#Retroid Pocket Flip 2 (Cows Ascended)
1 messages · Page 24 of 1
Well there goes my stage dancing dreams
like if you grip and it take your thumbs and press, does the plastic flex?
no flex on the body
ok, then it might just be the clear plastic being a bit flexi
Probably depends on force applied too
in the middle if I press very hard it slightly flexew
check it
All plastic will flex if you push it hard enough
So hard to see. His hands are wobbling around
GC is solid thick plastic
There's def some flex tho
Feels strong, can't speak to the other colors
same amount as the gold standard android clam, GPD XD 😄
same as watermelon flip 1 feels lke
So people have mentioned putting retroid pocket 5 stick caps on the flip 2 but where do you even get retroid pocket 5 stick caps?
I mean switching out the actual sticks
I see 🤔
So far, unboxing videos have only instilled more faith for me in the flip 2
How is the drop test? Does the screen crack?
My 3 year old will let us know 😂
Update: I filmed a drop test (which was painful) straight onto my desk on the screen aside and also from the body side
Screen side*
Screen did not break, will be in tomorrow's vid
Might publish tonight if I can get through the rest of editing quick
Now do it on ur actual unit u paid money for
I just want a screen protector test; to see if it still closes with a screen protector attached
Poor thing
The clearance is there yeah, they didn't include one though
Would the clearance be enough for a glass screen protector or is it clearance for the sticks + buttons you think?
Sticks maybe, you can lower that clearance a bit by swapping in the RP5 sticks, but, looks like a regular glass protector would fit without creating a gap
Thank you for the input!
We'll know better with more time and people try stuff
Oo good to know. Thanks!
@blazing burrow Your videos actually get me interested in GPD XD Plus.
I love the flat design. Might get one if I can find a good secondhand. Can if play PSP games? Not sure about its performance since it’s so old.
I remember seeing the GPD XD Plus back in the day, but I resisted as I was still pretty attached to my OG NVIDIA Shield Portable at the time and hoping they would make a new one someday... would still love a new iteration of that design in fact 😅 could only fit in large cargo pockets, but it sure did feel nice and was good in its time
As the flip 2 will actually be easier to take places and carry more often, I'm just hoping it feels ok to me though I'm sure some ergonomics are lost to pocketability.
I have played hundreds of hours on n3DS XL. Flip 2 should be more ergonomic than that just based on it being thicker so I am fine.
So it’s about the same as H700/RK3566?
Iirc yea
It can run some psp games at 2x but still struggles with God of War at 1x, so maybe slightly more powerful but by not much. https://youtu.be/ft2P0kaWN24?si=0SyRHU6e-5Chipdj
This is a reupload of "Is the GPD XD Plus worth it in 2021?" video I made a while back on a different channel. I am just updating the title in the process because whatever I say about the device still stands, except that there are even more options available to you now

Also the screen is miles worse than flip 2. OLED vs a 7 years old LCD is no competition.
Russ got the GC color too and the first impressions video should go out anytime.
I hate myself for being so easily enamored with new gadgets... I have the RP5, sold the Odin 2 to have a better screen and smaller form factor, but the flip looks really nice 😖
you have fallen into the classic handheld bug 😄 the flip 2 is the clamshell form factor, so dont blame you wanting one ^^
And the Classic has a nice booty... 🥹
That's unavoidable... I am trying to control myself. I am three months in with two 60 bucks devices so I am feeling ok. Flip 2 will be my first "expensive" one.
To be fair I usually spend more buying games so I don't feel too bad
I think my newest handheld is the Brick and before it came RG34XX
I got the RP5 before the two
So there's been some break for a while now
But I also bought a new phone and my cat is terminally sick it seems...
Would love to hear feedback if anyone has tried any Bluetooth headphones with the RPF2 and if there's any noticeable lag.
The latter is now more important to me than anything else, so will see... I do keep my mind off dark thoughts with some retro gaming though
Yeah I remember we talked quite a lot with 34xx. That was my first.
Sorry for you
Thanks
Hopefully you can distract yourself with some comforting games
Well... Cookie Cutter maybe helps me release some anger that comes with it 😅
I hear you ❤️ i find gaming helps that quite a bit
Wow didn't expect I love how GBA games looking on flip 2. May replace my 34xx for it already.
Overall I think the blackbars for 4:3 and 3:2 content looking pretty good here. OLED plus the top being almost 100% the screen help a lot
Better than RP5 imo.
yeah i’m watching joeys reaction stream and despite his concerns about the plastic it seems like the ergonomics are great, i would love to have one of these to blast through any rpg on the go
Yup. I think I am going to order soon, just waiting for Russ's first impressions video which hopefully will go live in a few hours
GBA + OLED is the main reason I'm getting the Flip 2
I thought it would look too big but the size looks great. Not even sure if I would get 34XX SP if the rumor turns out to be true.
Does the folding angle of flip2 is same as old flip ?
I always find that the angle of old flip is quite painful for me
can you usually do mods to make buttons quieter?
What's the funny website y'all use to compare handheld dimensions?
With those 3d boxes and stuff
Size / ergonomics and hinge seem to be safe.
I hated the Ice Blue shell , specially on Joey's video. Going for the GC , just preordered it
Compare features, performance and specifications of gaming handhelds, and visualize the size difference between handhelds
?
Do you even sleep?! Thanks for your service
I drop tested 4 times and left in the harshest 2 drops in the vid
It has survived
If the GC one survived the hinge test you did on the live , it will survive anything 😅
Not on retroid review day I don't 😂
Nooooo i can't watch that 😅
It became a meme
But need to switch gears back to my day job after this upload and get some sleep for it
It's definitely too big on a Odin 2 (4.7" integer scaled) for me. So this would be nice. I feel. Integer scaled on the RPF2 is 4.3"
I thought you do this full time. Real respect.
Not quite, I was looking for https://comparesizes.com/, but thanks still!
oo now i need to check this out
I've regularly seen people post screenshots from that site to compare handheld sizes
Retroid basically made everything that most people wanted for a flip 2 even though they were pretending we manifested it. And when I helped with making the ChatGPT summary I had no interest in this device but now I am 99% sure I am getting one, just waiting to see a few more first impressions, especially from Russ.
This one has more corporate devices but not many retro handhelds (if any)
I love this website. Hope they add a few more corporate devices like 3DS
You can input custom devices manually, that's fit for my use case. I was looking to compare the size of the Flip 2 to my phone
👉Stubbs is back with a First Look at the RP Flip 2 and gives his first summarized thoughts after having the device for about 6 hours now (sent from Retroid for review), this time doing drop tests and all kinds of dumb things. If you don't want to watch our 3 hour livestream, this is for you!
Although if you want to see more in-depth testing ...
Nope. Should have said 'I left my wife for this'
My wife wanted to come to bed last night, but I was up late prepping for the stream so I had her side of the bed covered in clamshells, true story 😂
I felt bad, she fell asleep in our son's room
That should be the new title
Oh damn. Maybe it'll be 'My wife left me because of this'
Sounds fair 😅
@blazing burrow wish the drop test was on the side or corner
This is nearly end game device but wished it was SDG2 for perfect PS2 no tinkering emulation as well as 120hz for low input lag gamestreaming. We maybe another 2 years away from that
let’s be real. zu manifested it. on his own. one handed.
I am sure by then you wish it can run PS3 and Switch games well. End game device is a moving target
It’s already end game for me. Easy to pocket and bring around, OLED screen. I can’t see myself upgrading to a future successor unless they swap the sticks and d-pad/ABXY buttons around.
you WANT the sticks down there?
Endgame is a phone that opens up to reveal it's actually a clamshell gaming device.
🙃
Most, if not all of the games I play on these handhelds are d-pad based. I don't care about sticks
Personally prefer separating phone and gaming device
For one, I don't need to worry about the battery
Run out of battery for a gaming device is annoying but fine
But runnig out of battery on your phone is very inconvenient
I genuinely only really use phone features of my phone like once a month at best
The rest of the time it's just something I have for internet access
Good for you. I use my phone as a phone, browser, wallet, ID, music player, banking, etc etc
My handhelds, I use for gaming and streaming shows/movies
👉Stubbs is back with a TLDR First Look at the RP Flip 2 (sent from Retroid for review) and gives his summarized thoughts after having the device for about 12 hours now, this time doing drop tests and providing thoughts since the livestream ended. If you don't want to watch our 3-hour livestream, this is for you!

Stubbs already posted[ ](#1336037750889250960 message)
Yeah, saw after I posted it. I got notified by Youtube right before I posted, so I assumed it was uploaded just then as opposed to the notification merely being late
On a journey to play celeste on rpflip2 without switch emulation
It looks so uncomfortable for the thumbs. Why not place the sticks in the center instead?
Personally I will use this device for stick centric games so I like the control placement. And so far it seems most YouTubers find dpad centric games are decent as well. Is this the best placement for dpad games, absolutely not but is this dealbreaker, probably not
I’m actually kind of excited for this one.
Dpad being inset should help with the ergo quite a bit

Finally
In all honesty, there will never be a consensus on where "things should go". Depends on hands size, taste, muscle memory, a desire to not adapt, etc.
Besides, sticks down for example can get in the way of the buttons, I have seen people complain about that for the rp5
The most it can be done is provide options to choose by having different styles of device
Another one
Ordered! Nothing surprising from Russ's first impression but that's a good thing.
Cool
I wonder how many carrying cases they are going to wind up selling for the flip 2. For me the whole point of a clamshell is that you dont have to have a case for it to protect the screen.
I always order a case alongside the device... you know, just in case
Yeah, obviously nothing wrong with ordering them, just seems less useful for a clamshell.
the only clam allowed to collect battle scars is the silver rg35xxSP
The discount code is still active?
I think it will be for a few days still
Man, listening to Russ discuss the flip 2 is so much easier on the ears compared to the other folks. I understand the average person into these things is of that culture, but it really bugged me when Stubbs and his friend could not stop making sexual references throughout their stream.
I guess it's also produced video vs livestream.
I mean, you can comfortably use offset sticks on the bottom right?
No reason why you couldn't comfortably use offset dpad/buttons on the bottom either.
The distance is actually shorter than on a controller since controller wings fan out.
With the controls being high up/it having a considerably tall chin it looks like the Flip 2 will mostly rest in your palms so it should be fairly comfortable.
until they start shipping or fullfill all pre-orders, idk
Also how tired were Stubbs and co. when making their livestream, people tend to get goofy if they had a busy day and on top of it all streamed for a fer hours.
I could see that
First impressions seem pretty positive, overall.
Yea I’m not a fan of that humor😅
Anyone do a teardown yet?
I would love to see how difficult it would be to swap the buttons out for a Black or White GC color scheme.
I don't think I will use the carrying case daily. It's only used when I need to put it in a backpack or luggage for traveling.
Yes it's still active, but don't know for how long. This is one of the reasons I order right away after watching all the first impressions videos
GC gang!!
GC gang!
There should be an emoji for GC gang
There is an indigo flip 1 but anyway I don't have nitro.
Actually that's from Retroid discord
Want a gamecube logo sticker to put on top of the pac-man thing
Ice blue gang
Bruh
No reactions at all? What happened to ice blue gang? Have they all be converted after the first impressions?
I actually like how it looks on Joey's video
But still prefer gc
What?
I can assure you I have not been converted lol
Im in the icea blue gang! Also ordered a teal classic so I am deep in the blue.
I'm not looking in here all the time
Lol nope
Icy blue gang gang
That was genuinely funny on stream. Dude was like “sorry I have skill issue”
But it’s not that it’s difficult per say, Stubbs just didn’t have the right tools
The neck on his screwdriver was too large
Those screws are pretty inset
||Everything should be IFixIt compliant||
So in around a week we'll get more deep reviews right? I will wait for that then, although it looks solid all around so I hope there are not surprises
Yeah and probably first impressions of the classic too in case you want to order the bundle
I was thinking about the bundle with $30 discount but then I don't really need a vertical
I thought about it, but I don't see myself using both, specially since the flip feels like "all" I needed for one of these devices currently
But I'll see what the opinion is for it
Yeah, honestly dont see myself using the classic much for games, but I will use it for music and audiobooks.
can play some stardew or an rpg on my breaks if I want but mostly just going to use it to try and use my phone alot less.
No because for Switch i have a modded Switch OLED. For these cheaper android devices I'm only looking to emulate up to PS2, Wii, GC and have 120hz for lower input lag. Even 3DS doesn't interest me as I have a modded New 3DS
I forgot how good 4:3 games look on a Flip device. The black borders just look like bezels on a 3DS or DS
Yeah it looks really awesome. I was mainly planning to play 16:9 games or with wide screen hacks but I actually don't mind the black bars for 4:3 at all.
Is there a 100000 open and closed video yet?
a bit too soon for that I think
Damn it i pulled the trigger and preordered. I was going to wait for 120hz screen if there was a Flip 3 etc but that may not happen
Odin 2 portal flip
This being the first actually pocketable PS2 device that's not garbage like RP Mini made me pull the trigger
2 Portal 2 Flip
you are years away from a flip 3 probably
I just put my new 3ds xl in my pocket to see if its manageable and to be honest it isn't too bad
Wait for flip 4
Well I guess I'm officially a retroid fanboy~ just otdered a flip2 to round out my collection pre-tariffs...
I wouldnt be surprised if ALOT of people are ordering these two in preparation for them being the last handhelds they order for awhile given the new tarrifs and seeming economic freefall.
I can also use it as a youtube player for my kids when I'm out eating lunch and not propping up my phone to a glass cup lol
Odin 2 portal flip is happening it has to, Ayns already put a sale on the Odin 2 and mini. (I'm coping hard)
I think I'm going to sell my RG40XXH and RG28XX and have this as my only retro handheld
That or Odin 2 mini OLED.
RP5 won't be replacing my DSi, New 3DS, Switch OLED or ROG Ally for DS, 3DS, Switch, and PC games
That's what I'm prepping for, just can't decide whether I want this or the odin 2 mini. If/when the de minimis exception is removed I don't expect to order another handheld anytime soon, so this last ones gotta hold me over
I hope I can cope and be happy with flip 2 for a while until like a Steam Deck 2 or something
Probably not
With tarrifs this may be the last bastion of cheap retro handheld for US buyers
I love my RP5, I find if very comfortable to play. My switch lite is currently in a state of 'has broken screen and waiting for oled upgrade" so it's replaced that entirely.
you could play games in both the original machines and your retro handheld. Like, I am going to still use my n2dsxl, but that wouldn't stop me from trying 3ds games on the flip 2 just to see how it does
ds and 3ds are harder to replace for multiple reasons but...
My only other major purchase this year will probably be a Switch 2 a little while after launch and a few games, but really I am fairly well set up as is, at least once my flip 2 and classic arrive
I enjoy stereo 3D so I would never play games that support 3D on a emulation device
and that's great but that doesn't take away the option to try from you
I'm just loving the size of the RP Flip 2 it's like they maxed out as much as they can with the screen size and still fitting in stack shoulders with analog triggers and fill size sticks that are not sliders yet it's still as pocketable as a New 3DS XL
like the ds/3ds touchscreen is going to be better than using the flip 2 (or rp5) screen for touch controls on games, but it's still an option
True but I don't think I'd waste space installing Citra and 3DS games when I own a New 3DS
RP Flip will be strickly a NES/GB to Wii/PSP device for me
How does it run most of Wii u?
With some games streaming from my PS5 and PC
I guess it will depend on the game
Wii not Wii U
lighter ones might run fine?
Wii U ill play on my ROG Ally
Can’t wait to play some Pokemon BR on flippy 2
another reason to try emulation even if you have the original system is for those games that can run better
like, I love my n2ds and use it a lot even today, but I'd rather play something like Pilotwings resort on emulator as I can play at 60 frames stable, instead of the highly variable frame rates on original hardware, even by using the New's full power
The only systems I don’t usually emulate is Wii and 3DS
I have my Wii still plugged since the day I bought it lol
but even then there's a lot to gain from emulation
although it's probably going to be harder to do Wii stuff on a portable handheld without using the wiimote or the sensor
i actually did not think about that
SD865 can run a few Wii U games: Zelda windwaker hd, Tokyo Mirage Sessions, Bayonetta, Mario 3d world, NSMB Wii U to name a few. Just fyi they don’t run perfect
Mario Kart 8 works but only the first race lol
I have 2 Wii Us I use
I do miss the interconnectability between systems like GBA and GameCube or DS and Wii
That was peak console design
I haven’t tried but games like COD Ghosts and BO2 crash while trying to boot
Uh oh I just saw the 557
I'm a bit on two minds with that. I love the interconnectability between systems.
It's great that you can connect GBC+N64, GBA+GC, DS+Wii to do special things with some games (or just a console game and the handheld system). For example being able to unlock microgames from Wario Ware in Wario World, the miriad of mini games in Billy Hatcher (they even made a Nights into Dreams game for that), or being able to transfer golf clubs between Mario Golfs...
But that's if you already have the stuff, feeling the need to buy a new device or game for a specific feature in something you have, is not great. Like, look at Four Swords on GC. You need gc + game + 4 gbas + gba-to-gc cables. That's a lot of money.
wait it that real. I thought was people messing around
ANBERNIC RG 557 features an ergonomic grip and a complete redesign, available in purple and white. It boasts a 5.48-inch AMOLED screen with a 1920x1080 resolution, ensuring sharp visuals, vibrant colors, high contrast, and responsive touch. With robust performance, it effortlessly handles retro games, large mobile titles, AAA streaming, and clas...
they really gone lazy on this one tho
Might jump ship when I see the details
I mean the SoC probably has more power than the 865
Oh oh, I think I can already see the problems, look at how hot it gets playing wii u, it's smoking hot
What?! Are you going to change your username?
TBD
I only bought flippy 2 cuz anbernic was sleeping
Sniffer always sniffs the newest handheld
Honestly depends on the price of the 557
hitman is rough wow
my Portal says I don't need this
Reminds me of @ocean cedar wait what? You don’t have a device in your username? What happened?
Very different use cases. But again it’s never about needs
It’s about wants
size is close enough
Oh you are talking about 557, I thought you were saying flip 2 vs portal
we kinda shifted the topic away from the flip, didn't we?
also I already ordered one when pre-orders gone live, so that thing is old news, on to the next
that gc gameplay showcase was very poor though
Bro. Both 556 and 557 are an ugly turd from a dying goat's arse.
High key
I just hate how it looks like a controller was split in half
No more mentioning of it in flip 2 chat please xD
if that clip of hitman 2 looked smooth to you I really don't know what to say, I think the video is working fine on my end
We’ll have to wait for 557 price and chip specs
Regardless of your opinion on how it look, at least the system doesn't seem to need a grip accessory for it to be more comfortable than other systems I suppose
I rather have the grips even if it makes it look bulkier than not having them... and then caving for a grip to make it comfortable to use
I mean that’s like the single game that didn’t look great
Is 3x shadow of the colossus not good?
Or am I just behind on benchmarks
I am not saying anything bad about the device itself, just that that particular part looks off
I don't know why it's peforming the way it is, probably bad settings or something, but showing that on an announcement video is interesting
Neither does flip 2 😛
We'll probably see a grip for the flip 2 anyway
Still looking for the right screw size, but let's assume skill issue until someone else tries 😂
Now I can finally go back to playing video games
No more YouTube, Discord and Reddit for at least… a few hours
They are very deep screws so I think I just need to track down my old ifixit kit in rhe garage 😆
I’ll be honest tho a clamshell does a lot for making the device feel like an actual console, instead of a phone with controls like the rp5
Portal.... flip
That's a huge screen lol
Android really breaks my immersion, but some front-ends do a good job
I agree
This too yes
Although the Odin 2 Mini did give me PS Vita vibes
I really liked the o2mini because of the vita vibes.
I think that the only other device so far where I was thinking this feels like a console.
O2 mini was nice but battery life was lacking
I liked it too but I found I couldn't take advantage of the full power because 5 inch apparently is still too small.
Made me squint a lot T.T
Then again I have much worst eyesight vs my childhood days
so whos cancelling and getting the rg557
I preferred the 5 inch screen tbh
Me
I remember picking up a DS lite and just wow I don't remember the screen being so small.
Wait nvm the shape.
Surely those are Apples/Oranges devices?
Haha indeed
both are premium android handheld gaming devices?
at most likely around the same price maybe?
If the 557 is priced competitively then hoo boy
556 was a bit cheaper than rp4p
Looks like it might be stronger than the 865 too
I think comparing a clamshell to a rather large horizontal device is a stretch to say the least
Sub $200 would murder the RP5
The Flip2 is not looking to reinvent the wheel performance wise, it's an SOC that has been used in multiple previous devices, the draw here is the form factor

New name
Never heard of them
Indeed...
No relation
Is it weird that even though I KNOW performance will be identical with RP5, I still want to see more gameplay?
I'm at
Switch
Steam Deck OLED
Flip 2
N3DS XL
2DS
DSi
With switch 2 replacing switch once things get sorted. But I play all of em and hope flip 2 fits in well for GBA
Anyway I shall expediently cancel my flip 2 for the 557
Are others just watching RP5 gameplay to tide them over while we wait?
I’m just watching the RGC video over and over again
LOVE Russ but after watching all the live streams yesterday, I didn't take anything new from RGC's video this morning
there is a RGC video?
I just like listening to Russ tbh

Oh yeah I have to watch this....
I like his voice too but Stubbs is growing on me because I share a lot of his opinions on ergo
has anyone preordered in the last day or two?
Switch 2 lite clamshell
Switch SP
Clamshell is the ultimate form factor, the viewing angle of a vertical, the comfort of a horizontal, and the best screen size to pocketability ratio
The Nontendo 4DS is what I wanted
my take is switch style removable controlls for non pocketable and clamshells for pocketable are the best formfactors objectively
Non 16:9 stuff also looks fine on a clamshell screen
Something about the way the screen and controls stay oriented
It's easier to ignore the unused space maybe
Something like that
Probably cuz on a candy bar, all that empty space is almost tangible cuz it’s between your hands
Yeah, I can see what you're getting at
The flip 2 is a bit taller
I'm speaking to the bezels
Can they ship already
Gonna buy me a 557 to fill the void
Looking at my n2ds screen I think I'd had a hard time getting used to a smaller screen, specially for 2d pixelart games
Emulating something like snes already feels a bit tiny for my taste
Hopefully rocknix is supported day one
Kinda feels like I’m gonna stick with rocknix for most emulation
Well, you could set up both android and linux for different things, I suppose
Is rocknix nondestructive? if I pop in the SD card does it mess with the built in flash at all?
I think Rocknix just loads off the SD card and leaves the EMMC alone
I'd like to try it out, but android (for non gaming reasons) was one of my main reasons for going to the retroid stuff
I know I'll probably use Rocknix here and there for PS3 dabbling
I just don't think the performance is there for SD865 to bother with Rocknix for the higher end stuff
I'd rather struggle with Switch on Android than struggle with PS3/Xbox on Rocknix
The struggle drives me
How’s stuff like dolphin on 865 rocknix
if it's anything like Android ATM, most games will run at 2x+ perfectly
Mmmm
I’m struggling with dolphin right now, mostly my own ignorance though. Trying to get controls set up so I can play SMB Galaxy/2
Cuz if dolphin is comparable to Android performance then I’d stick with Linux for all emulation
Android emulator experience sucks ass tbh
Geometry wars galaxies has to be a blast on the flip 2
I heard Stubbs mention April 17th or something as a possible ship date. Has that been confirmed in any way beyond the "mid April" statement?
I should just throw Rocknix on my RP5, Flip 2 and Odin 2 Portal
In this video, we take a look at my first impressions of the Retroid Pocket Flip 2 and why I can't do a final review yet or at all with this unit.

I want rocknix for celeste, shovel knight, and other ports
Ports nice yes
It's weird, the other people said the flip is sturdy, but here joey finds it more flimsy.
Could be the plastic? The others were gc
isn't Joey much more critical than others?
No idea, first video I see of him
It's just me beijg curious as others put pressure on theirs and didn't budge
At the end of the day you are not going to squish your console intentionally, I just found it interesting
He liked the flip though
I feel Joey has the expectations of the Smartphone industry at this point
He said it feels cheap
Ah, does he? Again, first video of his I see
Yes, and at the end he says he like it and it would be the handheld of his choosing to combo with the odin 2.
Exactly
That’s why I don’t take anything he says seriously lol
I see.
Granted I don’t take anything any reviewer says as gospel cuz I know I can only tell myself if I like something
Russ hated the 406V and it’s one of my all time favorites
I agree but I have no experience with ANY of these things, never bought one before
I’ve bought and sold dozens
So i don't have points of reference, and comparing systems from big companies strikes me as unfair or missing the point
Wdym
I' always been on the "I will wait for the next model" but we're reaching a point where I feel like diminishing returns are going to set in
We’re definitely at the point of diminishing returns
when he says it feels cheap hes talking about the plastic, its like squishy and thin he showed a video of it
might be a transparent thing bc the plastic is thinner
I mean that what a big company with money to burn is going to produce something with a different feeling than these smaller companies, not to mention outside of switch, those devices are quite old too
My experience with ds, psp and the like I don't feel like it would translate to know how to value these retro handhelds to me.
At the same time even the high end of those, like the vita is now like half the resolution than the rp or flip 2 to make one comparison.
I just lack references so i follow what others say with more interest
Of course these reviewers have biases and don't hold "the truth"
This is exactly what i was asking myself
We usually hold corpo devices in a different regard here
And that makes sense to me
At least at the top end we've already reached basically peak emulation capability with the odin 2, now it's mainly about how powerful we can get cheaper devices to be
That and maybe ps3, wii u, and higher resolutions screens maybe
Software is the bottleneck right now
As in improving emulators? Or is there something with android
Both
Android emulators are kind of behind
Especially with stuff like PS2 and switch
Welp
I barely used emulators on android, beyond a couple gba games long ago
104% tariff are now in effect soon to be.
Oof
Well not for these
$25/30% starting May 2nd. $50/30% June 1st. Which depends on shippers discretion.
its a QC thing
Joey's blue unit has a lot of flexing sounds that makes it sound like weak build quality
stubbs doesn't have that problem and i dont think russ does
it could also be because the blue one is an engineering one as they might of had more official GC units as thats the one in all the marketing
I'm the same but 3DS is the exception because I just love the 3D effect
Some games did 3d really well,
I had a 3ds at one point but it died so when I wanted to get back, the second hand prices were pretty high (nowadays absurd) so I settled for n2ds, for a number of reasons. I really like it overall, i do miss the 3d effect for a few games, but overall I am fine, I am happy I don't have to worry for the touchscreen bezel lol
Hope that isn't the case
I kinda wished nintendo went back to 3ds, but that ship sailed forever lol
Really wouldn't like bad hinges
I feel like that was the goal had the Switch not exploded in popularity
I never had any ds/3ds break on the hinge but I have seen enough busted consoles for it to scare me too
The bumper buttons are what usually broke for me.
Really? The most i can complain is a ds lite with dpad getting mushy
That too
oh man, kirby
and yeah, the ds got some neat mega man games, it even got the zero collection
and the castlevanias
I really hope one day someone gets bold enough to try a retro handheld specifically for ds and 3ds. But seeing Nintendo and their patents it's going to be a pretty awful road
He’s not referring to the hinge
Like the plastic prolly
I think all colors look good and I’m happy to get gc
Dude must have some magic hands to judge the quality of plastic based on feel.
I like how white looks best but the back looks not good with the logo
Well when u have that many handhelds u can sorta tell what feels kinda cheap and what doesn’t
It's that or the lines and logos that makes it look cheap
My rp3 feels cheap
Rp5 doesn’t
From the plastic alone
Russ and Stubbs says it feels great but toy-ish
But not in a bad way
Like in a fun console way
Which is what I wanted lol
Gc doesn’t get fingerprints
And neither does 16 bit apparently
No comments on black but I’m sure it doesn’t just like 4 pro and 5
Feeling cheap is one thing, identifying and judging the quality of plastic is another.
tbh russ liked miyoo flip v2 for feeling cheap
Stubbs tried the same and couldn’t
I still can't decide with colors. Russ made a comment about how the gc model could react to the fingers and change color, or something on those lines. If that were to be true I guess I'll get the snes styled one but still have a week or si to decide
It'd be nice if they were a little more specific about what feels cheap to them tbh
I don’t think that’d happen
Yea
Joey said “hard to explain but you’ll know it when u feel it”
Adin had similar sentiments
But honestly compared to mini discourse
This is nothing lol
It's between the Black and GC for me
We just need to see more reviews
It seems like adin just didn't like the overall look I think, too boxy for him ig
wasn't Joey messing with a pre-production unit?
I’m just amazed that they expect a $200 handheld to feel anything but cheap… It is a cheap electronic device in the grand scheme of things.
he says it was an "engineering unit" or something like that yes
200$ is not cheap tho
it doesnt need to be the most premium device ever
but it should feel good at least
It is for the chip you're getting
true
I mean, where talking about a sector that has things for like 35
but yea i dont think build quality is going to be that cheapedd out
there's a huuuge range of devices
its all relative
rp5 was a very premium feeling device
i have my qualms with it
mostly the stick placement making double stick gaming super bad
and making playing it in bed sometimes a nightmare on the sides
but thats most candybar handhelds
i bought a flip 2 both for pocketability and for being able to play on my sides better
and for the screen to appear on top so its more immersive
I think a $200 device is cheap for a gaming handheld. But that’s just me.
so why are people even mixing in his opinion on the quality, that's like taking the engineering units of the odin 2 portal into account now when the thing is already out
Well it's all we really have to go off of rn
yeah...
but like anyways
reviews are glowing
they're obviously going to try to find faults because they're reviewers ofc that's their job
pretty darn positive for something that could fail in many ways
being mixed on the plastic quality vs like the hinge quality is a good sign
and its not even a unanimous consensus
and could even just be an engineering unit quirk
I’m just confused why people are taking their comments on durability and quality based on their feel. It’s not like that they performed actual stress tests.
adin did
flip 2 passed them for a day
and he was doing some pretty crazy shit to it
stubbs did some stress testing and a drop test andd it passed but he didnt stress test for as long
In my case because I have nothing else to go off besides these youtube people's words.
The only flex test I saw was in a hand wobbling around. So some real tests would be cool (and probably also totally unnecessary)
given how much the Flip 1 bit Retroid in the ass with the breaking hinge, I doubt the can afford another issue after the RP Mini screen fiasco
one thing from Stubbs stream I remember was that the screen felt less reflective for him than the rp5, I guess having the entire front being lass can make quite the difference
Unless someone is doing a constant and consistent open and close for the supposed 100,000 times that Retroid claims, they’re not doing a stress test.
russ likes the plastic
was the flip 1 hinge so huge?
i checked
I remember taki mention that such stress test was easy and inexpensive to do in China for foldable phones. I look forward to some bilibili people try that.
yes he did
they had to repair a good amount
oof
flip 1 hinge is pretty small
and it was pretty ass
but once they had a fixed version of it no one had problems
I see
people were worried about flip 2 because of flip 1
but it was widely requested because flip 1 hinge issues aside was a huge cult classic
lots of enthusiasts for it
ignoring the old news handheld (flip 2) for now, NVIDIA confirmed DLSS for Switch 2
Some from the initial drop didn't experience it too but like, the conditions post shipping were all over the place. So it was significant but not necessarily replicable for everyone
Did Powkiddy have hinge issues on their x18/s?
they did a few days back
and its been rumored
i think in even better news is that all the footage of switch 2 we've been seeing is apparently not even dlss
devs havent been using it yet
missed the confirmation than, but yeah.. "rumor" lol
and it looks as good as it does
It can not n be true for Powkiddy to have 2 flip handhelds with solid hinges can it
so theres some games that might be running at 30 that could actually end up running at 60
or 40
yeah that was kinda obvious given the performance on handheld only matching a PS4 right now
all the ports are better than the ps4 ports so far tho
handheld mode might be closer
but docked mode its more comparable to series s and maybe ps4 pro
handheld ports are more like rog ally ports
maybe an in-between rog ally steam deck
because its running at low wattages
Yeah. Any mention about durability and overall longevity from someone that isn’t doing stress tests or have used it consistently over time… I just can’t take that seriously
the sf6 port is better than series s but i hear its because series s/x have problems with sf6's textures that capcom hasnt fixed
well, I said handheld after all
yea
handheld mode ports will still look noticeably better tho
the gpu might be an in-between of ps4/ps4 pro when in handheld (at least relative to clock speeds i think idk)
but the cpu is supposed to be leaps better and much more modern
cyberpunk is a cpu-bound game for example
Icy blue gang

I wonder if the flip 2 are in production 🤔
They would be if the plan is to begin shipping by mid-April.
The question should be which colour ships first
SNES all day everyday for me
so I'm thinking... if I get the Flip2 then having the RP5 becomes a bit redundant
Here is my RPFlip2 unboxing video, tomorrow I'll share another video showcasing hinge design, RGB lighting, audio quality, PS2 gameplay: 😎 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cGIx79PkjxM&ab_channel=IroncladCOBRA
In this video, I'm doing quick unboxing/first impressions of my black Retroid Pocket Flip 2 (ice blue) that was sent to me by Retroid as a review unit. Huge thanks to Retroid as I really feel privileged to be a brand ambassador for Retroid! This is not a sponsored video, which means all the opinions in the video are my own, no money was exchange...
That looks like it tastes really good
Any community consensus on how to make the clock/pacman logo thing look better?
Or which colorway has the best looking logo thing?
Stickers probably, might not look as good on the ice blue one though
lobotomy
Bro that intro tune is fire
Thanks man 🥰
That logo seems to annoy quite a few people lol
I love it. Fok'em
It looks nice on the icy blue
FLIP2SAVE10. It’s written in the official website too
I swear I saw the message asking for discount code. Maybe it’s deleted
has anyone used the mini coupon code without getting checked up on?
I tried, didn’t work.
I think the mod of SBCGaming sub got it wrong
its working in my car but never bought a mini, wasn't sure if they'd actually check or catch on
MiniSave10 did not work for me earlier today, said I was not eligible
That’s cool. In the worst case they charge you another $10 later
I tried again, didn’t work.
It's preferred to buy from retroid's site directly right? It's safe?
black i guess
Yes
Thank you for saying this
Flip 2 is 3 weeks old , it had a nice run
the shiny new toy is the Switch 2 now, Retroid gotta move aside
...to be fair the overall feeling towards the switch 2 seems pretty divisive, even ignoring clickbaity influencers and such
A lot of people don't understand anything about the pricing tho. Hardware divisiveness I can understand
I mean... I don't like the increase in price but at the same time I think it's quite a decent upgrade hardwarw-wise
The Switch 2's price I think is good. I honestly expected it'd be at least 500 so was pleasantly surprised to see it be at 450.
The game prices are pretty nasty though. Pretty much gonna have to buy whatever games I want for the Switch 2 used to save some money
But there's so many things around that. The e-waste game keys, the price hike in games, the battery possibly lasting less than switch 1, the joycon's sticks and how weird nintendo's way of talking about them feeling suspicious to people, etc
I mean for any major international seller you have to take into account hardware sourcing, margin spreading across markets, actually know what a tarrif is, etc. lack of that knowledge cuts about 80% of the people in those discussions
people wages didn't go up as much as inflation devalued their money, so obviously most won't be happy about this
the thing is, the average Joe probably hasn't even heard about the Switch 2 yet, like parents buying the console for their child won't be out there before the holidays anyway, it's just us lunatic early adopters right now
But yeah. Concern about battery, performance, joysticks, etc. are all a pretty valid things to discuss
Sure, I was ignoring all the vitriol and hate for hate's sake
Nintendo has very difficult times ahead,
Yeah. People love to hate companies in general. They'd rather see Nintendo die, then do what it needs to to survive market volatility. But losing them would be sad. For gaming as a whole
You can emulate these games with the you know what emulator easy
Another that happened today was doug bowser's comments about switch 2 prices and how there's switch 1, quite the don mattrick flashback
While my appreciation to nintendo as a company has dwindled it would absolutely be awful to lose them,
I'm not 100% sure the earlier tarrifs played 0 roll in Nintendo's initial pricing either. I'm sure they left a comfortable margin in the pricing just in case
They might never admit that but
Don't quote me on this but I have read that the prices did not take into account tariffs
That strikes me as weird from nintendo
Yea say what u want, but Nintendo is staunchly anti-AI
But probably they did not expect such brutal numbers
I remember when iwata cut his salary to not lay off employees
During the wiiu days
I really liked that man
Flaws and all
The tarrifs on Vietnam had to be rough. Their second Manu hub
Mind you, i still have appreciation and respect to the devs and workers there, it's just that as time went on I drifted away from the idea of "loving" corporations
Well. At some point for many your just money so it's a healthy move
Nintendo's game dev history is fascinating
Well I think I'll catch some sleep
Good day to all
Have a good sleep!
I'm unable to source my games unfortunately.
Yeah, it sounds like a lot of people/companies expected it, but still got floored by the magnitude 🤯
Yeah. Pretty wild. Like even if he's using it as a short term bargaining chip, it may be a more shocking bluff, but it also makes confidence in the US market a little sketchy. Lol
I love how pocketable the device is
in good news however
the rubber bump falling on russ/joey was apparently already addressed they just have engineering units
david confirms that the rubber bump doesn't fall out like it does with theirs anymore
its more properly glued on for retail
Feels like a thick ds despite to not having dual screen and i love it
damn
Damn
Damn
This sucks. But exactly because of this I would like to have a very thin screen protector to reduce the chances of cracking the whole screen
wait for retroid to respond to it, it could just be an issue with the rubber bumpers falling out
A screen protector would make the issue worse
but yea this might be more of an issue than the hinge will be if its not addressed
Similar things happened to Joey
Alright I'll finally cave and buy the odin 2 mini
we only know that the bumpers are fixed currently
literally unbuyable 😔
looks at both my X18s that did this with the sticks I guess people care now?
apparently the dpad is barely touching the screen
so its not like an insane amount of touching
Oof
but we dont know how it'll be affected long term if not addressed
Order canceled
it could be nothing, it could cause problems
Why send engineering units for review instead of retail
Y'all realize that thicker screen bumpers would address this
because its retroid
joey said that too yea
As long as they don’t fall out
Like just by a mm would fix it
they're fixing the bumper falling with retail
that part we know is confirmed by david
its apparently not glued on properly for engineering
Yeah glue it in
The engineering units probably had minimal adhesive
nothing electrical tape can't fix
This problem is not very serious compared if the hinge is weak
I posted it before hold on
well adin was abusing the shit out of the hinge yesterday
like he was pretty much going out of his way to fuck that device up
and it ended up fine
pretty sure the hinge will be okay
that'd be retroid's first priority to fix anyways
Where's that stubbs gif
i knew it'd be something stupider that could ruin the flip 2 if gone unchecked
not the hinge
Stubbs giving it the autism flappy treatment
Who remembers the 2DSXL circle pad tattoos
flappy bird
Depends of how you treat your device
flippy bird
Or the OG 3ds with the touch screen bezel
Yup that too lol
now he should do it holding it by the top
Treating the flip 2 like a butterfly knife
ong
I caved
I mean yeah as long as it doesn’t permanently scratch the screen it should be fine
Personally I am not too concerned about this issue
But would be nice if they can fix it before shipping
Compared to others issues that could be happen is nothing
It’s also a common issue with clamshells
I don't have any rush to get the flip 2 (not having the money) but i can wait if this problem is fixed on a matter of months
My overal view of the device until I get one: I love it, clean design and looks amazing
Yea at worst I’m just gonna super glue something to add a super small amount of height lol, if the retail units haven’t addressed this already
They claim they fixed it for retail, so Ig we'll see how true that is
i doubt it happens with the bumpons
Figured as much
As a flip one owner for a while now it's never mattered
does it even happen if you're not squeezing the device hard to test how much it flexes
Forreal lol
Everyone is like, can't wait to crush my device together!
#boycott retroid
Like I know people are screen protector obsessed, but clamshells drop the chance of scratching the screen exponentially
i think not being able to use a screen p rotector for a clamshell is really not much of a drawback if at all
theres no scenario where you actually will need it
unless you go out of your way to fuck up the screen specifically
like
Seems like it could be fixed with shorter caps and a smaller d pad installed, unless the buttons are also an issue?
my old macbook's battery slowly expanded causing the whole keyboard to get imprinted on the screen over time.
i can see it being useful if there was a failed assassination attempt on you and the bullet targets the flip 2 screen specifically
small chance it might live compared to not having a screen protector
Probably the one valid need
Or if you go to the beach a lot and roll it in sand
I wish we could get a Steam Deck Flip with the same size and form factor as a RP Flip 2
Even if the screen was downgraded to 720p OLED
To clarify, that screen residue wipes right off, it’s kinda similar to what you will often see on laptops. I’m not concerned about it. The rubber bumpers won’t be an issue on retail units, this is an engineering sample.
Interesting.
Yeah I guess that makes sense, I do see the odd keyboard imprint on my laptop
It'd really just be a size downgrade... Steam Deck OLED is already just 720p + 80p more you might not always use.
Damnit retroid, we wanted cow prints not imprints
Damn straight

Haven’t watched it but here
When someone called that one the Baja Blast version it kinda made me want it 😅
Fuuuuuck. That's perfect
Baja blast is more fitting than ice blue
For some reason I think white/light grey buttons and sticks and whatnot would fit the baja blast theme more than black
I swear shipping for my unit was half what it is for most everyone else I have seen. Either I’m just uncharacteristically lucky or something was messed up with my order
What was your shipping?
Gotta get a Baja blast sticker

White House Press Secretary says 104% additional tariffs went into effect at noon eastern time because China has not removed it's retaliation. The 104% additional tariff will be collected starting tomorrow April 9th. #trade #Tariffs #POTUS #china

Still not buying the first run , if ever tbh
That’s not a flip 2 article
GameCube will ship first, ice blue will ship last.
Retroid discord have any rumored ship dates
Noppppe
I'm already planning on getting a baja blast sticker for it and I don't even drink soda anymore.
Retroid be like: we make devices with flaws
I wasn't too jazzed about the Flip 2, but seeing these early impression videos is making me want one. But now I'm nervous about the stupid-ass terrif situation in the US. I may wait to see what people's experiences with that are before committing
Well I got Ice Blue and used 4px. I'm definitely getting tariffed.
If they're just starting shipping in the next week or so it seems like all colors will get tariffed
But if it's $25 fee, then I don't mind.
I think $25 is wishful thinking. Will likely be a hell of a lot more
By that time it could be more or back to less, who knows
I wouldn't count on less though
Yeah, who knows at this point
Current tariff amount from China is 104%
I don
I don't care how good it is. I'm not paying double
I probably will.
Again you won't pay double. Especially if you use 4px
I already bought an odin 2 pro. It's basically the same price at $400
You'll pay $25 or 30% starting May 2nd
Then $50 or 30% starting June
Shippers discretion for flat value vs percentage
That's why I'm curious to hear what people's actual tarrif costs end up being. If it is indeed that low than I won't mind
Just don't want to commit before hearing actual experiences
Yeah. Also really depends which the shipper uses. On a $200 item, $25 isn't bad. $60 kinda sucks
Assuming the item is under $800 and shipped within the international postal network that's what you'll end up paying
Aren't tariffs like 104% on China now?
Was a question someone literally just asked
Yeah but that's separate from the end of de minimis
Now I mean by May 2nd they could totally make up new numbers
But if they come after they now cost double
But that's where it stands right now
No. If it's under $800 it's either $25 or 30%
You can read it in that link
I obviously can't read but thanks for the link
Np. Sometimes that happens
I like being wrong when it's in this direction though
The way I understand it the de minimis limit will still somewhat exist, as items under $800 won't receive 104% tariffs after May 2nd, but they will receive either the 30% or $25.
I don't believe that is the case
Based on the fact that apparently Taiwan just pull gpu stock going to America.
We just need to pin the executive order on every channel and announce it 2 times a day
And redirected them to other countries
It's pretty much day-to-day at this point
@random tulip right. Cause shipping 50 gpus is WAY over $800
I wouldn't be surprised to see some price changes after midnight tonight when the 104% take place
Like they don't ship 1 at a time
Nintendo is not sending one plane for each switch 😆
Like if you ordered 4 flips, it'd be 104%
Cause the total value of the shipment would be greater than $800
Around $20
It'll basically kill ordering some OneX stuff unless they undervalue it for shipment
Word is they already have a couple hundred thousand Switch 2's in US warehouses. Which makes total sense. But they can't have one price for the first batch and then up the price a month later for the new shipments coming in
Yeah. Would be kinda messed up. I don't think they'll raise it to the new total. They'll calculate out what is the most they can raise it by and still make sales and profit
Ahh wait I read that wrong
Honestly I could see alot of Chinese companies selling goods to warehouses in the states for waay less than their going cost to get around tarrifs then raising the price to what it is supposed to be in the states.
Nvm sorry about that
Yeah GPD and Ayaneo might be screwed in that department, at least for their US market
I mean AliExpress sellers will 100% undervalue shipments. They already do to some extent
^
Nintendo is a bit of a unique case. There's a certain segment that will buy regardless of how much it costs
4px is literally a way for China to avoid paying for import tax
That is why you usually pick 4px if you don't live in USA
Yeah. There is a convoluted way you could buy from like UK retailers and have it shipped here and then only pay the UK tarrif, etc
Because the tracking isn't as good as DHL
Droix right
But as Wii U showed that segment is fairly small in the grand scheme of things and will fall off very soon after launch day.
Yeah. I imagine they'll see an uptick of American buyers
Thinking, is there anything stopping Anbernic from making say a 1,000 rgsps, selling them to a warehouse in the states they own for fifty cents each, then listing them on their website and selling for a more normal fifty bucks.
I've heard they have pretty good support and warranty so yeah they might be the go to
Wii U was very different. Not only was it a different economy then, no one bought that thing. Switch 2 will sell gangbusters
Yeah. 4px might get you the better rate anyway. Because some of DHLs shipment services, like express international, aren't part of the international postal network, so you may end up getting hit with 104% on anything you buy
Only if they get caught the US might light them all on fire 😆
They would try, but probably fail to find anyone capable of lighting a match or telling the difference between gasoline and water.
the best idea i've heard yet is to just setup some shops on the borders
Can't fault you there. They probably do have guns, and can shoot them in the right direction 30% of the time
People will def be bringing switches across from Canada
US stormtroopers lol
Just don't get caught with 20 in your trunk
I am reminded of the Ashens PS1 retrospective video where he talks about a friend who bought a Japanese playstation before it was available in the states
Thats an insult to stormtroopers
You're not wrong
Several German firms developed tanks betwen the world wars by labeling them as agricultural equippment. I am sure you could do something similar and claim them as medical equippment or something.
A lot of gun lovers here put imperial and stormtrooper helmets decals on their trucks. So it's not that far off
Except we're doing the dumbest tarrifs. Blanket tarrifs
They also think that warhammer 40k is serious scifi
So like, we import a fair amount of Chinese produced medications. And they'll also be 104%
All Nintendo needs to do is show Trump the Donkey Kong trailer, he'll give them an exception for sure
And not originally intended to paint the Imperium as fascists. Yeah. A lot of people miss the plot
Guess thats what happens when your key source of goverment decisions is a book called, "SO, YOU WANT TO BANKRUPT MULTIPLE CASIOS?"
The idea of a gun lover with a decal of a group with shit aim is hilarious
Well he's bankrupting the global casino now, so he's at least on brand
Yeah. But they look so cool! And shoot innocent. So awesome I guess?
Early 40k is so clearly a product of the 80s, everything is over the top and the question of, "would it be cool to a fourteen year old?" was the only one that mattered. Its glorious.
We also have cops wearing punisher gear. So nothing shocks me anymore
Yeah. Love the older stuff. It's very clearly marketed towards selling Space Marines now, so a lot of the underlying commentary is completely absent these days
Guess you gotta get the black one and spray paint over some stencils with white paint
I’m too much a trek fan to enjoy super grungy dark sci-fi or fantasy. But it does do a very good job of looking totally awesome in an eighties hair band sort of way. Just leather and gothic architecture everywhere
I’ve been in helldivers 2 matches where people genuinely seem to think humans are the good guys, and that’s pretty blatant with the satire
100%. It's wild, but one could say we've gotten progressively dumber so it's not super shocking
what's up flippers
Sec. 3. De Minimis Tariff Increase. To ensure that the imposition of tariffs pursuant to section 2 of this order is not circumvented and that the purpose of Executive Order 14257 and this action is not undermined, I also deem it necessary and appropriate to:
(a) increase the ad valorem rate of duty set forth in section 2(c)(i) of Executive Order 14256 from 30 percent to 90 percent;
(b) increase the per postal item containing goods duty in section 2(c)(ii) of Executive Order 14256 that is in effect on or after 12:01 a.m. eastern daylight time on May 2, 2025, and before 12:01 a.m. eastern daylight time on June 1, 2025, from 25 dollars to 75 dollars; and
(c) increase the per postal item containing goods duty in section 2(c)(ii) of Executive Order 14256 that is in effect on or after 12:01 a.m. eastern daylight time on June 1, 2025, from 50 dollars to 150 dollars.
Well bad news flipper friends
Now 90%/$75/$150
tldr - you’re screwed if you didnt already preorder by now
Yup. Might even still cancel mine if it hasn't shipped by weeks end
That's a ouch
Do we know what model is shipping first?
Sorry I meant color
I ordered 2 flip 2s I hope at least one gets here without the tarrifs
Preferable both so I don't have to cancel one 😅
If you buy something and have to pay tariffs but then return it, do you get your tariff taxes backs?
nope
It's a tax so no
Nope
Once it hits the sorting center
You're on hook
You have to cancel before it gets shipped out
Tarrifs are a type of tax you can't avoid easily
You get sales tax back 🤷
Assuming there is enforcement
yep
As in tax for you having the audacity for buying something from another country
How dare you
Part of the goal of tarrifs is to be punitive so don't expect refunds being a option
Blaming temu for our downfall 😆
They're like "we can make super shitty goods here too! Just watch"
Ignoring manufacturing in the US is currently on the decline due to the market crash
I keep thinking it wont get cheaper/easier/quicker in putting off buying direct
nor thinking waiting for a used one would yield much of a discount, if at all
I'm close to impulse buying a Flip 2
srsly the urge
Was going to wait, but I'm an American 🙃
if being the operative word
🔥 🐶 ☕ everything is fine
Read a message on here that said Ice Blue is shipping last, is that a rumor or is that confirmed?
I am not sure myself
16 bit is out of the running, and black is probably out as well, since it's plain. So it's between GC and Ice Blue/Baja Blast
And I do enjoy Baja Blast with my Taco Bell
Honestly I would have purchase by now
If I also didn't just buy a GPU
so...... yeah....
I have an Odin 2 and a modchipped Switch Lite, I'm covered on all my bases
So I shouldn't be in a rush to buy a Flip 2, but I've been wanting a Flip 2 since I missed out on the Flip 1
I had a mini for a whole full day before selling it off
Nothing against it but I been waiting for a Flip device
yea I have an OG flip that I love, main/only emulator I have left
Because of the form factor or is it a native gaming vs emulation thing?
all the videos ive seen gimme the impression dpad gaming ergo isnt as bad as id thought
Native gaming tbh, playing DS/3DS games is way better on actual hardware.
Would be form factor for me
The ability to just snap it shut and get moving is a big deal
For me anyway
clamshell convenience is hard to beat
