#Retroid Pocket Mini V3 (Not Real)
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
yo wtf is Discord doing, lol
I hope they will do 4 inch or larger this time around
we all do, 3.7" is only what they found lying around at the scrapyard, so 4"+, 8gb RAM and re-doing the front to make the buttons surrounded by a plastic cutout instead of directly onto the glass will be welcome improvements I hope to see happening
I know it's technically confirmed to happen, but this handheld is probably not coming out for a good long time
yeah, probably more an end of the year device alongside the Retroid Pocket 6
Depending on how good the specs on this are and how it feels, I could genuinely see people keeping this for several years.
Handhelds are starting to get really good to where most people wonât have to upgrade them for a long time
I like keeping devices for as long as possible
yeah, this could be the Mini we deserve
battery is always an issue for these devices when you are talking about keeping them as long as possible
hands down kiddos, do we actually need a Mini with a 4" screen
or rather a 4:3 Retroid Pocket 5 with a 4.5" one đ
the bigger the better
Hell yeah! Let's make this mini a massive!
You guys crazy, 3.7â doesnât even qualify as âminiâ to me. How you gonna bump it to a 4.5â
Haha. What's great is they'll just rescale it again. With even smaller ergos
I mean with how much wasted space there is on the Mini as is, a 4" panel would fit, them going all the way with a custom ordered one kinda would make lil sense if they only intend to replace the 3.7" one on the Mini as is... so rather make something that blows the competition out of the water, 4.2"-4.5" ideally
Custom order also gives me pause. Lol
"we fucked up the last panel so now we're using a whole new panel that no one else has ever used! It's gonna be great!"
I mean, them actually ordering a panel is huge news and quite the expensive endeavor... also unlike sourcing weird panels, that have janky behavior due to coming from digital picture frames or industry appliances and the old phone screen options kinda running out at this point, I don't expect anything bad from this tbh
Is it actually happening or its just discord Wishlist for screen
as everyone mentioned 4 inch ++ would be great with that SOC
I really liked KTR1 screen 3:2 with 4.5 screen
Well itâs completely different from sourcing a preexisting panel no one has used before, since this time Retroid can actually specify that they donât want any odd issues like the scaling.
It's happening
scroll up, Retroid is going all in on a new 4:3 panel
They havenât said a size. People in here are wishlisting it to be less mini lmao
Since they are going to change the screen now is it mean we see the discount the price
Thanks for clarification all
And depending on how much it costs (since at this point, weâre now in completely unexplored territory and I personally have no clue how much these types of things will cost), I already recommended a 1920x1440 screen thatâs around either 4â or 4.3â-4.4â so that it integer scales with everything but DS/SNES/Wonderswan/NGP.
If they're getting custom-made screens there's no way they'd use one that's the same size as the Mini screen lol, that's like the most common complaint people have outside of the crazy shit that happened over the past few days
to be frank, after bunch of screen directly exposed to accidents, vetical or horizontal
i am with idea of flip
but want more powerful retro handheld
but 1 smaller than FLIP2(its 5.5 inch which is great) with 4 inch
Fuck ya
And I also asked David to let us know if this would be too much, so that we wouldnât get our hopes up too high about this, alongside having at least part of an idea on what the limits for it will be.
Super SP screen
1280x960 is actually just nice, higher resolution the SD865 can't really handle it for ps2 and up
It outright solely depends on if the price for manufacturing will be so high that things like âmaking it 1440pâ will be a minor increase, or if it would exponentially increase the price to be too much (since even 1.2x more expensive would be way too much money to spend).
if they using a new chip then thats fine i guess
This risk can be make or break
Oh Iâm taking into account them using it for several devices in the future, including stronger chipsets, because theyâre gonna want to get their moneyâs worth on those things by using them as much as possible.
Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 has my vote for selection
it's less about what the SD865 can handle and more about future proofing the expensive custom screen for devices that will come tbh
The thing is, if they donât go with the same or very close sized screen, they have to redesign the shell đ so are you guys expecting this to be a whole new device? A Mini 2? Or is it (more likely imo) a Mini v 2
Why not just use the DMG screen instead of making a expensive custom screen ?
I guess its more like Pocket Mini Remastered
because bunch of people are very adamant about it being 4:3, despite the DMG screen in a mini revision being the same 3.7" screen real estate without scaling issues
Well theyâre gonna be doing it like 12 months from now, so a new shell would be pretty simple by that point.
Even now, theyâd probably want to do so, just to ensure they donât have to spend extra on a screen that perfectly matches the Miniâs just for reusing the shell.
Because they can fix it or know that it would not have no problem in future screens
ideally I would want it to be a Retroid Pocket 5 4:3 đ
Yep
12 months to good idea
Like, by that point, redesigning a new shell for a new screen would be significantly less money than what theyâre spending on a new screen, and asking for specific things like âwe want it to fit this shellâ would already also be adding to the costs.
Well wouldn't it be fixed with the DMG screen too ?
I haven't seen any scaling/shader issues with that
well, according to Davids post it's within 12 months, so I kinda expect something either by November or at least before CNY 2026
Yep
It's less risk when you do custom AMOLED screen without issuing
I would absolutely buy an DMG screen Mini, but with that I'm the minority, as said above the 4:3 crowd is very adamant about it and honestly them partnering up about a good 4:3 panel is a step into the right direction for all future devices tbh, I just hope it will be bigger and not be bound by the current Mini, like 4.2"-4.5" ideally
Also more expensive that usual;y gets passed down to customers
I will absolutely expect a Mini V2 being the same price as a RP5
That's why they are risking with this
Theyâre gonna specify a size to the manufacturer either way. Thatâs not an âadditionalâ specification, itâs just⊠a specification. I donât understand how it would cost more to get a 3.7â than a 4.0â. And I think if theyâre already making this grand investment in the screens then they would want to reuse as much as they can of existing hardware stock and manufacturing processes to save money elsewhere.
With a custom manufactured panel, they can not only have a way bigger supply of them than new-old-stock LG Wing panels, but they can also have a potential exclusivity deal to ensure it lasts even longer (since they wouldnât be sharing with AYANEO or possibly Anbernic/Powkiddy).
Which makes future proofing it also a viable option.
100% agree and my main reason not buying the Mini was the for me the small screen size and from the start wanted at minimum a 4" screen but a screen like the KTR1 would be nice too
tbh, they could probably even sell their 4:3 panel to Anbernic and Co.
like they are footing the cost of development of this screen, which is a cool 2million after all
AYN seems more likely if anyone
AYN is very likely yeah
kinda expect an Odin with that panel as well, which would be nice
Well, assuming they canât do 1440p, requesting a custom 3.7â 960p panel would be an outright waste since they can outright have the same 960p panel made in 4â and make the display itself small enough to fit the same shell.
And thatâs not even getting into the fact that no one in this community even completely knows anything about what these panels can cost since itâs fully unexplored territory, and the only thing I ever was able to figure out is that a smaller panel, even slightly, can be a good bit more expensive to manufacture than a bigger screen of the same resolution.
I really hope this will just turn out to be a 4:3 RP5 instead, fuck it being small small, the Mini is just a bit shorter than the RP5 anyway
Yeah, I also mentioned that in an earlier comment on the Retroid Discord, where they could sign a non-exclusivity deal that specifically still gives them a cut of the money whenever a different company orders a supply of them.
it's probably what will happen tbh, otherwise I don't see them making 2million back anytime soon with their own devices
Iâll take a 3.0â 960p plz
I can understand the concerns about a bigger screen making this less mini, but isnât there a bit of wasted space on the Mini?
Could probably increase the screen size a bit without sacrificing the overall size too much in that case
I want MOAR mini
I have a feeling that might push the price above the 1 million, no exclusivity is one of the reasons they got their current price
I think
Maybe Iâm making stuff up
Yup. Itâs either full exclusivity to ensure they canât be undercut by âAnbernic or Powkiddy making a way cheaper device with the same screen, and said screen is perfect for integer scaling most systemsâ.
Or they do a deal like this to ensure that even when they try to undercut Retroidâs devices with said screen, Retroid still makes a profit from the frankly enormous investment theyâre making.
Plus they are small company so it's very risking
no chance of a 100%/full exclusivity
even screens used by rog ally etc started appearing on the mass market after some time
Yeah, that I definitely can recognize when being fully realistic, so hopefully theyâre able to make it a non-exclusive deal where they still make a profit from others using it.
Yepppp
ohh my goodness grass
Perfection
Need this instead
maybe best to keep the ergos
why don't we just scratch the screen altogether
make an audio only handheld
inset the god damn sticks dude
that would ensure no one has to deal with any sort of scaling issues
You know what, the custom screen might help with that, since it might not take as much space under the hood
I mean sure, may do, may not, I just kept the lil extra space while doing more inset on the sticks in my lil mock-up above
On Ergo part if 4.5 inch & Steam Deck deck design with 4:3 ratio
I really hope someone tries it & says
Its perfect in hand to build as Retro handheld
Like your thumb will be happy & reward you
the era of the plug and play is gonna make a triumphant return
I wonder what a $2,000,000 custom oled panel looks like. Do they get to choose frame rate/color balance and everything?
Please get rid of the all glass front and loud clicky buttons
but all glass front + oled panel makes black bars go away
Thatâs entirely overblown IMO
It will still be OLED just not all glass
Tbh 4 imo is the limit to keep it pocketable
Different aspect ratio
with 4.5" in the RP5 body it would probably end up being 170x78, compared to the 165x77 of the RP Mini
Damn I love the 1920 by 1440p idea
Tbh 1440p might be pointlessly high ... butbeho knows
So bets on if this thread takes as long as the miyoo flip?
Because they havenât even made the screen yet
within 12 months

Did I not already just post the integer scaling images?
gotta camp out here for our ultimate 4:3 handheld
Oh I mean Iâm totally here for the ride
I just hope we get some updates as it goes to keep the crazy at bay
at least David should give us some input on the screen resolution and size at some point, I hope
They already said within 12 months for the screen, and assuming the provider doesnât change anything during development and provides the schematics early enough, they should be able to use the provided schematics to design early models for the shell and lens.
Thatâs true, but schedule will almost certainly slip because thatâs how things like this work
well, realistically speaking either we have pre-orders going by November or it comes after CNY2026
Liek yes in knoow but would require way stronger SoC
Im betting itâll be like April of 2026
Maybe May
We will see
It would not need it for the games where youâd care about integer scaling.
And for 6th-Gen and up, it already does well with up to 3x for most GC and PS2 games, with the games that donât do well at 3x still being fine with 2x (and the games that only work well with native are the games that only work with native on the RP5).
technically the SD865 runs a fair amount of not too demanding GCN at 3x already, but leaving that aside, it's more about future proofing the screen IMO
like they won't want to make a bunch of screens, but use this for a while, so about 4.2"-4.5" at 1920x1440 just makes the most sense IMO
Pretty much.
Seems big for a mini device, but I would be down
As long as the visible display is close to the real size, it should already be only as tall as the RP5, since 4.3â-4.4â is around the size of what 4:3 games are on that deviceâs display.
Yeah just depends on how tight they can make the shell around it
I also kinda hope the ergo bumps go away because they just arenât big enough to make a difference
they shell out 1million right now and repay the remaining million with the devices they sell that use the screen
So future devices using the same screen will pay for it
so I honestly wouldn't be surprised if the Mini V2 ends up being $219
Maybe we get a 4:3 flip
And also devices that donât use it?
The âfuture products in this classâ seems to imply using the same screen
I mean, it's probably an agreement that just adds an amount per screen the manufacturer sells to Retroid or others (AYN?) until the 1million is paid off
like Retroid takes 10.000 screens of their hands and they have an additional $10 to pay off the million on top of the usual cost, that's the first 100.000 paid back, then Ayn makes 5.000 4:3 Odin 2 with it, another 50.000 paid back, then they sell 25.000 screens to Anbernic, and there go another 250.000 of their debt đ
$10 royalty until itâs paid ok could make sense

I would kinda dig a 4:3 Odin 2
mhm super sp bottom
ya 1920 by 1440
rp mini v2 screen was always the plan of our glorious leader sean
You said it bro
This is way too premature to be a thread
It's never too early for the hype train
i raise you this. no video out either
We should just start a Retroid Pocket 6 thread tbh. Hasn't been announced but it'll surely happen!
Retroid 169V
1.6inch vertical with the 10th generation anbernic processor?
nah a 16:9 aspect ratio vertical

Oh god
if this'll have a 4 inch screen with no ergonomic bumps I might buy this
Pray for the 1920 by 1440 plans
It's the only satisfying super SP out come
1440p is nice and all, but I'm still overall happy if they stick with 960p or 1080p
I've realized that 220ppi is pretty great actually
with shaders you can make the image pretty even
with the cost of a little blur effect
once you're past like 300 ppi the bluriness starts be become hard to notice
1920x1440 is great and all but it's not going to be the deciding factor for most people imo
the thing is this screen is custom made and will be used on more upcoming devices, so just fitting it to the Mini by making it extra small OR making it only 960p would be a waste, even if a Mini V2 ends up being a bit more expensive due to the screen not being as cheap, they should future proof it IMO
and 1920x1440 arguably is the ideal resolution to perfectly integer scale nearly everything, better than 960x720 (which funnily enough does a better job than 1280x960 at some stuff, with the 1440x1080p option being dead last in that regard)
ideally I would want them to do a 4.5" 1920x1440 panel, which would be equivalent to the 4:3 real estate we get on the RP5, which is only like 1mm taller than the Mini as it is anyway
mhm super sp
just take one of the panels of the surface duo and trim it a little bit with scissors to fit it on the Mini's chassis
bang, done, saved Retroid $2 million
probably extremely hard to source, also horrid resolution to integer scale tbh
I had a mental image of the poor retroid employees taking scissors to some screens, just trimming it a bit
and I am deeply uncomfortable now
where do you think the scaling issues of the Mini's screen come from
4 inch amoled mini would be a buy for me i think
Fuckery department LiveLeak videos
Why don't makers just get a large 4k monitor and cut out a smaller portion in the right resolution, are they stupid
Just take the pixels you need and put them on a handheld, it's EASY
Worst ppi ever
Also the calibration work needed for that sounds.... ew
Y'know I was just making a funny, I assumed it wouldn't even be theoretically possible lol
Just sprinkle the pixels wherever they need to go
I will buy it if it has a 4â+ screen apart from my RP5
I hope someone asks them why they do not use the DMG screen with the redesign and instead use a expensive custom screen that they will just pass cost down to customers.
We don't even know the price for this
The owner says he had to mortgage property to get money to finance the new screen , itâs not going to be cheaper but probably substantially more expensive
still don't know how much more
Non Integer scaling đ€Ź
Welp, weâre glad to have MagicX fans on our side in the fight against the âjust use DMG screenâ faction.
Says the guy who bought a Brick
Im not sure what that supposed to mean in this case , you like handhelds to be even more expensive?
I get why some are worried about Integer scaling with the DMG screen but it should still work fine
He canât go home because he lost his house over it
To the contrary!
I bought it for the sole purpose of integer scaling
IDGAF about the full screen
It just has the largest options in comparison to 640 by 480 integer scaling
Ahhh fair
Just because they are gonna make a miniv2 with it, doesn't mean they can't make other devices with it afterwards
Never said they shouldnât make a screen to use in future projects but making custom screens takes time and will only take longer than working with what is available now .
I mean if they want to turn this around itâs better to fix things sooner rather than later
it's not really "fixing" it
also the amount of people that would buy a Mini with the DMG screen is rather low I presume, albeit I would be one of them
Betrayal!!!!
The mini works better than peoples miyoo flips that don't close at least
Miyoo Flip, boy why are people even buying their shit
I just assume using the DMG screen is a good compromise all around, OLED and from what Ive seen from the AYANEO shaders work
oh I don't disagree on that, in fact they should have used the DMG screen from the beginning IMO, as it's the same 3.7" 4:3 real estate while being better for other systems
yet the backlash from the 4:3 crowd would be huge and a fair amount of them would not call it a satisfactory fix
It's a loss for integer scaling
There are more than just 4:3 content to play with SD865
Same bilinear as the mini
4:3 would work better than the dmg aspect ratio
31:27 is way too square for 16:9
Personally think thatâs overblown and still subjective from person to person, would personally rather have a cheaper but still good enough option. I mean you get to the point if the Mini V2 is for example $30-$40 dollars more expensive then some people will look for other options
It depends on how they approach the Mini v2, if it's just a screen change then yeah I think 40 extra would be too much. I kind of feel like they're going to release it alongside an rp6 though
Either way itâll be interesting how this all plays out and I actually hope the new screen is at least 4â-4.5â
Thereâs space
my guess is $40 less expensive or $169
If they wish to keep the outburst less & praise more
just to make people happy
Are you saying the V2 model with custom screen will be cheaper?
The dude supposedly had to take out million dollar loan on a property to finance that , no way its cheaper
No chance
You donât go into business to loose money
one thing to keep in mind is retroid kind of has their own little section of the market all to themselves
a miniV2 NOW would oversaturate that market
waiting awhile to release the v2 is definitely a better business move, let alone getting a really nice custom screen for it
That'd be nice but I'm pretty sure the ceo would actually end up homeless.
Same if not more
A few months ago, some Retroid Pocket Mini users began reporting issues with the Mini's display. Apparently, when using high density CRT shaders, content was not reflecting the advertised 1280x960 resolution of the 3.7" AMOLED panel. Instead, people were seeing an effective vertical resolution...
its getting worse
that explains the chonk
They're going to use this same screen again in the classic

You know whats funny , if they used all of the DMG screen with the Mini ( the whole res and full size ) I probably would of ordered one

They shot themselves in the foot to please the 4:3 crowd which still would of looked perfectly fine just with tiny Black bars that you mostly wouldnât notice after a minute or two
This is actually worse than originally said if true
Already see someone in their Discord suggesting to just uncover the now Retroid Classic screen on the Mini if at all viable.
But yeah, to say I am baffled by this recent revelation about the RPMini screen would be an understatement.
Like... why?
They should just have said, hey we messed up big time , with the new redesign were just going to uncover the bezels and use the full size and res and not spend 1 million dollars for a custom screen that will eventually just make the V2 more expensive .
I donât know whoâs at fault with the supplier lying or Retroid having a brain fart but in the end it was a massive shit show and lost a lot of goodwill
well, I wouldn't put it past the supplier to pull a fast one on Retroid with this, selling it as a 1280x960 panel and f-ing with the controller to push everything to the 1240x928 resolution the visible part got... that being said, if Retroid did proper investigation into this like they claimed for months, they should have uncovered it themselves, so either way, not a good look for them
It's a very bad look in my eyes.
It makes me not really able to trust a lot of what they say after this whole nonsense.
Not that I trusted much of what companies and corporations say in the first place, but still sad
I will say though, I do wonder if, assuming them making custom screens for the Mini 2 and presumably their other future devices ends up true, if that's one less pain point if it goes well.
Don't have to deal with the possibility of misinformation from the supplier? (Not that we know for certain that's what even happened here)
Can't say I'm knowledgeable enough about the production side of things to really comment on that in that way
It's a rather fun mess when you don't have to deal with it, but I will be holding off on pre-ordering the wombo combo of Flip2 and Classic until Reviews drop tbh
btw @vale prism @flat nymph you guys wanna push this mess to the masses, before pre-orders of those two go live
IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A JOKE
Okay, RP Mini 2 custom screen. Not going to believe it until YveltalGriffin does a tear down.
Especially the fact that Retroid David literally stonewalled the whole âcommunity found out the Mini is literally just using an LG Wing bottom screen with most of the screen covered to make it look 4:3, and directly lied about the actual native resolution and pretended the issue was just a driver issue.
I literally didnât even know about this until others pointed it out when I still was waiting for a response from them (only to find out they already did).
They should stop selling the Mini immediately. End production on the "perfect 4:3 screen" (because who is going to trust them at this point). Release the Mini again without the bezels and offer every mini owner a front face at cost of production.
Might wanna bring this up in their dedicated text channels instead/as well.
They should see this since they got tagged, but just in case there's a chance of this being missed bc of being in a thread for a device not releasing for a long time
Still burns but it is better than the game they are playing now. Stringing along scourned buyers with wishes and prayers.
If the Classic has a jank screen like the Mini, they will be in very hot water (again). They'll need to reveal the specifics ahead of reviews, and I need to buy a microscope lens đ
Adding to Monday topic
Have you read up on controversy part two?
Uneven pixels??
The mini has literally a wrong display that been altered and forced upon a different resolution
Yeah that is jank
Has David responded about this yet, on podcast now will check back after
There shouldnât be any problems with the classic
Hah oh shit Stubbs just waking up?
I doubt there will ever be a bigger f up than this any time soon
Yep it's not as good responses
But it's something
Here you go
Itâs like they wanna redeem themselves but are still avoiding taking accountability.
Apparently neither the supplier or engineering team has done anything wrong
The classic is straight up just the Miniâs screen without the jank. So they straight up had access to the non-janky screen at least once they started working on the Classic.
Oh fucky city. Every response is making it worse
Ah no jank in Classic screen?
You should seen the mod responses
That is good for Classic owners, RP mini owners should continue to refund.
Long day
Yup, at least no other jank than what the DMG had.
They can't mess that up I'm praying to God
glad they got rid of the 200 refund limit so people can be made whole, but good God
Iâd prefer for them to have not done this in the first place, and at this point Iâd take them pulling an RP3+ and offering a drastically lowered discount for an RP Mini fixed screen diy replacement that uses the whole 31:27 display, alongside delisting the 4:3 Mini to put that 31:27 one up.
Of course, Iâd only accept that if they also fully acknowledged that they fucked up and shouldnât have done all that in the first place, with a guarantee to work better with the community devs way sooner than pre-orders, to get the same stamp of approval MagicX worked to get for the Zero 28 and for future handhelds.
tldr for you
the screen inside the rpmini is the SAME screen as the one about to be in the classic
they covered it up and did wonky fucky shit with firmware
we dunno if they were given preassembled fronts or not and told "yeah thats what you asked for" or if they directly knew it was fucky and shipped anyway
it "MIGHT" be fixable with more fucky stuff but its early
the screen in the mini/classic is the same one on the pocket DMG, which is the smaller screen for the LG Wing phone that flopped
david made some responses this morning but they didnt really allay fears and if im being honest i dont think they even really referenced the current drama, just more promises
its possible they knew all along tho
yeah its a mess, reminds me of ayaneo and shell coat gate
the funniest thing is that people would have bought the mini with the full screen instead of doing that wonky crap and covering it
the issue with scaling is STILL technically the screen driver chip
just now, we know the actual reasons
that poor chip is confused as hell
current Minis - 0
Minis with the DMG screen I would have bought - 2
Ah excellent summary, thank you. What a freaking wonk fest
We'll incorporate the takeaways into our content
the guy who wrote that article cuts OG console boards for modding, so hes not just some normy either
@warm wolf @tulip berry
Please read for summary: #1348657419542073436 message
and gamma did confirm
Donât forget to tell Retroid that they really should focus on fixing this(at least by doing a âRP3+ replacement motherboardâ or even better for this with fully exposed screens and a new firmware to use that screen) instead of wasting the $1million on the V2 screen that they wonât even be able to make if this continues.
id still like that new screen actually
it would be good for a number of devices if made
might encourage other companies to not use bargain crap and invest in real hardwarte
Yeah, do you think theyâd be able to handle the returns or shipment processes for dealing with the first mini if they didnât ask for at least half the $1million back?
nope not happening now
people has spoken
retroid should burn
sure as hell, but I want it to be a 4.5" screen now and them to clear up this mess properly
aka FULLY refunding anyone who returns it and sending out the uncovered panel free of charge to any buyers who prefer that
also sell me the sweet 8:7 Mini đ„ș
thats really up to them lol, i just state what i want, the feasiblity is their issue
Yeah, at this point I really only want them to just deal with the Mini screen issue by giving us what they should have done from the start for as minimal of a cost on consumer end as possible, even if it means they canât do that new one.
they don't really have a choice aside from making it right anyway, the screen only being 1240x930 instead of 1280x960 will go through as fraud with any bank
if youd rather have a miyoo flip that doesnt close, by all means
wait what?
Do you think DIY is the best way?
Nah, budget handhelds get a pass, donât you know?
tbh i would still call anything under Odin 2 as budget
I would as well, I am terrible at screen DIY projects đ
retroid is really the only upper mid tier company
if they die your stuck at anbernic/miyoo level, or go up to ayn/ayaneo level prices
you WANT retroid to succeed
No, Iâm personally thinking that they should have diy as an option for people who donât want to ship their Mini to China, but that they should be open to replacing old units with the âfull screenâ units.
Hence why I donât think they can do that without canceling the new screen plans.
people has spoken though
retrod is as godo as dead cause of ...checks notes new findings from some enthusiast forum
so then they should make the new Mini?
yes
To be fair the screen would be pre attached to the front shell
Wait, the rp mini screen was the ayaneo dmg one the whole time? I actually might have bought it if it was larger like that
They should make a version of the same Mini we have, but it doesnât hide the rest of the screen behind the glass lens and use a messed up resolution output.
making a new 4:3 Mini should be the least of their priorities
fix the Mini is No. 1
heck, for all I care postpone pre-orders on their new stuff to fix this mess
Exactly.
Priority should be a clear apology and explanation to how it even came this far.
From there they should listen to actual mini owners and ask them about their opinion
Thereâd be so many less issues if they just did that from the start instead of all this bullshit.
yes, they just covered it with plastic bezel and made it display the new uncovered resolution, which caused literally ALL the screen issues
This whole worry weâre making a better device which you can get for $20 cheaper doesnât sit right with me
This to be honest
so we assume its whole grand conspiracy to screw people ovr by hiding the screentruespecificsâąïž
David already said they're making an affordable DIY fix for the current Minis to get the new 4:3 screen
Even if retroid ceo has to take mortgage another personal property, take care of mini owner first
Ah very good to hear
id rather not assume malice personally
gross stupidity is much easier
that's where i'm at
from what i sa since this forum post
90% commenters assume malice
@vale prism itâs basically this
I don't see malice, I don't get that sense when chatting with David
If they announce that any time from now to Monday, while also immediately delisting the current Mini to make sure people canât buy it before they post the fixed one, alongside acknowledging that they fucked up, then Iâd at least be fine with that, even if Iâd still be hesitant on buying pre-orders.
but mistakes after mistake I do see
Itâs more like incompetence and ignorance
They should slow down and strategize on a logical path forward
Exactly.
Which sounds harsh but given the information we got from retroid thatâs the only thing I see right now
i mentioned a few other places
depending on HOW they get their parts delivered , it would be easy to miss the screen stuff
the above pic is as full a teardown i can find, without prior knowledge, id sooner assume theres screen electronics in the extra space than extra screen
honestly the only way forward for them is IMO
- acknowledge this fuckup
- let anyone who wants to return their Mini at all cost covered
- then they can put up the front panel shell replacement and Mini 8:7 alongside the Flip 2 and Classic for pre-orders, saving themselves a bunch of money on shipping, because they have to send new screens to anyone who keeps their Mini anyway
id also assume they only tested 3d games, which make the scaling issue really easy to miss
But the fake bezels was there this explains of fake bezels especially on the black
I mean for all I care this can only apply to western customers, given how Chinese ones are fucked either way, but they have to fix that or the chargebacks will destroy them
Like, seriously though Stubbs, please make sure to empathize to Retroid (if you can somehow contact them sooner than when they open again) that we literally would rather they cancel the Mini V2 screen to instead focus on fixing the Mini by making it use the actual full 31:27 screen instead of the current âfake 4:3â nonsense, even if it means using most of that $1million on making it right for users and not doing the ânew custom 4:3 OLEDâ.
i disagree
was talking to david until 3am last night
id still like a mini v2 in a couple years đ
that's why I woke up late lol
not NOW, theres no market
i want full 4:3 screen and dont want 31:27 screen ... and i am saying it as someone who mains the mini right now
later
about all the nonsense, which is why i'm surprised to see him continue to talk and seemingly make things worse
They can do it another time, when theyâre in a more financially stable position with next to no risk of mass chargebacks.
Im in the market
we all would, but that's for the future and won't clear this mess
was suggesting many of the solutions you were saying already rns
just trying to understand
With this, theyâre both not fixing the issues and also risking them going under as a business before the new screen could even be made.
100%, not comfortable pre-ordering Flip2/Classic with them potentially going bankrupt over the Mini chargebacks đ
I mean. I might just order a classic in hopes it ships before they go bankrupt đ
Not sure who else is gonna put out a 4" OLED screen for less than $500
Seriously though, they can literally just cancel it for now and focus on fixing Mini 1 issue once and for all, and then if theyâre in a better position, they can at least more easily than now just work on doing the Mini 2 screen afterwards as a form of apology for the whole âlying for at least 2-4 months if not more about a fake screenâ situation.
they can't please the entire community, as they dig themselves deeper by trying
hopping back to the podcast premiere, will be back on later!
I mean, sure we all want the perfect 4:3 screen, but yeah that's far off and won't excuse the bullshit, if they don't acknowledge and fix this issue I can't see myself buying from them anytime soon again, which would be a shame, given how I was pretty excited about the Flip2/Classic
they really should delay those for a month to send them out alongside a fixed Mini / front panels for those who already bought a Mini
They dug their own grave by âtrying to make us happyâ through a fake screen that doesnât actually exist, and then proceeded to destroy the goodwill they had by postponing the problem when people noticed things that were inherently due to it being faked, then pretending itâs a fixable issue.
The only thing they should focus on, before asking for us to be happy with their new things, is actually making things right for the current issues.
Think it's a classic rob Peter to pay Paul scenario. Don't think any of these companies operate in any way where they can just not release stuff and stay profitable
you are still assuming they did this through amlice and whole thing was intentional and looong cover up out fo malice again
So we either kill them now. Or try to right things while continuing and hopefully get cool stuff
if they go down due to postponing the launch of the Flip2/Classic by a month to fix the current issue, they deserve it
Eh. Id rather have them survive and fix things and sell things. And make more cool things
CEO can take out another loan on his property for all I care tbh
Because I frankly donât care anymore whether it was them or the manufacturer, they should have acknowledged the actual problem the moment they knew about it instead of doing this âconstant postponing and pretending itâs solve ableâ. The second they did that, they became an accomplice at best, and fully responsible for the problem at worst.
And if they knew even before they released it, they never should have done it to begin with.
I don't even have a Mini, but this shit isn't putting them into a good light, especially just a few days before launching their new devices
And maybe they'll have to. But if we let every company die that ever released a faulty product or did a bad handling of QC issues, we'd still be maxing out on Nintendo 3DSs
quistion is how much they new about it ... thats all i am saying
especially just a few days before launching their new devices
this is the part i am being sus about
especially how the controversy spurred once again right after chinese workdays
The literal second they were looking into the screens to figure out what was causing the issues, which would require sourcing the schematics.
I dunno. They fucked up. They're taking refunds. Hopefully they'll make sure classic and flip 2 are solid on delivery. And they'll keep providing us with competitive options and alternatives.
I don't want to live in a world where ewaste or Ayaneo are our only options
bold assumption that Ayaneo wouldn't be e-waste
Yeah, which is why I donât want them to fucking kill themselves as a company over an issue they can literally solve just by looking back at their previous solutions to issues, instead of bankrupting themselves to make a new screen people barely even trust is actually happening.
Focusing more on the price segments than the actual quality đ
Yeah. The whole they fucked up they must die mentality is stupid. For us. As consumers
I mean, seriously I doubt any of us would like for Retroid to go down over this, but they have to fix this one way or another and promising a new screen in a year ain't doing it after this revelation
Iâm genuinely not lying when I say Iâm willing to still give them a chance even now, as long as they actually try to take that chance.
Right now their best option would be temporarily taking down the rp mini store page until they figure something out
they wasted Gammas time, that kinda deserves a death sentence in this community
yup ... tho whole thing just reached such a level of toxicity and annoyance for me ... i plan to just step away completely from anything regarding retroid and just t enjoy playing shit on my RPM/5 .... and occationally check out #1266817458417832110 for my doubledpad abomination đ
that should be the very first step, alongside an apology and giving FULL refunds on all returns
The last time anyone wasted cfw devs time was Anbernic literally tricking them into making the firmware for the 353 handhelds and giving them jack shit for actual public source code access.
Still going strong because âbudget handhelds make it fineâ.
Haha. Damn. True
was kidna sahme with the shader stuff ... people were so quick to constantly whine about them not working , but when one wanted to help/recommendations about them ... complete silence and ignorance
That should be the very first step, like Prog4m3r said.
They really should have taken it down last week
already took a lot of pressure to get them to put up the disclaimer
at the very least they shouldn't sell it as it is to international customers anymore, the Chinese have no customer protection anyway
God, ok would it be fine if I used Prog? I hated typing that, but Iâd hate even more to unironically call anyone a âprogamerâ.
do whatever
Prog metal
hot take
they should do nothing right now
anyone who wants to return their mini can already do so
there's no need to fuel the fire otherwise
Look, theyâre already buried. The Anbernic move will literally not help them at this point, they need to start digging themselves out.
It's too late for them to do nothing
cold cynical take
Ultimetly i dont really care about the specific circumstances of the screen , as long as the device fullfills what i need it for and it does đ
and for people that it dont , they can already refund
The fire is already a wildfire.
OR we all just wait for the classic to arrive, before grabbing pitchforks.
Logic doesn't add up
Different products
How does that help with the Mini?
I love it here
two Zus are two too many
Andrew is obsessed with me
Multiple Zu's sound dangerous to the world but incredible for RH Productivity
Who wouldn't be
there is never enough Zus
magicx please recover
we need competition
THIS IS NOW THE ZU MINI V2 CHAT
when can we preorder our Mini Zus?
I think we're given Retroid enough shit
whoever is unhappy with their Mini, contact support and return it
but let's just kinda move on
ZU is working on the preorder site
BE WARNED AND BE READY
Absolutely right
@silent beacon zu might start egg posting if we make him unhappy
zu mini m
incorrect potato chips
idk do we have any zu related non computer chips
but but butt
my pitchforks and torches
who will buy them
Enough shit before their next statement, Iâm afraid that Davidâs gonna fumble the next announcement
the issue with their current return policy is that they don't refund shipping cost and take $35 off for your return, while the 1240x930 resolution clearly got fraudulently advertised as 1280x960, which the panel can't possibly display
if it was done intentionally by Retroid or not doesn't matter, they will have to fully refund western customers or deal with chargebacks
also welp, here the full post of the guy who tore one appart for science: https://bitbuilt.net/forums/index.php?threads/investigating-the-retroid-pocket-minis-display.6845/
A few months ago, some Retroid Pocket Mini users began reporting issues with the Mini's display. Apparently, when using high density CRT shaders, content was not reflecting the advertised 1280x960 resolution of the 3.7" AMOLED panel. Instead, people were seeing an effective vertical resolution...
inb4 communit doxxes david this time and retroid stops communicating alltogether
probably impossible to doxx some Chinese guy who's real name most likely isn't even David
i have seen people do weirder things ... including find a random guy on facebook based on totally undrelated discord handle
If people are pissed off enough and crazy enough then they'll figure it out
ZU MORE EGGS
I don't need that. I have a hyper kin beach coming
this?
or this?
i have a retron5, my honest recommendation is to not
I remember the hype for the retron 5 back when it was first announced, that was something
time has made it not good
it was fine at the time, as long as you had a real controller for it
the included one was ASS
That's was pretty standard for clone consoles of the time , although why they went with a clicky stick instead of a d pad I'll never know
This sweet piece
i had the retro duo portable
similar device
major thing to keep note, dont shake it while playing, it will reset the console đ
its fun tho for sure
their gameboy player is the one i actually recommend people get
i await your dead in one trip review
I'm just imagining those poor controller ports being filled with sand
yeah, Retron 1-3 is okay tho
Retroid Pocket Mini V2: EGGS
đ
Yes, itâs why Iâm currently annoyed at the name change.
c2FsZXNAZ29yZXRyb2lkLmNvbQ==
Why couldnât we do cows again? Or maybe even sheep this time for a different farm animal?
well, I could just remove Stubbs nonsense, as this is my channel
Do it.
Vive la Révolution!
No, itâs Zu time.
The screen issue is not worth all the drama, most people didnt even notice lower res lol. HOWEVER, not releasing it with the full 31:27 screen visible is criminal, I would buy such handheld in a heartbeat, community was begging Retroid to release RP2 with square screen.
The big problem really is that they seemingly lied about it. They covered part of the viewable area and acted the whole time like they didn't and they couldn't find the source of the issue, it was very strange
It is if they knowingly lied to you about the screen you spent your hard earned money on and then lied again to cover it up. It's basically false advertising to make you buy something this isn't.
Could of all been avoided if they just used the entire screen and would look better too without the giant bezels
Oh please, even they didnât do that.
The only thing the community is being blamed for is ignoring the fact some of us were going way too nuts about it, and that is a fair point when we shouldâve all just been calm but firm on the âdemand a refund or for Retroid to not ignore the problem, get a charge back if they continue to ignore thatâ.
to quote 2 comments
"advertising specs that ain't true "
"And pretending they could fix it when they knew it wasnât possible"
all thats known is that retroid is not a trustworthy company
Trustworthy company is oxymoron
lol fair
rpmini users have lost 150 pixels i suppose... for what reason for retroid i do not know, it takes more work to do this hackneyed bs, than just give the mini the full screen...
they just threatened to sue someone for talking about this...
Welp, this is just great.
https://www.reddit.com/r/SBCGaming/comments/1jcnww0/yveltalgriffin_almost_faced_a_lawsuit_for/
Umm well if they said this then that's really not good. It's very bad press but I don't think the company is untrustworthy. They have said they will fix it at great cost
I think they just f'ed up to be honest and obviously didn't check the screen properly during development
they use a custom display driver board and hide the rest of the screen behind a bezel meaning they put extra money into getting this screen like this
A few months ago, some Retroid Pocket Mini users began reporting issues with the Mini's display. Apparently, when using high density CRT shaders, content was not reflecting the advertised 1280x960 resolution of the 3.7" AMOLED panel. Instead, people were seeing an effective vertical resolution...
got the info here
this just seems odd
Considering itâs the community manager and itâs a machine translation, Iâm mostly just annoyed at the fact that this is either their Chinese community manager making things worse, or itâs an inaccurate translation that was taken in bad faith. And that regardless of how much that needs to be addressed, Reddit isnât gonna be doing that.
Hmm, you know I was really trying to give them the benefit of the doubt, but after seeing this I don't think I can defend them anymore
Iâm still gonna wait until we find out if this was a community manager going rogue or a bad translation, but god even Iâm starting to get annoyed at the fact things have literally only ever escalated during the weekend when theyâre not open.
also cant forget the multiple people saying they are banned from retroids discord for discussing this ( even 3+year users)
it gives a shady vibe to retroid even if this is genuinely explainable
Umm just read the link and you have a point; this is indeed not looking good. If they did hide part of the active pixels behind the casing that's pretty shady
Deleted my messages as I was completely wrong; sorry. I'm actually really angry about this now I've read that article.
Yes, that we already know about, itâs what the topic has been for the past 2 days.
And if this is the first time youâre seeing it, then oh god, I do not envy you to be seeing this all at once.
Yes mate; I didn't go back and read the latest! last I heard was from Russ on a YouTube video....
tbh given how people acted in there ... i am surprised they didn ban more
Nah, when youâre harassing the mods (who are not Retroid) for 8+ hours and being a general example of the difference between a âprotestorâ and a ârioterâ, it makes sense.
lol yeah fair enough
guess my point was there was a crossfire of genuinely concerened users there who got yoinked
Russ said something like 'he thinks it's a firmware issue with the controller chip' which is worrying....did he know more....
tbh there is wide range between "genuinely concerned" and straight up withhunt
Yeah I wouldnât doubt that in general. We literally did the same thing with Pope on here. And a shit ton of people acted like it was deserved despite not even knowing what happened, much less who Pope is.
Edit: The everyone was legit hyperbole and I didnât like it.
Well if they have concealed part of the screen behind the case and basically lied then they have zero comeback...they are lucky to not be sued and have to expect a return on every single mini sold
The problem is that Retroid is closed during the weekends, so only community managers are around.
They literally couldnât have a response until Monday if they wanted to, since the main company people are very likely not even aware of it yet (only David was around for like 2 hours).
Well what can they say....do a magicx? Haha
Yeah, thatâs what Iâve been saying. And now all we can do is wait and see what they do on Monday.
They 100% would have known about it from the start. They design and built there devices...this is the worse bit...they can't really claim ignorance...it looks very very very intentional.
We already know itâs actually the LG Wing Bottom screen, that it was never 1280x960 but actually 1240x930, and that theyâve likely either lied about it from the start, or at best found out after researching into the screen to find out what was wrong and then started lying to cover their asses for pulling a completely idiotic move.
Like regardlessâŠyeah, it was intentional, because thereâs literally no situation where they werenât lying about it.
There we go, now youâre on the same page with the rest of us.
The shell would be designed to hold in the screen at the exact size (and hide the pixels) that's the fucked up bit for me...
Yeah, the only real grounds for the âthey didnât know beforehandâ theory is that they were scammed by the screen manufacturers into thinking it was a 4:3 screen with a weird shape for the support components, and even then they shouldâve been suspicious of someone just randomly offering âthe exact perfect solution to what everyone has been looking for, and even AYANEO flat out couldnât findâ.
So yeah, them knowing from the start is the more likely scenario.
not even sean is around
im starving
makes me kinda wonder what it would all required all it would required to cost to do this grand con out of malice (aka the whole proces of hiding the screen and hacking the chip) on retroids part
Ok well this is possible I guess if the screen actually reported as the correct Res with a hacked controller...then that's the only excuse...
Oh no, Iâm agreeing that you were more likely than not correct to assume they were lying from the start, Iâm just explaining what the reasoning some people are using so that you donât get confused later, and also to point out that even in that scenario, they still chose to lie for several months about the problem.
Hopefully now they update the driver chip to 930p
Unrelated but did Retroid stop selling the Pocket 2S ?
Itâs not on the website anymore so did the Mini replace it ?
Was hoping to see a eventual upgraded version
Of the 2S that is
Probably work better if they did...
Now that the lies are uncovered there's no loss
In removing the vaseline
Unless they cant
Worse by the day
You know I think if they just changed the resolution on their store this wouldn't have spiraled into what it is now
1240 by 930p
Sorry guys
Here's a 20 dollar coupon and a driver update
Return if you want
Btw look here at this flip 2!!!
Preorder now!
And that wouldve worked out
Magicx survived
Maybe they could get Shaun or smth
Yeah, no both me and Jeod already consider this guyâs statements to be utterly worthless since heâs a community manager threatening to sue on behalf of a company heâs only a low level employee for, on top of this being a machine translation.
But we also both still agree that the actual situation revolving the screen is bullshit.
Yeah, no Iâm still waiting for Retroid to make an official statement before I fully say âfuck them, theyâre deadâ.
For precisely the same reason why Iâm still only gonna order MagicX stuff if/when a dev like Gamma can verify itâs a good handheld.
Shaun shave ush all
For me; retroid make some of the best retro Android based handhelds you can get. The rp5 is fantastic. Have they f'ed up on the mini and maybe hiding things from the buyer... Maybe.... But this is the first time right?? Everyone is allowed a second chance...
It puts me off buying a mini a little...
rp2, rp3
flip hinge
thats just for chip though
we got subway intel p core for the rest of it
They shipped the rp4 with massive screen issues and didn't bother
Are you the new foreigner?
Stop talking
Dude said foreigner like it was a slur
I'm sure Google Translate is just being awkward but it is funny lol
Like gaijin
Every support ticket should be signed
- The New Foreigner
Same screen in the RP3 and RP3+, they directly did the best they could to fix the ghosting issue (including taking input from Gamma), and we already know the issue was directly due to Mediatek having issues with screens that have odd refresh rates (hence why it was even worse on the Odin Lite).
Yeah, I kind of care about the chip more than the screen, especially when the company does it twice over (where only the current screen issue in particular is whatâs particularly bad since itâs literally a completely different one). Especially when the RP2+ and RP3+ was when they were at their outright best for pro-consumerism in fully offering every individual component for both handhelds for anyone who wanted to replace them.
Iâm fine with MagicX now as long as they continue to send early dev units and prove theyâre good, Iâm just mostly annoyed at Retroid for their absolutely stupid responses.
Yeah, and I had great hopes for them until the Mini M.
Now Iâm just cautiously optimistic in expecting them to stick with the âredemptionâ plan theyâre currently on, and itâs why Iâm still at least giving Retroid 1 last chance for their official response (where theyâll only be at MagicXâs current level and no higher).
idk if one device can spark hope
Of course it doesnât, thatâs why Iâm still only cautiously optimistic with MagicX after the Zero 28.
And itâs also why Iâm, regardless, just flat out not pre-ordering from Retroid anymore and instead waiting for Reviews or Devs to confirm if itâs good, and if their response is in any way bullshit, then Iâm not even bothering with them to begin with.
no i mean you said they you had great hopes till mini m, there was only xu10 atp
Well yeah, that was before they started actually talking with the community to try and do better.
Only for it to happen again.
Literally all they need to do for me is to keep going with the âsend dev units way before pre-orders/regular orders are ever up, so that they can mess with it, provide support, and prove the device is as promisedâ plan, and Iâll be fine with them.
All they need to do for me is release the dual screen
magicx dont do pre orders
raaaaah super sp!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i should really buy the spiderman games
but a friend is harassing me to buy rdr2
but i've already purchased bf 4 and v this sale
I know they donât do it now, Iâm saying even in the future.

Haven't they already spent 1 million on that deal though? Unless they can work something out I don't know that they would want to abandon that
We're so back
I stand corrected lol
Wait a minute, that doesn't solve the wrong resolution, does it?
Not for the original screen no, but for any people that choose to use the classic's screen it will
They're technically the same but yeah
And again, hereâs the screenshot for those without the forward update.
It solves the wrong resolution thatâs being scaled to the screen, since it will be using the actual 1240x1080 resolution.
The mini with the classic screen could be an excellent handheld to be fair
Nearly 1:1
Am I understanding right that they're going to not cover the extra pixels and just run it at the full resolution?
Yes, so basically itâs gonna be a horizontal classic with sticks and a stronger chipset that can handle Saturn.
The RG35XX H to the Classicâs RG35XX Plus.
So⊠does this offer apply to people who have bought the Mini within that timeframe as well? Or only previous purchasers? And will the Mini ever be sold new with the new screen layout?
From what I can tell, it apparently does apply to anyone who buys a Mini as long as you request the classic screen between the times listed.
I am suddenly re-interested in this device
For the ânew miniâs with thatâ, Jigg did ask Joye and is waiting to hear the response back from sales.
Make sure to ask customer support before you order though, just to be completely safe.
I'm really curious if they intend to sell it this way from now on.
And if maybe they touched up the panel to stop the buttons from scraping.
Thanks for updating me man. Iâm not in that server (drowning in servers I canât keep up with already) so I appreciate you guys sharing the news in this one
Well I pride myself in trying to say as much info as possible about the situation, instead of pulling a Reddit and posting only the worst statements for out of context posts.
To the point that I genuinely am fine with people correcting me if I get anything wrong, because me being uncorrected now just results in me looking even more like an idiot later.
I just emailed sales to inquire if a new purchaser could get the screen kit. Iâll share whatever they respond
Good to see Retroid doing the right thing in the end. Sucks that the attached front shell is only in one color but at least people can now have it be a whole and proper screen.
Yup, and unlike what some of us expected to actually happen, they are giving it for free to people who bought the Mini, instead of making it a diy kit weâd need to buy.
Damn. That's legit... The cube upgrade I wanted
they took the old mini out of stock actually, they might be switching them all now
So assuming all new minis sold from now with feature the classic screen??
And I love the way retroid have just completely side stepped all admission of guilt....(unless I've missed something) offering a free screen and front case is nice but it doesn't really solve the underlying 'lying'
ehh i think we did enough winning tbh
i watched that discord the past 48 hrs, its real hard to apoligize to that
this is a good outcome as any
Well; retroid need to explain themselves. No getting away from that....
i think i need a further clarification
i could stomach a "Mini Cube" for a year (the propoesed timeline for the custoim screen) ... but not if it discqualifies me from "discount" or "DYI kit" for Mini V2 custom 4:3 screen
Want
yeah, that's the only part I'm not too happy about, but we won in the end both on our OLED Cube front and getting a 4:3 custom panel seems good enough for now, not saying that we should be less cautious and scrutinizing about their products now than we are with other brands
they probably just dont want to publicely blame anyone .... as i am fairly certain , they just got those "modified lg wing" from whatever the hell i dont know smart freezers ... and didnt do enough testing on them
I mean, technically at least the software guys have worked on fixing the issues, so yeah it kinda could be that they didn't know, but it's honestly not enough of an explanation IMO
i dont think the idea of "retoid intentianally modified and had whole assebbly line to modify the lg wing screens to add weird driver chip and hide all the stuff" is realistic .... they probably just for the set of screens already assembled with everything and just modified the shell to fit them in
it's still a show of complete incompetence that they never pulled the hardware apart to scrutinize the issue tbh
Its not that suprising, still other companies like Powkiddy had much worse QA in the past
I think we need to accept the fact that these companies are a little bit shady đ
yes I also still have nightmares about RGB30 xD
so far i have met the 14th support person who is less helpfull than chatbot
anyway ... decided to request the replacent screen ... even though i probably wont even use it đ (just in case to have spare in case i broke it)
still hoping the "proper 4:3 screen" V2 plan isnt cancelled (but i can buy that in a year if needed )
I hope they will sell the new RPMini with Classic's screen to the new customers as well đ I really like the idea and the aspect ration is so close to 8:7 đ„° Will also be an amazing handheld to play 3DS on (and gamecube/wii with screen hack)
and screen to body ratio will be amazing on this one
tbh i have cube so i am kinda set there đ althougth that one isnt oled
thats true, I just thought that perhaps SD865 is better for 3DS emulation,, but I just checked and T820 is also very good at it
Do you have an oled cube though with the perfect chipset for 3DS/GC/PS2 and Saturn? đ€
probably is , no idea đ Havent played much of the intense 3ds games on the cuve
i just know T820 is quite annoying for ps2 compared to sd865
Wouldâve really liked some official word or accountability on Retroid having seemingly lied about the screen, but the solution they provided for the Mini is better than anticipated
Yeah, I get the point with PS2, everything works out of the box on sd865, on t820 you have to tweak some setting for harder to emulate games
Linux!
I will probably a ly just request the replacement
And probably buy in a year if this V2 happens with real screen
I seem to remember customer support claiming that the mini problem would be fixed.
Can we really trust them
I didn't even buy a mini and I'm still saddened by the situation the mini screen can no longer be used as super SP bottom
Because it doesn't integer wcale
I would still be perfectly happy with the 8:7 one
there was always the "if fixable" unless there was some rogue support guy i havent seen
Give
Ask Retroid, If you already own a Mini you can request it
If not, just wait with me until they sell us some
Iâll wait with you
So has Retroid specified what size and res the custom screen will be ? Like a 4â and real 1280x960
Im all for getting a full LG Wing screen on a Mini but the custom screen might be worth waiting for
Nothing yet
they only said the custom screen is still going to happen
oook send the mail for replacement đ with hopes of them also selling me the black back shell (i have SFC with red back)
still will probably replayce it with proper 4:3 though , if/when it releases
In the USA, we have a saying. "If you believe that, I have a bridge in Brooklyn that I'll sell you."
I just need my 1440p
i also need sell of some of the older unused devices i own
Oh shit they did.
Alright, now thatâs 2 things theyâve done that were the exact right thing we were asking for. Now 1 more to go (actually re-listing the RP Mini with the full proper screen, even if it means making them all have the same black front-plate).
Yeah, and now theyâve got a full scale solution in giving us the full proper screen (with the properly scaled screen as well), and they actually delisted the current Mini so that other people canât get the bad one.
Theyâre actually taking a page out of MagicXâs book, all we gotta do is be on their asses and make sure they stick to it.
But I need integer scaling đ
Donât worry, Joye said the Mini V2 screen is still in the plans for a later date (since it was already expected to be done and ready in at least 12 months if not more, so even if they wait like 1-2 months from now to start, it was still gonna be around a year anyways).
It won't delay the super SP at all
Just one page though
No integer scaling is a much better compromise than the wacky interpolation on the Mini screen they tried to sell though
Dang, still the same button layout, was hoping they might slip in the 5's to stop the scraping.
Yeah, we need to make sure they keep taking more.
Once they start sending dev units way earlier than pre-orders and review units, then theyâll have reached the level of trust I need to actually be semi-comfortable ordering batch 1 assuming they meet the required parameter of âthe dev directly says itâs as advertised and is legit goodâ.
This actually looks beautiful and 100% would of bought day 1
Itâs what I would have preferred even if I didnât know the 4:3 screen was a lie.
I was genuinely one of the people hoping for an OLED Cube, and I even was recommending the 3.1â 720x720 OLED panel from the BlackBerry Q10 to hopefully get it (since I didnât expect people to find the LG Wing Bottom Screen for cheap).
I just also liked the 4:3 screen enough to be interested in it.
I messaged sales about whether new customers could also claim the free screen, but they either misunderstood or dodged the question.
I sent a follow-up email asking whether if I purchase a Mini from Ali Express I could still claim the screen kit. Imagine I wonât hear back on that till later tonight
Well yeah, theyâre currently working on making the replacements for previous owners first and actually already marked the original Mini as âsold outâ so that people canât order more, so I imagine they got confused by the âif I order one nowâ part since you technically canât even do that.
Unless their AliExpress page is still up, in which case Iâm just gonna go ahead and let them know that now.
I think the link on their actual website was still up when I originally asked
HmmâŠWell regardless, Iâd just recommend waiting until they say anything fully concrete about future orders.

We full concern. We future help maybe?
CS always fun
Or from other sellers on aliexpress?
Yeah. Id you can't buy them from secondary and get the upgrade I'm out
In the current sale thereâs like about 15% off one too
I have one in my basket for ÂŁ150
Yeah. I've been watching as well. Heh
Dang the ones Iâm seeing are basically full price or more. Coupon will help but itâs not that much better
I say this knowing full well I shouldnât buy one, I donât need it
Some coupons to consider :

So is this thing dead now that they are doing front housing screen replacements?
It seems like theyâre still making the other screen too, which seems like a waste and a huge risk for no reason
Not a waste at all
oh jesus that looks so much better
A bespoke high resolution 4:3 screen could make them a lot of money, not just in their own products
There aren't a lot of 4:3 options left in the world now that 16:9 took over
If they're doing their own screens I just realized they could bring back big ol 5:3 screens that are even better for scaling :O
You're talking about a company that risked their pants to market 4:3. I don't think they are going to go above and beyond trying to sell the benefits of that ratio to the lowest common denominator.
Magicx has jt
We know now that they do
The moo40
Any info about hardware?
We probably won't hear anything about this for months yet, It's a completely new device and was probably at least a year out when it was announced.
All we know is they're making a new screen for it and that takes time
"Our goal is to incorporate this new screen into a redesigned version of the Mini, with a potential launch window within the next 12 months. We do not have an exact launch window to share at this moment because we do not want to overpromise to our customers on a complex undertaking."
They directly said that it would take at least a year if not more for the screen and/or screen device to be ready.
Itâll be a long while before we get any new info.
sad ...
that is of course if we are talking about the long term v2
now the (potential) short term v2 with the square screen is another story
ceo mortgaging his house to fund a screen development whilst the US is collapsing and trying to tarriff everything does not bode well :(
concern aside, I would purchase this device
you act like the US is the center of the world
most devices will be sold domestically
US may have been the second biggest market up until now, because you guys didn't have to pay 20% tariffs on these things, but ya ain't the entire world, Europe, Australia, heck even Japan will continue the Retro Handheld hobby uninterrupted
a 4.5 inch 4:3 rp mini might be endgame
they will sell them to people outside the US and life will go on
these companies can 100% survive without US sales
no but it's still a bit margin hit for these small firms that need everything
i think you two've americanized me a bit, don't put words in my mouth lol
I mean sure, but the screen of the Mini V2 is intended to be used with multiple devices in the future so welp
also who knows if by the end of this year or start of the next the tariff situation won't be completely different again
sure, that'd be great, I just hope none of this backfires because that's never a good financial idea
you do this to capitalize on something big
not when there's an economic crisis
hopefully the current US government just simply gets overthrown or some christmasland shit
not gonna happen
heck, Trump would probably be re-elected if Dems keep acting like they do... not that he could be given the term limit
tariffs are going to be unpopular across his base as well
he will lose support rapidly if doesn't backpedal
unpopular sure, doesn't means his base will suddenly agree with the other side
politics is unfortunately the game of electing whomever you deem to be the least shitty
I guess so, depends on how bad it gets
if we are talking full blown recession in a couple years then anything is on the table
doubt it's going to get that far and the toys this hobby is about, ain't essential
Downside of two party system
And its always fascinating that usually the biggest unutjob among them wins
you say that like multi-party bullshit would yield different results
It used to be fine here , where you voted the party and their program , but recently they basically otarted copying the US style " cult of personality" populism nonsense heavily pushed through social media and old people chainmails ..... and I am not counting the strong "infromation war" basicall funding both extremes
Will be "fun" in the fall
I mean, this ain't the right server for this discussion, but here you can elect whatever, they will form a big juicy coalition against the ever growing opposition and that's that, all the same bullshit regardless of what you vote
I generally think you have to be extreme case of psycho/sociopath to even become a politician
most of them are just greedy fucks that want those juicy 10grand a month
- a bunch of extra money they pocket
and you can sit in federal as well as state parliaments simultaneously if elected
being a minister gives even more money
Oh that's not a thing here, it's either or
and we had some insufferable brats that did stupid tiktok videos in parliament the last time
one that got infamous for not being able to fuck around due to COVID restrictions
I mean we basically managed to get a meme party built on "cars and hookers" into europarliament pretty much through tiktok videos
And all they do is titkok videos from EP about eating fancy food and vote like russian puppets
god so many stupid tiktok videos and you could watch her getting fatter and fatter, so COVID wasn't the reason anymore for not being able to fuck around
we have "The Party" here that is also just some left-wing joke sitting in on the EU parliament... which in itself isn't something to take serious, big lobby group with the building where they get bribed right next to it
Reminds me of my old highschool friend (to be on topic , one i sold bunch of my old handhelds to ) who managed to get into regional council (basicslly the one level below state parliament here) who tried to do things right
And he ended up being taken down by his own party cause he was too honest and tried stop some suspicious "side deals" he found in the data there
European democracy is honestly in a dire situation, regardless of what people want the "ruling class" is pulling whatever they can to continue as they have. French taking the passive right to be voted on from the opposition leader, while Germany implemented a law to take it from those to be convicted of "incitement to hatred". This all ain't going to play out well.
I mean we are getting into 30s again
And humanity is incapable of learning from mistakes
yeah, but the question is in what way history will repeat
will they push too far to keep their power or will the pendulum swing back too hard
Worst part is that we are too attached to Germany industry wise ... so what happens there will influence us in a big way too
our industry is fucked tbh, this ain't going to work much longer
energy prices are skyrocketing, taxes and regulation get hiked up again and again and wages are so stagnant that people are quitting left and right... while the minimum wage is supposed to be 15⏠soon, so nobody will want to work for that kinda money
I always found it funny how your minimal wage is way higher than our median wage
I mean I get that it sucks for people to work for like sub-10âŹ/hour, but raising it at the speed it's currently going up just makes everyone's wages shit
5years ago an industry worker had 2-times minimum wage at least, now it's like 1.3-times
Lol even my manager has less than that
and a lot of jobs that made above minimum wage and required a proper training are already just "minimum wage" aka nobody wants to do them anymore level
Anyway seems like my Mini screen still not shipped
Retroid really needs to sell the revised Mini with the full screen, I want one now
They probably will some time after the replacements are sorted out , given thee recent video of SFC colorway
hopefully, it would be really close to be my ideal device
For me mini is already is my daily driver ... still haven't decided if I will even use the new screen ... as I don't really want A13 and barely even notice the issues ... as well as I find the android setup process absolute pain
Maybe I will just finish what I already started and replace it after
1:1 supremacy
well this is technically 32:27 so not 1:1 but close enough with Linux

I should maybe just go in and try rocknix given flash is required
But not fond of recopying my 512gb SD card to do it
I dunno about you, but as someone who actually does live here, literally everyone who isnât MAGA that I know about actually has been showing either pro-Democrat sentiments or âPro-Republican but also outright anti-Trump as an individualâ.
I have seen way too many "leapards eating people faces party" kind of post on socials
Yup, a lot of people who arenât in denial of the tariffs being bad have just been complaining about how âthey never saw this comingâ, despite the guy literally talking almost nonstop about how he was gonna be doing exactly that during his campaign.
Might need to ask my classmate for science ... he basically built a company on selling European windows in US ... makes me wonder what tarrifs are doing on his company
the superiority of European windows
always amazes me how excited Americans can get over these and our shutters
I live in California and work at an EV tech company and not a single person I know flipped in favor of the Democrats. We are involved in global trade and manufacturing and understand the long-term goals of the terrifs so that may be causing a bias here.
It really is dependant on environment. I'm sure some circles are the complete opposite.
I know, hence the extra bit on âpeople who are still Republicans but are against Trump as an individualâ since at least half of the economists I know, both professors and students alike, fucking hate the guy since heâs taking something that can actually be rational and even reasonable, but instead is going nuts with it, alongside that whole bit where he used it to blatantly manipulate the stock market.
What is him going nuts with it, like Chinese tariff are just too high? And you are saying he blatantly lowered the stock market intentionally for some type of personal gain?
Oh, did you miss that whole bit where he actually went to Twitter and said âhey, stock is great to get into right now, itâs really cheapâ to his followers literally before he announced the pause on tariffs to other countries?
Thatâs not even getting into the part where heâs actively being ridiculously flippant on it and effectively going back and forth on either doing it or not doing it with zero actual commitment currently, so the economy has currently been going through the world-wide equivalent of âIâm gonna punch youâŠha, made you flinch, Iâm not gonnaâŠor maybe I will!â
"To his followers" well, technically to everyone. I personally don't see that as proof of intent of trying to dip the market. I can see criticism of him not making statements on when to buy or sell stocks though. Id agree he shouldn't have said that
I think he is trying to negotiate and or intimidate a big player to cut a deal with us. We'll see how it plays out. All I know is that as Americans the only way we can lose this trade battle is internally. The voters pressuring Trump to retreat and give up is the only way America can lose because China needs us as a buyer more than we need them as a manufacturer.
ill just make all the things we bought from china in all the factories we have, oh wait....
ok lets build some new ones, how long to do that? oh a decade, well shit......
so at any rate, we will be buying that stuff from china or someone else for the next decade or so
and thats IF incentives get passed out to actually move/make factories HERE
because otherwise other countries are still cheaper to make stuff in
companies will just play tariff roulette and move to india or whatever just like apple already did
Well if you are arguing against someone making the position that all manufacturering will magically come to America then yeah, it's very easy to dismiss the Trump tariffs and say why bother.
But if you are not a fan of the fact that nearly all major countries have disproportionately larger tariffs on the US than we have on them (when you include tariffs, plus vat, plus fees, plus blocking items under "sorry they don't meet our regulations") then I find it very hard to argue for the previous status quo. If the Trump tariffs lead to some other countries backing down and allowing free trade, then that's great.
Uncomfortable fake laughing is how perpetual onliners concede. I'll take it
actually i was laughing at your take rather than advocating for anything other than the current ass backwards one that will cause issues the entire world over
most of the world simply doesn't considers whatever you guys eat as food, sorry to say, we don't want that garbage here
but keep your tariffs, it's unfair we have to pay import taxes on everything and you guys got away without them for so long
but i used the emoji to be polite instead of calling it out that it was stupid
You used an emoji cause you're a coward and can't address what I said đ€·đœââïž
ill say again, with what factories shall we make things?
with what training shall the people who wanted this make those things in those imaginary factories?
the tariffs solve nothing
because again, they wi8ll just move to india or somewhere else
and youll still have no factories
I agree, it's not an overnight solution. Everything will not move to America overnight. I never said that, no one ever said that. That's simply a strawman
It's takes time, it's about the long term moving things in a better direction
so tariffs plus cutting local subsidies equals factories in your imaginary world, got it
won't work with the US, next democrat reverses the tariffs and everyone moves to China again, cuz it's cheaper
Why do all countries do it then? And how come they had tariffs greater than ours? Apparently the entire world disagrees with this take that tariffs do not provide any benefit to a country
only works to protect existing industry, if you don't have it nor the know how... good luck
those countries both tariff AND subsidize
the subsidizing is the key here
without it, you just move somewhere cheaper
until the US is cheaper, we get nothing
its really easy to understand that
even "funnier", we cut all the programs that improve workers rights all over the world including our own
you complain about workers rights in china or elsewhere, but we just cut literally the entire deptartment that handles helping improve those
honestly? meddling in other countries with your tax payers money should be forbidden
my government is also paying for bicycle paths in Peru and energy saving fridges in Africa, like that would make any sense
Never said that, I don't have interest in arguing against strawmen. Maybe ask an honest question
ehhhh 1940s..... something something....
What worker's rights did we cut? Also I don't see how this is addressing the main topic but I want to know
3rd times the charm đ«Ą
i would suggest googling the erosion of workers rights in the US as well as what USAID actually does/did, cuz i aint got 23412342 hours
for an example tho, there was already a bill submitted to remove OSHA, which is our main worker safety gov body
please lemme know if you wanna work a steel mill that isnt even close to OSHA compliant
We lack the expertise in certain fields of manufacturing because it makes no sense for those people to set it up here. We have very little prospects with selling various goods globally when you are on the short end of the tariff stick around the world so why set it up here? You can set up manufacturing literally anywhere else and still have almost no barrier to the US market because the US wasn't matching the other countries imposed tariffs
- Before the Trump tariffs the above comment applies. If you are going to lose access to the largest market in the world, people would more strongly consider America as the place to set up manufacturing
And yes, it takes years to reverse this stuff
the trade deficit is just such a fun thing to complain about
especially when it comes to food and cars
because you guys don't produce any food
and most of your cars are simply to big for roads outside of the US
Yes, I'd rather have an example. My understanding is that nothing of significance to workers was actually cut but I am not reading through every Elon doge report so I may have missed something of significance. if I did I am open to hearing it.
So your example of an important workers right that was already cut is something that is proposed in a future bill?
The problem with the solution is that it actively requires this stuff be ready in advance for it to have any actual incentive bargaining. As-is, corporations are actively among the âinside struggleâ you referred to earlier.
And, you know, actively having to back down because you never actually bothered to prepare in advance for it, so the US customs services got utterly swamped and were caught unprepared.
Gotta get going, i know there were a lot of comments I couldn't get to but I appreciate the discussions @worthy depot
I wanted to just make a statement I think encapsulates the pro reciprocal tariff position. If the other side accepts that all countries engage in tariffs because it helps protects their existing industry, then how can you expect a country to ever build an industry without protecting it? That's what has happened, we didn't protect many industries and lost them. Now, we are told don't bother tariffing/protecting your industries because you have none. We have none because they have no protection. It's just all circular logic to me to justify why we should never join the rest of the world in trying to protect our manufacturing industries the same way they have and do.
Problem with that is that thereâs a catch-22 involved in the mindset of âprotecting something before you built itâ in that you canât protect an industry without having the blueprints or plans on how to make it.
The tariffs were set up without any actual formal plans in mind, and especially without any preparation on how to actually enforce them, hence the chaos that was occurring at Customs and postal services when he first tried implementing them without letting them actually have any formal training to get ready for that kind of measure.
Thereâs already going to be massive issues in trying to enforce an industry that doesnât exist yet, them not even knowing how to handle enforcing it in the first place only makes it even worse.
But we do have it in many regards. I work with a manufacturing expert that operates as a liaise to Chinese manufacturing. For example, my guy helped me set up plastic bottle blow moulding tooling in China. He does everything in China because he can work with clients anywhere in the world including the US. He lives down the street from me in LA...
He's here, he knows how to do it all but it makes no sense in the world for him to try and move the production here for all of the reasons discussed over this conversation. Id expect if tariffs don't end soon and this stuff is forced to set up in America to fulfill the American market, this guy is probably going to become extremely rich because he knows everything about how to set up manufacturing.
That is an anecdote about there being experts who already live here because everyone likes living here but what isn't an anecdote is that the market demand for something would very quickly attract the expertise. i wouldnt worry about that the lack of "know how" to much. If it became viable to manufacture here, the experts won't pass up the opportunity to become rich in a vacant industry
the entire point of the "convo" was that you need to make it viable BEFORE you tariff/protect is
tariffs wont make it viable on their own and never have
âŠYeah, Iâm not even gonna bother getting into the fact that this completely ignores what I just said about how they donât have any plans or prep for even enforcing those. Iâm just gonna go ahead and bow out now so that we stop breaking the rules on that.
why is it always retroid chats lmao
carry on, just gonna make sure it doesn't get out of hand... again
I donât even know.
What is there to respond to? What are you even talking about with "blue prints"? thats just a nebulis talking point that is to vague to address. It's not rocket science to make blow moulded water bottles, in fact there's tons of information out there on exactly how to set up the manufacturing. Or the secret blue prints on how to make Nike shoes? All of this stuff has been done in America so the idea that it is impossible knowledge that we could never figure out is actually laughable. This is just a talking point that's impossible to disprove without getting super into some nitty gritty niche details on "we need to do exactly this and this" no, the market will solve it if there is money to be made.
Like, todayâs was already started from a reply to one of my comments fromâŠholy shit, 12 days ago.
âŠYeah, Iâm guessing youâre still ignoring what I said.
Go ahead then
Iâm not repeating myself.

On either of these comments.
Ahh okay, so I didn't miss it, you just wanted the last word.
No, I just get sick and tired of getting reply pings, and end up finding myself in a feedback loop where I forget to turn off my own reply pings until I eventually just give up on proper discord-replying entirely and do this.
Edit: beat me by a second
looks like it's over now
It already shouldâve been 12 days ago.
At one point or another Iâve gotta remember to just turn off discord pings.
I agree let's just move on
Thought there was some news on this đą
my american consoom dreams are over đ
no longer held in envy by our oversea peers due to ease of consoom
The point is to make the whole world better for everyone, so you can trade with that rest of the world
It's not circular because tariffs arent the tool to get it started.
That's called a subsidy.
He's playing it wrong, and the voter pays

yeah this ain't exactly the V2 this is about
oh
Retroid Pocket Mini V3 (lol)
this V2 is the solution we forced Retroid into after the whole screen mess came public, it's the uncovered 31:27 screen from the LG Wing, which they also used in the Classic
it looks so much better than the kneecapped 4:3. But at this point, I gotta wait to see what the 6 and mini v3 will be like
before that they announced a custom made 4:3 panel, so we will probably see another attempt at a 4:3 Mini alongside the RP6
the CEO's second house will be mortgaged for the 4:3 panels
Oh they decided to actually sell them??
Need
Sold out
if not we would have had to find someone working for Retroid and break his legs
yeah like every listing that is new and not for sale yet
Oh good, I had thought that I had already missed out because thatâs just the kind of week Iâm having lol
are we still sure they're gonna go through with this?
last thing they said about it was at least that the screen was still a thing, despite the more immediate solution to the current Mini
(which we successfully bullied them into)
Did it sell out or they just havenât put it up for sale yet?? Iâm really hoping the latter!
They just havenât put it up, I was overthinking it
My dream of an all black rp mini v2 is still alive
Buy my Xbox so I can afford it
