this guy has been dumping a lot of these types of things so they can be emulated
Dang that's cool
This Zelda watch is nuts https://x.com/OneBitOnePixel/status/1873762221760946215
he still lacks a scannerz if anyone wants to send him one
I never had a Tamagotchi but I did have a Giga Pet. I'm pretty sure it was yellow and it was a bird. I don't remember it being Tweety but this is the only one I can find that matches what I remember
I also had a Digimon Digivice D-3, like this one. I wish I still had it. Shame they are so expensive now (around $140 on ebay).
It was like a pedometer and the more you walked, the more your digimon grew. I think you could battle other ones too? I don't remember exactly. I remember shaking it on the ride to school so I could get a lot of "steps" in and help him grow. 😂
I had this in 2nd or 3rd grade. one of my classmates had the Mario one. His mom was the librarian so before school we would hang out in the library & play each others watches
pretty sure that got dumped lately and theres a core in the works to play all those LCD games
Getting my Tamagotchi Paradise this week 👀
How did you end up liking it? I got big into tamagotchi this year
About to start running the IDL
It's pretty fun! I like it more than the Uni but I think I've finally accepted I just like the Digimon vpets more
Something about the battles and evolution trees
I used to have a tamagotchi a long time ago and i want to get another one for the nostalgia. What one would you guys reccommend?
If you're interested in a non-color screen device for the nostalgia factor, your best bet is one of the connection or angel re-releases because bandai is still putting out a ton of cute shells of both of them, and they're basically ports/slightly upgraded versions of their original devices
If you're interested in color screen, your best (and currently being produced...) options are the Tamagotchi Paradise or the Uni. Both have their pros and cons! The paradise is a chiller experience, makes the tamagotchi more wild-life-y and has cute gene mixing mechanics so the children inherit traits of their parents. The downside is the device itself is pretty bulky and toy-y, but I still like it
The Uni is a whole different beast because it has stuff like wifi and DLC. Really compelling if you're interested in a ~modern~ tamagotchi experience, and the game is more like raising a kid in an apartment and sometimes connecing to VR to go to the mall. There's semi-monthly online events and all the DLC makes it more "content rich" but there's rumors of bandai discontinuing the servers within a year or two so.... ymmv
Thank you so much for the detailed explaination!
Im thinking maybe start with either the connection or angel and then maybe going for the uni once i start really getting into it again!
Is there much difference between the connection and the angel series?
hmm, I think the basic gameplay loops are pretty similar! It might depend on what shell you like the most or how much you like the roster... the connection has more adult characters I believe
Thank you so much! Ill do some research into them haha
Are knock-offs decent? I was thinking of getting a virtual pet but I don't want to spend too much money
