#Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective

Oh man, here’s where I show why my discord username is what it is
End game spoilers below
||so in the end sequence we see yellow haired guy released from a prison which can’t have existed - we were told it was built in response to “the manipulator” who doesn’t exist in this time line
We also see park protecting dude and bird scientist dude investigating the meteor but bird science dude can’t have found out about the meteor without pointy blond hair dying, and without him the government can’t have found out about the radiation, so they wouldn’t have come up with the plan of saying they’d build housing over the park which caused rock god man to leave his job
Also if the existence of Ray proves that those spirits with ghost trick powers exist even after their death has been reversed, shouldn’t the spirits of seissel, our missile and point haired dude still be inhabiting the earth (agree it’s not made explicitly clear that they’re not)
And also, in missile prime’s timeline, pointy haired dude oversees karmilla’s death which can’t make sense timewise, since his body would still be in the possession of the police, since Ray said they didn’t chance anything until the that night ||
This is 100% my brain being picky and not something that will annoy anyone else
Also the character eating chicken directly from the knife, disproportionately disgusted me. Again, me thing
Like this game and the creativity of the writers
to be incredibly honest I thought the game would have been better off without ||Ray and its explanation||
Felt like they complicated things further only to explain a marginal plot point
I would agree
I like that the game has great pacing. The story is interesting and keeps you wanting more. I drop out of AA games because half the cases are nonsense to me
||ray's death was never reversed, he died in the timeline where sissel doesn't do anything and the events of the game don't happen. not the same timeline where you save missile. he went back and made a new timeline and then when he failed to avert yomiel's death he just stayed and hung out. so that's what would happen if sissel failed to avert someone's fate and then just kept going after that.||
||the spirits go back to the future when they successfully avert a fate, ray shows what happens if they dont||
True ||but is he need to explain that in the end. I know the game is just wrapping up all the characters. So there aren’t any questions. I like when a game leaves things a little more open. ||
ok, that's a totally reasonable explanation, consider that
to be overruled
Here's my belief on your points:
||1. That was just likely reusing assets and trying to create some parallelism. They could have built a similar prison for any number of reasons, or it could be any other prison with similar aesthetics.
-
They could have at least seen the meteor shower in the sky and there was still a meteor impact, so he could have had a hobby of just wanting to investigate space rocks. As for them wanting to build houses, meh. Again, they could have found any reason to want to tear down the park.
-
Yeah, old Missile still existing for a bit after the timeline change shouldn't happen. Just a way for them to give some final exposition.
-
Hmm yeah. Actually, you're making me wonder why Yomiel wanted Lynne to kill him in the first place anyway. They wanted to kill Lynne there, and framing her for murder only makes sense if they didn't intend to kill her to begin with...||
There are many ways to react to a continuity error. One is to go “that’s a continuity error” another is to go “yeah but is this possible set of circumstances not cover on camera happened, that wouldn’t be a continuity error” - both are valid, obv
(And it honestly doesn’t matter, it ain’t a big thing)
Made it to Ch 11
Finished up myself yesterday, enjoyed it overall. Didn't think the second half was as good as the first though.
Was maybe expecting more of the rube goldberg machine scenarios, but still very much enjoyed the story, characters and animations. And it certainly didn't out stay it's welcome
Are there missable things in this?
You can miss story beats if you don't click on thought bubbles.
yeah. theres also some brief bonus dialogue if you go to certain locations outside of main story order iirc (i didnt do any of that on this playthrough but i remember there being some on my first playthrough). but u cant like, lock yrself out of winning the game or anything lol its not that kind of adventure game
Made it to chapter 8. Story progressing well - very interested to see how it goes. I do find the over the top animations a bit cringey but story and gameplay is engaging
Right before the harder levels... those start at 14.
Then it gets easier again.
Starting chapter 10. ||I'm going to tape Lynne onto a wall so she can't get into further trouble.||
The wall would probably fall on her

bailey is the best
The best duo in the game.
chapter 15.... WTF
i love inspector cabanela too. ||he's a really good red herring cuz his design and personality kinda remind me of a lot of AA culprits, so getting u to suspect him comes pretty easily||
Just finished. Loved it
At the beginning of chapter 14, there has been two instances where I've been audibly laughing with this game.
||First is when the suitcase opens and Kamila pops out reading magazine and drinking juice casually.||
||The second one just happened
||
||...you?
||
Man, chapter 15 was really tricky.
I needed a guide to ||figure out where to find Missile. I thought I need to find him by possessing something he's in, but apparently just looking around was enough.||
||Figuring out the trash can lid and the knit cap made me feel smart though.||
Finished. This will handily win DOTY
I was originally saying it needs to win story GotY but I have amended that to just, nah, it should win GotY period, not Metroid Prime or OoT
let's not go crazy
it's got better gameplay than most puzzle games i've played but still
That was great.
best retro title I've played this year tbh
its also one of the newest gotx's we've ever done i think lol. 2010
But extremely good!
This game felt way shorter than 12 hours lol.
now I can read all the CIA FOIA shit
How was the game? You seemed to be getting super int oit
I always find that as a mark of a great game. Doesn't feel like it wasted your time.
I have 21 hours in it, but I always run very long on games.
...Also actually I streamed it a bit for a friend of mine. To chapter 4 or 5 I think
I enjoyed the game but I'd probably vote for metroid prime, despite me thinking it wasn't the best choice for retro handhelds
The story in ghost trick was good but the puzzles were a bit too linear imo
Gameplay was novel but I'm not sure I really was enjoying it 15 chapters in
yeah i wish it ramped up a little more puzzle-wise tbh. i think it would have helped if they introdced ||missile's abilities|| sooner or some more gameplay wrinkles
I get the feeling that as a game it didn't have that high of a budget. many animations are replayed (to great comedic effect, however) and many objects only have a single animation, which probably forced their hands in making the puzzles so linear
yeah. explains why the ending maybe feels a little rushed too
Solving a puzzle felt like pressing all the buttons on a switchboard before quickly figuring out in what order you have to press the buttons

So... ||Yomiel|| is basically the Bill Murray from ||Groundhog Day we didn't get to see but that was referenced by the writers||
that's my head canon on the last few chapters
Excited to start this one tonight. Seems to be easily the favorite of the month.
i think you'll really like it, it's great
I've wanted to play it forever, so very glad we got it in GOTX
It's a GotY contender easily.
Just started Ch 15 ||I’m guessing we are the cat||
Man I have been on the last chapter for 3 days and have not had the time to finish it
||is ray a rat that ate one of the meteorite pieces the super was studying||
Just started final chapter ||groan are we going to make it so that none of the events happened ||
That game was a banger. Ending felt a hair contrived but I still enjoyed it and had an absolute blast playing through it
Finished || Feel like Ray being Missile was more nostalgic than good writing. Also I like the time travel up to the end because it wasn’t rewriting time lines but rescuing people. That last one rewriting the whole story felt like dumbing down quality writing and simplifying a really unique and creative overall concept. ||
Now time to go read the previous spoilers I skipped!
I 100% agree with this.
I think the plot is left with a glaring hole: ||why can’t Yomiel have relationships and this why is he lonely? He literally builds relationship with Sessil and at the end with Lynne. So….why is he alone?Yomiel can only be sympathetic if he is ACTUALLY tormented with isolation and loneliness and BEFORE his crimson actions which murdering the wife doesn’t seem to fall in line with||
I mean I did enjoy the game and if not for its darker tones would think my 8 year old son would have really enjoyed playing this as well.
I think ||Yomiel is just written horribly. IMO like most AA bad guys. ||
If he was actually || banished to complete isolation and loneliness except for a cat I could understand mental instability and if they then simply had a chapter where he was shown compassion and reminded of his humanity before is ‘transformation/redemption arc start’ in the sub it could actually make some sense. As I say though I do not understand why he’s isolated and alone other than his own choice. There’s nothing really that prevents him from moving town and starting a job… maybe he’s got to do that every 10 years cause he doesn’t age but…I don’t get the plot of how he’s drive ‘mad’ which is a crucial plot point||
I think ||if the game had chapters where you played as him with his back story a little it would of flushed him out more. One chapter wasn't enough and just feels very rushed to me. ||
I did enjoy this game more with getting to play it together. Grateful to discover this discord and GotX. Glad to enjoy these games with you all.
this is why we don't Kevin
it destroys the organic discovery and conversation of GOTX
yeah this has been a fun thread to watch
This game rules, interesting gameplay and a very compelling story so far!
It's going to be on the short list for GotY contenders for sure
Is should win at least one category. Hopefully it wins over all. Haven’t really played anything to take it over. Maybe Metroid 2
Just started Chapter 5, a little confused here at the beginning so as good a stopping place as any for the night!
The way I took it ||he went psycho towards other people after his fiancé died. I don't think it's completely impossible that he could build a meaningful relationship only with an animal afterwards, which by the way was also nicknamed after his fiancé||
There's a french 3ds games with kinda similar gameplay I checked out a while ago. Pretty obscure, doesn't have an hltb
Need to see if it's worth the hassle to nominate it
We all know that the biggest plot hole in this game is that ||Sissel's phone travel power supposedly doesn't work in fate change attempts, and the entire game happened nested inside of Ray's initial fate change attempt||
||Maybe it's only in fate change attempts that are actually, like, fate change attempts to Sissel and that him just existing in the same timeline isn't the same thing, but still||
Just made it through Chapter 8, ||getting Jowd out of the cell block was actually quite hard. First time I had to look up what to do in a guide.||
I struggled with that one for a while too.
that was my first ||look at guide moment also||
I never did look at a guide, but I definitely got exasperated and put the game away for a few hours after many failures.
I managed it in the end but not before || trying several different ways of punching people in the back of the head || which I'm sure it implied in one of the hints
Yo, end of game spoiler and plot hole
||if your power is affecting inanimate objects and pointy blonde guys’s power is controlling people, does that mean that you’re responsible for the death of Jowl’s wife?||
Needed to use a guide as well in this chapter
||Yomiel controls both. Sissel just can't control people||
Ah ok
He absolutely implied ||something about punching guards at one point, as I tried to get him to do that as well.||
You guys played too much MGS
Took me a moment to realise ||how acrobatic jowd is|| but then it wasn't too bad
I hope I never forget the image of him rolling in the air ducts
Made it to chapter 11. Still continue to be engaged in storyline. More than any game this year
And done! Very good game, glad to have gotten around to this one finally.
I finished it tonight as well! I'm glad I decided to play this game out of the three this month
This one was easily the best of the three this month
Agreed. Probably one of the best of the year too. I do love advavce wars though.
This and Advance Wars. I just played Advance Wars to death.
my friends, all I'm gonna say is, if you like this, maybe you'll love Ace Attorney
This was better than any Ace Attorney game I played. Only played 1 and 2 so far.
Ace Attorney was so 2022
the puzzles in this make a lot more sense than many AA ones.
Absolutely. I didn't have to look up any guides for this puzzle game, which is usually what happens for me. If i did things wrong, the characters would give hints in the perfect way. Honestly it is a very delicate balance that they absolutely nailed
can safely say I'm putting in for this for GotY unless there's a huge upset coming down the pipe
(even if something else takes overall GotY for me I would probably put this one forward for Story of the Year)
The ending felt a little contrived, but other than that this game was a banger.
||Oh, now he's a corpse, we can go back to four minutes before he died which happens to be 10 years ago aka let's retcon the whole thing.||
That brother me also.
||Also, Ray being an old Missle felt like it could've been cut out completely. Leave the ending as-is, but just show the lamp Ray bobbing at the end saying something like "Well done Sissel" and then slowly stop moving with no further explanation and I think I would've liked it more. That part especially felt very forced and really unnecessary.||
yes but ||old missile's sprite is really cute||
It also really messes with the whole ||you have memories of previously dying|| thing
||Missile in general is best doggo hands down||
Missile had the best energy of any character, just "I've no idea what's happening, but I'm a dog so I never do, so let's do this!" Really adorable.
Every scene he was in was a delight
yeah lol. and it would be very easy for a character like that to become annoying but he never did
Besides ||the ending where he is Ray||
Agreed that the ||old Missle sprite was cute, but completely disliked that whole portion of the ending. Felt like the developers were just trying to tie up Ray and why he was there, when they could've easily just waved it off as "some ghost shit" and had him just disappear or something at the end and left it a bit open-ended as to who it was and why and I would've been fine with that.||
||Making it be a previous Missle where Sissel was a dick left a plot hole Terrible already mentioned and added an additional layer to the overall story I felt wasn't necessary.||
||Ray was just there to explain things to the player as Sissel, didn't think he needed to be wrapped into the story like that.||
Yeah, I agree. Why || are the animals so smart? Missile seems like a great dog personality, but then after 10 years he’s super wise? And sissel naturally understands so many human things that missile doesn’t. Like phones and headphones and such.|| Doesn’t add up the more I think about it. I just need to stop and enjoy it for what it was. Still a joy to play.
Up to Chapter 12 and this is sounding cliched but the story continues to be engaging and I am really interested to see how it plays out. I managed to get through Chapter 10 and 11 without needing to check a high-level guide
||honestly I got "this game is a love letter to the creator's dog" vibes||
I think Ray would have worked better if ||he had been a wise old rat who had happened to see many of the events who died near a meteor piece in the Supers office. || and I still hate ||that time travel went from a short rescue mission to let’s rewrite the fabric of time…||
I tried playing this on 3 devices this month but somehow now I’m on chapter 5 on the Miyoo Mini+ of all things and I’m really enjoying it. Great for the novel format, game is heating up.

Deception!
So true.
I love that he doesn't necessarily think she's fat, just that we can't know how skinny she actually is.
Made it to chapter 14 this evening. This game for me will get my vote for a great story that keeps a player engaged
Am I the only one playing on switch ?
maybe honestly lol but i know some people played the remaster on pc handhelds, should be the same version
Maybe, maybe not. I played the remake as well, but on Steam.
I played it on the steam deck. So same version, different platform
I'm late to start this one. Question because I'm finding mixed results. How important is the touch screen in this? Could it play comfortably on thr new anbernic SP which doesn't have touch? Or should I splurge for the steam version?
I'd say you should be fine without touch. Everything is mapped to the buttons.
Steam version has upgraded graphics and audio. I bought the Steam version and have no regrets
Looks like it's $15ish on key sites. Probably worth it but I wasnt sure if thr ds one was preferred
Appreciate this
I personally like the look of the DS version more, but audio is better on the re-release. Up to you!
I brought the steam version and played the DS game. Gotta show support for a banger of a game.
DS version has full button support and second screen is used pretty sparingly (it gives good info so it's good to have a hotkey to swap but u definitely don't need both on screen at once)
but personally I think the touch controls are better and feel pretty natural
Lotta weird noses in this game.
I'm sure this has been asked, but if I enjoyed Ghost Trick, which other games might scratch the same itch?
Phoenix Wright seems to be the consensus. Made by the same team at Capcom
Ace Attorney, 999 and the other zero escape games, AI: The Somnium Files, trace memory/another code, hotel dusk
all Japanese style adventure games with twisty plots
Maybe 428: Shibuya scramble as well but that's more of a pure visual novel, no real gameplay in that
I have had 999 on my 3DS and all my DS capable handhelds for like 8 years.. I really should get around to playing that soon
It's really good tho a little less... Tightly written than this lol
characters go on long tangents about weird 1930s pseudoscience and the like lol
then we can shill for Virtue's Last Reward
does GotXBot need to sneak in a last minute nomination?
when it's theme appropriate, sure
Just finished it, totally agree with this take but it overall it was really good and way better than I expected
I went in with pretty high expectations and was still floored, just thought the ending could've been better.
Are they tangents if the 1930s pseudoscience is the core of the plot
i mean some of them still yes lmaooooo
||the whole ice-9 all-ice thing that they teased at the end and then backpedaled on in the sequel||
I am at chapter 6 and I still feel like it’s a tutorial .
Keep going.
It never really stops? The game pretty continually introduces some new mechanics and gives hints enough that it can never really stop feeling like a tutorial. I don’t mean that as a negative though. Seems weird to say. The story should be picking up for you now though. But if that isn’t interesting you, the game just might not be for you. I stopped tapping in the top center speech bubbles. That at least stopped Sissels inner monologue hints and made it feel less tutorial like.
I’m on like chapter 16 and it suddenly dawned on me that Sissel would absolutely crush it as a frontman for a ska band.
Oh I see. Thanks for the infos ! I didn’t really meant it as a negative neither. It’s just my first experience of the kind . Pure visual novel I guess /
Gotten past chapter 14 and 15 and had to consult a guide for some of the puzzles. Intrigued to see how this story ends
Same, there were I think 3 puzzles where I needed a guide. The || medicine bottle, the torpedo, and swapping the rugby ball. ||
Same, I actually went nearly no guide on this one, which is rare for me with anything that's not GOTW
Team No-guide! I'm actually quite proud of this achivement
I couldn't do medicine bottle or sideways submarine without looking it up, but the rest I was able to figure out.
The one that stumped me for days was the ||bit where you have to wait for the stool to get pushed back then return before you can move it||
This is an achievement in itself. Many puzzles had me outright stumped 🙈😂
I took the stance of “if I can’t solve it it’s because I’m missing something”
I struggled with the playground equipment.
And ||Joe’s escaping prison|| I only used a guide for the first one though.
Oh yeah, I actually used a guide for ||the prison|| as well, good call
I actually accidentally found the solution to ||the rugby ball|| early in that chapter ||because I went up the tree first thinking that's what I needed to do||
I didn’t notice I could ||spin the cage thing||
The ||prison, medicine, and sideways sub|| were all pretty difficult. The rest I could mostly figure out pretty quickly, though I took an embarrassingly long time figuring out ||how to drop the chandelier on Madam||
I'm really supprised it was listed as a ||rugby ball|| in the american localisation, I was expecting it to be an ||nfl football||
Speaking of EU, I stumbled upon the EU cover for Ghost Trick while looking up songs (I like to download one song from every GOTM I've enjoyed and put it as BGM music on my Linux device's menu) and thought I'd share
There're also a couple of neat custom covers out there for it
It’s not like we’ve never seen a rugby ball before.
The place where I live actually has a pretty high Polynesian population, so I can see rugby games going on on weekends just driving around.
true, what I meant, was I thought it was an NFL ball which had had the name changed for the british localisation
I gotta say it’s fun going through this chat having completed the game and being able to click all the spoiler tags.
It’s like opening Christmas gifts, except the gift is “oh, other people also thought this was bullshit”
This took me like 5 tries because of how exact it is
It is a Japanese game though. I doubt either sport is popular there, but rugby should have larger international presence
Do we know when the story takes place . I would guess the 80s?
seems kind of anachronistic in general lol with some of the crazy technology combined with the lack of cell phones
its also not really clear where it's set but it seemed more American than anything. not the japanifornia from ace attorney lol
Oh I didn’t reach the part with high technologies ! I’ll stop trying to situate it in time lol.
For me the giant chicken totally confirmed this is the States.
But, when the ||guy gets into the van, he does it from the passenger side, doesn’t he? || Can’t be the states.
I can't believe you spoiler texted that
Im sorry. I thought || you have to spoiler text something in every message|| in this thread.
I get it now, it was spoiled because || of tradition ||
I'm late to the conversation on a few things but wanted to give my 2 cents
|| 1) Yomiel is extremely bitter and angry and unable to start because his fiance (Sissel) either committed suicide or died while he was still in the cat
2) The intention seems to be that Sissel (the cat) was hit by the meteorite at the end and is not perpetually half dead and alive like Yomiel ||
You are a much better detective than me . I didn’t see that major hint even though I was actively trying to situate the story in the time and space .
Handed in my completion, delayed finishing this up for too long
Still as excellent as I remember, one of my favorite games of all time. I'm thrilled people enjoyed it
Regarding point 2…didn’t they talk about how the ||kitten remains a kitten? Is he just forever alive?||
|| similar to Yomiel, Sissel exists in a perpetual living and non-living state, at the moment of his death. Unless the meteorite fragment is removed he'll presumably "live" forever, while still being a spirit ||
It's the main reason that || there technically could be a direct sequel if they wanted to make one ||
It's kind of a shame we didn't get a sequel. I'd like to see one
||Like, I actively want to get to play Sissel post-identity-reveal, and that we don't even get one level of that is one of the few things I dislike about this game||
Sure, but rugby balls don’t have seems like that and American footballs do
Well if it had a sequel we could not be playing it for Goodbye July!!
This is true
Rugby is fairly popular in Japan. Sixth sport by amount of players, the country is ranked 8th in the worldwide ranking. They participate in the world cups and hosted the one before last
They also qualified for the Olympics which is Sevens rugby. It's way less popular so you really need a solid base of Union players to get a subset of them capable of having a Sevens team
Who?
best emote of the last two years
I see Zu has come to appreciate the Goodest Boy
what I've learned is that sometimes when a bunch of people really like a game but can't tell me why it's good, that maybe I should just take the plunge and listen to them
the first thing I'd change in this game is people eating chicken off their knives, like seriously people, that's properly gross
I still dislike Missile
Missile has || committed murder || so we know he's ruthless enough to go for the ban
OK but how can you dislike Missile
Barks too much
I like medium size and large dogs 😭

And done. The ending I’m confused about and will need to watch a YouTube breakdown. Overall an enjoyable game with an engaging story
You could ask here as well
^^^ Kind of the point. Of this cult Club
Haha true. Can anyone give me the tldr of the ending? Spoiler tags please
@sonic scroll ?
|| Yomiel, Sissel and Missile go back to the day of Yomiel's death. They manage to redirect the meteorite, saving Yomiel but hitting Sissel, the cat, instead. Sissel ends up in the same state as Yomiel was buy is okay with it because he's a cat. It's also revealed that Ray was Missile from the past, who couldn't save Yomiel by himself and waited ten years to ask Sissel to help him. ||
Old ||Missile was kind of an asshole.||
Honestly if I can be ||manipulated by an old dog that is also a living lamp that’s kind of on me.||
I just want to know ||how you make a lamp talk|| I guess he ||is in his head or talking like ghost|| I don't know kind of fuzzy on how that all worked.
The real answer is that Japanese purgatory is super complicated because they killed all those missionaries during the 17th century and this is their punishment
It's time for a bit of spectral trickery as we enter the world of Ghost Trick!
◆ Shirts by Draculabyte: https://draculabyte.com

Technically this is an arrangement of the credits theme, Finale: The "Night" Ends, which includes the entire Ghost Trick theme and adds an entire new section. Hence the...
Thanks - not the ending I wouldve expected haha
Reached chapter 13. Am I at two thirds of the game or the chapters get longer ?
The rest of the chapters are about the length of the chapter you just played through
Which is the shortest of the game so far !
Thanks ! Maybe I can beat it today (if I skip work)
Well I’ll correct myself then.
You know the long chapters you’ve played through? It’s like them
Chapter 12 was really short . No actual gameplay.
So if the rest are all long chapters I have no chance lol
My apologies I thought you had just finished chapter 13, misunderstood
I have to say, I had never played a game like this before and that's why I love this community for forcing me outside of my gaming comfort zone. Really enjoyed this game overall, especially the story beats.
Yeah, I originally wasn't sold on this game. I like mascot platformers like Banjo-Kazooie, and so I wanted to do Conker
and the Ghost Trick people obviously couldn't tell me much about the game
Same here lol!
but they were really passionate and I decided to just trust them and do something different, and I'm grateful that I did. this is easily the best GotX I've played this year
I did not ultimately pull my vote from Conker because I gave my word and all that but I never said I wouldn't vote for Ghost Trick and thankfully it didn't come down to me having to make that decision
That said, of course I'd like this game. It has the goodest boy in it and back in the Tokyo Jungle days I was a Pomeranian main
spoilers
Yeah would it be possible to spoiler tag this

Last day oh well.
Deleted the message . Spoiler tags don’t work on my phone . I really didn’t see it as a spoiler since it’s just discussing a mechanic of the game.
Oh sorry thought it was sarcasm .
I realised, all good
that works
||I still think “the missile swapping mechanic sucks” is not a spoiler .||
||now I feel like a ghost for real||
why it's a spoiler: ||you're making it clear that there is a new mechanic involving a specific character, so when there's a whole, "who's ghost is that" moment in the play ground it's spoilt, also you're talking about the character, who is at one point locked in a room, and another blown away, being present in the chapters you're playing (13?).
Something like the "additional ghost powers" or maybe even "swapping mechanic" wouldn't be a spoiler, but you're giving too much detail away for it to be anything other than a massive spoiler||
It's the last day. Who cares if you just got to that part you're not going to make it. Next month I will use zero spoiler tags now.
People be talking about this as a GOTY contender. If it wins any the thread would be seen by GOTY players (at least potentially)
But also I just think it’s polite

Yeah unless people who played it just don't vote for it for whatever reason I think this is gonna win goty for something. Been a while since discussion about a gotm has been this positive tbh
Even the people nitpicking the ending liked the game
It deserves to beat the Metroids and Zelda for the top spot tbh. but even if it doesn't, I'd be surprised if it doesn't get story of the year instead
Oh so I am not the only one who was underwhelmed by the ending ?
You aren't lol
What do you think of it?
I kind of like it but I've played lots of similar games and understand the balancing act and the options available.
Like idk the game has a mix of lighthearted tone and dark subject matter, the ending matches the tone not the subject matter. But if it was vice versa people would also complain
||yomiel's redemption|| is contrived but also I wouldn't want it to end with ||sissel staying dead forever||
||I think what bothers me the most is the fact that cats and dogs think like humans .||
I mean the game sets that up real early so I don't mind it in terms of the ending
Totally true . I don’t know why I could never really get over this oddity . Seeing it happening again in the ending, I was like : not this again lol
But tbh I think i don’t understand the story ver well . Has a link to a good summary been shared ?
I don't think there's a link so far
If there's anything you don't get someone can probably explain it though
I mean I don’t think of a specific thing , but I would just like a wrap-up to help me put everything together .
I’m sure I’ll find it in the posts .
I did a tldr of the ending a little ago
But I’ll have to click on all those spoiler tags
^
That’s a good tldr (not that I know what that means)
Too long didn't read. Internet slang for summary
I always read everything so I got pretty much all of that . But it makes me realize what I am missing :
||why is the state yomiel was in that bad ?||
|| this was asked a few times, and it's slightly confusing, but I don't believe it's the state itself that's too bad (immortality can be bad though) it's that he lost his memory and conscious for years, and when he regained then, his fiance had killed herself, everyone basically had forgotten about his existence and he was a nobody man ||
Thanks I didn’t catch that last part at all .
I saw a few people here missed it, though because of the target audience of the game, they do dance around it a bit
Why are people still commenting here?
Isn’t it the place for it ? Since flashback channel is closing
Wish these were closed at the end of the month like. The rumor mill. My end of the year suggestion
