#Switch 2
1 messages · Page 4 of 1
nintendo gimmicks obviously
What I want is... the birth of the dpad; analog stick (effectively): analog shoulder buttons; 3d display; touch screen; dual screen; cart mapper expansion; motion control (effectively). Added: actual shoulder buttons.
What I was left with ahead of the trailer was: I just hope they bring back the dpad and analog triggers. Fucking crushing.
dpad ain't coming to the official joycons. Even super early on for Switch 1 Nintendo just let Hori do it instead.
But yeah, mouse joycons seem to be the gimmick that'll be used once or twice and forgotten afterwards, like the IR sensor
sensor?
used twice
never again
Weakest part of the switch 1 is its power, this has more power. Weâll now get a playable Pokemon title lol
pokemon could have already been playable
gamefreak is just ass at optimizing even a little bit
no
the switch 2 is a switch that plays more demanding games
that's it
anything more exciting than that you'll have to look elsewhere
Nothing else thatâs actively needed, since the expected power is gonna be outright significantly better than the Switch 1, even if the chipset has an underclock.
Mouse Controls built into the Joycons is actually pretty cool, since there is a lot of stuff they could potentially do with it. And it would make sense if that was the only actual âinnovationâ they add to the thing, since itâs already also piggybacking on the Switch 1âs whole concept.
Nah, PokĂ©mon gameâs are unironically the most optimized games Iâve seen be made in their standard conditions.
âŠThe problem is that those âstandard conditionsâ are fucking awful.
ScVi as an example are open world games with literally over 2000 unique models overall to work with (all of which you have to bug test and make sure are working properly, on top of the regular bug testing for open world games), and it was made with less than 80 devs in only 2-3 years (with likely a minimal budget as well). Versus most other open world games having 300-400 devs working on the thing for at least 5 years or more.
Nintendo has been trying to keep doing new gimmicks for a while and they basically never stick the way something like them inventing the d-pad did. People are largely happy with how games control on controllers, you need something really really good to convince people to hop ship. Pretty much the only thing that's actually carried over since the wii is motion control aiming, no one likes the other aspects of motion controls. Touch control took off majorly in the mobile space, too. But like not many people used the 3d on the 3ds, they didn't like having to use the wiiu gamepad and hated the way Star Fox Zero tried to force control innovation, nothing uses the weird IR sensor in the joycons, and not that much even uses the motion controls in the joycons. People gravitated to the hybrid design of the Switch so it's totally understandable they're just making a bigger, more comfortable, and more powerful version of it. It works.
Mouse stuff could be really cool too, actually. I have an Azeron Cyborg and getting mouse aiming with analogue joystick movement is a godsend when games support it!
Like, genuine props to Game Freakâs game devs, they did a way better job than most people Iâve seen make games in those types of conditions. But fuck the Game Freak Execs for forcing them to make games in those conditions in the first place.
question is if Game Freak is even capable of optimizing it for the more power đ
Have you seen the performance of Arceus and ScVi on an overclocked switch? The fact they legit perform better when you push the cpu to the level used by dev units reek of rushed development leading to them only basing their optimization tests on said dev units, and not on the consumer units used for final testing.
And of course, they canât go back to update it themselves, because âthey gotta get to work on the next pokemon game to have it out 2-3 years from now, leave it to B-Team, theyâre already working on the DLC anywaysâ.
Nevermind the fact that the DLC is already adding a brand new environment that they have to also test and make sure runs well enough to release in less than a year (hereâs a hint on how well that went, Kitakami ran worse than Paldea while Blueberry did run better, but only because it was outright a smaller/simpler environment overall), on top of doing the updates for gamebreaking bugs in base game.
I'm waiting for Sony to talk about heir handheld project
Oh there's no point
Maybe if they figure out what the hell they're doing with exclusives
Otherwise gaming PC plus switch 2 is the way
Just be happy they're selling their games on PC now. Like, peeps have been begging for that for over a decade, and now that they do PC gamers especially seem to really love talking about how Sony has no exclusives.
Feels like they want Sony to have exclusives, so they can go back to complaining about it.
Reminder not to fall for the Goomba Fallacy.
Nah, I'm even talking about people I know.
I have friends and acquaintances I've known for years that were PC gamers most of their lives, always annoyed that they would've had to buy a PS3 or PS4 to play Sony exclusives, and now that they finally can play what would be PS5 exclusives on their PCs, they love to drag on Sony for not having exclusives.
Oof, so youâre dealing with the real deal then.
It's so hard to have the self control to not go Syndrome meme on 'em
Part of it is the goomba. Just surprising that the community as a whole would bitch about exclusives, but then when exclusives are more opened, now the loud opinion is how dare there not be exclusives.
The bigger thing is that at least Sony is still making/publishing games, whereas Microsoft for a long time, just kinda wasn't.
Eh. Fanbois love to move goalposts
You saw it with android and apple for years. Android would add some new feature. Apple fanbois would call it dumb. Apple would add it, they'd praise it. People would point at the hypocrisy, apple fans would claim its better (despite being the same). Rinse and repeat.
Same with defending hardly any ram. Etc
Samsung technically copied the rectangle
Was wild times
Yup, and it goes both ways as well.
I donât know about others on here, but while Android users were rightfully making fun of Apple when they first started getting rid of the headphone jack, I (for some godawful reason I still donât understand, even as an iPhone user) saw way too many people defending when most Android phone devs started getting rid of the headphone jack as well, saying âitâs different because theyâre using USB-C for the dongles, which is way better than Lightningâ, even though dongles suck regardless.
Amen. Dongles are the worst
USB c still better than lightning. But both can die in a fire
Same with removing microSD slots
God, that and the headphones in particular was the bullshit that convinced me to stay with iPhone when I was starting to debate switching.
Why the hell would I swap from Apple to Android if all the phones my phone plan offered had the exact same issues I was resenting in Apple, on top of outright being more expensive?
iPhone moving to glass backs. Then android followed. Etc.
It's wild people fought over their products as if making them shittier was better
Like come on! Iâm giving you the perfect opportunity to convince me to buy your stuff instead, and you decide to enshitify and bloat the price on your stuff the exact moment I actually have the chance to switch?
dont mention those accursed things
Motorola and sony kept headphones jacks and SD card slots for a bit at least
genuinely the worst
Of course Sony phones also cost more than iphones

So nintendo have maked some new "patents" I don't know how to say it in english
The double screen thing and camera is really possible
But it's not sure
"Patents" is correct!
A second screen attachment would be amazing for 3ds and ds backlog
Might honestly get me to care less about a dual screen handheld
BETRAYAL
oh sorry caps lock was on
SooâŠdid this guy in any way mention that the âproductsâ on the thumbnail were from fan renders?
hey its french
im vaguely okay at that
finally comprehensible input
this guy says its real
not a rumor
but i'm not that good at french lemme listen some more
Im french
The guy basically said it's possible
Because there's some patents
That shows that feature
smart fella is commentating
listen all!
but hes not talking about the dual screen is he?
just the usb c and aux jack are rotatable
past the part where he shows the switch render idk enough french for that
He talks about it
im dumb đŠ
Damn dude. Not gonna lie. That second screen def ultimate SP. Lol
Wasn't there a port or sensor on top that people were speculating about?
Yeah
Dude. So many posibilities
Getting more excited. Was hoping Nintendo wouldn't fail us on some weird stuff. Lol
but he has such an easy to understand accent for french learners and i still dont get it
that videos like so easy to understand they should use it as a listening practice when they get to tech related units for french classes
You know I used to struggle with english too
But just listen to more french videos
Even if it's 5 minutes
And on something that interest you
You'll see you will learn more
It's what I did and now im not that bad talking and understanding english
I imagine some of it is the content tho? I always found that anything technical in language can be dense
Trying to figure out Chinese for any hardware descriptions can be a nightmare
Yeah true
this guy seemed to be more of a general news overview type fella
wulff den
not subway intel p core
Yeah EMB just do daily gaming news
It's his principal content
He have two other channels too that play games and cook
He do everything lol.
Haha. Every French content creator has cook
every retro creator cooks
subway intel p core wrote cookboks
Not that it's a bad thing. French cuisine
Yeah french cuisine is amazing
ok there were a bunch of words i didnt get but the video is generally comprehensible
Ok, so he at least acknowledges that theyâre fan renders?
Alright, that was the only thing I was really concerned about since itâs particularly bad when people pretend fan renders are real leaked designs since the people who made that render end up getting a potential target on their back that might not be used, but is still not ok regardless.
And we all know how the French feel about significant figures lying
Is there a reliable source for this?
I don't think we should count out pizza making abilities until Nintendo themselves deconfirms it
If they used a larger transistor size it would still eork
Completely and categorically false. The top usb port indicates that an oven accessory is currently in the works
And a dual screen
Coincidentally this is similar power to the d8300
Y'know what else has a d8300? And a second screen (accessory)
Powkiddy keeps winning
Exynos on top!!!!
no way
That's what i'm here for, to provide useless info đ
wake me up when street pass 2 is announced
I can't see a comfy way to carry 8 inches in your everyday pants
Maybe massive cargo pants
you'd be surprised
I definitely can't relate
Ok, thatâs pretty funny.
After what Nintendo has done to the competitive smash scene, modding community & going after content creators I'm not giving them my money
Tbf, the Smash community brought that on themselves, but the others are understandable
How is Nintendo saying that if they have a smash tournament they will sue tournament organizers on the smash community?
Twitter: https://twitter.com/danyal249
Twitch: https://www.twitch.tv/danyal249
We take a deep dive into the history of Project Plus/Project M and the communityâs seemingly ever-lasting battle to keep their game alive. While the battles theyâve faced, especially against Nintendo, would usually spell the death of many other communities, the P+ sc...
They're talking about the multiple Smash community members, that were child predators. The big drama from like five years ago.
That really doesn't have anything to do with Nintendo's actions on them
Like when they shut down a tournament for using a mod to be able to play Melee remotely DURING THE COVID SHUTDOWN
There isn't exactly much else to qualify as "brought that on themselves"
oh no, I missed out on this completely, who was outed?
Zero is the big one I remember
the Brawl guy?
Iâm not even joking when I say âmost of the ones currently in Competitive Smash at the timeâ.
Like, the effective worst part is that it was most of the leaderboard.
This is a summary of it that I just found:
https://www.reddit.com/r/nintendo/comments/hlyrgs/regarding_sexual_assault_allegations_in_the_super/fx2i54g/
I am extremely out of the loop because the only names I recognize here are D1, sky williams, and m2k
Probably, I have no idea. I never really followed competitive smash.
that is insane though, sheesh
Yeah it became a big thing that you can never trust a smash player to take a shower or to be around a child. That has nothing to do with what Nintendo does though and their actions are far more in line with how they normally treat modifications and the fan community at large. Nintendo doesn't like their fans and they especially don't like their fans trying to enjoy Nintendo products in a way outside of the company's intention
If you ask them "how else were we supposed to play Melee competitively during lockdown" they'd say "you were supposed to get a Nintendo Switch Online account and play Ultimate!" if you ask them how you're supposed to play F-Zero GX or Super Paper Mario or Fire Emblem Path of Radiance they'd say "no, you're supposed to be playing the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe game for the Nintendo Switch family of consumer electronics or Paper Mario The Origami King or Fire Emblem Engage"
It's a shame because they basically make the only big games I'm interested in these days. It's basically all Nintendo, indies, and maybe a bit of Capcom stuff like Monster Hunter
For the second "if" they've actually answered that question officially iirc.
The answer is to buy a Gamecube and a copy of the game. No they won't see any of that money, but that's still their answer lol. Instead of just selling those games to people that would amost certainly buy them.
Minecraft YouTubers and competitive smash players are like 90% child predators
I mean I think they'd rather you just play what they're releasing and maybe if you're a good little sigma they'll rerelease the game you actually want to play, but only if you sit and lay down and roll over
Nintendo is an ancient Japanese company that really only wants to to care about what they are currently selling. If they sell you an old game, you will buy it again at full price.
Nintendo would rather you take what they give you
SEGA meanwhile is more than open to Sonic fan games
Because they mostly make money on merch/licensing
Famously that laid-back attitude led to Sonic Mania
What's the story with mania?
Sometimes it pops up as official
Sometimes it seems unofficial
it's made by fans but it's official
If I remember the story the dev team of Sonic Mania was making it, pitched it to Sega, and Sega went "oh this is cool" and decided to back it.
It helped that Christian Whitehead had made the mobile ports of Sonic 1, 2, and CD. So it wasn't just some random fan coming up to Sega. It was someone that had already been a business partner with them.
I'm choosing to believe "SecretBoy" regarding this https://thegamepost.com/nintendo-switch-2-leak-huge-display-upgrade-specs/
Seems too fancy to me with Nintendo.
120 Hz doesn't mean they expect their chipset to reach that framerate, but 120 hz will allow 40 fps, which I think is a pretty sweet spot for "game that can't reach 60 fps but can do better than just 30"
I am very skeptical about this one
Android only just now supports VRR on Android 15 and the driver stack in Horizon is built off AOSP so my doubt meter is high
No way
That's too fancy
I mean it's vrr
The April reveal seemed so far away⊠but itâs nearly here now!

VRR just means the next Pokemon game can run at 20 fps with vsync on
And 21 without
Dunno if new or valid
100% doubt for me
Considering my switch was basically an indie machine (that was replaced by steam deck) everything Iâve seen so far is a resounding meh for me
If true, then they are not using the PS Portal screen that was initially rumoured. Donât think PS Portal can do 120hz VRR. But happy to be wrong. PS portal screen is really nice
120hz screens probably barely costs more money than 60hz ones these days
Honestly it sounds so ridiculous that it sounds about right to me.
I can totally see Nintendo prioritizing 120Hz over OLED
we have seen screens on anbernic devices secretly being able to do 120hz. maybe high refresh rate is not as costly as we all thought
personally I'd take 120hz LCD with VRR over OLED anyday
only 10 more days until the direct. damn we're really really close
They will in the future but they wouldn't say it now
If Horizon is still based on the Android driver stack Iâll be really shocked if it has support in the OS for VRR since thatâs only come with Android 15.
Itâs more likely that the system will do what Valve does and do Adjustable Refresh Rate where the system can set the display and game to a static 70hz if the game struggles to go beyond 70 etc.
this is a interesting way to do it. I donât like how the valve does it and hoping they will go VRR for next gen
The way Valve handles it is pretty much the way most ARM device have to handle it for a while
especially true for small screens
man now that we have a handheld with some actual rt cores plus its nvidia, there so much potential. obviously rt would be too costly for most games
but i could 100% see it being used in Luigis Mansion 4
LM only needs to render one room at a time, at a single camera angle most of the time, so i think they could pull it off performance wise
it would be so cool to have all the ghosts have a realistic glow, and have luigi's flashlight light the room like a real flash light would
A lot of midrange phones these days are shipping with higher refresh rates, it wouldn't actually surprise me if we got a 120hz display
But I'm not holding my breath
There are phones at $200 with 120hz displays lol
only reason i can see nintendo going 120, is because a 60hz vrr screen costs about the same as a 120hz vrr screen atp
highy doubt any nintendo first parties will target above 60fps
its likely gonna be more important for third party games tho to target 40/45fps
I could see something lighter like a potential mario maker 3 or something to target 120fps
maybe
indie games mayeb could do 120
but youd have to consider battery life
could see a lot more games with unlocked fps
they could do BFI on the NSO retro consoles
any switch 1 game with unlocked fps orignally could go crazy
whats bfi
black frame insertion
heck yeah
nintens emulators are so hlaf baked tho
highly doubt wed ever get something like that
lol
def not
wont lie the little glimpse of mk9 we saw isnt that crazy impressive, but im guessing they intentionally chose a neutral looking stage
the lighting is just super flat in that stage
I'm holding my reservations until I see more titles
something tells me mk9 might be cross gen
I think most of the titles we're gonna see next week will be cross gen
they're going to show off just how much better they'll look and run on the new hardware
especially a game like metroid prime 4
it really depends how much they put into switch 2 version
in the past cross gen titles basically get developed for the old hardware
and then rushed onto the new platform with very minor improvements
tbf i think the yt compression of the reveal trailer didnt help it that much
plus the footage was far more zoomed out then actual gameplay would be
if its cross gen i wouldnt be suprised if 24 player mode is switch 2 exclusive
12 player only on switch 1
who knows how it'll be handled, but from nintendo's perspective there's around 150m~ switch 1 units out there
they're going to likely cross gen most of their titles until the switch 2 catches up to a comfortable level
we probably already know all of the "cross gen" games lol
pokemon legends za, metroid prime 4
i wonder if nintendo will make dedicated switch 2 physical releases for anything cross gen, or only ship a switch 1 box
maybe they'll go the gameboy color route, and have backwards compatible carts that are coloured differently or something
They probably will but in Europe it's 50/50
i was honestly surprised the pokemon day direct didnt mention anything about pokemon legends and switch 2, maybe they cant until nintendos direct.
Because some switch 1 games doesn't get physical cartridge at all just download box
at least just throw a 60fps patch in
a huge amount of switch games already have 60fps mode hidden in the code
they probably want to save any and all hype for april
as far as im aware, its been found for paper mario oragami king, paper mario ttyd, xenoblade chronicles x, lm 2 hd, and lm 3
some of these games were being made around the time the switch pro was being rumoured, so it makes sense for them to make them scalable
nintendo first parties?
some third party games did that bs here in the US
people can say cope, but I really do think the switch pro was planned, but the chipped shortage basically prevented it so we just got the oled upgrade
its been shown that by only adding 4 more gbs of ram to the og switch would make a night and day difference
I think it's an open secret that the switch pro was planned around 2020, but covid happened and then the chip shortage
hopefully switch 2 backwards compat, will have handheld mode, running switch 1 games in their docked mode internally
another thing i wish well see more of on switch 2 is anti alasing
part of me hopes that we get next-gen patches to games like on the PS4-5
holy some games look super jaggy
id be happy with just free 60fps and Resolution patches
maybe pokemon scarlet will finally be playable
then if they wanna do full remasters showing off how much better switch 2 is, do like a $10 upgrade fee
especially if its remasters on the level of like Metroid Prime Remastered
prime level remasters will likely just be sold wholesale
at least give fps patches for free, because its honestly criminal how some switch 1 games released
I think about how sony have next gen patches for horizon and last of us remastered, but they also made next gen remasters for those games (really stupid and confusing IMO)
then if they try to double dip with switch 1 remasters at full price
i can just ignore them unless i really need it lol
watch next gen patches be exclusive to NSO members
đ
hope we get prime 4 on this switch
that's all but guaranteed
I'm gonna be very surprised if it's not there on the 2nd
April 2nd is literally 9 days away y'all. The wait is almost over.
And I'm desperate for more Prime 4 info, the actual trailer didn't give much to chew on lol
we need a new fzero
nintendo literally sitting on their own forza killer
And there are phones that cost 800 with 60 hzđ€Ą
same thing with metroid prime for halo
nah its still a niche i think
but i like when niche games get a successor like kid icarus/ f zero etc.
kid icarus uprising was such a gem
my money is on sakurais new game is a kid icarus remake
yea we dont need another smash, i want kid icarus
I've been wanting an Uprising port with regular controls for so dang long now
That game looks right up my alley but I can't get into the controls
There is a m+kb mod on emulator but I've been holding out hope there'll be an official option lol
quite the opposite. With 120 hz screen, then Nintendo and third parties can do things like target 40 fps. And if it even has VRR, that basically opens all the room for easier performance targets.
It's 3ds only?
unfortunately so, I loved that game
35 fps!
Yeah they still haven't ported it to anything
It's very strange. Sakurai seemed like he really really wanted to push this new Kid Icarus as a big series and then it just didn't happen
I'm still having trouble with VRR display leak. I don't believe they will go VRR at all. They can go 120 since it might be the same cost but just don't see it being VRR
The only thing that will run on 120fps would be the systems menu then
Maybe vrr when on docked
Maybe celeste
i also dont see how nintendos games would be below 60 this gen
It would be important for them to have a display that exceeded the capability of the chipset for most games, much like so many switch games not hitting 60. đ
40 fps is less than the Switch 2's capacity for the games that will be released on it this year.
No oled makes sense if itâs vrr - no oled flickering
Super SP on top!!!!!!!
no oled because its nintendo and they always release a newer model a few years down the line
Would love OLED but honestly some IPS are really nice these days. Will just do the normal upgrade at some point
But also, we know they will add OLED later like they did with switch 1. VRR makes less sense
so what I'm hearing is wait until the holidays to consider buying
So basically most of them probably had a dev kits like Microsoft capcom but not all of them
Personally I will wait as well
Unless like Mario Odyssey comes out
There's a Nintendo Direct coming this week!
Well it looks like Nintendo is about to be quite active over the next week with another event now expected in the next 48 hours. Microsoft continues their big PS5 push with another game being set for release next month.

All im hearing is silksong oct-nov
I'm already buying Switch 2 early on its release cycle because I need a replacement for my Switch OLED for a "high end way to play Switch games"
At this point I'd consider any potential good Switch 2 game a bonus.
You ain't lying and plus it's backwards compatibility with switch 1 games who need that boost upgrades from visual , frame rate
Yeah man. It's like a no-brainer
yeah but you'll lose OLED
If mario kart 9 is a launch title I'll be set until holidays haha I love mk8
im seeing great deals on switches
still holding out for above 20 fps gameplay
and hopefully we are blessed with rcm jig round 2
I hope ckrd come out with a nitro deck 2 sooner than later after launch
Feels like one of those rumors that basically say nothing
There's no way that Sega, Capcom, and Ubisoft doesn't have dev kits yet
I think my plan is to get a switch 2 and just keep it docked to play my switch library in higher fidelity & fps on my TV while my switch OLED gets relegated to strictly handheld status to make better consistent use of that display
i'll trade up if theres no rcm jig
I don't know what those letters mean
Maybe? Nintendo pretty notorious for slow rolling 3rd party dev
notorious hack for early switches
that made them easily moddable by touching two contacts that were cleanly visible togethger
to trigger recovery mode
Have one on my launch switch
I am sure third party studios have some kits already
silk song????
Sure but nintendos gonna want some kind of third party present on switch 2 launch. They even had a couple third party games with the first switch at launch although it wasn't a lot
i think imma just go on ebay and buy a banned v1 switch
i aint paying those bums anyway
for online
im buying the games obv
if i wasnt buying i'd emulate
sd8 gen 3 does 4k smash ultimate spectacularly!
you wouldnt believe it
the switch had third party games at launch so I find that "rumor" already to be meh
Also Sega, Capcom, and Ubisoft have been 2nd parties working with nintendos IPs in the past.
Mario & Sonic, Zelda Minish Cap, Mario + Rabbids
So I feel like they'd get priority on early kits
Same with Bandai namco since they literally do smash
the only rumor I really want to happen is hall effect sticks
Dual screen attachment
Why would there be no need
That attachment would be $200
its just gonna be something companies won't want to work with when its gonna be in a dock probably for half the people using
Im still buying it đ
8 inches
plus that thing sounds like it would just get heavier in handheld
Can't be that heavy
The original switch is less than a pound
If I remember nintendo has a patent for something that's basically the similar result of hall effect joy sticks
I just hope they don't try a 1-2 switch game again lol
Arm handhelds are lighter usually
BETRAYAL!!!!!!!
Wish they would do a Nintendo Land 2, or another Clubhouse Games
sold out to nintendo
As the launch casual game
I just want some banger launch games
I want mh4u and mh3u port
probably won't happen but I hope metroid 4 becomes a launch title
Hope we get multiple games not just mario kart 9
You're getting breath of the wild remaster
Yeah I wonder what's the deal with metroid prime 4 and pokemon legends
When it comes to switch 2
splatoon 4 better run butter smooth whenever they announce that
I think we'll get the next animal crossing before the next splatoon
If I buy a v1 switch 2, there's a greater chance I can mod it
I hope they take feedback from new horizons
not that
the ds attaachment
im doing the same with the v1
Game was basically incomplete at launch compared to what was in New Leaf
It's probably not happening tbh
Sean's not here
Yh but oled is like second chance someone who never own switch I rather get the switch 2 lcd
Switch heavy that one will be light like plate
True but switch 1 games is enough especially we are talking about boost the visuals , frame rate and upgrades
Feel like getting one near launch and keeping it offline after getting the necessary updates/DLCs for switch 1 games.
Best chance of having a potential software moddable unit.
I'll stick with switch 1 games
Hard switch 1 carts mean 100 compatibility
Or I only play launch titles
Then I won't need to update to play a game
But what will I even do with a mod?
I'm not pirating
Literally anything else will play emulation better
I "lost OLED" already when my OLED Switch broke out of a sudden and I had to go back to my OG Switch. Although the change was sad, you get used to it and it's not like the Switch 2's screen is going to be bad.
Downgrading the screen type for a handheld console sequel is pretty lame ngl
It'd be like if they made a steam deck 2 and it wasn't oled
Yeah. But the LCD is still gonna be light-years greater than the og switches
Even just buying handhelds over the years they've gotten pretty solid
Nintendo is all about tried and tested hardware. It's what gets their prices low and their hardware pretty amazingly consistent and failure free
It makes sense they'd look at implementing something like vrr and the OLED artifacts it brings, and want to hold off until it's more ironed out (if that's even solvable)
I don't think anyone should be surprised that Nintendo aren't launching with a oled screen at this point
They make more money doing it this way
I just want more stable games
I don't want to worry about fps drops and would love 1080p handheld mode
Everyone knows that companies do this
I just want stable games, affordable solid hardware. And some fun exclusives. And we know we'll get those
And sure I'll buy the OLED when it drops, and it'll also be somewhat affordable because it's behind the curve. And then I'll replay everything again đ
I'm most excited how they improve their first party games or create a new exclusive games
Then upgrade from switch 1 games
And third party games
Yeah. Would be cool to get a new IP out of it. Or even a really old one refreshed
Everyone always puts the extra screen on top in these mockups but I'd rather a slightly smaller screen underneath, otherwise it's going to be top heavy and uncomfortable
Well then it'd would just get in your way
Monster Hunter 3u and 4u port, Mhworld port, Mhwilds port, bloodborne 60 fps port, Demon Soul's original port, Armored Core 6 Port, Dark souls 2 non sotfs port, Dark soul 3, Armored Core 1-5 Port including last raven, Uncharted 1-3 port, Gears of War 2 and 3 port. Halo Master Chief Collection, Fable 2 and 3
đđđ
I can't imagine there'll be too many big announcements in this direct
Maybe some prime 4 infos
that's likely gonna be the most exciting thing, outside of maybe a 3DS port/remaster
the rest will likely just be lower spec third party games
get ready to take a shot every time you see a farming life sim
I dunno. Maybe some accessory announcements
I'm still hopeful the magnetic attachments will get done cool options besides just joycons
Come on Wind Waker HD!!!!
It has to be now! Please!
I really don't think there'll be anything to get too excited by at this direct
all the juicy stuff is likely to be shown off next week when they show off the switch 2
đđŸ
Id rather have them focus on a new game then another remaster tbh Its not hard to get a old wii or download dolphin and play it that way
Yea would be fun but i dunno
It's basically a brand new game at that point tho. With just similarities here and there
Minish cap sequel!
What are we getting tomorrow? No switch 2 games but more of Metroid 4? What else are they cooking?
all we know is that it's nothing about the switch 2
Usually the remakes/remasters are handled by other teams while their primary devs are working on the next mainline thing
Link Between Worlds isn't a remake though. If anything it's more like TotK, it uses the same overworld map and modifies it a lot but everything else is new.
WWHD would be nice because yes you can play the original on Dolphin, but HD has improvements over the original and is harder to emulate. Original does have a patch for some improvements but it's not exactly the same
I just hope if they do re-release WWHD that there's an option to take the WWHD stank off of it. Not a fan of the intense bloom lol
https://www.gamereactor.es/capcom-sobre-monster-hunter-wilds-para-nintendo-switch-2-necesitamos-aprender-como-sacarle-el-maximo-partido-1337563/ I'm injecting the hopium straight into my bloodstream
I'm providing
I'll join you in this
I just want to play Wilds portably without needing a damn super computer
Do you think it'll be oled? If it wont I will not be likely to be interested
It's probably not OLED
Well or get vrr to work with no visual hiccups
After today's Nintendo's Direct, I'm not sure if they know what they're doing. An App for Nintendo??
As someone with kids with their own accounts, virtual game cards is awesome
it's about what I expected, mostly third party games.
saying that, I'm excited for rhythm heaven and tomodachi life
So, what do ya think the chances are that next week they'll announce a Switch 2 Lite releasing alongside the full sized Switch 2 and not make the people who don't want a gargantuan boat of a handheld wait 2 years for a Lite version this time?
Make the switch 2 lite a clam
It's crazy to me though that the switch 2 is going to be bigger than a fair chunk of pc handhelds
Between the bigger size of the Switch 2 and undoubtedly higher price tag it seems like a Lite version should be almost guaranteed, it's just kind of a question of when it's coming at this point. I know I'll be holding off on buying a Switch 2 until the Lite version comes out, I just hope it's sooner rather than later!
they're not gonna overcomplicate their SKUs this early on
I can't see it
omg naaahh
nintendo is doing tiktok now?
it's a news feed app afaik
A small relatively pocketable arm handheld that could play new games is going to be amazing
if nintendo makes a 6.2 inch switch 2 clamshell I am so fucking in
I wouldn't care what anybody says
I dont disagree but why 6.2 inch in particular
7 inch is kinda pushing it but 6.2 inch clamshells can definitely be pocketable
I just want the same form factor and size of the Switch Lite with the new Switch 2 processor and hall sensor sticks. My desires are simple lol
Maybe inset the D-pad a little if they're feeling generous.
And they've done similar things on previous launches and then shuts them down after a bit. Not that they'll shut this down. But they do all kinds of stuff around launches
Guess I'll just hurry up and wait then XD
Yeah. Lite with the hardware would be dope
I kind of get the feeling the app is going to die once the switch 2 is fully released
the lite doesn't appeal to me personally, because I like the whole switching aspect of the switch
I played my switch 1 like 60% docked
Yeah. That wouldn't shock me. And honestly that's fine. Probably let's them do more too than relying on other social media platforms
Honestly if it notifies me for directs I can watch I'll keep it. Lol
Can the switch 1 lite not dock?
nope, it's handheld mode only
Not officially but there's workarounds iirc
Honestly the switch lite is such an underrated deal
They go for real cheap on ebay
What's a workaround other than mod? Because it is diffecult to mod the lite switch
I'm not sure tbh, I think you have to jailbreak it at minimum
Ah. That's wild. I just have a launch LCD and OLED
Would probably get lites for kids tho
Them being able to share virtual cartridges is awesome
Having to have a primary device that only allows access to all accounts is annoying
6.3 inch 1440p OLED

So I guess you are not getting performance improvements in Switch 1 games without paying for them again, that's great.
Virtual Game Cards page from Nintendo
Also makes a mention of "Nintendo Switch 2 Edition games" in the fine print
www.nintendo.com/us/gaming-sy...
It depends on what games actually need it the most
Wish it can be every switch 1 games
If it at least gets to the perf targets that the switch 1 couldn't meet I'll be happy
honestly i wouldnt be so sure
if the rumors are true third parties are getting to choose how to handle switch 2 editions whether its free, an upgrade fee
or full price
doesn't necessarily say one way or another of what nintendo is planning
the fact nintendo is even allowing digital game sharing feels like an act of good faith and is a weirdly pro consumer move from ninten
"Nintendo switch 2 edition games" damn it nintendo
Actually
They could just be trying to prevent people from complaining they can't use xbox or ps5 third party games on the switch 2
id wait for the direct next week
well know everything by then
Switch 2 clamshell announcement
my guess with switch 2 "performance boost" on Switch 1 games will either cost a dlc fee ($10?), or you get them for free with the NSO expansion pass
I'm thinking it's going to retail at $400
450 at the high end
Oled edition maybe
That's why you buy at launch, and keep it under lock and key till a hack releases
Which will likely be years away
The first switch was hacked pretty quickly I believe
but they had the holy grail of shitty design
shitty security anyway
android drivers
android recovery
rcm jig
I think the switch 2 will take longer
it's always unpredictable with new hardware what vulnerabilities it'll have
Only because of the Nvidia backdoor
Without that it probably still wouldnât be hacked
I dunno. Most Nintendo consoles get a jailbreak at some point
I also wonder if finding that early jail break on early units killed some of the impetus to find any further exploits
Def possible. Tho I think the OLED reopened that desire
I think it only accelerated it.
Security is a lot more than it was for older consoles now. The only way hackers got the bootloader files and such was because of the Nvidia snafu on the OG and that enabled hardware mods.
And just like the 3ds the other ones haven't been revealed yet
Yeah, and yet sometimes you could also have hardware like the Xbox360 that still doesnât have any form of permanent way to run custom firmware via a soft mod, only a patchwork solution that is significantly worse than hard mods.

Skull and Co have made an actual mouse accessory
There's really low interest for looking for 360 vulns or perhaps even revealing them to the wild since dev mode is available anyway.
We don't really know what will happen with the Switch 2. But I sure hope it gets pwned. Otherwise we can always try getting the EU to mandate alt stores and sideloading have to be available.
Switch 2 lite clamshell is coming
Yeah it has that indoor misting machine look to it
I was very disappointed with the performance of most Switch ports, especially Doom, Sifu, Witcher and Nier Automata that I ended up not playing them at all. I really donât mind simple graphics, but when the FPS are low then it really takes the fun out of âpick up and playâ for me. If Nintendo promises backwards compatibility with improved performance (unstable FPS and dynamic resolution should improve without changing the code, right?) then itâs an instand buy for me. I have so many unfinished games on my Switch 1âŠ
Think that was more a product of it being one of the first handheld consoles. Sounds like power wise this will be way more mainstream. Something 3rd parties might not hesitate to build towards. The fact that it sounds like they're launching with some 3rd party ports out the gate is at least promising. Switch 1 was more of a, if we build it maybe they'll come experiment. It just has had older hardware for a loooooong time
Yeah the Switch definitely felt like a
"Lets see if this works"
And now they're actually refining it after it's bombastic success
Becoming the best selling console yet
Yeah, they made it bigger. I would have hoped for around the same size but with better grips
Def feel like they could have kept it smaller and still thrown in a larger screen. But I'm sure it'll be fine
https://wccftech.com/nintendo-switch-2-joy-con-c-button-second-screen/ If this is true then the chances of nintendo making a dual screen attachment are even smaller than they already are
this is highly unlikely
nintendo has done some dumb shit but
making features that require the previous console would take the cake for stupid
because either they have to continue to sell the old models, or just accept that only a percentage of buyers will be able to use that feature
highly more likely is they use the switch 2 tablet like the wiiu tablet and just stream to your smart tv
in fairness the switch is the second most sold nintendo devise I think
yeah theres a lot of them out there but making a feature that required a whole ass second console would be just really really dumb
well I think the gamecube had something similar
oh wait no I think that worked differently đ€
gamecube let you use your gba as a controller and play your gba games on it
the above implies that to play certain games you would NEED the old switch
a totally different thing
one is optional, the other is a requirement
the switch 2 has backwards compatability I think
that really has no bearing on the above articles supposed leak of using the old switch as a second screen for the switch 2
that would just imply display out I think?
The leaks just keep getting better đ
ill say again since it got buried in ....., this leak is highly unlikely to be correct
its far more likely to use the tablet and stream to a smart tv, since everyone has those and wouldnt require purchasing the old switch
even the comments on the article are calling it bs
And you know it's real when the comments are saying that
The comments on any article are the most braindead stupid people ever known to mankind
So if they can realize it's fake
It's fake
I could still see some sort of screencasting feature in the switch 2 just not like this, or they could just use a wired connection
I'm not sure why their first assumption was that it would use the original switch lol
I mean better in the sense that they are reaching
Requiring a switch 1 screen for a switch 2 feature is bizarre
Unless the Dock is a lot more sophisticated than it currently is, this also sounds pretty unlikely.
dont need a dock to stream to a smart tv
A smart TV can be a big ask in JP
sounds like a them problem
There have been Switch 1 games that could use multiple Switch Tablets to work. I am pretty sure they will try to expand on that, but most likely will never be intended as a "core" feature.
it definitely seems like theres mroe to the dock for switch 2 than before at any rate so it could easily handle streaming if they put that in there
The real question is will they be launching some new amiibos with switch 2!
Sounds like my dream. I hate smart tvs
Underpowered chips. Not enough ram. Horrible thermals. And they usually turn into lag city a year later
Just give me a dumb TV. Knock the price down. And let me plug in a shield TV/AppleTV
I don't want it then. Moonlight is horrible on a smart TV because the chip is too weak to decode fast
I want a properietary protocol to minimize lag
And whatever a smart TV can do won't do it
Like 2.4 GHz or whatever
Shield TV work?
Idk
i have one, i should try
got an apple tv too, which i think people have sideloaded it onto
but yeah, i'd die for TVs to be dumb again, and Nvidia to release a goddamn new streaming box
who knows, maybe SteamOS boxes will be a thing in the near future
as long as it has a normie launch pad for the normies in the house, I'd just replace all my streaming boxes with em
pretty sure that C button feature is for families with like 3-4 switches. Means they can buy one and then little jimmy can stream his switch 2 game to his battered old switch lite
That doesnÂŽt sound practical. Like, you could just lend the Switch 2 to Jimmy
It's not like you are going to be able to stream a game to Jimmy while playing something else on the Switch 2.
Stream off the Switch 2 to the Switch Lite while you watch TV in the main room and little Jimmy wants to play Switch
Why not lend him the switch 2
There's no way they restrict features to old products
Just give them the switch 2?
What is the problem here
The reveal Wednesday?? Iâm back on the hype train
April 2nd
is anyone else waiting for lite? or just buy and then wait for some form of jailbreak?
Buy and wait for jailbreak. I have enough backlog of titles that should just run better
This
I rather buy and wait for a jailbreak that will allow me more room for performance
Thatâs not guaranteed
If only it was portable! /S.
Youâd think their security would be cranked up on the switch 2
The real use for the c button
Any price predictions?
I think this tariff nonsense will force them to start at $449 and everyone will lose their shit.
still gonna say $399
Yeah $399 or itâll be $449 with a free game
$399 feels right for Nintendo, but if the economy gets weird, I can't see them raising the price after launch
Didn't the Lenovo Legion tablet just raise their MSRP after launch?
Possibly, they initially said $499 but itâs listed at $549 at BestBuy. Not sure if a BestBuy tax or what
I wonder if they'll have seperate SKUs with more on-board storage, and charge $75 extra or something
I just want to know how much I'm spending on the official mouse pad.
I have the mario paint mousepad, I guess I could use that lol
Doubt it. Nintendo doesnât like to over complicate things
I remember they did it with the Wii U
400 to 499
I love for them to get 400 price but more time we can see the price would be 450 to 499
What if switch 2 can boot into steam os and they release an official 8bitdo x Nintendo keyboard to go with your joycon mouse.
sounds just like nintendo
The C Button on the Nintendo Switch 2 is one of the big mysteries that still remains around the system. So what is it? Here's our theory for what it could be.
Check out our full predictions video for everything we expect to see in the Switch 2 Nintendo Direct!

đ
But hey, that's just a theory.
Iâd just want some sort of Moonlight variant lol
Okay so it's not just me
Feel like that's the most realistic outcome
Wont happen
Lol, I know.
Hopefully weâll see alot of support for the mouse, strategy games, fps with joycon+mouse etc
Hopefully we'll see switch 3
And will we either see a new mario game or a new donkey kong game
nah, I'm more excited for switch 4
nah man thats going to be a bad console it usually is like this at nintendo:
gamecube = bad console
wii = good console
wii u = bad console
switch = good console
switch 2 = bad console
switch 3 = good console
Switch 5 it is then
Nah switch 2 will be good but switch 3 will be rubbish
nah man look at my analysis
Oh đđđđ
Lmaoooooo
Nintendo Switch 2 Direct scheduled for tomorrow (April 2nd - 6 AM PT) is about 60 minutes long https://t.co/UM40MsQMJV
I do appreciate them launching news at the beginning of the day. Instead of noon or evenings. Get to wake up to fun rather than work a full day in the mines first
One thing I love about nintendo
This is E3 for them
Headshot of the year everyone
So.. just a live stream of games they will release for launch?
I don't know, I mean they want to build hype and all but I won't be watching it
I mean it's their e3 style
The first day of Treehouse Live will be 4 hours long.
The second day of Treehouse Live will be 3 hours long.
This info comes from the Nintendo Today app.
Feel like Nintendo is an older brother who bullied you đ
I wonder if this is going to be Switch 2 games we donât know about, Switch 1 games we do know about that will also release as Switch 2 titles, or if itâll be showing how Switch 1 stuff runs
"2 days of Nintendo announcing release titles and new Switch 2 information... lame..."
Na. I don't care about about them showing them playing games. I will watch trailer tomorrow. I can see why they're doing it but I don't care for it
Nah it's switch 2
7 hours of gameplay for games not released yet sounds too hopeful lol
I hope to be wrong though
But they could fuck it and add 1 or 2 switch 1 games for upscale games as well
Like demo
Eh. At their switch 1 launch party they had like 8 playable games. In this case I think they'll def showcase some 1 games with new power
The whole devkit thing worries me though about how many games will release with it that are true Switch 2 games
And not switch 1 holdovers with a 2 slapped on the box
Well I mean nintendo want to see how many developers would support switch 2 now
And if the specs are correct you would expect third party devs to support switch 2 more than switch 1 era
2pm uk time ainât bad
Yep not too late like xbox or playstation
Oh. I wasn't implying that I'd watch it live. It just gives my friends and I something to talk about during the day. And for other people to dissect
I just like the after convo, but don't wanna be up til midnight discussing it
I am a bit concerned about it being bigger, thought the og switch was already big enough
I mean it's lighter it's not heavy
It depends on the person
I think 8 inch screen is amazing idea
Is the only preorder info out there right now the Best Buy Canada stuff from last week?
People are saying the pre order is April 9th
So the way nintendo is moving
8â is ideal
Then have a smaller 5.5â or 6â variant
I agree except if it's switch lite
Whatâs the lite 5â?
Really holding out hope for a Nintendo preorder for NSO members or something
Just to limit scalper availability
You could easily go up .5â on the Lite in the same chassis
Does Nintendo do direct sales much anymore?
Also requiring NSO sucks because NSO sucks lol
Like 5'5 but if they can do switch lite 2 at least 7 inch can be good
If I do get another big handheld I'd want it to at least be steam deck OLED screen sized. The lite can always be smaller. it'd actually be cool if it was more of a differentiator anyway
I like the bigger screen for playing it with the joycons not attached too. Where has it been confirmed to be lighter?
I think it's just a safe bet that it'll be light. Not necessarily lighter
Just looking at the photos I wouldn't be shocked if they went with a sturdy plastic or magnesium casing over metal to reduce weight and increase size.
More likely plastic. But if it's Nintendo plastic I'm fine with that
Yhhh
looks like they finally decided to show it for real
bout time
can't wait for all the terrible takes
Treehouse is the best
I miss E3 so much
It was the best taking 3 days off of work and watch trailers from every company
But the Wii u was good!
Man I wish I hadn't sold my Wii u
HDMI output
Nintendont
And the games looked so much better
720p is crazy
Yea i also really liked it but it sold poorly
I can't wait for cemu to mature
Miiverse was fun af and mariokart 8 and the og splatoon were the most fun times i ever had
With up to 900MB/s read and 600MB/s write, the Lexar PLAY PRO microSDXC Express Card gives gamers an epic performance power-up. With capacity up to 1TB, it also offers space for many AAA games and comes with a limited lifetime warranty. Plus, it's backwards compatible with UHS-I host devices for ...
On preorder and releasing tomarrow.
$200âïžâïžâïž
New one of a kind stuff always starts expensive.
Ig the read speed is pretty insane
That's Express Card for ya
This is the first 1tb model for Express Card.
Although I'm not even sure if the switch 2 will support read times that quick
Switch 2 supports Express Card at that speeds.
That model advertises that is supports switch 2 as well.
It also says it supports the steam deck though, and the SD card slot for that can only do 100 MB/s
I guess we will find out when it comes out.
Keep in mind the switch 1 only really supported 100 MB/s as well
This seems a bit overkill
Well it supports the steam xekc
Just not at full speed
It's pretty misleading
Mannn it is going to be fun
They'll show Pokemon running on the new switch and it'll look and run exactly the same
So glad I'm not a pokemon fan đ
Rom hacks boi
Aren't those basically like mods
gba pokemon rom hacks is on it's own level. But switch hacks are just mods.
I dunno if I ever completed one past base red. Lol
Story was always kinda meh. And the rest was mostly the same stuff
Blasphemy I know
because switch 1 only support UHS-I cards. switch 2 is rumored to support Express, which is a (relatively) new standard
Yeah, I just kind of find that hard to believe
the thing is, anything between UHS-I and Express, like UHS-II, is very unpopular for micro sd
if anything, going straight to Express actually makes a lot of sense
and why do you think Lexar is even releasing this card and lining it up with the switch 2 release đ
Uh marketing
they probably have insider info that we don't know
Refer to the steam deck oled read and write speed if you will
I think you're really missing the point
Just because they say you can use it doesn't mean it's going to actually use that much speed
It banks on people wanting the best of the best, even when it's not necessary
obviously nobody is getting this for their steam deck
unless they are seriously misinformed
If it was officially licensed by Nintendo then maybe I'd believe it, but for now to me just seems like a common marketing tactic
I mean if switch 2 does support the Express standard then it will take advantage of the speed 100%
Well I mean yeah
like... the logic is quite simple. it would definitely not be UHS-I. because it would literally be a deal breaker and a bottleneck for game devs. and anything between UHS-I and Express is not really an option for them just because how unpopular they are. so I'd say Express makes a lot of sense
and Express is not THAT new. the standard was established years ago. I know you are doubting whether Nintendo would be using new tech but in this case I do think it is quite possible
they might even make switch 2 games to only run on express cards (and internal storage)
sony is doing the same thing with ps4/ps5 games on hdd/ssd
I strongly doubt switch will use express. People overestimate how much read bandwidth games use these days. Even ratchet and clank rift apart at 4k runs fine on SATA.
Yeah I'm not so sure about that, Nintendo has somewhat of a reputation of being more budget friendly, and needing the a more expensive sd card type to play games on would definitely piss people off
even sata ssd is much faster than UHS-I cards tho
I'm not saying express-level speed is necessary. just that UHS-I would be a problem
It's going to vary game to game, but aside from loading times games on SD cards usually don't play as badly as you'd think
It won't be. It'll be a way bigger problem forcing people into a nascent format. Nascent in terms of availability not spec
This is a pretty good comparison
https://youtu.be/A-zUZJ4mHUU
How big is the impact on the FPS? What are the loading times?

If they wanted to provide faster expandable storage, it makes way more sense for m2 expansion than microsd express. You can even do it in a way that doesn't require opening the console like some Asus tablets
I think when switch 2 has enough exclusive games to fill the 256gb internal storage, express cards will come down in price significantly.
Couldn't you also then say uhs 2 would become more common if they opted to go with that
Nintendo could license their own official uhs 2 cards then
uhs-ii is pretty much abandoned tech for micro sd tho...
Wouldn't be the first time Nintendo has used old hardware, regardless we'll find out tomorrow
It would be sick if they did use express
well yeah. I just don't believe the rumour was coming out of nowhere
Nintendo rarely uses the most current technology in any hardware release
I'll just wait for actual numbers
and Lexar releasing this now pretty much confirms it for me
barely any other devices outside usb card-readers support express cards. Lexar not only is releasing it (1tb even, when Sandisk only have 256gb ones) but also undercutting Sandisk on the price. I would have to suspect they know something we don't
do you think nintendo will rather do $499 because of tarrifs.
They prob have a first batch of stuff already in warehouse but also, they prob donât want to raise prices after a year down when tariffs are biting them hard
Under $800 is still exempt
A lot of freight isn't covered
So it's hard to know if it'll even effect them
Well and they're in Japan
New f zero game preview this week
Also tarrifs bite us. Not them or anyone else really
Usually Nintendo has worldwide set prices. I doubt there will be any increase to that base price cause of tarrifs
Huh? Ninty will pay the tariffs when they enter the US in the future.
How much they pass onto consumer remains to be seen
But I certainly expect prices to increase by Christmas at least
A truckload of switches doesn't fall under "under $800".
Yeah. It's hard to say. Some are also made in Vietnam. It also just depends on the country of final assembly before it enters the US. But it definitely might
Foxconn could route most through Taiwan as well. I'm sure Apple is talking to them about it
Tarrifs so dumb in a global market
Is wild to think that buying a switch of AliExpress might be cheaper than buying one from any store here đ
Or taobao
At least we'll know and have a way around it
playasia will probably have it too if the price gap is huge
Many things are cheaper to import as individual pieces... Until you need to exercise the warranty
I can totally seem them doing $499
Also, under $800 exceptions is for Aliexpress items bought using usps and other mail
Well. It's for any small purchase.
They also tend not to go through freight
That's how 4px usually gets around it
It just takes longer
The exception being here that it wouldn't be mixed freight. It'll be giant pallets of switches only
$500 would be insane, they would kill their sales. It's pretty easy nowadays to get a series x or ps5 for under that
Yeah. Id guess $400 max without tarrifs
I still think $350. But I know some people bawk at that
$400 without tariffs or they could just gamble and then hope tariffs donât stay too long
I think $400 is most likely tbh, it would still leave room for a potential oled upgrade priced slightly higher, and nintendo almost never lowers the price of their first party games so they're going to make bank on those.
I am no longer bound by the quality of emeral
You might even say I'm unbound
Probably true. My theory is based off SNES, N64 and GC being $200. Wii being $250. Wii U and Switch being $300. OLED $350. So 400 would work. I just appreciate their slow roll. Possibly sticking with IPS to drop another $350
Crazy hyped for tomorrow
Switch 2 $400 and Switch 2 Lite SP at $300, comes with the monster hunter anniversary collection
And dark souls 3 remaster
Yeah. I'm probably wrong
Switch 2 $350. Switch 2 lite $300. Switch 2 OLED $400. Would be dope
I just feel like OLED over $400 might be a hard sell. Nintendo likes to make sales a no-brainer
I mean I'd be ok with that honestly
I also don't buy like every game or games constantly
I expect 400 for the switch 2 I don't see them doing a lite or oled for launch
Maybe like a bundle aswell could be shown
Can pretty much fill a years backlog of games with black Friday bogo
I want to see the next pro controller
Tbh, especially for Nintendo games that's an easy sell for me. High quality shit
I hope the accessories go crazy
Switch 2 would be 400
Just wish they'd go on sale more often
at least on pc if you wait usually you get a pretty good discount
I mean it's nintendo you play it offline
I mean I know we feel like everything premium-ish should be $400+ but we're almost addicts and guaranteed spend too much money on this shit. For the average person who already has 2 or 3 switch ones that's a harder adoption
Fwiw, if you go physical it means they keep decent resell/trade in value too
In the long run it's the one system I don't mind them raising game prices on exactly because of this
Ig I didn't think of that actually
That does suck for people who live for the bargain bin games tho. Def have friends who wait til stuff hits like $5
As far as first party titles go, even at $70, you def get your money's worth of quality game entertainment
That's basically how I do it lol, I have so many games in my backlog so the only times I pay full price are for games I know I'm going to enjoy
Probably going to buy the new doom game for full price
I would say two console that it is fine with offine play is Nintendo and Playstation
Xbox yh forget about physical media
For sure, I'm interested where they're going to take the next xbox, seeing as it's rumored to basically be a prebuilt pc
Honestly, anything south of like 450 isnât going to be difficult to get people to buy
The person who has a single switch and gets it for major releases might be a tougher sell if there isnât a crazy day 1 offering
But people 2 or 3 are probably instant buys
Not difficult to get us to buy. But they want to sell a hundred million of theses
A bunch of kids with switch lites in the same house who want the switch 2
Gonna be slow sales if it's too expensive
Plus all these companies had to have been looking at what happened with the PS5 Pro.
Switch 2 or Switch Pro, Nintendo has to know itâs gonna be a hard sell if they make it a good bit more than $100 above buying a new Switch, much less $100 more than the OLED Switch.
$50 over an OLED though if the current 399 rumors stick
Exactly, hence why Iâm doubtful of specifically it being anything over $400.
Especially if they release titles for switch 1 still
Yeah. It'll be $400.
I mean shit at $450 ill sit it out til holiday bundles XD
I can see $450 with a forced game bundle at launch. But 399 sounds most likely
What Id like to see to hurt scalping is 450 launch with forced game and 2 weeks later the 399 one launch. That way if the launch is scalped 2 weeks later it drops $50 anyways that would cause some scalpers to not do it
Maybe I'm just lucky but I've never really had an issue getting any of the switches at launch. Or the Wii U. Wii was the last time I had to hunt. But online shopping back then was like non-existent
I do end up using a watcher or something if I miss the initial drop, and usually some cancels pop back up
I would say that nintendo need to discount switch oled , og switch and switch lite
Massive
I imagine one of those models, probably the OG, will likely just be discontinued
That one is 699 or 800 if you want blu ray disc drive media
Are those even available yet? Or are people still scalping them?
I never really paid attention
It's available but no one would buy it It's waste of money
Better bet is to buy ps5 with blu Ray edition or ps5 slim version
very available, not even scalpers want them
I mean like
Yeah. I just remember on launch they ran out of stock and it took a while
Don't get me wrong it's not bad as ps5 pro you cam get good boost but like xbox series x even tho no games that console is powerhouse
I'm more impressed with series s power and its so quiet as well
I mean I did buy a 60GB PS3 at launch. So I guess I can't really talk
But at least they had good reason like backwards compatibility, blu Ray
Super computer
Ps5 pro is like
Idk what the benefits of ps5 pro
Yeah. There was differentiating tech back then. Everything's kinda gone homogeneous. Which is why I'm hoping Nintendo has some kind of trick up its sleeve
Switch 2 would be having ps4 level on arm device and having nvidia like potential dlss is enough for me
And battery life
Or the mouse
Mouse is kinda cool. Like I like those things
It's been a while since I've owned and Xbox and PS just cause they seem so same same to me
And little things that nintendo does is so interesting to me
More like pc but in console
Only about 9 hours left until the big reveal

Hype!
Imma say 399. At the end of the day, Nintendo makes the money from the games, not the consoles
So they can sell it at a loss
I believe they've been selling their consoles at a profit since the Wii
Basically the only company not to do the loss leader model for selling their consoles
As much as i hate the pro controller, it will likely be the first for a while with whatever new fad nintendo introduces. So will likely be a day 1 buy also
I hope it's $399, but the world and industry are way different now.
$399, in my opinion, indicates that they want to aggressiely move units. $449-$499, in my opinion, indicates that they don't care how fast it sells. You'll buy one eventually and they can discount/bundle as-needed when the economy settles down. In the meantime, they'll encourage you to play your Switch 1, or buy a Switch 1... as indicated by their recent Direct, they plan to support it.
Believe me, I want $399. đ
They have never sold consoles at a loss, and this is a second Gen follow up to possibly the most successful console of all time. They will feel no pressure to absorb any loss outside of some volatility due to tariffs
I think it'd be weird to have Switch OLED at $349 and Switch 2 at $399. $50 difference between generations might confuse buyers or belittle the value of buying up. **We know the value of OLED, but I don't think that's a common consumer buying point.
C is the clamshell button, you press it and it magically transforms into a clamshell device, defying physics

The C stands for Copyright.
Pressing the button allows you to report any rom websites, fan games, or other copyright infringements directly to Nintendo so they can issue a cease & desist.
