I agreed with you guys on this until yesterday. But after seeing the RG DS running 3DS Pokémon and Animal Crossing, I feel it's literally the opposite! They hadn't shown 3D games in the promotional videos; everyone knew and expected that at most it would run very light 2D 3DS games... now the situation has completely changed!

...Yeah, you're going to have to temper your expectations here. Some segments of 3DS games that are turn based and are therefore hurt less by the lack of full speed emulation are slightly faster than slideshow speed. That doesn't make the device 3DS capable any more than the TrimUI Smart Pro is PS2 capable because Gradius runs.

And, once again, none of this should matter, or at least it shouldn't have until Anbernic's marketing department decided to be dumbasses because this device is clearly not designed to run 3DS games except by complete accident.

Not automatically no. While it's not too hard to add, you would need to manually create the graphics and code in the positioning of the buttons. This is ultimately a fancy overlay and relies on RetroArch's touch screen system so it's limited by what binding it can utilize.

My issue isn’t inherently with Light Bleed per-say, it’s when it arguably shouldn’t be there in the first place. Unless there’s explicit evidence on the contrary, this is very likely the same 4” screen they’ve been using since the freaking 405m and this is already among the worst light bleed they’ve shown with that panel. They should already be aware of how to avoid making the light bleed look this bad.

If Anbernic were to come out and say point blank that “yes, these are new panels that have been shown to be more prone to light bleed caused by the minor imperfections in manufacturing, we were not aware of this until it was too late to swap to a different screen”, then I’d at least be willing to give them the understanding courtesy of the fact that they were willing to acknowledge and explain the problem.
