But prog4m3r is right : the Snapdragon 8 Elite is relatively pointless for console emulation right now. And PC emulation is the obvious target.

KONKR G3 Gen3 12gb is the most powerful you need for console emulation and can already do a fair chunk of PC emulation, if you want to top off with what it can do on that front even there 16gb makes sense, but the compatibility with Turnip drivers is just much better

Right, but for the same price as the G2, you can get an RP6, which will have roughly equivalent performance as an Odin2 which is better than the G2, you just have to wait a little bit for it to release

I think you're going at this the wrong way around. Don't look at each device seeing what it does and does not ; it's better to think about what you want precisely and then make the (often relatively obvious) choice.

here Russ put the CPU scores of the 865 (RP5 in famicom colors), G2 Gen2 (RPG2 in Switch lite turquoise), 8gen2 (THOR, but same as Odin 2 line and RP6), G3 Gen3 (KONKR) and an 8 Elite (phone) next to each other

it's not that far off from an 8 gen2, but still scores lower, and the extra headroom helps in some cases for Switch emulation, but doesn't really matters for PS2 and lower

On my end I do not have a graphics card pc just a ROG Zephyrus G14 and I can't deal with the bulkiness of the steam deck or other x86 devices (plus I would consider those to be too expensive).

I really want a device I can put all of my games and can take on the go (where I play most). So I decide between taking my Switch 2 or the KONKR.
To me the KONKR & Switch is a more dedicated device vs my laptop or a pc and thus I expect more performance and enjoyment.

Aside from the bigger caps that are included with the device not fitting at all I have no complaints, very comfortable, maybe the most comfortable device I have out of the box even - and I dig the slim form fitting official case. Quality is solid, obviously no CNC-ed shenanigans, but far from feeling like they cut corners. Performance and compatibility is as expected, but I have the Pocket S2 so I knew what I was getting into. The screen is also as nice as it looked in videos, if you hold a Thor next to it you obviously see that it ain't OLED, but I see no reason to be bothered by it being LCD, I'm more missing the 0.3" extra screen the Pocket S2 has . I love having trigger locks, but the switch could stick out a bit more for my taste, so I don't have to flip the device to change the triggers.

Honestly, if Ayaneo would have this up for sale normally and would ship them out a few days after people buy them it may easily be the handheld to go for, even at the now higher price.

-Screen looks really good. I don't have an OLED device so I can't really compare.
-The sticks with the original caps don't feel that great to me, so I swapped them. Aside from that, no complaints.
-In terms of software, I guess it's ok. Nothing special, but there were some minor bugs when I first set it up (Bluetooth indicator on, when it's actually off, Google Play store randomly returning me to home menu while logging in - nothing serious)

Just pop whatever the tracking number is showing into a shipping app. The “parcel” app is pretty good. Still good you selected dpd to avoid taxes. But what i mean is dpd are terrible at providing updates, its usually nothing for about 15 days till the item hits your country and then is handed to your local shipping company. So Royal Mail for me in UK. IGG is just showing Royal Mail tracking. Rather than dpd.

So ive done some gameplay testing and the konkr is loosing the same amount of battery as the g2 after 12minutes of playtime, same game same settings only the resolution 960x544 (G2) vs 1280x720 (G3)
The g2 loses 8%battery and the Konkr in gaming mode loses 9/10%
Balance mode it loses 7/8%
Considering it has 8400mah compared to the g2 with 5000mah im a little disappointed
Obviously the g3 play a bit better but wasn't expecting battery drainage to be so close

My bet would be that devs will optimize for the steam frame (same as steam deck verified) and thus I expect that G3 Gen 3 will perform better than other Qualcomm chips. Better optimisation can also ofset some of the raw power of the elite (which has compatibility issues on top)

Welp my konkr got here. No extra charge and it’s pristine so far.

By charge I mean tariff. It was power charged to like 60%
