Also, the x55 is currently $60 with worldwide shipping from the powkiddy website and has 2gb ram.

I'm not sure they will be undercutting it in price by much, even with less ram.

Maybe if it has a touchscreen it would be vaguely interesting?

yeah, e6 plus is better. E6 max is coming in at a cheaper or equal price soon for double the power. The H55 is mostly newb-bait.

sad that you got a crap unit. Mine was almost dumpster bound, because it has a bad case of linux firmware battery drain. The android 11 64-bit image saved it though

local reviews say the hallsticks are awesome. They’re the exact ones that the x35s had and the k56 will be shipping with so I don’t think I’ll get it for just that xD

so guys i thought this chat was dead so i didnt update things here, i actually spoke with that alibaba seller, and actually got one of that shipped to me.

it didn't boot when it arrived, the same problem with X55 where it wouldn't boot for some reason but when analog sticks are unplugged, it will boot.

it was my first horizontal handheld, after R36s, and it felt really really good in hands when picked up for the first time. (i do emulation all the time, this was the time I actually got salary of my own to explore my interests) didn't feel cheap at all. was built well. the screen was little dim actually, I think it is X55's screen because all of the reviews said X55's is a dim one. but from the design to everything was excellent (as a newbie yes)

it was like an X55 but looked and felt way better. like really, I own better things and yeah, it didn't feel like I was holding a 55USD device.

but it didn't boot up, tried several days, gave me a very elaborate heartbreak. tried so many things, even got the software package directly from the seller, tried to update, all went in vain.

I am from India, and seller had an Indian friend, so I shipped it back to that friend (3 days ago), and my money will be refunded after CNY.

I was so pissed by this, and I started saving up money, and, I̶ w̶e̶n̶t̶ a̶n̶d̶ o̶r̶d̶e̶r̶e̶d̶ a̶ p̶o̶c̶k̶e̶t̶ e̶v̶o̶ 1̶2̶+̶2̶5̶6̶. (cancelled it and got an Core HS/ayaneo slide)

I'll put some pictures, if anybody's still interested.

it runs on emuELEC, with ES. no android, no touch. 1g RAM + 8g eMMC.

I also have the system files, dtb and software package directly from vendor, so if any devs wanna work on this, I'll send that too

this is really a good contender for X55 at my buying price 55usd (65usd - 10usd alibaba coupon).

but forgot to mention, this had 5000mah battery, smaller bezels than X55, and when I disassembled, it had the same exact IC soldering, and placeholders as X55 board, but the problem is, the area where there should've been a wifi chip was empty. like there are solders and metal connections mentioning Wifi and ANT, but no chip. so no wifi/Bluetooth either.

but if made right, this is a very beautiful rk3566 device. imo it even looks better than e6/e6 plus.

I think this console was released just a bit too soon. It feels great and the screen is beautiful, unfortunately as it stands, it’s not optimized very well.

try this dtb for qrd vorterx F5 (flash rocknix for x55 and replace dtb with this)

  1. right screen orientation is applied in the dtb (do not edit extlinux.conf)
  2. HOME/BACK key is now working and assigned as FN key (map it freely)
  3. turned R stick axis modified

Guys, after installing rocknix on sd card. I tried it a bit. Remove rocknix card, now stock Emuelec won't load. Is that normal?

Did the rocknix instalation on a separate SD card (tf1) used base rocknix, the tbd in this thread and the APPEND change (so I installed rocknix 3 times) .. All those times the system was extremey laggy, and only when I went to the menu it became responsive, but once I went back to the main screen... ultra laggy again. So I guess rocknix doesn´t work for me??? (all cards are sandisk or samsung)

Ok, so for anyone as dumb as me who didn´t noticed ... this emuelec version only reads FAT32, so if you want to have a bigger newer cart for games on TF2 you have to format Fat32 and all of the content of your rom file should be on the root.

the most important part is use a USB A-C cable, not C-C. and try to use a relatively normal/generic charger, not one with some special fast charging tech like qc/vooc/etc (although i haven't heard of those really causing problems, just the C-C ones)
