I didn’t have one either, but I believe the home/back button are combined and you have to hold or press twice in order to get the function you want. It makes hotkey’s stupid, and it just feels better to have two separate buttons

…What did you think we were talking about? We constantly were saying the Mini was actually using the LG Wing screen in the AYANEO Pocket DMG and RP Classic, but with the top and bottom covered to make it look 4:3.

Except that only does 1240 horizontally, so they needed to lower the vertical resolution to 928 to actually be 4:3.

It is sad to me given I wouldn't have gotten this much interest in Retroid if not for the reputation they had, but... I'll still be watching the reviews on the upcoming products and still deciding if I wanna buy.

Nah, I checked it with a bunch of different screen testing apps the immediate moment I found out about the Mini, and the worst I could find is it’s a portrait 1080x1920 screen rotated into being landscape mode.

The biggest thing for me was my experience with the RP4 Pro. I was one of the first people to both receive their device, and the second person to report a broken trigger. They shipped me a fixed trigger before diagnosing the issue, and so the second trigger broke within a half hour and they were will to send me a third trigger. They had no fuss at all about it, and the device was perfect from then on. I know they took care of me with this issue, so I trust they will take care of any issues the Classic has, if any. Something like the screen on the mini is just so ridiculous I cannot imagine it happening again, but I defintely am wary

I didn’t just use one app that listens to the screen, I also used a couple that would try to read the exact pixel density that the screen was currently using (those being the ones the RP Mini actually would usually fall for, although at the time I just thought it was because it was reading the downscaled screen resolution, I didn’t think it was actually in fact correct about it being only 1240x628).

I had to outright resolder the ribbon connector just to fix it, and Anbernic had literally ghosted me after I tried asking for them to send a replacement part (it’s not even the side with the chips or other components, it shouldn’t have been any more than like $15 max).

At the same time, that market is flooded with a lot more alternatives. The flip largely stands on its own. It may be more expensive, but as a clamshell in a DS style (tho single screen) it may sell pretty well

Plus the classic lacks a stick, thereby limiting the style of games it can play. Whereas, the flip is more traditional and can play a wide variety of games with no limitations other than power to play newer consoles and ig possible difficulty setting up some motion controls(?)

I’m more concerned about after the Flip 2 ships and is delivered to people. This channel holds so much latent chaos bottled up. Once this channel serves its purpose, the resulting explosion and dispersal of chaotic energy has the potential to be cataclysmic for the entire server

I’m not sure tempering the channel will work. Test results have shown it’s unstable and could collapse in on itself if throttled. The former scenarios I mentioned might actually be our best bet as opposed to risking stifling the building chaotic potential. Just look at what happened with the cows. They were a measure taken to control the unpredictable potential of the Flip 2 channel, and they have seemed to have only compressed and strengthened the chaos further

At this point, all we can do is hope the Flip 2 launches cleanly and Retroid plays its part well. A faulty launch or Retroid PR stupidity could cause the channel to completely lose stability and spiral out of control, thereby extending the fallout effect onto the other upcoming devices channels
