It should be in the Azahar folder -> sdmc -> go in 2 folders with just 000s -> title -> one more folder then after that that folder has the save file of your games

It actually runs insanely good, gotta turn down graphics but on medium performance I was able to get stable 60 through a full arcade run with it only dipping barely on one of the stages

@gilded pecan I have noticed that the default Drastic setting for external display actually crops the bottom image. Changing from 5% to 15% should fix it

I'm hesitant to report this as a bug on MelonDS (hoping there's a dev here who will see this) but the recent update that changed the way external screens are handled, removed the option to set the internal screen layout on a per game basis. I would really like that feature back so I can set games like Sonic Rush to have a 1:1 screen ratio, but keep everything else with a larger screen

Azahar has async audio, so for RPG/grind/pokemon is a beast since you can hear the music at 1x playing at 4x.

For action/adventure games that you will be playing at 1x, I believe Citra can be ok.

You will notice that the shaders will always load more and more, mine is 5100 now.
Futher you progress, futher the shaders will be getting loader and at some point the freezing will be constant.

He also seems to be working under the assumption that any usecase other than DS/3DS is not something anyone is actually interested in, which feels reductive to me. That's a good 40% of the reason I bought that device for me. If I pay for an Android device, I intend to use Android on it

this is something I didn’t expect, but it’s turning out to be the real killer feature of the Thor. Two screens is great for DS, 3DS, and Wii U of course, but the type of multitasking possibilities that having two screens opens up makes the Thor a far more desirable device to use in a lot of situations than my phone is. If I’m reaching for a gaming handheld to do something besides gaming, instead of my phone, that’s massive.

I’m considering the Thor as a possible EDC and companion device to whatever candybar handheld I get that’s more powerful like the Odin 3, and it’d give me a bit of peace of mind to spend less in the event something catastrophic happens to it, but Idk if that’s still enough reason to get the Lite over any of the 8gen2 models

To those who ordered their Thor after the units started shipping, how long did it take between the order being confirmed and shipping being confirmed? I ordered mine on the 24th, realized the color I wanted and wasn't available at time of ordering was already back in stock the next day and asked support to swap the order, which was done on the 27th, but since then I haven't seen anything move from AYN's end. It's really not horrible. It's also weird in that I only can "trigger it" in certain scenarios. If I'm on the launcher screen, let it sit, then use the drop down, I get retention for about a minute. I can't get it to happen in a game though (like if I pull the notification shade down over a game with persistent UI elements)

The power is there to run rise, I've gotten it to run at around 30, the problem is getting it to run through gamehub. I've only ever gotten it to launch and play through a cracked version on winlator. Ever since gamehub updated it to 5.0 they got rid of one of the wine versions that you kind of needed to run it

I've bought my AYN Thor without the grip because I've usually been fine with handling controllers with really weird ergonomics (if anything I find the standard Xbox layout controllers to be one of the less comfortable layouts), that way I'll be able to conduct a more comprehensive test of how much of a compromise the device's layout is without its grip.

If I really can't stand it, I'll take the opportunity to buy a case alongside the grip.

This is something that is impressive to do for any handheld device, especially one that lets you do it on two screens at once.

At the same time, the breadth of things it can do comes at the cost of a bunch of compromises for someone who would, say, only want to play DS games on it. The ergonomics are compromised to accomodate the two analog sticks, the triggers are apparently subpar, which you don't even need in the first place for a DS control scheme, and those also come with a bump on the sides of the shell to try and alleviate the ergonomic issues that in turn make the device less pocketable (and it was already on the edge of pocketability, being the length and width of a 3DS XL, a device that was notoriously large at the time of its release)

And then there's the touch response which to this day still is inferior to original hardware, and does get in the way of gameplay in certain types of games.

I'd say it's an excellent device for its price and I'm excited to play and tinker with it, but it's also true that it makes compromises that may not be acceptable for some depending on their use case. Even so, right now I'd say it's the closest to perfect among the handheld dual screen devices.

Having "only" 8GB will definitely get in the way for x86 game emulation (after all a bunch of those require more RAM than that for the machines they're actually designed for). Depending on how heavy the games you want to test are, 12GB will be a significant help.

As far as I know the Thor is incompatible with micro sd express. You want a standard micro SD card with 'A2' class performance for the best random read/write speeds (daily use) and 'V90' class for the best sequential speeds (transferring files)

You can have 2 separate launchers, but only one can be set as default. I’m using Beacon top and Smart Launcher bottom.

My way around this has been to use MacroDroid to auto launch Smart Launcher on boot and to only have it launch on the bottom screen. Tapping home button breaks this but you could map the back button to be task/app switcher.

Most app launchers just don’t support dual screen. I did ping the Beacon dev on here a while back about implementing dual screen support and he said he’d think about it just need to figure out what would go on the bottom screen.

Ive heard the black is nice cause it hides bezels but it shows fingerprints. Im thinking of the white which is not a usual pick of mine. I dont like the ribbon cable visible on the purple
