I can’t exactly claim to be an actual hater of Johto, but I’ve personally got a lot of issues with the Johto games, and it fucking sucks because the region itself I honestly really freaking love (from the native Pokemon, to the actual setting and towns, all the way to the character designs even).

But I also actively dislike a lot of the gameplay aspects, so it just results in me preferring romhacks of Crystal a lot more than any of the vanilla versions of the game.

My issue was always that I grew up with Gen-4 as my first games (and admittedly I wasn’t a fan of those either, so maybe I’m just a freak in terms of my opinions?), so the lack of it in Gen-2 made it even more difficult for me to move past the frankly bullshit stats they gave for a game without that.

Thankfully, the Legacy devs agreed and made Dark a physical attacking stat so that Sneasel would at least have something to gain from its type! Instead of being the “active and complete detriment with no positives” that Ice/Dark gave it in Gen-2.

Obviously they did it for more than just Sneasel (most dark moves in general used to be physical due to being normal in gen-1, so you had a lot of physical attacking pokemon losing out on a good number of useful moves due to them suddenly not being useful), but Sneasel definitely appreciated it the most.

I might be one of very few who wants this, but I miss playing VMU games with my emulated Sega Dreamcast games.

Imagine playing Sonic Adventure with widescreen patch on the top screen. Then displaying the VMU screen on the bottom screen of the Ayn Thor. Then pressing R3 to take out the VMU to play Chao Adventure on the bottom screen, and pressing R3 to insert the VMU again and upload your trained chao.

The issue I was having was making it so swiping up didn’t work, using the button in the “3-button navigation” didn’t work, and even the Thor Menu’s task button didn’t work.

Then I just stuck with quickstep for a bit until I decided to try again with Daijisho, and for some reason it just kept working on this one. I’m very afraid of it breaking and not working anymore if I even mess with the home app set-up once.

Not really. Nice thing about the Thor is that it just becomes a 6 inch Flip 2 when you don't use the second screen. When you do want to play dual screen then you have that option instead of some jank RDS setup

For me, ergonomic to use is bad and uncomfortable, L/R trigger for playing racing games is very uncomfortable too. I have Odin2 Portal and Thor is very very big downgrade in ergonomic perspective. I will wait Odin3, i think it will be the best for my needs.

Why the name is confusing

Some people's Thors, mine included, get image retention on the top screen. I've noticed it once with the white AYN bootup logo, and once with the white Azhar logo on the homescreen. If you go into a dark-coloured app after that, you can see the logo for a few seconds. It doesn't happen every time, and it goes away quickly, but no idea if it'll get worse

Tbf a similar thing happened on my Odin 2 Portal with the upgrade icons in Brotato. I can sometimes see their outlines for a few seconds when starting a new level.

I wouldn't call it a dealbreaker but the two screens have a quirk where due to the fact Android doesn't have proper support for having two screens at two different refresh rates, having the upper screen set to 120Hz (which the bottom screen, maxing out at 60Hz, cannot match) results in screen tearing on the bottom screen. Note that this issue doesn't occur if the upper screen is set to 60Hz.

This is almost the exact setup I'm running, except I'm using Beacon top and Smart Launcher bottom. It gets a bit annyoing though, because If I hit the home button down bottom, it goes back to the Quickstep app drawer. Beacon and Smart don't have dual screen support, so my inbetween right now has just been setting Beacon as the default and using the task manager or the back button to get back to the homecreen of Smart Launcher at the bottom. I also have Smart Launcher set to only launch at the bottom.

I know it's probably not feasible, but I wish I could have separate default launchers for each screen.

I’ve been getting around this by just using the app switcher when I need to. You can map the back button to be the app switcher as well, best workaround I’ve found so far.

Winlator uses a combination of technologies to translate x86 calls to Arm, and Windows calls to Android

depending on which translation layer you're running in

Fex is native arm, box is x86

in my defense I know that the steam deck uses x86 architecture. But yeah I know there's more to it than that, I guess I didnt know anything about fex vs box and where each is used though and within what programs. Although I think this is all irrelevant, the difficulty in emulating a console vs using a translation layer is that in emulation you are trying to make new hardware function like a specfific set of hardware, and in translation layers you are just rerouting existing calls that are made to be more dynamic, or something like that

I tried different GPU Drivers, settings, backends, every single video settings on and out.
