I think this thing blows the pixel 1 out of the water though. Stuff is actually playable on the 2... always had issues with audio crackling on the 1 with certain games across all platforms

and I do think the added width goes a long way towards actual playability

even if you lose some of the charm of the original's size

but you gain a heck of a lot in the process, totally worth it imo

would be great to see them put out a cheaper plastic version, not sure if this is from lao zhang or just a random mod

This definitely has the MM beat in a lot of other areas besides just the shell material... screen, shoulder buttons (arguable I suppose) and performance, not to mention being a bit shorter

The Miyoo Mini's are fucking horrible without mods

But for the better performance, I think it's pretty unnecessary for anything above PS1, but you might disagree with me

it is kind of ridiculous to play those systems on a device this small, but I'm about it lol. Aside from that, the extra performance DOES give you the option to use certain shaders which is nice. Despite the MM not having shaders, I was able to use video filters to get a "shimmerless" experience on systems that didn't interger well which is about as far as I'd use shaders for.

then again I've always been fascinated by the miniaturization of technology... always regretted not getting a GB micro

the size doesn't seem to bother me so much... at least not yet

Pixel 2 hits a sweet spot in terms of capability : size, whereas something like the RG nano or funkey S take the concept further away from capability to a point I'd rather not bother with

if you only plan to play ps1 and lower, don't mind crackly audio on some games, don't mind a technically worse screen (in image quality and resolution) then the pixel 1 is a winner in my books. Otherwise, pixel 2 fixes those issues

There was an issue with plumOS-pixel2 not recognizing the SD card image properly, but we found out that it was a problem with the SD card and have now resolved it.🥺
It will be released soon.

As an aside, I do not intend to improve the performance of the CFW I am working on.
It is enough if low-spec games such as NES and GBA can run.
I am exhausted by the trend of demanding performance from SoCs that have poor performance, both in the past and now. lol🤣
If you are looking for more performance, I recommend using another CFW.

However, this time with plumOS-pixel2, pyxel is now available, the adoption of picoarch has extended battery life, retroarch has improved input delay, and the quality of game music has been improved by installing an equalizer in the OS itself.

For those who are not interested in these features, this CFW has no merit, but if you are interested, I would be happy if you try it.😆

Closing RetroArch just restarts the game instead of taking me back to the menu, forcing me to turn the system off once I'm done playing a specific game
I can't change the language of RetroArch from Chinese

Changing RetroArch's language might be straight-up impossible, since the way you usually do it doesn't exist for me

• Does the same thing happen if you change the emulator or core?
• Does this problem occur with a specific ROM? Does it work fine with other ROMs?
• Does the same problem occur if you change the SD card to a different one?

You can change it from the SELECT button on the ROM selection screen -> ADVANCED SYSTEM OPTIONS.

I played Secret of Mana for a very long time with the beetle superfaust core and it didn't freeze, but I thought maybe it would, so I played it with snes9x and snes9x2010 and confirmed that it did freeze.😱

Therefore, since the cause is currently unknown, I recommend changing the core if you experience problems with the game's operation.

If you want to change the core for each ROM, you can change the core by moving the cursor to the target ROM on the ROM selection screen, then pressing the "X" button -> ADVANCED GAME OPTIONS.

This will take priority over the core changed in the SELECT button menu mentioned above.

I've bought stuff from companies that'll like print the labels weeks in advance and prep all the packaging. And then when stuff finally shows up they'll drop them off

How do I change the default audio latency

It keeps going back to 32 ms and it's really fucking annoying

You can change it from Emulationstation->GAME SETTINGS->LATENCY REDUCTION.

Items set to ON or OFF in the ES settings, or items with a numerical value set, will ignore the value changed by the user in the retroarch settings screen and the value set on the ES side will be forced.
Items set to default will give priority to the values changed by the user on the retroarch settings screen.
These settings will also apply to all emulators.

If you want to set it for each emulator, press the SELECT button on the desired ROM selection screen and set it from ADVANCED SYSTEM OPTIONS.

If you want to set it further for each ROM file, place the cursor on the desired ROM file and press the X button to set it from ADVANCED SYSTEM OPTIONS.

In this way, the ES settings are hierarchically organized as shown below, and settings are overwritten in the order of priority 3 > 2 > 1.

• Global settings (priority 1)
• Emulator settings (priority 2)
• ROM file settings (priority 3)

For example, if you set AUDIO LATENCY to 32 in the global settings and AUDIO LATENCY to 64 in the ROM file settings, 64 will only be effective when you run that ROM file.

This explanation of ES settings is not specific to ROCKNIX or plumOS, but is knowledge that applies to all CFWs that use ES.✨

I’m pretty happy with mine in general, but Rocknix seems slower than on Mini M, and I’d want game resume to stop carrying the nano (but the size is fine). The screen is slightly washed out compared to the nano but to the naked eye is close to the zero 28

and that picture shows size but really doesn't capture the differences in screens.

I'd put the OG GKD pixel in the shot but I don't have it with me at work today.

@deep tundra they look better when not abused by my iPhones decision making. Mine was in the US before the end of January and was vanished by the USPS for about a month, it was within 50miles the first week of Feb, then nothing, then in queens NY, back to the Chicago area, and finally to me on the 1st. Very frustrating

you need the image file and then you flash it to the drive with a flashing tool. It is this the same procedure for all retro handhelds so feel free to watch any of the youtube tutorials!

you can clone the SD card, instead of reinstalling it all. you use a program like Rufus to copy it all into the new card.

so it worked well, this installation is in English by default, set the default to emulation station, added my theme, changed the time and time zone, turned networking off and afterwards it had the same issue again. I rebooted it and now it seems to work well again with no more issues after repeated changing / trying different systems and such
