Lol I did not mean it to come off like thr🤣🤣
I mean fair ovy there something I'm missing
Caise most do
If ya look uo in tht chat like from yesterday I explain my issues with it tho not a bad game
Im so upset. Grah! Gonna blow up the pikmin chat!
tried a couple attempts at the last boss with 50 reds and that's just too many to manage it's too easy to lose 20 to a jump
i don't feel like managing bomb pikmin is worth it because they like to unalive my squad
I did the last boss with 25 reds
and a handful of yellows
seriously you don't need more than 25 reds
If I had my time again I’d do the final boss with 20 pikmin and a few reserve squads incase I messed up
I just put a bunch outside the door and gathered them by running into them, not calling with the whistle. I could only ever get like 7-8 max ever attached to the boss at any one time, so 10 was like the max I ever wanted to have. wasn't hard, but it took forever. Did not enjoy that boss at all. Pretty big difficulty jump from all the other bosses that didn't require much.
I went from metal spider straight to last boss and found them on a par
metal spider was simple, I thought, especially in comparison. I don't remember it throwing off anything. It was just throw a bunch of yellows on the body and you're done.
it was definitely less of a sponge at any rate.
Maybe it’s a skill issue but I had a small elite force ||avoiding feet|| then ||jumping the head before getting thrown off||
Absolutely had much fewer hit points though
Yeah, once I figured out the pattern for the spider it was pretty quick. The final boss took a lot more attempts, and even once I had a working strategy it still took most of the day to whittle down.
Yeah the last boss is best in groups of 20-30 and correct you can only fling about 5ish pikmin at him, then let them do their thing and recall as soon as the get flung off
Rinse and repeat
Takes a long time
It’s not a great design, imo. Make it puzzle but somewhat fast once you “figure it out,” or make it more skill based with a bit of sponge. Combine the two is just tedious. Not a bad game by any means, and I’m hopeful I’ll enjoy the sequels more.
Really? Sometimes I got 25 pikmin on there all at once
I found I could get some more if I threw them in right after he jumped, but it always risked more casualties since I couldn’t be as fast in the recall too. Wasn’t worth it to me.
Yeah I played it careful because its really easy to lose like 30 pikmin at once in that fight lol
so nobody tried bombs with the final boss?
I did
Bombs were always a bad idea for me. I've already talked about how inconsistent the controls for them are, and it didn't always end in disaster, but when it did, it was pretty cataclysmic.
I could not be bothered, although I knew I should
just wondering how the "intended" solution to the boss was supposed to work since they very clearly hinted at using all the bombs around
I also just threw pikmin at its face
i want to test out if you can actually knock off a decent chunk of hp by getting every last bomb and just letting him eat all of the bomb pikmin but it takes so long to get all the bombs
I started with the bombs but then just ended up throwing just about every pikmin I had at it haphazardly and that worked fine
Actual footage of my fight.
as long as you have enough to carry it back, you're golden haha
I only lost two of my yellow pikmin despite using the bomb strat
So I must have gotten the timing down pretty well
I TRIED the bombs
They were meh
Just not QUITE enough time to use them well
Cause like its a pain in the butt to queue up a yellow with a bomb
just only bring in the bombs to fix that problem, and use them all as suicide bombers.
and not wind up having one get squished, then the bomb blowing up 10 of your own pikmin
My problem is usually the incosistent whistle causing them to detonate mechanic.
Yeah that drove me nuts
But I tried to have like a bomb squad and a red squad
and by the time I flung a yellow, he dropped the bomb, I ran over and grabbed some reds, then started to fling, it just....wasn't worth it
||I was able to switch back and forth between yellow and red, but I only commanded one yellow at a time. So when they got mixed up with my reds it wasn't really a problem||
||they'd throw their bomb, I'd call the reds, and then the yellow ended up in the attack group but it wasn't an issue||
I only lost two carrots.
Also I finished in 21 days
So I can only presume I learned how to play the game properly
Yeah, the control just wasn’t precise enough for me to get the bombs to work. I’d have to put my attack squad a ways back so the boss didn’t get them while they were standing around. But then after taking a yellow in and stunning it with the bomb, by the time I retrieved the attackers and got them latched on, the stun was almost over
