than double that
A2 cards
for android apps yes
for emulation yet to see any proof theres a benefit
I still want to see MicroSD Express in high end handhelds, it's a shame the Odin 3 is only normal Micro SD
for the low low price of $2000 you can skip straight past SD Express to miniSSD
with the GPD win 5
if they dont cook themselves to death they're cool as fuck
2x pcie gen4 nvme speeds
~3.7GB a second read
A lil slow ain't it
The sharks help the Data swim faster from Card to Device. Go shark go
treefiddy MB more like
I… don’t understand jack shit tbh but looks good I guess? Website is so bad, Safari won’t even let me watch in full screen.
use normal browser

🎮 Pocket AIR Mini Hands-On: $70 Handheld Running PS2 Games!
In this video, we test the Pocket AIR Mini running God of War 2 on a PS2 emulator. With 2GB RAM, 2X resolution, and stable 30FPS, this budget handheld delivers an amazing retro gaming experience.
Whether you’re into handheld emulators, budget gaming consoles, or retro PlayStation ...
I'm starting to like this thing, but I wish the screen would allow BFI and the CRT effect...
I feel like that’s a solid performance on ps2 for like 70-80 bucks, but.. again I’m new to it, I think I like it.
Needs the rg476h in the left corner
Yes, that is what people want. Buy a $70 handheld for $200
Nice , but I think I’ll wait for the MagicThree49
7500 units sold
Oopsie
Will Uncle Tail be there
Should be
That’s cool, I bet the pocket ds is gonna turn some heads
Or it might catch Nintendo’s attention and end up getting sued
Imagine they ask for receipts on where they got their ROMs from
Damn, hopefully there are enough for the rest of us (jk)
showing of emulation handhelds in the heart of Japan is brave
There’ll definitely be enough 476H
Do they load emulators/roms on the devices at the show?
👀
I think only Android games like Genshin Impact
Smart Smart
they've been really careful last few years
all their promo material show only android stuff
the only retro game they've showed in promotional pics etc has been physical game boxes
Like they'll have some android game on screen with wii game boxes in the shot
and it looks like they've stopped even doing that on their recent one
Just like the old GP32 days.
Sir, this device has official games on it, I am sure people buying it to play emulated games are in the minority
It's just a coincidence that this device has just the right amount of power to play NES/GB/MS, and also has a d-pad and two buttons like the NES/GB/MS.
I'm sure really everyone is buy it for blue Angelo
Ahhh evo is still getting some love at least
I still don't get the hype over this handheld? 🤔
Hi-res big 4:3 screen and allegedly great performance at a really good price
hype can lower only when dream 50 out (many waiting 16x9 device, more powerful than Mangmi)
G85 16x9
and dream ''2'' can finish Air Mini at all <100$ D7300
lol. lmao, even
Nah. There's way too many larger screen 16:9 devices out there already. Barely any larger screen 4:3 devices, especially for Android.
just 2 normal
other out of price range
Odroid go Ultra
rgb10max3pro
I personally don't care for 16:9 devices anymore. I want more 4:3 options. Even better if OLED.
A larger screen 4:3 Android device with a great resolution for a budget price. What's not to love
basically its just the RPC, RPmini, and dmg?
None of those are 4:3
closest thing for oled based
Any other aspect ratio that isn 16:9 is good for me. 3:2, 1:1, 4:3, all of it's good imho
Are US preorders up yet?
I would also like to know this
Not yet, they're coming October
Noted
Only the RP Mini at this point. RPC and DMG aren't 4:3
umm...
V1 is Pseudo-4:3
31:27 just really isn't comparable to 4:3 IMO, it is its own thing
First company to make a budget 4:3 4-4.5" OLED device that is 960x720 or 1280x960 will make bank.
Retroid Pocket Mortgage
Better idea: 1920x1440 or 1440x1080
Whoa buddy. One step at a time. Give it a few years. This industry moves slowly when it comes to screens
Start off with lower resolutions first so all these budget chips can power them without a hitch.
no such thing so you arent getting any of those anytime soon.
It’s the first AYANEO handheld under 100, and also cheaper than their power bank lol
I know. My wallet thanks me dearly
Jokes on you, im waiting for the MagicX Four50
Personally I like 16:9 for like more modern games, Id prefer 4:3 if I play more retro games, I think id appreciate a 4-4.5” screen for it
Im getting that Retro White
comeon ayaneo, let us international plebs order this
I wonder if it has video out support lol
And I wonder if the Retroid Pocket Dual Screen add on would work for this
because its pretty similar to a retroid pocket mini
So random question
I know Ayaneo uses unique stick caps on their handhelds.
Is there anything particularly notable about those caps or are they just superficially different from the ones used by Retroid and AYN?
If this thing can play GT4 on the PS2 we’re fucking golden.
we may get it from Retroid eventually
that's the hope anyway
Surface Duo if you count that
One and only true 4:3 OLED device
Well two, Duo 1 and Duo 2
Isn't the iPad pro 13 inch 4:3 as well?
you could literally just slap Retroid, Ayn or even Anbernic stuff on the sticks if you prefer those... Ayn just makes especially small ones
I'm actually asking about how they'd work on MagicX lol
you could just put them on, at least I don't think the Zero28 or Zero40 sticks are any incompatible 🤔
there are too many as-is and only a finite number of 4:3 games to play.
at this point, people are either:
(a) whittling down their to-play lists or
(b) complaining that there aren't enough handhelds to doomscroll through
There are barely any 4:3 handhelds that are 4” and above. And virtually zero with OLED. 4:3 is great for 3:2 as well providing the resolution is optimal.
You might be lucky but as I get older, my eyesight gets worse. I’d like to play (and replay) my 4:3 and 3:2 games without needing to deal with extra width for portability’s sake.
For under $100, for the longest time all we had was the anbernic 40xx v and h, and I guess the ARC.
And I have no interest in buying another anbernic device.
Yeah Right now under $100 Anbernic isn't competitive
I want the perfect "PS1 JRPG" device to sit on my nightstand. Retroid Pocket Classic is close. Ergo/comfort is just slightly off. I should've immediately sold it and bought the mini v2.
so what you're saying is the screens need to keep getting bigger because the core demographic is getting older and blinder
at some point, we're going to come full circle to laptop+controller like before any of these handhelds showed up.
That's already an option for everyone. Larger, portable 4:3 devices, not so much.
Unless there's easily accessible ways to reverse aging eyesight, sounds like the right path to me
if u bigger screen 5.5 inches, u choose mangmi air x over pocket air mini.
but is 5.5 inches 1080p and 16:9 aspect ratio.
16:9 already makes it not an option
And besides, 4:3 on a 16:9 5.5" is 4.5". Might as well get the RG476H.
Odin 2 Portal caps are too wide to function
for certain games like psp it is 16:9 and for 3ds and ds u have bigger screen estate to put 2 screen to play.
and GBA advantage as it is 3:2 aspect ratio so it will have bigger display screen
i have a 6-inch and 7-inch handheld so i'm safe
Retro tech dad has that 10" n100 handheld lol
Except you can do the same with MelonDS by overlaying the bottom screen over the top and making it more transparent, aka how OnionOS does it for that one setting on 4:3 screens.
This isn’t the best example and doesn’t help with games that need both screens to work best like Sonic Rush, but aligning them horizontally would unironically be way worse for those games anyways.
overlay 3ds or ds is not really enjoyable. u destroy the appearance of the display screen.
sonic rush need ayn thor or arrange in tate mode if using 16:9 screen
You destroy the appearance by putting them side by side, this at least lets you full screen one of the screens for games that mostly only need that 1 screen.
i prefer the big screen display and small touch screen setup. i find that it is enjoyable. 16:9 give bigger screen estate for this setup.
You’d need the Thor for all DS games if you really want them to look good, the MelonDS option is at least the second best option versus putting screens that were always meant to be vertically aligned horizontal instead.
overlap no to me i dont like. this is my opinion.
but for people with small 4.2 inches screen.
toggle mode,
tate mode
or maybe overlay mode.
no choice as little screen estate.
It’s also the best option for 4:3 devices.
If this is your opinion, then you realize that is also the similar reason why I dislike using DS on 16:9 devices right (the screens being horizontally arranged looks wrong to me and I don’t like it)?
Like, my whole argument was against the fact that “16:9 is just better than 4:3 for DS” directly because there are people like me who do not like that for DS.
I normally use big screen small screen same as joey, russ youtuber reviewer. i personally enjoy this setup and its okay for me. ayn thor will solve all this dual screen issue.
my point is 16:9 5.5 inches give u more option than 4:3 4 inches screen.
take it easy, unless u have ayn thor, people will different setup to put 2 screens on 1 screen.
my opinion is that having a bigger screen estate helps.
YO WHAT
YOU CAN DO THAT NOW?!
Yes, I actually made multiple comments about it, including in the RGC and RH channels, only for the mods to say it wasn’t really relevant and that it would be better in the DS channel.
thats actually really good wtf
How? Is it on android, that's amazing
I know it’s weird. We posted about emulator updates all the time, but for some reason with my comment it was decided on not being ok.
thats so cool
this will be an upgrade from my rg35xxh lol
I can actually play dreamcast and n64
maybe psp? but idk about it yet
Like, I was fine with it at the time since I couldn’t really disagree that it wasn’t specifically about the channel, but it still felt weird since we’ve shared info like this often on that channel.
#🐓│rh-media-chat message
But oh well, at long as people know it’s an option I’m happy.
im invested
dreamcast n64 and psp for like 100$? yes
4:3 aspect ratio? yes
above 4''? yes
can play ds games? yes
will i buy? yes
psp? go mangmi.
nah i need portability
and i actually like 4:3 more for like nds
also I have an rp5 for 16:9 I just need a 4:3 device
fair enough, just playing 16:9 on 4:3 is worse than the other way around imho.
yeah
also main reason I want one of these too. get that sub 100 n64 device
I forgot to include, psp as bonus, im gonna use this for like dreamcast, n64 and ds (ds for pokemon
)
since you can make the bottom screen more transparent now
just gonna use the thor for those ds games lol
not a huge fan of playing DS on other devices, Ive messed with it b4. even tho pokemon is like the one series thats very much playable easily
I dont think ill buy the thor since I want to get a new tablet lol
Been like 5 years since ive gotten a tablet
I had the spare money and I wanna play DS/3DS specifically. and dont currently have an 8g2. and wanna try to mess with all its feautres.
dockable console experience.
mini portable media player. bcz its a self standing clamshell.
u already have rp5, then u should get ayn thor as upgrade or wait for 4:3 inches dual screen.
gonna get a tablet lool
for like school and overall use
8gen 2 is great tbh
either gonna get a tablet or the thor
so. the rumored Anbernic DS? lol
iirc, the DS isnt gonna be a t820.
which imho is one of their worst device options.
like at least their h700 devices do exactly what you think and have fun formfactors.
then t820 cant even handle gow 2
yup yup
but also has no compatibility lol
yep!
their android lineup is all overpriced for what you are getting vs other devices lol
yeah man
I will give them a bit of credit for the 556 when it was like, t820 with oled for cheap when on sales.
for like a 557 for 17k php (290 usd) I can already get a base model odin 2 for like 18k php
but the sticks....so...
you can actually get an odin 2 max for that price right now (refurbished :P)
or a y700 2025 with 256gb internal storage for 18k
also d8300 is soo overpriced
for them
it really is.
Xiaoxin Pad 12.7 2025 has d8300 and its like only 11k php thats like 200 dollars
Id rather get any 865 device for less.
my bad 190 dollars
if they can get their DS to like 70-85 maybe it could be tempting.
but like.....also the thor lite for 250 is a steal for how much that can do.
that 100 ish price range and power range was really left with nothing after the 2s got discontinued.
you go lower price, you get h700 or rockchip that struggles with n64 and dreamcast.
yeah literally nothing
you go higher, and you are in ps2 gamecube devices over 150.
no middle ground
mangmi also I give props to specifically for psp reasons since psp runs on a potato device lol
but now you have the mangmi air x for 16:9 and the pocket air mini for 4:3
was a bit disappointed when I saw the mangmi bcz I dont like playing 4:3 on horizontal 4:3 devices. lol
fair enough
Also RP Flip 2 caps seem to work fine, but they also rub against the walls slightly, which has me worried about dust getting into the mechanism
yeah, with the smaller more constricted caps getting replacements is a lil hit and miss unfortunately, handheld manufacturers need to standardize their stick sizes for fucks sake
or at least sell replacement caps
I actually still have my original caps
I just like customizing them
I also just think the caps MagicX uses aren't exactly ideal for their handheld designs
I actually prefer DS Pokemon on my phone because the vertical aspect ratio makes for two 4:3ish screens of equal size
Guys, is there any information regarding the release date?
They say Mid-October.
Hello , can't watch this , how to watch
They can always send each buyer a thermal/heatsink "upgrade" kit like their previous products if they don't fix it in time for release
From the pictures he showed its always on the power cable the whole day so cant really say how the heat will be
Would be a good thing if he’d do some testing without having it the whole day on a charging cable.
Really hope it’s not too bad.
So called hopium
Same
Having it connected to power permanently should not really add much (if any) heat if battery already top out at 100%?
Here is a little more from some other user and some pics
"I also got to see the Pocket Air Mini. Again, the device felt absolutely premium, even though it’s meant to be a budget product. I actually really liked the version with green buttons. The thing that really let me down was the software, and I didn’t manage to play any games on it because the Android version running on the two demo units was completely janky. It’s very possible someone had messed with it and the staff didn’t know how to fix it, but yeah, I was really disappointed. I wasn’t able to launch any games and could barely navigate it."
Surely they’ll fix it …
prob too soon to be too concerned about it yet
From my experience AyaNeo software is top notch so , I wouldn't put it past someone screwing it up on purpose .
If people are worried just wait for reviews, it's not like it's going to be that much more expensive after EB prices
Also, curious what games were running all day. I know being connected to the power outlet all day probably wouldn't add to the heat, but if they were trying to showcase something like ps2 or Gamecube on a continuous loop, I'd expect heat.
they weren't showcasing any emulation on the tokyo trade show afaik, just android games
too close to nintendo 😆
vpn probably
True, true. Good call.
So many excited to play PS2 on this. I'm just keen on playing GBA on the Mini
How many FPS was it getting?
For whatever reason the quality was so bad on my end I couldn’t even make out performance numbers ?
I have a few younger relatives theta play GI a lot and this seems like it would be a nice present for them for the holidays
It looked pretty smooth but could not see actual metrics
for good quality, u need login to ur account (first create) with number
60
I wonder how fast ayaneo will start producing more competitive budget devices if this greatly outpaces their expectations.
So good to see competition in the sub-$100 space.
10k sales
already i think it does
I figured as much as it looked pretty bad , but 60 FPS with high settings is pretty impressive TBH , pretty sure the G99 can’t hit those numbers ….oh and thanks for the quick reply
like i sayed u before, and u wont believe -_- G90T much better than G99
Not that I didn’t believe but it’s rare something from that came out 2-3 years before the G99 that has much better GPU . I just had to see it with my own eyes
🙂
Maybe it’s just the naming scheme but you would think something newer and with a bigger higher number G99 would be better than the G90T

I guess at the time the G90T was more gaming focused
i would not, T mean Turbo
first mtk series for gaming
i remember time when it out and first tests
I did not now that and TBH I really never heard of the G90T before this was announced
many peoples chose it instead of qualcomm
lame
G90T compete with 730G (raw cpu weaker, but it not asked in AAA games before)
T turbo, G gaming
it was way way cheaper
for example Redmi 8 Pro (Legend) vs Mi 9T (legend 2)
they are from different worlds in price and status, but perfomance similar
It’s strange but a budget handheld like the Air has me just as excited as something like the Konkr

AyeNeo is really killing it lately and Konkr sales have exploded with the good reviews
Either way we all win , we get good budget hardware and good high end that doesn’t make you go broke
Find that a bit interesting given the Air Mini is still under the Ayaneo branding
If this continues Anbernic should be worried , if the first budget handheld we get from AyaNeo is the Air Mini I can’t wait to see what else they have cooking , really not impressed by the RG476H besides the screen
they are dead
just niche devices like RG DS will sell well
after market rebuilds
drop the 28xxV anbernic you know you want to
What’s the highest microSD storage that this sort of device can handle?
generally speaking 2TB is the limit unless its supports the newer card standard (unlikely)
not that there are any commercial cards bigger than that atm anyway
Nice. I probably wouldn't put nearly that much on this, so I'm thinking a 128gb, maybe even a 64, will suffice
As silly as it sounds, if this lacked a headphone jack, I probably would have lost interest already.
Not silly at all , manufactures refusing to add one that probably costs pennies to implement is dumb , yes we have BT headphones but that's besides the point when you have a nice pair of wired ones already
Oh, if this didn't have a headphone jack, I wouldn't get this
One day Apple will face judgement for normalizing no headphone jack, got people blasting videos at full volume in public spaces
nah thats just dumb people
wouldve happened regardless
TBH I'm fine with it for phones. Forced the whole industry to make great TWS devices. Before they killed the headphone jack, it was kinda stagnant. On a handheld however...
so 99% of all Apple users, exactly
It was already naturally happening. I don’t think we needed apple to remove 3.5mm for it happen as it did.
TBH I think we did. I don't know if any of the other tech companies that has had the "bravery" do something like that. It's usually been Apple; removing the floppy disk, removing the disc drive, getting rid of USB-A ports. And now, no e-sims on the Air.
bring back floppy disk, disc drives and USB-A lol
I unironically miss laptops that were bulky because they had a disk drive (tray and all) and a ton of ports
USB-C headphones are a thing, but we're still not at the point where those are anywhere near as common as 3.5mm headphones, nor superior
Headphone Jacks don't cost these companies much to implement.
Very silly not to have it
The future is now ig
I mean, manufacturers even cut SD card readers in notebooks these days
yeah give me back the damn TV card
I migrated to Bluetooth while my phones still had 3.5mm ports and apple had already removed them. I just meant that people were already migrating to the technology and it isn’t a requirement for your phone to be missing a headphone jack to try bluetooth out.
Not the same but framework has whatever they call their attachments that can be USB ports and other connections.
not surprised, best device for <120$
Yeah it has great value
So another video stream for exceeding 8k orders? 🤣
all they have to do is let us fucking buy it 😄
They only promised to ship the first 3,000 units before the end of October...the rest will likely come in November and December
So if they don't reserve some units for us, the shipping date might be pretty far off
Kitsune unblocked me??????
Oh thank god
That was eating me up because I had no idea what I did
That wouldn't be so bad for those that also ordered a Konkr Fit , I ordered a Elite that ships after the G3 so maybe they could possibly ship them together in one bundle and save some shipping costs
Konkr Pocket Fit. Konkr Fit is yet another Ayaneo device
You know what I meant
Nuh uh
BRUH
Man waiting for this device is gonna be crazy
How do I setup such screen layout in MelonDS? Ty
Insane value man
Im looking to get one myself if its available in the Philippines through like online stores lol
I’m still half-expecting the reviews to reveal some fatal flaw, because that price-to-power ratio without major compromises just seems too good to be true
Idk I like how it looks
it is how it look
many chinese reviews out
I think the major selling point is Ayaneo branding , 4:3 screen, low cost, looks of the device. Not as much price to performance.
The Konkr fit is a has better price to performance.
I like the model with the red face buttons and the red dpad it looks likes a fun toy
white looking pretty sleek
Yes, I like that the white model still has colored face buttons.
This may be a hot take, but I enjoy when handhelds, especially low-to-medium-power ones like this, embrace the toy look, since that’s ultimately what they are. Fancy toys for nostalgic adult gamers.
That device is absolutely a different price range, that’s not comparable
My dude, you're comparing two devices in completely different price brackets and niches.
its funny though bc i am genuinely the one person in the market who is debating between those two devices, coincidentally joining the conversation at this exact moment
but yeah no thats a dumb comparison
both are the value champs in their respective segments
crazy that both are ayaneo and i'm saying that
it's weird to see huh 😄
Im hyped for this cause this could easily be my EDC and fits alot of systems that doesn't need the overkill power of the chipset like the 8g2 or the G3g3
I think this will be too bulky for an EDC tho
like it already got compared to the CUBE ergo-wise
gotta need something flat and small instead
pocket mini for people who want ps2 and gamecube emulation but cannot afford rp5 or konkr fit.
by adjust some setting put some hack, maybe can get 80 percent ps2, gc and 3ds.
it really worth it.
good value buy 🙂
still no word on when us outside china can order? 😄
Still Mid-October
For some reason I have 15th October in my brain but maybe just because it's Mangmi air x day. Mid October was confirmed... But the Mangmi was due mid September 🤣
No date yet
They really should just launch on the same day. Bundle them for a slight shipping discount, everyone wins!
This might replace the Retroid Pocket Classic for me, despite losing that sweet OLED screen. I don't want to spend the extra money on the RP Mini v2 because I only play lower end consoles.
Hoping there's no major flaws here. 🤞
Same. Most games from modern (PS4/Switch 1 and up) consoles that I would play are also available on the PC and/or Switch that I already have.
The preorders is almost 9000 in China. I think the rest of the world will have to wait for a while. They may still open preorders mid October but shipping will probably take a while
It’s an order or magnitude bigger than usual Ayaneo devices and they already have delayed shipping usually.
So would it be feasible to arrive for international customers by the holidays?
that is a fair point
with Ayaneo doing 10k devices I expect nothing until next year
Damn. I see. This is the first new device launch I’ve paid close attention to, so I’m learning how these tend to go.
Same
I’m not saying they all ought to be Leapsters, but we have enough solid black, white, or grey devices in our adult lives, you know? Let the fun machine look a little fun.
Although this could be me showing my relative youth here a bit as the NES/SNES/GB look that a lot of greys harken back to was a bit before my time. For most of the community with the disposable income to buy these things, that is what fun looks like
Agreed, more Fun colors please
3 color options are more than enough and just gets messy for small businesses to manufacture multiple colors and often leads to added expenses.
No thanks , I’ll take the “boring” colors everytime to save a few bucks
True, they are more practical
Then maybe we Skip White, Black, & Grey lol
The fact that they've sold/people pre-ordered 9000 of these in China alone says alot
Then again, that price is
Too tempting
Maybe if popular enough ( so far it seems like it's a big hit even before release ) they make special colored editions
All I know is I want to see this in reviewers hands that I can actually understand

Surprised ETA hasn't gotten a hold of one
I guess they will send after the overseas preorders are open
To capture the hyped orders
I really need to start to learn Chinese..
its funny, i can kinda read mandarin (ie. i can get the gist of the sentence) but the moment i hear it spoken i give up instantly
tonal languages are a bitch
I spent a day at Tokyo Game Show 2025 and got hands-on with some of the latest gaming handhelds — including the ROG Xbox Ally X, AYANEO Pocket DS, and KONKR Pocket Fit. In this video, I share my impressions of their ergonomics, performance, and overall feel after trying them out on the show floor.
Here’s what I cover in this video:
- ASUS X...
Pocket air mini footage around 23 minutes mark
man, this has no dice against the 476h aside from price
Yeah hard to beat free(since we overpaid for the s2)
Hearing that it feels similarly premium to their other devices was enough to convince me that this will be a great gift to get for my nephews later down the road
I just allotted 75€ to it so my S2 price doesn't seems sooo bad
Idk, I think it’s surprisingly nice and close to the 476h. But that might also be bc I think the 476h is fairly overpriced x3
Which feels insane to say about an Anbernic device compared to an Ayaneo one, but that’s the timeline we’re in
honestly I think the 476h is one of the best Anbernic has made so far
and yes it should be more like $130-140 at normal price instead of $165 or whatever it is, but oh well
It’s a great device for sure, but yeah, hopefully it goes down in price later
give it 2-3 more months and you will see sales anyway yeah
Mainly happy that the Air Mini might genuinely be really good and legit for its price point, but we’ll see how well it holds up once we get more reviews in and from English speakers as well
I suspect it will burn your hands, but oh well
Anbernic like never changes their normal price but do so many sales that basically that retail normal price means nothing.
Look at the 351 and other older device prices lol
I wish I could understand chinese so I could understand the BiliBili vid
hmm i kinda wanna see if this can do rpg maker pokemon fan games via joiplay
since its 4:3
hmm probably
Display 4.2-inch LCD 4 3 aspect ratio resolution 1280×960 brightness 500 nits refresh rate 60Hz

The one time I’m grateful for YouTube’s AI auto-dubbing
Looking good!
I just dislike the fact that it looks so similar to the RG Cube
although Anbernic copied ther design first 😛
I think it’s great that they’re reclaiming the design after anbernic themselves basically abandoned the Cube a while back to focus on the CubeXX and 406H, alongside their other future handhelds.
moderately impressed with the performance shown in that video
looks like aya's software is actually helping, their tailored performance modes seem to help the g90t unlock a decent amount of extra performance
still doubtful over some of aya's performance claims (gt4 is not gonna run on this at proper framerates bffr) but this easily destroys every device in its price bracket, its not even close
when do global orders start for this?
Sure, rightfully so, but the footprint remains
the d-pad on ayaneo is usually mid tho
I do really like the Sega-style dpad
yeah I wish more companies adopted it
fuck Sega d-pads, also quite honestly Aya has some excellent d-pads IMO, arguably there is a bit of variety to them unlike with Retroid/Ayn, so some are better and some are a lil worse, but on the devices I have from them they are pretty much all the same ballpark with the competition, so no complaints
heresy
I'm kind of obsessed with the idea that this < £100 console has the potential for 100% saturn emulation with retroarch beetle core. Am I being too optimistic?
Yeah
Yeah full Beetle requires a powerhouse, relatively speaking
Like I'm pretty sure you need something like the D1100 (RP4 Pro) at least for it
That would be the shared take from what I have gathered 🙂
And thank you for the input 🙂
Ayaneo made a $70 handheld… and it’s actually awesome. It's the Pocket Air Mini, and I’m confused, scared, and a little in love.

🧙♂️ TECHDWEEB // LVL 99 ...
Hey Hey TechDweeb's review is here dude 😎
Watching it now
yaa, it's black unit
techdweeb lowkey top 3 handheld reviewer i love him
9 hours with SNES and 4 with GCN is mad impressive
That LCD ghosting though 😥
Acceptable for the budget Air Mini, but I don’t think I’ll go for the Pocket S Mini anymore
anything at this price point is just gonna come with compromises sadly
I’m… not really noticing any?
But I haven’t used any OLED displays besides my iPhone’s (which is apparently one of the worst ones out there)
It wouldn’t be ayaneo without it
But even if I did notice, I wouldn’t complain/find it acceptable for the price like you do yeah
What you’re getting here is genuinely awesome for how surprisingly inexpensive it is
Should be an excellent gift for my nephews
gotta remember for some people that it's effectively being murdered 😄
I’m still trying to wrap my head around a sub-$100 Ayaneo device existing at all 🗿
They really just decided to wake up one day and just murder the H700 Anbernic devices in a back alley
I mean those probably cost $40 shipped now during Ali sales
Apam will be 80+20 shipping, so $60 more if you don’t get hit by tariffs
Anbernic is usually doing sales for those as well on their site.
Nonetheless, I’m very happy to be seeing devices that can play upscaled N64 & Dreamcast perfectly at this price point
Of course, that price segment has been lacking for long enough
Especially after the RP2S was discontinued
This thing is a better RP2S with a larger display that is also cheaper than what the RP2S was at launch
when does this thing launch?
I‘m not sure how the shipping situation will look like with how many domestic orders they have to fulfill first
Ok, yeah I’m seeing the ghosting now, but I did not notice until TechDweeb pointed it out and zoomed in.
Unsure if I would’ve noticed in person on my own.
it's pretty noticeable and while that screen is fine for the Air Mini, I really hope they don't use the same panel in the Pocket S Mini
all things considered, they should just pay out of their ass to get Anbernics panel for that one
This video also reaffirms that no one should really be getting the 2gb ram model.
The G99 chip on my old Android phone is similar to the G90T in performance, and that doesn’t really crash on New Leaf unless I try to use save states
The 3ds games crashing in here is definitely a RAM issue
Not that you should be mainly getting this for 3ds, but still a nice bonus system along with some GCN and PS2
it's generally weird that this ain't 3 or 4gb of RAM like the RP2S
Least the 3gb model is only $10 more
quite frankly the 2gb model is literally only okay if you want 5th gen or below and even with PSP I would be skeptical tbh
yeah the 2gb model feels pointless

2gb ram especially with all the fanciful software they have would be miserable, if someone comes out with a more stripped down/barebone android for it it might be ok
Am I correct that ghosting is not fixable with software? If it's there on the panel, it's there no matter what?
Don't have time to watch the video yet, is the ghosting better, same or worse than o2?
I find o2 one still ok, though that might be because I don't play much older 2D/scrolling stuff on it, find it mostly noticeable only when scrolling menus etc.
And maybe it's really this 35ms screen
#🔥│upcoming-chat message
not fixable, that's just the physical characteristics of the panel
video didn't really show the ghosting that much, barely a few seconds on one scene, so it's hard to say
but to me it looks okay for a budget handheld
if people were fine with the panels on the Anbernic's XX line they'll be fine with this
that being said I probably wouldn't get the S Mini either
So they can do 4PX for the Air but not for the Konkr? 🧐
just ask them to DPD it, still paying DHL prices, but oh well
better than paying taxes
no way they give him 2gb variant
ayaneo trolls
apparently because the apam is cheap enough as to where it doesnt matter if it gets lost
might have been progamer who said that
nah they literally said that themselves
why does he say they sell it on indiegogo (2:52)
did I miss something
did they also say something about the sales platform
dweeb got me confused
what's there to get confused about? it's IGG as always
They have a page on their own site and prompt people to sign up for a some extra protective film there, how is that going to work if it's via igg
In this video, we test out the brand-new AYANEO Pocket Air Mini — AYANEO’s most affordable handheld yet!
Designed for portable retro gaming and emulation, this compact device packs a custom 4.2” display (4:3 aspect ratio) and is powered by the Helio G90T processor. Despite its low price, performance and build quality are surprisingly solid...
ETA Prime review 🔥
just use the same mail address for both
ETA Prime is also saying that he believes they're running IndieGoGo for this device (Timestamp: 3:12)
that sounds less like a review and more like him repeating the marketing material, how many times does he has to say that this is the worlds first 4:3 4.2" panel
haha lol, at least I'm happy that the reviews are finally coming for Pocket mini xD
That’s what I was thinking
I did not watch his videos recently, does he usually do the same as what he did for the pocket air video above? Just show a pic/name and throw out a number for game performance for the higher end systems?
GT4 1x 60 fps full speed 👀
Gow2 53fps, is that the highest number reached or something 🤣
I mean, you could make half of what didn't work probably run with PAL roms anyway
still wouldn't buy this for GCN/PS2, but yeah no surprise that the easier to run GCN games run full speed at 2x, this is pretty close to the G99 after all
it better than g99 in every possible scenario
only in your little world, that aside, battery life and heat generation is way worse with it
Yeah I'm pretty sure they told they'll sell it on their store.
Tbh I've never ever had a problem with 4PX or Cainiao and I've been regularly ordering from China for at least a decade now.
Maybe it's problematic in the US, but in EU they usually do a far better job than DPD, FedEx and especially DHL. And it's gotten to a point where I get the stuff within 2 weeks, always in mint condition, not a single dent on the packaging.
I don't even care about the tax stuff, it's just that I trust their shipping methods and routes more than I do trust the other carrier networks
I'm talking non-express variants of those private shipping companies. DHL Express, FedEx Express, TNT Express have always been stellar. But anything below that tier has been Russian Roulette..
Which iPhone? I’ve been seeing literally nothing on my iPhone in terms of ghosting so far.
Oh, I didn't say iPhone had ghosting lol
Just that it's apparently one of the worse OLED displays, but that's also just from one person who said that, so Idk how much to really believe that
I have the iPhone 14
Is ghosting common with LCD displays at all?
no
Ah, I had the 14 Pro before I upgraded straight to the 17 Pro like 2-3 weeks ago (thank you $1100 exchange value for waiting fucking forever).
So it's just Ayaneo being inconsistent with LCD displays again
no, its great display
Surprised they didn't send one to Russ first , TechDweeb is getting pretty stale with his "look at me I'm a loner Geek" vids.
I get it he's trying to be different but sometimes you want more substance, I actually thought ETA did a better job in the showcase
It's a good screen for the price, I agree.
It's just that it has ghosting as TechDweeb's video has shown
But not something I would've noticed if it wasn't mentioned or focused on at all like it was in the vid
Not sure what you expected for a sub $100 device running Android, people blow this way out of proportion a lot of times
Are you saying I blew it out of proportion too?
I never said it was bad lol
Or just talking in general?
Nope , in general
Tbh, for that price point seeing something other than the 10000th Anbernic iteration is refreshing
Ok, gotcha.
Tbf, that seems to happen a lot in this hobby
People blowing things out of proportion I mean
It's a great screen for the price
The real question should be: is the display better or worse than competing offers around that price
better
And I'd wager a guess that it at leadt isn't worse
Higher resolution than the upcoming XU Dream 1, and similar quality to the Mangmi Air X screen, but that's 16:9
that was actually crazy end of the year, we get x2 sub 100 ps2 compatible devices
This is imo the best 4:3 display for this price bracket
As long as it’s better than offers that were more expensive, it shouldn’t be too much of an issue for most people, although it definitely would be an issue for people actually sensitive to the issue.
Yeah, but if you want better, then pay more 😉
....if there were more any premium 4:3 options...
Which is the exact reason why it would want to be better than more expensive options.
We'll see what that so called "mortgage screen" for the Retroid Mini 2 will end up being like
There aren't even better options imo
Tbh I'd be really looking forward to a slightly bigger, true 4:3 Mini2 V1
I still love my Mini V2 though
But for stuff like GB(C)
or other handhelds that were meant for small displays
4.5 inch 4:3 OLED would be very dreamy.
But I'd take at least a 4 inch screen
I'd like 4:3 at RP5 height, just narrower in total
And maybe actually more retro-y
I love the black glass fronts for modern and/or compromised aspect ratios
But 4:3 could/should look like a proper retro console imo. The Air Mini kinda nailed that
Just missing the front firing speakers for endgame potential
What size screen is the mortgage screen from Retroid ?
Yeah Im weird but kind of wish there would be a version of this one without analog sticks and only 2 shoulder buttons. Just for handheld and 8/16 bit gaming. But Id rather wait for retroids mini successor
What's a "mortgage screen"?
The RP Mini sceeen aka LG Wing display? 3.92" at almost 1:1 ratio iirc (sth like 32:29)
Did you missed the mini screen drama?
if the mortage screen is even real 😄
nah, that was only the immediate solution we forced onto them after we found out that they cut off part of the screen to make the fake 1280x960 display...
Not the drama, but this post I missed
I'm actually kinda glad that turned into the RP Mini V2. That thing is almost perfect for GB(C) stuff and small old handhelds
Hey all, where can I actually buy this device? I watched techdweebs video on it and he mentions indigogo but I can’t actually find it on there
This is my first time looking at buying something not readily available in aliexpress
we spend a whole weekend bullying them and they basically yielded to my whole list of demands, so yeah, glad it came to be
Does that discount extend to Mini V2 owners that are actually happy with the Mini V2? 🤣
I missed that. Thanks for bringing this to my attention
Cutting off the RP Mini screen was such a weird thing to do lol
it will go up for sale in like a week or two or so, we don't know the exact date yet and China is still on holiday right now, also don't expect it to ship anytime soon tbh, they have like 10k domestic orders by now, I'm worried that catching up with them will take a while and them selling through IGG is mainly because there may be delays in shipping this stuff
I don't think that discount is still on the table tbh, that was from a week before we gone and bullied them into making the Mini V2, accept all returns and pay for shipping themselves
tho arguably they said they are still commited to the mortgage screen, so I hope we will see a 4:3 4.5" 1440p 120hz OLED panel soon
Mini v2 is what the Mini should have always been.. such a nice little nifty device.. I sold it after a few weeks but got remorse and just bought it back a week ago..
I bought two and no regrets
I could live with 60Hz OLED on a 4:3 tbh. 60Hz BFI is unusable to me
I want them to make a 120Hz RP6 though.. or RP5 Pro, whatever
nah it will totally be 120hz, everything else would be insane
question is more about size and resolution
well 1280x960 would be the minimum, but we pushed for 1440p
hope they comply
lol
but I doubt it
1280x1024 and cut it down to 960p and we're good
so yeah 4:3, 1280x960, 120hz seems pretty set... size really is the variable here
no cut screens
they in fact don't, the claims about the 34xxSP were wrong
The SP yeah
But the 34XX afaik is a 4:3, could be wrong though
Which isn't inherently bad
You'd just have to do it right
it ain't, they just glued the connector on weirdly
Tbh, I wouldn't have bought the Mini v1 even if it were a true 4:3 without the problems
Those bezels looked ugly
And 4:3 at 3.6" isn't gonna cut it
yeah, the Mini V1 was just dinky lil 3.7"
I mean it still is for 4:3 stuff, but the extra screen for other systems makes the V2 so much better
if the mortgage screen isn't real then all hope is lost
I think they indeed will have a custom screen, just the part about taking mortgage on house was bullshit 😄
Probably just guilt-tripping the people who were mad about Mini V1 screen
Same with Chris resigning, which fortunately was also not true
will XU dream1 release or will it be just a dream.???
I've given up on anything UX , they announce everything early and build hype but take way too long to bring to the market
Same with Magic X
Tbh, I suspect we'll see the Thor/Odin 3 screen (or a trimmed down version of it) in an RP6
Can't be a coincidence that Retroid announced a custom screen and a few months later Ayn shows up with a "custom" screen too out of the blue
god fucking damn it
the mortgage thing was the selling point of it for me, where's the drama in getting a custom screen without some major financial stake involved?
I've been looking for a slightly nicer but still pocketable replacement for my old RG35XX H and I think this is gonna be the one! After watching TechDweeb and ETA's reviews today I think the overall design, price, performance, and features are just what I'm looking for in a pocket pal 😊
it's kind of chonky, expect it to be bigger than the rg35xxh on the pocket
It definitely looks chonkier, but I always carry my RG35XXH around inside a case in my pocket and it fits just fine. I have had an RG40XXH and was able to pocket that perfectly well too, but the ergonomics of the D-pad placement super close to the edge of the device on the 40XXH just didn't work for my hands.
If it fits in TechDweebs pocket tester pockets it should be decently pocketable
...I'm kinda into this device
the black one is so sexy
Yes yes this will be a replacement for mah RG35XXH aswell
Does it have video out??
For the toy look, Id go for the white but if I just wanna stay sleek, im going for the BLACK
Unfortunately no, the Helio G90T doesn’t support DisplayPort Alternate Mode (which is the official term for native USB-C video output as a functionality in chipsets).
I think the black one will hide the screen bezel the most.
Is there a size comparison somewhere ?
I'm probably the only person in the world that doesn't care about screen bezels though, tbh
I don’t either, as long as it’s not 16:9 gameplay on a 3:4 screen, yk
16:9 gameplay on 4:3 screen is such a bad idea
Exactly. I barely notice bezels unless they’re that egregious.
I want a device like this as a smaller pocket companion for maybe some gamecube and down
I'm getting the Thor for the heavier stuff and dual screen but I kinda dig this thing in all black as well.
Is the device already on sale? I see links on AliExpress to purchase it, although the Retro Power Edition is sold out
Nope, not on sale
this is random
I'm pretty sure the seller here is just some random guy.
It's already happened with many devices, so I wanted to confirm it
He'll get your money, wait for Air Mini to come out, and re-send it to you
Yeah you should only buy from official sellers on ali
So it's basically a reservation with a higher price
Nah, it's even worse.
meh, well, let's keep waiting. It would be great if 11.11 arrived mini zero 28 It became very small for me
The release date for this is the 15th right?
Last I heard intl. pre-orders go live Mid-October, shipping out December
That might be outdated tho
Watching the preorder window like a hawk though 👁️
That might be pushed back for the rest of us as domestic orders are in the 9 to 10 thousand range
Which is still crazy to think about
Good for them!
Maybe if they scale production they'll lower the price! 😂
I remember there was a quote going around from Arthur saying he was going all in and manufacture thousands
I guess that worked out huh
is this one of those you need some indiegogo to pre order or you just have to wait until its on the site?
I can’t even find the IndieGoGo page for the product that would let me back it
same I guess I'll just wait
I would love to throw my money at this out of sheer curiosity
This might have just turned me off
Actually, I've never went through with a pre-order
Why not
I like this little thing and idk why
It's just neat
On September 18, 2025, AYANEO once again delivers a new masterpiece driven by its relentless pursuit of ultimate product design and innovation — the AYANEO Pocket AIR Mini. As AYANEO’s very first entry-level product, it is not only a new benchmark among retro handhelds but also the ultimate true 4:3 graduation device that embodies both class...
Stop, I can only get so erect. It's so sexy, like a little itty bity Steamdeck
I don't know if those prices were already confirmed or not before, but damn... they seem pretty damn good to me tbh.
yeah confirmed prices 🙂
Nice to see the "2G okay" badges on the games they claim run well. I feel like they're at least trying to be transparent, though not sure what their definition is of running well.
No reason not to go "3" on this though.
i'm going for the high 3+64 GB Retro Power model
Same but in white.
I usually detest one-way colorways but find black the most tasteful here
I like all three, but leaning to the the black or retro
I'mma do the early bird 3 gb version, though I can't quite decide between the red and white or the retro power colorway. I guess I've got some time to make up my mind though!
I'm getting 3gb solely because it's an Android
this is the perfect linux handheld. will be awaiting the day that batocera comes to this.
I'm going to buy the black and also the red/white then swap all the red parts to the black one and sell the white with black. 🤔
I dunno why but I'd love the black one with the green shoulder buttons. But I'm going for black because it looks kinda matte

Day before mangmi
Poor mangmi
yesss
still igg? strange to let igg take a cut for a low priced product.
Hope the shipping for this won't be like their other campaigns。。。
It’s a weird choice
By the way preorders in China exceeded 10k, wild
No way they can meet that demand in a reasonable time. IGG is so they can slow walk these out
That’s good reasoning
Maybe they also want to show off the numbers
They are even having problems shipping the pocket fit within China on time
I hoping the anbernic rg ds be priced/speced well enough to kind of be a competitor to this (though the different formfactor)
It think rg ds will just be $99
<$100 lol
Leave some room for discounts. It’s not like it has any competitor at this price range
Ok maybe there is one competitor, MagicX Zero 40
And that’s $80, right?
Air Mini’s preorder deposit is only $1.50, so it’s hard to say how many will actually pay the full price later... especially with the RG DS releasing in ready stock this month at a similar low price
who need rg ds
bunch of DS fans
no way he tried ZERO and MW
what's that?
most demanding game on gamecube
and most on ps2
wonder why he dont run it via gc also ... (best via x86, would be super playable)
cpu not enough for ps2 version
F-zero and Most Wanted?
Speaking of the Magmi for comparison which one is more powerful the T90 or SD 662?
Yes slightly different form factors but just curious who wins the budget battle
T90, How much? BY ALLOT
I'm honestly surprised how much they pull out of the G90T, which in all honesty is weaker than the T820... and just because I threw in the RP2S SoC, honestly we are cooking some stuff right now with these budget Android devices
Geekbench6: single multi vulcan open gl
Wow ,very surprised.
Thanks but I see no reason to buy the Magmi now besides it having a 16:9 screen .
Really didn't realize how weak the SD 662 was compared to the T series chips
that what im talking about, mangmi dead twice
by air mini and by K59 16x9
G90T, G99
Same response as always : potentially the best cheap widescreen Portmaster handheld. The Rocknix team is working on running Linux on the Air X, which none of the others can apart from the RP5 (at double the price).
Really don't care for Rocknix TBH but glad someone is holding on for the Magmi , I'm sure if this came out 6 months ago it would of been a big hit but not so much anymore. Still I hope they do well
if they can port rocknix it will already was announced (they have unit already +- month), but seems like there no way to do it except qualcomm help team
Shouldn't the T90 be above the 720G ? Besides slightly better single core score the T90 beats it but a large margin with vulcan and open GL
should, that first sheet version
but also 720g is way better in x86
bc of turnip drivers
so in real world with x86, even 662 will wipe G85
G510 is pretty good
You guys always need to remember about $30 on top for shipping
So the real prices are $100 and $110 during super early bird
Still good but not that great anymore
but mtk now much and much better than before in x86 emulation, bc of new wrapper legaao (https://github.com/leegao/bionic-vulkan-wrapper/releases)
Winlator Bionic/CMOD compatible (DX) Vk-on-Vk wrapper for Mali, old Adreno drivers, and Xclipse - build with https://github.com/leegao/vulkan_wrapper_termux-packages - leegao/bionic-vulkan-wrapper
That’s for everything shipped now though , so whatever you buy is a extra $20-$30
Not sure what your point is
Magicx will have 10 dollar shipping for when their product releases in 2038
Not Anbernic devices sold on AliExpress though. And some of them are far too cheap to be “hiding” a $30 shipping cost
XU and MagicX has $10 shipping, Anbernic will have $0 on aliexpress and sites lite Bangood and Geekbuy
So XU DREAM 40 will be $76 in total vs $110 for Ayaneo Pocket Air Mini
Air Mini T90 is substantially better than the G85 though .
So to some the extra $30+ dollars is still a better deal.
Personally not a fan of anything XU or even Magic X
Not sure what $100 Anbernic handheld could compete with the Mini Air
it will not compete with anything
just separate device market for DS fan base
Plus not everyone likes using AliExpress as some are just rip off sites that send you something you never ordered . Sure not all but it has happened
Not all
Already have a almost new like DS and the Anbernic DS is a T618 I think so still substantially weaker .
Plus I don’t trust Anbernics software
substantially more powerful*
basically base on antutu score is by 50 percent.
antutu is nothing
g90t, g85 and s662 are mid tiers
processor
they are great on psp/dreamcast and n64 games.
for ps2/gc and 3ds will be bonus.
anbernic t820 is far stronger than g90t also struggle with ps2 as ps2 quite demanding.
if u want bigger screen 5.5 inches and 16:9 for better psp games.
better 3ds and ds as bigger screen estate choose mangmi air x
if u want 4.2 inches 4:3 devices and more playable ps2/gc then choose ayaneo pocket mini.
in my opinion, pocket mini and air x has different strength and weakness. choose u want big psp screen or more playable ps2 games. both are great devices
its not far stronger -_-
if he want 16x9 chose K59 not mangmi
For the same shit screen and build for the same overpriced value of the k56?
k56 overpriced?
(about quality some of reviewers says they upgrade screen and build, unconfirmed for now)
now maybe, but when it release it was good deal
will this tariff affected those people order their devices from the US.
He needs money for his new kid with satan
dont get 2G, get at least 3G
i dont have enough money bro
the 2G is just fine
Isn't it only an extra $10 ?
For only $10 less, the 2GB makes literally no sense.
If $10 extra is a problem for you, change hobbies.
Honestly.
The headroom for Android is a must
The 32gb of internal memory is a bigger issue than 2gb ram.Its ridiculous.
@hot steeple Not really sure why you downvoted. As jabbathehut mentioned, the 32GB of storage of the 2GB RAM version means that an SD card is pretty much necessary, whereas you can get a lot further with 64GB of storage. The $10 difference is a ridiculously small offset once you factor in the shipping and aforementioned SD card.
Also I meant what I wrote : if you can afford a $70 toy, you can likely afford to pay $10 more.
Normally I would be against encouraging falling for price ladder tactics, but it’s literally just $10 lol
Zero reason to get 2gb one
The 2/32 version shouldn't even exist. 32GB of storage in 2025 is a joke.
Honestly would’ve preferred a 4/128 model existing for a bit more than the 3/64
Exactly.
I think everyone agrees with that
its not surprising that the 32gb model exists
are there any handhelds this price that come with more than that
64gb inbuilt storage for this price is pretty unheard of iirc
mangmi air x prob the only one
My problem is not the internal storage
Is more the lacking ram
Feel like it was pretty obvious why I downvoted tbh. I don't disagree that the 64 GB version makes more sense but the "change hobbies" comment is kind of cringe. It is supposed to be a budget handheld after all.
That's my point : if according to your finances it's a budget purchase, a 10% increase that you would have paid anyway for a storage upgrade should be well within your budget. Getting the 2GB version with only 32GB of storage without buying an SD card means you'll be extremely limited in which games you can install, and if you just don't intend to play the more recent systems with larger games, then this handheld makes little sense and you should get something cheaper.
There's no logical reason to buy the 2/32 version. 🤷♂️
dont get me wrong i also agree that the 2/32 ver prob shouldnt be purchased
but i think it exists moreso for aya to say they have a ps2 capable handheld for that low a price
And if the purchase is irrational, it has to be a collector or someone for whom $70 is pretty much petty cash… and if it's not, well… changing hobbies is really a sane financial advice, don't you think ?
Anyway.
I didn't mean to offend anyone. I genuinely think that people should be discouraged from buying the 2/32 version because I think it's a false economy.
so that they can sell u at 70 dollar to uncut mangmi air x selling at 75 dollar for using the voucher. techdweeb has 2G review unit, he mention when he load 3ds game it crash as due to low memory as android do use your ram memory also.
for 10 dollar, strongly advise to get 3G model.
Imho, 2gb ram consoles needs extremely lite version of Android, without google services, similar to/or GammaOS Core - on 2gb ram magicx zero28 with GammaOS, all 3ds games loading with vulkan turned on, and it's still about 500mb of ram left free👆
I mean no, not really, why would someone buy something cheaper, then they'd be getting even less for their money. You're going to need an SD card regardless of which sku you buy
with pico gaps
fine
getting interesting, another mid tier device magicX One35 is joining to compete the mid tier market. and it is the cheapest at 55 dollar for 3G model.
this one can play fully
psp/dreamcast and n64
and can play some ps2 /gc and 3ds. amazing!!!
2025 is a good year for retro handheld.
this one slower than g90T but faster than s662.
using G85 chipset
I wouldn't really say it can play "some" PS2, because this sits in the same ballpark as t618 devices... which honestly were pretty ass for PS2 and 3DS... well the emulation for the later improved, so some GCN and 3DS I will admit, but fuck no, don't buy this for any PS2 at all
still the cheaper model comes in at $74 shipped, which is great value for something way more powerful than an Anbernic XX device
anyway ps2/gc/3ds are bonus system. if u got ps2 turn based rpg that u wanted. high chance with mod and setting u can get it to play. but must lower expectation for ps2/gc and 3ds.
but psp i believe all games will be great although small screen at 3.5 inches.
true true, tho it's a 3:2 panel, so it's not too bad for PSP... 3.3" for that, compared to 3.9" on the Mini
i thought 4:3 thats good 👍
it is really great, mid tier chipset to be priced at 55 dollar is really great. this mean that the high mid tier s865 chip may soon reach like 130 to 150 dollar soon.
I mean the RP Mini V2 is already $179 now
still expensive but retroid need to slash their prices as ayn thor and konkr fits price quite near to rp5 and give better spec and performance.
true true, I wouldn't go for the RP5 even at $199 now, compared to the KONKR at just 50 more, but oh well
completely unrelated, but can I ask about your username? Are you a huge fan of the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia or something?
only rp4pro seem okay as it got d1100 chipset can play 80-90 percent of ps2 library. but screen only 4.7 inches 16:9 aspect ratio.
selling at 149.
it can play 100%
what emulator compatible for (i dont count games which can be playable on Gen3/Elite, they just BROKEN)
same as 865
i thought d1100 is slightly worse than s865. or else why flip 2 d1100 sell much cheaper. yes cannot emulate switch due to missing turnip drivers unlike s865.
cheaper bc its not qualcomm
thanks. as i have bought rp4pro i thought only 80-90 percent of ps2 and gc. keep thinking rp5 is much more powerful.
much if u overclock it
30% free performance boost
equivalent to snapdragon 888 in raw gpu power
how do i overclock it ? need to use custom OS.
stock os can do overclocking thanks for this info.
thanks alot. hopefully it will not heat up the chipset too much but got active cooling.
well, 5W transform to 7W (real peak consumption)
Stock cooling more than enough
for it
do u have a rp4pro? really under rated selling at 149 dollar quite a good deal.
dont, but i use it a while
yeah, im rate this device high for that price
even its not perfect
but the screen at 4.7 inches abit too small. that why likely will order mangmi air x screen 5.5 for psp and n64 gameplay.
my country no market for 2nd hand retro devices. seem like buying new devices cheaper.
ouch
pain
there no way to order from Ebay?
yes, no way. so sad 🙁 my country dont even have steamdeck must buy from reseller.
what country
mauritius
We'll probably see more G1G2 devices for cheaper before we see any more 865 device around that price point. Besides, with how things are trending now, we'll probably see the RP5/Mini/Flip 2 drop again sometime next year after the RP6 and whatever other device comes out
rp6 rumours to use G2gen2 do not know whether this is a good choice or maybe they change to G3gen3 maybe.
but why x86 handheld still so expensive like there is no competition to try to lower their prices to attract more consumer
they wont change it
G2 is special for Retroid
It's not really a rumor, it was confirmed during Snapdragon's conference earlier this year that it was using the G2 gen 2
Blame the orange crayon man and AMD selling their chips for lucrative prices to the makes of x86 handhelds
But that's not a convo for here
Is there an pre-igg page yet?
This more corporate greed than the tariff thing though .
Look at how more expensive the Lego 2 is over the original for one example, sure it has OLED but does it really need to be $400-$500 more expensive than the first model same With ASUS and the Xbox X , you get a pretty crappy performance lift over the Z1E with the Z2E ( sure better ate lower watts but not so much when pushing it a bit )
But your right this isn't the time or place ,
@fallen dagger can u run geekbench6 (at least) tests? 🙂 I need stats for my performance data sheet
Can someone tell me whats good about this device
Big hi-res 4:3 screen, serviceable GC/PS2 (as far as we know), <$100
That's what has me excited anyways
No, but I can tell you what's OK about it
nice 960p (a bit ghosty, but fine), <$100 Ayaneo is so good
even if it barely plays PS2, it would still be a nice, comfortable step up for PS1/DC
Oh nice
I I was about to buy the rg 476h but feel like this is probably more powerful and more ideal for PS2 RPGs I plan on playing with it
Both have nice portable form factors
I can't justify a rg 477m even I already own a portal
It's not workin! I've tried to run the CPU Benchmark 3 times and it keeps on crashing half way through. :S
Probably not a good sign...
Give your pocket tester a shot at it
Not letting him out of the basement's basement until he apologises for giving me sass
Looks like GPU test went through okay. OpenCL: 2002, Vulkan: 1967
I know you liked the 476h as well (but loved this one). I also know it’s about double the price. Any thoughts on if you had to choose just one (ps1 and below only)?
??? Oh of course not, the anbernic one is far more powerful than the aya air mini
Yea I was thinking about that as well. I don’t use shaders but I do like upscaling and want to see ps1 on that 120hz screen, so I’ll probably go 476h anyway. I just really like the non-glass front of the ayaneo and their screens are so well tuned for color too…choices choices.
Oh I'm super into the 476H. That's like my main handheld right now. If price isn't an object (and neither of these is crazy expensive) I'd go with the 476H every time.
Even for ps1 and below. That 4.7" screen is so nice, and 120hz for the system is nice and smooth, and the power for most gamecube and ps2 is the icing on the cake.
I also like the flatter form factor. I'm realizing that I'm a fan of slabs.
Sort of where I was leaning anyway. I’ll pass on the pocket air mini for now and go for the 476h. I’ve got a whole list of ps1 and below RPGs I’m challenging myself to finish and this seems like the right device for that. Thanks for the reply!
The T820 does beat out the G90T in benchmarks, and based off of other tests it does play more PS2 and GameCube
It's why I skipped this and got a 406H
Agree. The air mini is D-pad top which isnt that ideal for PS2/GC. The 406H is more powerful and has stick top is the better choice if you want Ps2/Gc
Otherwise this device is good for everything under that. I plan to use mine for mainly lower end stuff.
I also got mine for the same price as the 3+64 Pocket Air Mini
well, that close to best android phone/tablet with that soc 😄
but that really weird, cpu shouldnt crashing on device like that ...
406H is so much more expensive and worse it is more expensive rp4pro but rp4pro have a better processor can emulate 80/90 percent of ps2 and gamecube.
pocket mini for price 70 must be compare with anbernic h700 series handheld device. it will be more fair.
i hope anbernic will follow the trend anbernic ds using a good chipset like g90t chipset rather than h700 series. although anbernic ds look promising at 100 dollar
It genuinely depends on how much you pay for the handheld
For example
My 406H was $80 shipped
And even at like $110 (which a lot of people usually pay nowadays with sales and coins on AliExpress)
The 406H is the better option
why your 406H is 80 dollar under chipset t820. it is good deal.
AliExpress sales coupons seem disabled for alot regions since some time back
406H website selling at 149 dollar. not so great.
u are lucky
to have aliexpress coupon i dont manage to collect any of them.
??? I mean the coupons not working for me as well during sale
At least the past two
They stop providing for quite a number of countries/region
darm unfair 🙁
Global don't work, no country specific codes as well for some. My home page stop displaying codes during sale, similar to some of the comments in the link above
Odd
$80 for a 406h is a fantastic but I've never seen it NEAR that price for Europe, even with coupons.
Yup
Never seen it sub-€120 I don't think
But maybe I'm looking in the wrong places
I've looked weekly and never seen it even close to that price new , must of bought it used or something
406h is going for $103 on AliExpress right now for US only
Oh wow
Yeah I got it used, I thought I mentioned it?
At this price even, it’s a better buy than the Pocket Mini
Nonetheless this Ayaneo doofus seems cool
Might of missed but I always liked the 406H but thought it was a bit overpriced and kind of forgot about after Anbernic released handhelds with the new 4.7” screens .
Hows it holding up ?
Don’t have it yet
For a bit over $100 bucks it’s a crazy good deal new
I get it tomorrow though
Yeah, like I said even at that price it’s a better buy
Hope you love it
I probably will, but I have my Odin 2
I got it as a smaller option for some android stuff, since I commute a lot
Also don’t want to risk my Odin 2
One thing to consider is sales. Ayaneo, Retroid and AYN don't really sell on 3rd party so their prices are static. Brands like Trimui, Anbernic and powkiddy do meaning there are opportunities for big sales.
The igg page isn't up yet right?
Very true. That being said, the US often get much bigger discounts than European countries, so for us it can be a lot less enticing. 😕
Right now the cheapest 406h I can find on AE is at 121€ (136-15).
Sometimes the US prices are nearly half what we pay, and that's not even looking at prices to eg. South American countries.
It's a weird market. 🤷♂️
There's a rg557 for 176€ though.
So is the IGG now on the 17th rather than 14th?
Yeah, it is going to be a gateway (Drug) into going to that brand that establishes value, and offers premium as well.
Tbh, with PS2 so many games support native widescreen or work very well with automatic widescreen hacks, 4:3 really only needs to go up to PS1 era
Fair enough, I just like my PS2 to be on 4:3
Yeah, me too. I'm just saying that PS2 has such good 16:9 support that some people (like me) are really looking for a good 4:3 system for stuff that really only works well at 4:3 but aren't necessarily willing to break the bank for a "isn't suited for modern" nice-to-have 4:3 aspect ratio device.
It has it's place imho
This must be up soon to order, I’m sure they mentioned 14th
17th now
17th was announced during the recent stream?
Still no igg page for it.
Probably not possible for most to get it before Jan 2026 at this rate.
It was a tweet, apparently IGG is making some changes after the buyout and site will be down and new verification for campaign owners. So Aya pushed it until 10/17.
That Jan 2026 thing makes me glad I bought the 406H
the delays are starting 😂
What kind of performance do you think I can get out of this (which consoles can I play) Also, is an extra 1Gb of ram even going to do anything?
alr, ill do sheet with soc's performance ...
