Funny enough, if it's 3ds capable, I'd rather stick with a square screen instead of tall. Tall works best for NDS, but 3ds is great on square due to the wider top screen.

So the build quality on most of these are about as good as it gets. Performance isn’t always the best though, mainly because they are usually just reshelled devices, so the limitations based on CPU/OS are still there.

Mine finally came in! It's much less janky & much more solid than I was expecting. The nylon shell actually feels really nice, doesn't feel like some cheap printed crap. It's also quite a bit smaller than I was expecting. Screen is a B+, not bad at all but not mindblowing. Controls all feel really nice, no rattle or anything, sticks could be better but they're fine, d-pad is surprisingly good, as are the speakers. It's also surprisingly well-sorted, doesn't have a handmade feel to it at all. I imagine the metal units would be even more so.

I got mine from XianYu using superbuy as a forwarder, whole process wasn't that bad, only problem is you can't search on xianyu without an account, and you can't make an account without a Chinese ID, so I basically just followed the suggested items from one of the links tattednerd88 posted above a while ago

I think this would be fun if it becomes a commercially available item. I guess you could also get a old Smart phone and put it into a vertical holder to achieve the same thing. It seems like these things are modified Smart phones.
I have the flip grip for my switch which is great for vertical shooters

They repurposed the HTC 5G Hub which has a 5 inch 16:9 screen. Yes you can use do similar things with a phone, but the size and the aspect ratio will be awkward.

Quite a lot more powerful than a t618. It's also got a 1440p display & the best speakers of any handheld i've owned.

Having said that, it's not a mass-market device. They're handmade & there's probably only a couple hundred max. It's mainly just an oddity & not something I'd recommend to anyone for any other purpose really. Not exactly easy to get ahold of either.

Cube fills DS/3:4 needs very nicely, along with a lot of others (unlike this), though I'll still be picking up a zero40 in the hopes that it sells well enough to get a better version down the line.
